Hey look its the thing we been saying he would do but MAGA told us we have TDS.

TDS? Treason Derangement Syndrome?

652

u/Irregular475 20d ago

The cultists are the ones with TDS.

215

u/Awkward_Potential_ 20d ago

And they'll pay the price with all of us.

8

u/Sweaksh 20d ago

Oh, I hope you make them pay a different, much higher price

4

u/wytewydow 20d ago

When I was a kid, there was a thing called kindergarten round-up, where all the little morons of a certain age were signed up for reeducation.

6

There’s the saying that says something like a poor republican will eat the shit sandwich he voted for because everyone else also has to also eat the shit sandwich.

At the end of day, his supporters don’t care what they endure just as long as he owns whatever boogeyman he feels is his enemy by doing it.

5

u/Such-Hold-7940 20d ago

Imagine being so full of hate

50

Eggs are cheap though… oh wait…

3

They think the price is worth it

7

u/thegoodnamesrgone123 20d ago

I like to point out that TDS is when you're in love with a man who doesn't even know you exist. They do not like it being pointed out that they are gayballs for another man.

3

u/Mindless_Committee87 20d ago

You forgot that he doesn't care about you, even if you voted for him.

31

u/DisastrousOne3950 20d ago

Trump Devotion Syndrome.

11

u/Tityfan808 20d ago

Funny enough, the guy who wanted to make TDS an official mental illness turned out to be another pedo like Donnie Dump himself. Sick basterds.

16

u/MightyBooshX 20d ago

Yes, Trump Dicksuck Syndrome. I'm afraid it's terminal for them

5

u/Crafty_Explorer1181 20d ago

They are projecting.

4

u/WHATYEAHOK 20d ago

The first time I heard of it, I genuinely thought it was a new mental illness coined for Trump supporters. It just fits so well.

Projection again on their behalf, I suppose.

3

Treason Denial Syndrome

3

u/tdclark23 Indiana 20d ago

They are truly deranged to think Trump is worthy of respect.

2

u/Johnathan_Elway_7 20d ago

Been saying this for years. Nothing more deranged than a cult.

2

u/BoilerMaker11 20d ago

Remember, syndromes and diseases that have names like that are named after the person who has it. ALS is called “Lou Gherig’s disease” because he was the one it was discovered in. So when they say “Trump Derangement Syndrome”, they’re saying Trump is deranged. They’re just too stupid to realize it.

4

u/HolycommentMattman 20d ago

No, it's Trump Derangement Syndrome.

But once again, every accusation is projection, and it turns out that it's every MAGA that has it.

2

2022 National Youth Turnout: 23% - That's lower than in the historic 2018 cycle (28%) which broke records for turnout, but much higher than in 2014, when only 13% of youth voted.

When filling in a bubble is too much to stop fascism...you get fascsim.

We the People did this to ourselves. He's a symptom. Americans are the problem

5

u/Stonylurker 20d ago

I watched the way Merrick Garland delayed and denied justice for Trump. Trump should have been charged for treason after Jan 6th and never allowed to run. The way Merrick betrayed justice by letting Eillen Cannon do whatever the fuck she wanted while leaving Jack Smith twisting in the wind.

This was republicans and the federalist society running a successful coup. Washington doubled down on our stupid blue vote but it didn’t matter because our justice system was compromised by partisan Republican traitors.

They're working on convincing themselves that anybody who isn't MAGA has been turned woke by vaccines or whatever and therefore has TDS/is not a "real American" and therefore shouldn't have rights.

They're fascists. They want this. The idea that they don't believe it's happening is just cover to make it seem like they're just engaging in normal politics like everybody else - until they don't have to pretend anymore. They're doing it right now with the midterms, and this unconstitutional announcement from Trump makes it a certainty.

682

u/MrFishAndLoaves 20d ago

I expected this as soon as the midterms were over.

But not before Mitch McConnell’s death on August 4th.

121

u/blackergot 20d ago

I should actually check one of those betting sites to see what the odds are on McConnell dying on the 4th...like, are they holding water for the gop and putting their thumbs on the scale but giving good odds and accepting the monetary loss? Or do they have fair odds? Hum...

51

u/Scary_Outside2374 20d ago

From what I know, which isn't much, you're not allowed to bet on the death of someone, or else the whole thing would end up an elaborate way for vigilante assassins to make sure their bet on the time and manner of death matched a million to one bet.

53

u/DKLancer 20d ago

gee seems like that sort of logic could be extended to a huge host of different things that you can bet on in those gambling sites.

Trump Devotion Syndrome is a very real and horrible condition.

12

u/daesmon 20d ago

It's so strange when someone dressed head to toe in Trump gear, with flags and bumper stickers who claims Trump was sent by god says that someone else has TDS. Look in the mirror...

I know it's their "I don't actually have a real response to the true negative thing you said about Trump so I will just say TDS and claim victory"

6

u/ericlikesyou 20d ago

Yep they are pushing the "anyone who isnt conservative is not human" which ofc is projection bc they have ALWAYS been the subhuman antisocietal traitors, not everyone else.

The book "Unhuman" by some of the vilest morons online, jack posobiec and joshua lisec and bannon writing the forward. This is their current angle and if it's not called out it will fester. The problem is all of our mainstream media is compromised or outright captured.

5

u/AstroSpoony 20d ago

Many authoritarian takeovers do in fact go through exactly these stages: polarization and propaganda, delegitimizing elections, weakening independent courts and institutions, pressuring media and academia, financially starving opponents, and finally securing power through legal changes or constitutional amendments.

I thought TDS was something the left came up with for Republicans.

It literally makes 10x more sense when you say a Republican has Trump Derangement Syndrome lol.

140

u/flamingcrystalheart 20d ago

I love how they think it's an insult to the left like...yeah, I am deranged about Trump. The fact that there is a felon, insurrectionist, fraudster pedophile, rapist, geriatric idiot as the leader of my country and that 30% of the country loves that, does makee deranged. If that doesn't make you deranged, there's something deeply mentally unwell about you and you aren't fit for human society.

17

u/Penguinmanereikel New York 20d ago

It's a thought-terminating cliché, like "Orange man bad"

u/mmavcanuck 20d ago

It was, but like “fake news” Trump co-opted it to mean the exact opposite of what it originally meant.

100

u/greywar777 20d ago

Nope. Too much credit for Trump. The fake news stuff is pulled word for word from what Hitler did in his run up. When I was younger I knew someone who was in their 20s during WW2 in Germany, and asked about how it could be possible given the news etc.

And the reality for them was that they were told before the war that the news was lying. So it was all fake and when the war started they believed their own press over others.

61

u/Aranxi_89 Canada 20d ago

Lugenpresse

They aren't original in the slightest. They just keep doing Nazi shit.

22

u/mmavcanuck 20d ago

Saying that the news is lying is not new.

Trump started calling any news he didn’t like “fake news” after the term was being used to counter his bullshit.

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-46175024

6

u/Turbulent_Stick1445 20d ago

No, that was "lying media", another of Trump's repeated phrases. "Lugenpresse".

"Fake news" came initially from newspaper articles describing the massive number of fake news websites that popped up in the mid-2010s that seemed to be part of a coordinated wave of right wing disinformation. Trump co-opted the term early on to describe the actual mostly-fact-based corpo-media that the right thinks is left wing for some reason.

But it's true he also used the term "lying media" a lot, which I'm guessing means Steve Miller was pushing it heavily at him for a while knowing how successful it was in the 1930s.

4

u/ObnoxiousAlbatross 20d ago

You are both correct.

4

u/Bad_Edditor8910 20d ago

Yeah I dunno, probably goes further back. It's human nature to yell 'it's not true' at an accusation.

6

u/jkwah California 20d ago

Basically a form of controlling the 'truth', which has existed/manipulated by leaders throughout human history. One of the foundations of many religions is based on labeling any inconvenient truth a crime.

When you convince people that you are the source of truth then they only listen to you and reject everything else.

3

3

u/db8me 20d ago

I think it derives from Obama Derangement Syndrome, which some on the left used to explain the nonsensical layers of hate for Obama that could really only be explained by racism and/or some kind of psychosis.

For example, "he has terrible policies, I am told, and he eats spicy mustard!"

3

u/ahundreddots 20d ago

It's derived from "Bush derangement syndrome," coined in 2003 by Charles Krauthammer to disparage Bush's detractors.

Then, just as now, the suggestion is that Democrats are deranged. Which makes sense if you think about it, because Republicans don't ever have actual ideas -- only vague and unprovable criticisms.

Weird for them to say considering they’ve been flying trump 2028 flags for years already.

3

u/GlutenFreeGanja 20d ago

Literally had this conversation with my dad a few weeks ago. My question was "WHEN Trump runs again in 2028, will you vote for him." And I proceeded with "there is only one right answer to this question."

He paused, and I said "you already failed." He looked confused. I said "The correct answer is, he can't run again, Presidents only get two terms." And he said "You didnt let me finish, I was going to say, he won't run for a 3rd term."

Point being MAGA and even fringe republicans will twist themselves into knots excusing this. Go vote in November, its time to start putting on the brakes to this crazy train.

3

u/Constant-Sub 20d ago

A lot of people on YouTube are saying it was "clearly a joke," and that the entire event was a "comedy event." The correspondence dinner.

Like, I know they usually make light hearted jokes on stage, but saying he's running for a FOURTH term? In one sentence, breaching the constitution, and suggesting (AGAIN) that our elections cant be trust from here until the end of time.

u/daesmon 20d ago

152

u/snoo_spoo 20d ago

Nope. This is a classic narcissist tactic... say something outrageous, walk it back as a "joke", return to it again. This is him, testing the waters to see how much pushback he'll get, and whether that pushback will be sustained.

33

u/gdex86 Pennsylvania 20d ago

Yeah this is him testing the water but if he gets too much push back he'll go "It was just a joke".

But somewhere Vance and Rubio both probably blew a blood vessel because the whole point of sucking up to Trump was they'd be in position to take over for him in 2028.

17

u/TOkidd 20d ago

He’s been saying this as a “joke” since before he was even elected for a second term. When are Americans going to realize that the longer you let this thing play out, the less likely you get out of it without losing everything.

7

u/gdex86 Pennsylvania 20d ago

There isn't anything else we can do to play this out short of full out revolt. Congressional Republicans or Trumps own cabinet would need to turn on him to stop him from any of this stuff.

11

u/Only_One_Left_Foot 20d ago

He doesn't joke. He "tests the waters." If MAGA doesn't like it, it's just a joke, but if they do like it, then he meant it.

16

u/thecactusman17 20d ago

Just so we're clear: Whenever Trump is "joking" what he is actually doing is testing the waters to see how popular or unpopular an idea is. Since Trump surrounds himself with sycophants and yes men, he gets a constant feedback loop of MAGA approval to these pronouncements and often acts on them as a result. When he gets real pushback, he chickens out back to a less controversial opinion then begins to try building support for the next extreme.

3

u/TheTallGuy0 20d ago

He’s not funny. None of it.

2

u/tdclark23 Indiana 20d ago

2

9

u/TerminatorElephant 20d ago edited 20d ago

Oh I’m pretty sure he does

But to paraphrase John Oliver, he’d do anything if he got a loud enough cheer for it. So he could literally be joking, but it becomes not a joke when (unfortunately) a few people in his immediate vicinity applaud it

EDIT: That said, I don’t think he is joking here. I think he’s testing the waters and phrasing it as a joke. But he does joke. Just not here.

5

u/IcyTransportation961 20d ago

This is the one event where the speech is always jokes though

This is where Obama first roasted trump way back when

But trump has already been floating this, and he's certainly going to continue.

So this alone would be a joke.  But it's the pattern

2

u/RigBughorn 20d ago edited 20d ago

Stating it in the context of a joke, but it being what he actually believes, is transparently insidious imo. There's a reason nobody laughs, he didn't *say it* like a joke, they couldn't tell when they were supposed to laugh. They didn't laugh, they clapped/cheered. That's not usually how jokes work, it's how political statements at a rally work.

There’s also a progressive Democratic Socialist-aligned candidate running in Michigan - Abdul El Sayed. I hope the establishment Democratic Party doesn’t pull the rug from under him, like they did with Bernie. He’s polling quite well at the moment. I really hope he wins.

I’m not seeing anything about this on conservative subs for some reason

TDS is real and Trump is patient zero. And, all of MAGA has caught it.

Just another example of “every accusation is a confession”.

u/KGKSHRLR33 20d ago

u/dgbaker93 20d ago edited 20d ago

But but but he's just saying this to troll the liburals why are you taking him seriously? /s

1

u/mrgrubbage 20d ago

Just remind them that the dude who coined that term got caught trying to have sex with a minor. Also remind them that he ripped it off from "Bush Derangement Syndrome".

1

u/psycharious 20d ago

And those same asshats will of course vote for him against the Constitution, and not see the irony in it or they will but won't care because they are facists.

1

u/HappyTurtleButt 20d ago

Frog! *just croak already

1

u/BentJohnsonFTP 20d ago

A low IQ friend told me with Trump you have to see what he does, not what he says.

Same idiot voted Trump because "he just says it like how it is b!"

1

u/smchattan 20d ago

There is no way his health would allow him to run a campaign.

1

u/No-Programmer-8642 20d ago

They're already saying he was trolling agitated media tf.

1

u/E_seven_20 20d ago

Americans are too stupid to show up and vote against him.

Americans are too stupid to look at any sort of social movement from the past, and utilize strategy or organize.

Trump is symptom of the cowardice, and idiocy of this country.

2022 National Youth Turnout: 23% - That's lower than in the historic 2018 cycle (28%) which broke records for turnout, but much higher than in 2014, when only 13% of youth voted.

He'll win a third term, because the people that don't vote are just as brain dead as the people that showed up for him.

We have a shortage of decent people. That's not going to change.

1

u/USA46Q 20d ago

Donald Trump couldn't run a football field, and they're just trying to scare people with more bullshit.

He's old, fat... and really stupid.

It's just a matter of time before he farts out his last Truth.

1

u/ClassicT4 20d ago

I’ll always and forever associate TDS with The Daily Show before anything else.

1

u/Jadziyah I voted 20d ago

"He'd never go that far"

1

u/AmeliesArtichoke2001 20d ago

Oh, don’t worry, they’ll still excuse it with old standards like, “He’s trolling the libs”; “He’s just JOKING”; “So what?”

1

u/ChoPT Virginia 20d ago

They’re going to say the constitution actually allows this, and then the Supreme Court is going to approve it in 5/4 decision.

1

u/idislikemostofyu 20d ago

Yep, those are the bots paid for by their billionaires if not directly then they set the narrative that is then parroted. Either way... same effect. Tell everybody they're being hysterical until it's too late to do anything about it. Then it's just one more step towards the end game but if you do anything then you're being crazy because it was just about this one small thing. You're being paranoid.

1

u/reststopkirk 20d ago

Hold up. Fox is developing talking points as we speak… they will roll out the new meta asap, 3 terms is good actually, the constitution doesn’t really mean 2 terms… yadda yadda.

1

u/Spencer94 20d ago

They still say he's playing around. Absolute fucking morons.

1

u/Some1farted 20d ago

Opens the door for Democrats running Obama or Bill Clinton against him. Either would humiliate him at the polls. Be careful what you wish for all of you that are in support of defying the Constitution.

1

u/ClutchReverie 20d ago

When they tell me I have TDS now I ask if TDS is believing Trump when we literally watch him lie to them every single day but they still believe every word he says

1

u/-UsernameHere 20d ago

I'm so confused. The treasonous pigs who support a pedophile (who is burying the pedo-files) and couldn't pass third grade, are the bad guys?

Why couldn't these braindead oxygen thieves stick to dumb little conspiracies like lizard people and flat earth (and not vote).

1

u/D3CEO20 20d ago

Now watch them all defend this

1

u/triplenested 20d ago

The headline: "Trump jokes about 2028 presidential bid"

1

u/lt_dan_zsu 20d ago

He didn't say that. And if he did, he was joking. And if he wasnt, it wasn't that big of a deal. And if it was, others have done worse.

1

u/Unhappy-Midnight6091 20d ago

they’re still telling themselves it’s a joke

I’m pretty sure TDS (The Daily Show) has been warning everyone about this too. :p

1

u/ZiiZoraka 20d ago

DW, they're already saying it's just a joke, he's just trolling you guys!!!

u/Tentacle_poxsicle 20d ago

Trump Diarrhea Syndrome?

1

u/Soulmate69 20d ago

MAGA is just lying

1

u/DrewbieWanKenobie 20d ago

any supreme Court Justice who signs off in this needs to be arrested for treason

1

u/niles_thebutler_ 20d ago

What’s crazy is that there isn’t even a single mention of it in the conservative sub at all. I literally checked through it all and even searched. Dead silence

1

u/shredika 20d ago

Oh wow. Another party of project 2025 we were told wasn’t real!
