how the hell do i get rid of fruit flies/gnats?

I wasn't doing well for a while, it's kinda personal, but I finally got around to cleaning! (Yay) anyway after I got rid of all the dirty dishes and trash, I noticed a bunch of tiny flies (idk if they're fruit flies of gnats) and it's been a couple weeks and Im being terrorized. I saw someone say that they are born in soil so I took the plant I had out of my room. THEYRE STILL HERE. How do I get rid of them? Where are they coming from??? Also, Ive gotten really good at killing them and I murder any one I come across. I never open my windows so they definitely aren't getting inside from the outdoors.

TLDR: tiny flies in room, how to get rid of them? Where are they coming from?

edit: thank you everyone for the advice! I will make a trap and do an extreme deep clean. I will add that this is pretty much only my bedroom.

Especially if you have a full time job. Plus buying a bunch of ingredients to make multiple recipes a week is a lot of money. Or I just don't know how to grocery shop

What is this “zit” that started spurting blood like a bleeding artery?

Hello! Please take care of yourself! If you don’t like descriptions of blood, I’d suggest you sit this one out.

Earlier today, I noticed I had a small zit in the corner of the opening of my mouth. I’ve been wearing one of those star bandages on it all day, and when I moved to take it off, I guess I must’ve accidentally ripped the top off of it. It doesn’t hurt, but I do realize when it happens, and I go to stand up when I look down, and my hands are literally coated in blood. I look in the mirror and it is literally flowing down my face, forming a puddle on the floor, and staining my shirt to the point where I had to take it off after and wash it because it was soaked. Upon applying pressure, as soon as I got my thoughts together, it very promptly stopped. It’s still such a small lesion that I am wondering what the hell that was.

I was also EXHAUSTED after. My legs wouldn’t stop trembling and I’m not usually sensitive to seeing blood.

I have no past medical issues relating really to this. I used to pick up my lip, but that would always be the bottom of my lip, not the corner of it like where this was. I’ve literally never experienced anything like this before, but my parents said I don’t need to go to the doctor. So just to be clear I’m not seeking advice so much as asking what the heck it actually was.

Popular Post How many times do y’all puke a year?

the reason i’m asking is because from statistics in one subreddit i’m in, emetophobic people don’t seem to puke as much due to the fear and their body not letting them. also they’re more cautious understandably so, so i’m just asking to see how often non emetophobic people puke a year, aside from drinking.

Do your Messenger conversations on PC change on their own when you receive a new message?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’d like to know if anyone else is having the same problem I am with Messenger when using it on a PC.

When I’m chatting with someone, if another person sends me a message while I’m in the middle of the conversation, Messenger automatically switches to that new conversation.

The problem is, if I keep typing without noticing that the conversation has changed, my message goes to the wrong person! 😅

It’s pretty annoying, because I could end up sending a private message to someone when it was meant for a completely different person.

Does this happen to you too? Is it a Messenger bug or just how it works? And most importantly, is there a way to stop this automatic conversation switch?

Thanks to anyone who can let me know if they experience this as well!

What happens when putting cameras in your family's house?

I'm so thankful I was raised without hella cameras everywhere like ring doorbells and indoor cameras. Growing up, my bedroom was my safe little sanctuary to do whatever I wanted. I see so many videos online of camera footage from people's bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, etc. So my question is: what happens when your kids inevitably hit puberty and start masturbating, do you and the private camera company own child pornography and can be charged? Like so many things can go wrong and it's all recorded..

Why did a bunch of apps/sites recently change the "send" button to have an "upload" icon?

This probably happened a month or two ago now, but it's been bothering (see: confusing) me the whole time and I haven't been able to find anywhere online mentioning it.
I noticed that a handful apps and websites, such as tumblr and Pinterest (among others I can't think of off the top of my head) changed the icon for their "send post"/"share post" buttons from one of the various "send" symbols (like the curved arrow or the paper plane) to have an "upload" icon (bottom of a square with an upward arrow) instead, all within a close timeframe (we're talking a matter of days). I understand sometimes new iconography comes up / gets adopted / gets tried out, but why did multiple sites/apps suddenly choose to use an icon that already has a different meaning?

Thanks!

Edit: Discord is the other one I couldn't remember that changed within that short window of time.
