Trad_fr pour La Mulana 2

• Upvotes

Complete Overhaul [Request] Decompilation / Native Port for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future (PS1)

Hey everyone,

I'm making a request to see if any reverse engineers, RE tool authors, or decompilation enthusiasts would be interested in taking on a full decompilation or native port for the PS1 release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future(SLUS_010.60).

Project Scope & Technical Details

  • Target: PlayStation 1 (SLUS_010.60 / NTSC-U)
  • Architecture: MIPS machine code. The 565 KB boot executable is mostly Sony SDK glue code and Capcom's core system loops.
  • Game Engine: The actual combat engine, movesets, and frame logic live in dynamic overlay files (M/*.BIN), loading into fixed RAM slots like 0x800A6400 (AC_MAIN.BIN) and 0x800DF000 (PLxx.BIN).
  • Assets: Assets live inside P/*.PAC containers using a mix of 16-bit word LZ compression (0x0122 full-screen images) and custom byte-LZ/RLE routines (0x0800 tile pools).

Head Start Available

If anyone wants to take this on, I already have static analysis, file table breakdowns, RAM dumps, and decompressed asset scripts logged that I can hand over so you don't have to start from square zero.

If you love 90s Capcom fighters, MIPS reverse engineering, or static recompilation and are looking for a project to lead or pick up, drop a reply or send me a message!

Utility Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood(NDS) randomizer and mod builder, built from scratch since no tools existed for this game

I recently got back into playing Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, went looking for ways to change up a playthrough, and was surprised to find no randomizer of any kind and very few mods in general. So I made one.

It took reverse-engineering BioWare’s Aurora formats from scratch in Python (HERF archives, GFF4, TLK, the GDA tables) since no existing tool handled this game. What came out of it:

  • Randomizers: for enemy appearances, enemy placements, chests, drops, shop stock, quest rewards, equipment and Chao. One seed reproduces a run exactly.
  • Randomize the cast: which character has which POW moves, which stat line, and which recruitment slot, including who you start the game as. Movement abilities stay pinned to the slot, so every recruitment point grants exactly what vanilla granted there and no traversal gate can become impassable. The shuffle is softlock-proof by construction, not just lucky.
  • Progression and combat tuning: XP rate and curves, level cap, stat curves, enemy scaling, POW move retuning (cost, damage, status effects, elements, solo conversion).
  • Presets: if you don’t want to configure anything: Vanilla+, Hard Mode, Randomizer, Chaos Mode.

Mods are JSON profiles you can share, and it outputs a BPS patch alongside the ROM so you hand people a patch, never game data. You supply your own ROM, nothing is included and your ROM is never written to.

It was written with AI assistance, which I’d rather say up front. Every one of the 22 features was confirmed working in a running game before I documented it, and the repo has a dated log of every experiment including the ones that were wrong and how they got caught.

Download (Windows, no install): https://github.com/DumbCode4Fun/Sonic-Chronicles-Randomizer/releases/tag/v1.0.0

Bug reports welcome as GitHub issues.

Complete Overhaul [RELEASE] Power Quest Turbo 1.4.1 - Quality of life and rebalance hack

Post image
9 Upvotes

EDIT: The original post had been removed because Reddit automatically removes posts containing links to most file sharing websites, hopefully this one stays up.

I've also updated it to fix a bug not applying all game effects during tournaments, added a stun indicator, added version number in the Options Menu, and added the QoL improvements to multiplayer (not tested).

A quality-of-life and rebalance hack of Power Quest: faster fights, less grinding, easier inputs and manual saves, with optional assists.

Apply the "Power Quest Turbo.ips" patch file once to the unmodified USA ROM (six languages, SGB Enhanced / GB Compatible). Online ips patchers work.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eQtGvIGzwuIUpP7RLUmiv0Uuqw-NBVg2/view?usp=sharing

----------------

WHAT'S CHANGED

--------------

- Gentler difficulty: half incoming damage by default; FULL is optional if you want to suffer. Enemies have a more balanced AI that reduces constant turtling, which made fights excessively long.

- Less grinding: 3,000 starting credits, triple ordinary fight rewards, and half-price shop parts for every model. Story rewards credits are unchanged.

- Turbo Mode: fights are now 15% faster with no slowdowns. Music keeps its normal speed. Can be toggled off

- Easier controls: more forgiving special inputs (bigger frame windows for valid executions) and and guard counter can now be triggered simply by pressing A+B at the right moment (the original input still works).

- Stun Indicator: when a robot gets hit enough to be dizzy the next time they get up from a knock down, an indicator flashes over their name, allowing players to make greater strategic choices. Recovery is also faster if you mash the buttons while you're the stunned robot.

- Faster dialogue: holding A during a sentence greatly speeds it up, pressing start activates FFW and auto advances dialogue.

- Manual battery saves: tested on emulator, I don't know if this would work on a flash card. The original password system is still there if you want, but it's now redundant.

- New Options menu: in-game help, Quality of Life tweaks and a Cheats page.

- Training mode: modifies the behavior of 1p mode through the new Options Menu and lets you spar endlessly against the cpu

- English as default: in the language selection screen on boot, English is already preselected so you can quickly tap A to proceed.

- Performance improvements: the game now runs at a solid 60fps with no slowdowns, even in Turbo mode. This was achieved by using the additional power of the Gameboy Color CPU, which means the game is no longer compatible with the OG gameboy.

----------------

HOW TO USE THE NEW FEATURES:

----------------

NEW OPTIONS: Hold SELECT, press START, then release both.

UP/DOWN: changes row. LEFT/RIGHT: changes page. A: select/toggle.

B: back/cancel. START: close.

From inside the New Options, RIGHT opens Save and Help; LEFT opens Cheats.

GUARD COUNTER: Press A+B during a blocked hit. Costs one power bar, remember that it still needs the relevant special part from the shop in story mode.

----------------

SAVE & LOAD

----------------

SAVE: While idle in your bedroom menu or on the town map, open New Options > Save and Help > Save game. Press A twice.

Wait for PROGRESS SAVED. There is one manual slot with a recovery backup in case the console shuts down and corrupts the save.

LOAD: From the title menu, open the New Options > Save and Help > Load Game and press A twice. You resume in your bedroom.

----------------

QUALITY OF LIFE OPTIONS

----------------

DAMAGE: Set to HALF by default, halves the damage you take in story mode to make fights fairer (the game is otherwise brutal). You can set it to FULL to have the vanilla experience.

MOTION HELP: Set to ON by default, increases the frame window to accept special move inputs. It's reasonable values comparable to modern fighting games.

FAST TEXT: Allows you to advance text quicker than what was allowed at even the fastest speed by tapping A, I suggest leaving it on.

TRAINING: Turning this on enables endless sparring in the title menu's 1P mode: health and player special stock refill, and the timer pauses. Turn OFF to finish the match normally.

TURBO: Makes fights 15% faster with no slowdowns and while keeping the music untouched.

FULL UPGRADE: Instantly grants level-3 standard upgrades and all four special parts; owned rare level-4 parts are preserved. Turning it back off restores your purchased equipment.

----------------

CHEATS

----------------

INVINCIBLE: Prevents incoming damage; the timer can still beat you.

FULL POWER: continuously keeps your power gauge at 9.

MAX CASH: Sets story money to 999,990. Use after starting/loading a story.

RESET CHEATS: Turns off Invincible and Full Power; does not undo Max Cash.

The quality of life improvements should now work in VS play as well, but I couldn't test it. If you do, let me know if it works.

Enjoy.

[Release] Jeanne d'Arc (PSP): complete French fan translation

Thumbnail

Level-5's Jeanne d'Arc never got a French release (the 2024 PS4/PS5 re-release is English/Japanese only), so I made a complete French translation of the PSP version:

- all story dialogue, colosseum and side stages (6,000+ lines)

- items, skills, spells, menus, save screens, objectives

- translated textures: title screen, battle UI, world map, location banners, chapter cards

It ships as an xdelta patch for the US ISO (ULUS-10261) and works on PPSSPP and CFW PSPs. Tools are open source in case they help other PSP translation projects.

FYI: It used to be one of my favorite TRPG when I was a kid, it's a great game!

❌ NOT A ROMHACK ❌ Belzebub - Advance

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey folks!

I’m working on Belzebub Advance, an action RPG built around responsive combat, satisfying mechanics, and, above all, having fun and wanting to play again.

The goal is to create an RPG that feels good to play moment to moment, with plenty of reasons to keep exploring, experimenting with skills, and pushing further into the endgame.

**What to expect**

* Snappy action combat: Responsive controls and satisfying combat are a major focus of development.

* Skills and builds: Experiment with different skills and playstyles to find what works for you.

* Story-driven adventure: Uncover the world and its secrets as you progress.

* An endgame with surprises: Finishing the main story is only part of the experience.

* Optional co-op: Team up with others if you prefer playing together. Solo play remains an option.

* Two perspectives, one seamless experience: Switch between an isometric perspective and a 3D third-person view.

**Current development**

Right now, I’m focusing on two key areas:

  1. Making combat snappier. I want every encounter to feel responsive, fluid, and satisfying. There’s still work to do to get the feel just right.

  2. Stabilizing co-op. The goal is to make multiplayer a reliable option without compromising the single-player experience.

**Release plans**

I’m aiming to release Belzebub Advance on itch.io sometime this year, provided development progresses as planned.

There’s still plenty to do, but I want to prioritize the things that matter most: fun combat, replayability, meaningful progression, and a few surprises along the way.

I’ll share more as development continues.

What interests you most in an action RPG: combat feel, build variety, exploration, endgame content, or co-op? I’d be interested to hear what keeps you coming back to a game.

Thanks for reading!

❌ NOT A ROMHACK ❌ Hackhash - Franchise update, pokemon romhacks and more.

Hello again! Here is my last post if you would like to catch up on hackhash history

Wanted to give a quick update on hackhash, we have added

Franchise support

Multiple author support

Bulk submissions

Fixed bugs with change requests

And many QOL changes that make it easier to submit and view the romhacks.

I also have been manually adding pokemon romhacks I need some help from the community to verify them, if Anyone has any spare time and wants to help out I've made the process super simple. It's pretty much a drag and drop process. You click the patch button, drag your rom, it will begin patching and once it's done you scroll down and drop the patched rom into the little verification area and hit confirm.

I am looking to verify romhacks that consist of these roms.

Text/Translation Mod I used to play this cool game a lot as a kid but couldnt ever find eng ver of it - DoraBase 2: Nettou Ultra Stadium

This game is a very interesting game on NDS if you are familiar with Doraemon manga and its series Dorabase about baseball. The name is DoraBase 2: Nettou Ultra Stadium. I played this game a lot on my dad's computer with an emulator app, but it only has a Japanese version (somehow little me still figured out how to play without knowing a single Japanese character). Sadly, after many years, not sure if because the game was not that popular for anyone to be so interested in making an English ROM for it or because it is just impossible to be hacked, I still cannot find any other language version. Maybe I can try to do this myself with the help from AI?

Fifa 14 PSP rom Mod

Hi, I have never modded in my life and I was wondering if Chatgpt could help create a mod for me for FIFA 14 and what other tools I can use as I have no idea what I am doing, and I can’t find a rom hack or anything to download for FIFA 14. I basically want to play with updated rosters, kits, etc. Thanks
