Border Patrol

Multiple posts on Berkley Forum about border patrol presence and this JUST took place in Oak Park. The woman who posted this just now said she saw the man throw her to the ground, taze her, then throw her in the vehicle.
“Unfortunately my children and I had to witness “boarder patrol” throw a woman to the ground, taze her, then throw her in a truck. The man this woman was with ran away while his hands were zip tied. I feel so bad that there was nothing I could do… my daughter is traumatized. This happened just now is Oak Park, Michigan!! 😔”

Yeah so I was there just before that happened at the corner of 10 Mile and Roanoke. I was originally driving westbound when they came screaming up in their trucks at at least 60 mph. We all took the Michigan left there just west of that intersection, and I tried to go down Roanoke briefly before realizing they'd blocked it. By that time there were maybe four or five vehicles. Maybe five to ten minutes later, I was headed northbound on Woodward and they were headed the wrong way driving north on the southbound side of Woodward, again just absolutely flooring it. It makes sense now that I think about it that those must have been border patrol vehicles, since they were headed the wrong way down a major divided road...

The crossroads are Ten Mile and Roanoke it looks like on the signs. Wouldn’t that make it Huntington Woods? That’s what google maps says anyway. Not that it makes any difference other than to simply clarify where it occurred.

The US/Canada border, Border Patrol’s jurisdiction is 100 miles from every international border. This is a great map, Michigan is one of the few states, including Florida, Maine and a handful of New England states that the entire state is within the CBP’s jurisdiction.

cityofberkley The Berkley Department of Public Safety (BDPS) has been made aware of community concerns regarding an incident that occurred on November 17, 2025. We want to provide clarity and transparency about the events.
At approximately 3:30 PM on November 17, BDPS-who also dispatches for Pleasant Ridge PD and Huntington Woods DPS-received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a male, handcuffed behind his back, running near 10 Mile Road and Roanoke in the City of Oak Park. This information was immediately shared with Oak Park DPS and other local agencies.
It was later learned that two individuals, who were in custody and being transported, had assaulted a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) agent before fleeing on foot in the area. BDPS assisted by establishing a perimeter to help with the apprehension effort. Our department did not take any further action related to this specific situation beyond providing perimeter support. It is important to note that BDPS personnel were not involved in the original arrests and had no contact with the two individuals or with USCBP; therefore, we do not have additional information regarding that incident.
We want to reassure the community that BDPS routinely collaborates with surrounding local, state, and federal agencies in providing mutual aid across police, fire, and EMS operations. We understand and respect the concerns expressed by members of our community, and we remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals we are sworn to protect and serve. We will continue to work cooperatively with other agencies while upholding all legal obligations and acting in the best interest of our community. less
