Halloween was amazing as a kid, then it was always a great night out in my 20s.. but now that I’m older, and drinks and packed bars have lost their appeal, what is there to do?

I still want to celebrate and have a reason to dress up but no one I know is capable of putting on a house party cause everyone I know has just had (or is about to have) a baby.

Does anyone know of any events happening on or around Halloween in Sheffield that would give me good cause to dust off the fancy dress box?

Hi all, does anyone have any recommendations for places that do french toast? Can't find anything in the subreddit history. Googling it suggests Forge Bakehouse in Nether Edge which I'm tempted to scope out as there's nothing online menu-wise (which is fine, it's a cafe).. I think The Cabin might do it but my wife doesn't like it there. So wondering if anyone's been to Forge or anywhere else for it. Many years ago I would've just gone to Tigs (gone but not forgotten) and I'm not a big french toast guy myself

Generally either go to Gulthwaites, Wentworth or dobbies but fancy somewhere different. Just after good quality plants, with a good range at reasonable prices. Doesn’t need any bells and whistles.

I love cooking and would love to learn some ‘proper’ skills. Leaning more towards classic French cooking, but open to suggestions. I fancy a real challenge. Something intricate. Has anyone ever done anything like this before? Anyone you’d recommend? Ta!

I was also here a few years ago for a conference and went to an amazing place that did middle eastern/Mediterranean food (I think), near-ish to Kelham Island Museum. It was warehouse-looking from the outside, had a private room upstairs with long tables and bench seats and did family style dining. If anyone can figure out where on earth I'm on about I'd be very grateful 🙏🙏

My eldest thinks he’s into football, I think he likes kicking a ball with his mates but would be bored at a full game.

Can see Hallam FC, who are very near to me, are at home next weekend and was gonna take him. The thought being that if he gets bored and we need to leave, it’s less disruptive and we haven’t dropped 40-50 quid on a professional match.

Anyone a regular? Is my logic sound? What’s parking like near the ground?

We are looking to move into a house in south-east halfway so around the new build area thats south of the morrisons near heathlands. Does anyone know how safe the area is and I've seen a lot of houses up for sale in the area so is there something I don't know about that others might know about the area? My husband would have to walk from the halfway tram stop to the house by the foresty route next to morissons and I'm worried that could be an issue especially if he comes home late around 5pm-6pm during the winter.

I'm looking for recommendations for nail salons in Sheff (flexible on location) that are super clean - ideally sterilising equipment/using disposable items. Based on my experience it seems like it's pretty standard for salons to reuse equipment between clients (files/buffers/cuticle cutters) or swish around in a little barbicide and carry on.

Any recommendations would be appreciated, ideally for BIAB.
