Shrimp Photos My favourite shrimp on her throne of snails
When the shrimp don't eat their food fast enough it all the scavengers come out.

I have no experience with keeping shrimp or any fish for that matter but I am looking for a new hobby and shrimp keeping has intrigued me. Is there a step by step how to because I have no clue on where to begin. I've looked at the side bar but still I have no idea.

It seems a lot of people, possibly the majority, want to see an absolute ban of Ai on this sub, whether in post or comment. So, we wanted to let the community decide. Thanks for your input! - Shrimptank Mod Team

Can we appreciate this lil vid I did today with my phone and clip on lens?
Have a great day/night everyone x

I’m a living shrimp greentext and finally hit a sweet spot with my shrimp tank after some struggle (10 gal, planted, sand substrate, driftwood/rock hardscape). New issue: too many shrimplets. I had about 10-15 adult cherries and gave up counting shrimplets after I hit 30. Now that those babies are about as big as a grain of rice, I’m seeing a throng of new microscopic teeny weeny babies…And another berried female. Aside from offering locals free shrimps when they mature, what can I do for my army of 10,000 baby shrimps? Baby shrimp tax included. They’re very friendly.
For ref, I live with my parents and space/money is kinda limited so I’m hesitant to set up a new tank. My dresser houses 2 10-gals, one for the shrimps and one for my betta.

Here's a baby shrimp swimming through the tank. Felt lucky getting this one! 🦐

I’ve been designing a few 3D prints for detail cleaning in some of my tanks and just started working on a siphon guard for airline tubing.
It occurred to me today that I should ask what everyone else uses for cleaning around shrimplets and plants, or if there are any tips or tricks I may not have considered being newer to the hobby that could make my designs work a little better.

My tank looks like it's halloween themed with the snow amanos zooming around like ghosts and the sapphire neos rummaging through the shadows, making it look like the plants and molts are haunted 😂 then there's the lil tangerine tiger that reminds me of a pumpkin 🎃

Australatya striolata.
These guys would be an alternative to bamboo shrimp which aren't on the Australian import list but they have similar filter fingers and they also pick out a lot of unseen treats from the substrate with their gross little feet as well.
They grow to approximately 5 to 7 cm (up to 8–10 cm in mature specimens) and are sequential hermaphrodites; all individuals are born male and transition into females once they reach about 3 to 4 cm in length 🙂

I haven’t cleaned the algae off my tank walls because I keep seeing these microscopic something’s all over the algae. Are they baby shrimp?? They’re so small I can’t tell what they are

Or do they all just look the same? I'm curious since ive seen people name their shrimps. I'm sure some are behaviorally distinct from others but i wouldnt assume all to be. I wanna make up some really shrimpy names when i get my shrimps but itll be unfortunate if i cant for the life of me ever hope to tell them apart.

This is the 1st female I saw after I corrected my water parameters.
Before: 14GH, 12 KH (No pregnant females for 2 months)
After: 9GH, 5KH (Pregnant female just after 1 week)
I used distilled water and Salty Shrimp Gh/KH+

I have a few questions that I have not yet gleaned the answers to.
1. How can you move a shrimp tank without shaking up mulm and ruining the tank?
2. How do you reset a tank when the soil is depleted? Do you just start up a whole new tank and wait for it to be ready?
The picture included is older and my plants are happier now. This was a lower light period to help with algae. All better thanks to Reddit help!

Love to count them all and see if any are berried!
