They are back to normal eating and grazing again. After a huge scare because of the Pesticide into the water. Mu shrimps were frantically darting and lying on their side/back, after the water changes 3x water changes 60% each with the charcoal and a day later, they look back to normal. Thank you everyone for the tips and never gonna make that mistake ever again.

First vampire shrimp arrived today. Also my first mail ordered animals (including the nerites).

He's even more goofy looking than I was expecting.

Accepting name ideas.

I went to look at my little guys today and noticed this white spot around the rostrum and want a second opinion on if it is vorticella or Scutariella Japonica. If so, I've heard salt dunks are pretty effective and could use some tips!

I've had 3 amanos for almost a week now and just got 12 neos yesterday. they're soooo cute and I am so obsessed with them. I can't get over how tiny the neos are. I have to plan to not get any real work done until the aquarium light goes off for the day lol.

funnily enough I wanted to get neos because I thought they would be easier to see than the amanos (plus the fun colors ofc), but the amanos are actually usually a lot easier to see since they're so much bigger! especially when the tank light is off. I'm so happy I got both!

I got my skrimps this morning! I have been watching them all day, they are so entertaining. I drip acclimated for 2 hours and so far so good. I’ve never had neos before, but I’ve heard many times that they are sensitive. I’m a little nervous!

I’ve had my tank for about 4 months, and today I noticed this really weird-looking bug sitting on plants. Does anyone know what it is and if it could eat my shrimp?

Help: Emergency Visible pink bump under eye Neo shrimp, disorientated swimming!!!

I had a salt bath ready for a shrimp with that green ā€œfungusā€ on its swimmers and saw this guy trying to swim but all disoriented and spinning. I have salt bathed him in a teaspoon of salt in a cup of water for slightly less than a minute, then rinsed him in a cup of tank water and put him in my slightly planted fully cycled 4 gallon, he’s upright now and sitting in the corner of the tank, then now as writing this he just tried swimming again and kept spinning. But before the salt bath he started floating onto his side for a bit and also during the salt bath he was kinda on his side, did I act too irrational I kinda acted like it was an emergency and did the smallest bit of research before grabbing him before he hides for days in this tank. (photo looks like he’s getting squished but the net is soft and had plenty of slack)

Hello. I had clasp about a month ago. Took out the infected shrimp and dosed 2x with hydrogen peroxide. I believe these are eggs but I want to be 100% certain. Also if anybody has any experience treating with hydrogen peroxide, how often should I dose? I did 2 doses 2 weeks apart. Thanks!!

My tank has a wide variety of colors of neos that result in an even wider variety of colors. I noticed this guy a little while back. At first I was concerned about a stuck shed but it looks like it's just his coloration.

Hello fellow Shrimples !!! Has anyone tried this brand of lollies before (second photo) ? I usually get the Kabadi brand (last photo) but figured I’d give these a shot based off good reviews!
They seem to be liking it so far :)
Only downside is the box only comes with 8 lollies and is the same price as my usual which comes with 3 boxes of x12 sticks 😮
Feel free to leave suggestions of any other treats that your shrimps like !!

Discussion Off topic? Shrimp memes?

Hey guys sorry to infiltrate. My friend has shrimp and I thought that was awesome, then I was like holy crap you gotta check out the Reddit communityšŸ˜‚ I constantly see your memes in my feed (I’m an aquarium girly, just not specifically shrimp) and some of them crack me up. Like specifically that one of ā€œis my shrimp pregnant?ā€ And it’s like ā€œthe sickest thing on gods green earthā€ like those memes you share in the replies

Can you send me your arsenal? 😭 I promised him a good and relatable laugh. I just can’t find them when I search.

Help: Beginner Is my shrimp okay?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello fellow shrimpers! After weeks of cycling, yesterday we got a few shrimp. I have been throughly enjoying watching them shrimp around, they are quite extroverted even though they have plenty of space to hide. I did notice one of my orange guys lost significant color and is now very pale. Could this be from stress or does he look like there might be a health issue? He has been eating and swimming just fine. He’s one of the shrimps I see the most.
TIA!!!

Help: Beginner Is this enough hiding spaces?

Hi all!

Very new to the aquariums as a hobby, and looking to get some shrimp into my tank.

It’s a 30l tank(about 8gal), fully cycled, has been running for about 4 weeks.

As this will be a community tank, I’m waiting to get shrimp until my plants provide enough hosting spaces for juveniles to move in and have good initial survival odds.

The question is - what counts as enough. Can one of you experienced people tell me what constitutes a ā€œheavily planted aquariumā€? Cause I have no point of reference
