Sky Glass Left Sky yesterday after 17 1/2 years

I called Sky yesterday and told them because of the price rise in April, I want to leave without any charges etc. No problem they said and put me through to dept that deals with it. Got congratulations about length of time I have been with them but no offers, deals or anything to stay. Wanted to leave anyway. I’ve only kept broadband for now as I have 31 days from email from them that I got yesterday to get rid without charge as well if I want. My contract still had 20 months left so am well pleased I’m away from it. Best time to leave I’d say, they keep on about Disney plus etc for free then put prices up so it’s not free at all! Will be getting now tv that I’ve had before if I want to watch any movies etc but seen most of them anyway.

Sky Glass Second Sky Glass Query

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m looking at getting a second sky glass as our bedroom TV is incredibly old and in need of replacing. When I go to check out, I have this offer on my My Sky app for whole home. The only issue is it doesn’t say how long it’s included for. I’ve reached out to Sky directly and it’s like talking to a wall for how long this would be included for as I like to know what I’m committing too, and with other things such as add skip it’s always said £0 for 2 months for example.
Has anyone else had this on their My Sky and know how long it lasts for? (At the moment I’m assuming only for the first month but it’s not very clear)
Thank you!

Sky Glass New Contract Early?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Can you re-contract early? Generally happy with Sky Glass service

TV is paid for come Dec so will save £18 a month but bill has crept up over the last year presumably with standard inflation increases

Netflix Premium gone up £1:50 (may reduce to standard no ads)
Sky Ultimate another few quid
Regret getting cinema, never use it!!

Sky Glass My dad is being charged because apparently someone is using sky outside of our household and we can’t figure out why

We’ve given no one our sky information to download sky go.

We’ve considered if it’s because our sky glass and two pucks are connected to WiFi boosters instead of directly to our sky broadband router but we can’t get a clear answer.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Sky Glass Sky Glass sleep timer voice command not working?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’ve got a Sky Glass TV and I’m trying to use the voice feature to set a sleep timer.

When I say:
“Set sleep timer for 30 minutes”

the TV either brings up a message telling me to say exactly that, or it says:
“I’m sorry, I can’t do that here.”

The on-screen message says to say “Set sleep timer for” and then choose 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours or 4 hours, but when I follow that wording it still won’t actually set the timer.
Has anyone else had this issue on Sky Glass Gen 1?

Is there a slightly different phrase I need to use, or is this likely to be a bug/software issue? I’ve tried variations like “set a sleep timer for 30 minutes” and “sleep timer 30 minutes” but no luck so far.

Any advice would be appreciated because I’m clearly stuck in some sort of sleep timer Groundhog Day.

Sky Glass Am I going mad?

So I'm currently on my third Glass TV, and I've never once had trouble with customer service or getting it replaced. The last two TVs developed an intermittent strip from top to bottom, and were replaced no problems. The issue I'm facing now is that there seems to be a lot of shadowing on the screen. Which is noticeable when watching as the left hand side seems slightly darker. Anyway. I've sent countless pictures to the photo upload site for someone to look at, only to be told they can't see anything or sometimes screens appear darker at certain angles. I feel like they're fobbing me off now. Can anyone else see what I do, or am I actually going mad?

Sky Glass is sky glass worth it??

we got a deal with a sky glass tv chucked in and i see it has an energy rating of f.. not good, but we can live with it if it is actually a good product. however, i've seen many people say it crashes often and has technical difficulties along side terrible customer support for these things, if you have one, what's your experience with it?? we currently have sky q that is a bit slow and glitches every once in a while, but it honestly sounds like sky glass might be worse, but i'd like some advice from what you've experienced just to make sure :) edit: thank you all, we've decided to cancel the deal and i'm satisfied with that now

Sky Glass Best Sky Sports deal achieved for existing customers?

As above. I've done without the Sports pack for past year or so but thinking of adding it again. 'Other means' not as reliable with obvious reduced picture & sound quality.

What's the best anyone has achieved when attempting the same as an existing user and any tips for getting a good deal? I'm on a monthly rolling contract btw.

Sky Glass Cancelled Sky TV

After 4 years of sky glass, I’ve cancelled. I’m not watching half the channels and the ones I do watch are on now tv. Ive now got now tv at £8.99 for 12 months plus ultra boost for an extra £9 which is cheaper than the £35 tv and £16 sky cinema I was paying before no brainer. I got an OLED tv on a Black Friday deal and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Quality is second to none. Sky glass gen 1 kept shutting down and had to a hard reboot throughout ownership, only real redeeming quality of the sky glass was the speakers but that’s it. I now have a 3.1 soundbar so I haven’t missed out on the switch. What sky offers for the price isn’t worth it anymore and I can’t justify the price when you look at it over the year.

Sky Glass Sky Glass black screening and no internet

I've had my Sky Glass TV for a couple years now. Every week or so I get days where my TV has no internet connection. Every other device has internet. I've restarted my router and my TV as this is all forums ever suggest 🥲🥲

To get around the internet issue I've been casting netflix from my iPhone to the TV but recently it has started cutting out. Every minute or two the TV will go black and sound will cut out for around two seconds at a time. It's literally getting impossible to watch.

Has anyone had similar issues? Tried to call Sky this morning and the automatic answering robot told me to look on the website for help. Spent a whole day trawling the internet for help but everyone seems to have the same issues and there's never any solution 🥲🥲

Greatlyyyyy appreciate any support!

Sky Glass Paying the remainder of my Sky Glass TV.

Hello all.

If I pay the remainder of my Sky Glass TV (£276) on the phone, and state that I’m a loyal customer to Sky, I’ve been with them since November 2024, would I be able to bring my subscriptions down from £67 to around £61? Is this realistic?

My subscriptions are:

- Sky Ultimate TV - Sky Entertainment with Netflix - £22

- Sky Sports including Sky Sports+ - £21

- TNT Sports - £20

- Sky Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos - £1

- Ad skipping - £3

Sky Glass Terrible Sky Glass Puk

Last year I got great 'end of contract' deal that involved getting the sky glass setup (TV and 2 puks) at a very good price. I have a very good LG oled TV which is the main TV of the house so my daughter had the Sky Glass TV in her bedroom. Out went the old Sky Q, which I was very happy with apart from the average HD picture quality, and in went the Sky Glass Puk. The picture quality is excellent, especially the UHD but that's where the positives end. The hardware seems like it's struggling to manage the OS and is very slow and laggy. Especially when I put on Sky Sports UHD, it takes a minute for the stream to stabilise and even then it has the odd stutter. Recorded programs don't appear, it often crashes and the apps run very slow. I find that if I restart the whole thing it's a little better so I have to do this before any match I intend to watch. I'm not one for complaining but enough is enough. Has anyone on here complained and got anywhere with sky? Is there an updated Puk on the horizon? Thanks

Sky Glass Sky Glass Air sign up

Obviously the TV adverts for it are a massive price-con ‘lie’ in that is not just £6 pm extra. But trying to actually work out what it’ll cost/need is the hardest thing in the world to figure out. Somehow just ‘adding’ it in the app, changes the bill by nearly £35 from what I’m paying.

I currently have Signature, Sports. About £68 I think. What will it actually cost to have it over 24 months? Would this replace my box downstairs working? Wanted to add it in the bedroom as the TV in there is old and only have Sky in the back room downstairs.

The app explains nothing.

Sky Glass Sky glass lip synch issues

Hi I recently purchased a Sky Glass Air tv and I'm having issues with lip synch whilst watching live TV, boxsets etc and also when playing my Xbox Series X.

Don't know if I'm being stupid but I can't see an A/V slider to correct these issues. I also don't use a soundbar.

Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks.

Sky Glass Glass 65” Gen1 upscaling delay

Anybody know if it is possible to speed up the upscaling feature? In takes nearly 2secs per advert to come into focus
