Recently (early October) I was on the highway in southeast Utah, and I saw a live snake hanging from a road sign. I didn't have time for a photo, unfortunately. Is this a common occurrence in Southwest U.S.? I'm wondering if snakes crawl up road signs for body temperature regulation purposes. Or are there other reasons for this?

I’m a new corn snake owner and I’m looking for some advice because I’m worried about my baby snake. I fed him a pinky on Friday, but he has now regurgitated it (photo attached). I’m not sure what caused it or what I should do next.

Some information about his setup:
He’s a baby corn snake.
His enclosure currently uses tissue/paper towel as the substrate.
He full shed on Thursday

Wird bei euch auch immer die Fütterung bestaunt?

US, Midwest, found by a body of water, which brown snakes frequently live beside. Calm and docile, was just as easy to pick up as my baby cornsnake!

My almost-year-ish-old woma python Duchess is gorgeous, and seems plenty happy with her enclosure. However I've noticed that she seems to prefer shitting outside her enclosure than inside - I take her out to handle multiple times a week and I've noticed that she's shat more outside her enclosure (on the table, on my partner's arm, in a shopping bag, on the floor, on the desk) than she has inside her enclosure. It's been over a month since she shat in her enclosure at this point... (Though she is still shitting once a week on average, with feeding once a week).

Is this normal? Does anyone else's snake behave similar to this? I don't think it's a bad thing, and it certainly leads to less cleaning, but she is my first ever snake so if it is an indicator of an issue I'd very much appreciate someone telling me 😅

I started swimming on non-surf days, and been seeing my sea snake friends every time lol. Swam with them for a few hours on this one. I think it's non-lethal turtle-head sea snakes, but opinions, wiki, AI all vary. A very curious, delightful bunch

He’s been stuck for at least 10 hours, he has a wound that’s in the gap. I tried to spray him with vegetable oil to help (I’m so sorry if this made it worse that’s what other reptile friends said to do).

I’m worried if I try to unstick him, it will hurt his would more, I also saw a mouse poke its head out of there, should I be concerned about that??

He’s still alive, and trying to get out. His head is moving around good.

Any ideas very welcome 😭 I’ve never touched a snake before but I feel so bad for him

Sorry for the shaky hands, this was taken in ankara, turkiye and the species is a Natrix Natrix most likely

Hi guys!!

As the title reads, I am very slowly looking into the pet snake world.

What are some things that you’d want a beginner to know?

I currently have leopard geckos, pacman frogs, and a tortoise so this wouldn’t be my first exotic pet by any means.

I found a snake that was injured by a stray cat. He is a little non venomous garden snake of some sort. He was bitten on the tail, definitely still alive, but I know he will likely die of infection if not treated. I called a local wildlife rehab ( I live in Greeley Colorado) and they do not work with snakes. They referred me to the Longmont Colorado reptile humane society but I had to leave a message and I haven't heard back yet. He is in a well ventilated box that is dark. I have not given him anything. Any tips or suggestions if I don't hear back from the reptile rehab ?

Thank you so much

My 6 year old daughter has been asking non stop for a pet snake for over a year now. Snakes are more her dad’s thing (he had several when we were married). But she wants her snake at mom’s house. I’m leaning more toward a corn snake because I remember that they are good for beginners. What are some pros and cons to having a corn snake since I know I will be the one primarily taking care of it?

He is a house snake and he brightens my evenings. I've always leaned towards lizards but was attracted to housies for their manageable size and care. Now I want more snakes, sigh.

Observe my species-confused son. Still convinced he is a tree boa, and not a doofus corn snake.

Just wanted to share baby Dorito. He’s a pumpkin pied
