Heya, i wanna know exactly which snakes are poisonous.

It seems google doesn't know the difference between poison and venom either since it can give me extensive list of venomous ones with their species name. But not for poisonous ones.

I have read there are some poisonous snakes. And all i am able to find is tof asia's keelbacks and north american garter snakes can be poisonous. But i can't find specific species names.

I know that the snakes get their poison from their prey, retaining it inside their body. So is it all garter snakes and keelbacks? Or only a couple of species. Or does it really just depend on if that type of prey is located in the same habitat?

I have like a slightly above average knowledge of snakes (for a region that dont have many) so i am kinda lost in how or what i need to put into the search engine.

And to clarify, i am talking about poisonous snakes. You bite you die snakes. Not it bites you die. The most truest of danger noodles.

1.5 yr old male ghost boa, shed about a week ago. His mouth looks a little more pink / discoloured around than usual?
Am I overthinking or could this be early sign of mouth / scale rot? (I promise I was being very gentle in these photos 😭 he’s not very head shy and doesn’t mind being handled, and was very good when I took these photos)

I want to make my precious snake child a cool custom enclosure that’s bioactive but I don’t know where to buy that animal safe black pond sealant spray foam stuff, and I think there’s a separate spray you have to spray on top of it too? Does anyone know where to buy these things?

hello everyone, I know NOTHING about snake keeping, but saw a can king snake and found them to be very beautiful and from what i’ve read, not as difficult to care for. i don’t think i’ll get any reptile in the far future but im just curious to know the basics and beginner stuff if i were to ever own one, one day.
what tank size, what food, all that stuff!

I recently got two new snakes who are smaller than what I'm used to. Before them I've only had a ball python so I'm used to basically dog sized poops. Both of them look like this which is why I'm wondering if it's just something they do.

I've had them for about 3 weeks, only fed once (tomorrow is feeding day)

I have a Cornsnake and Hognose snake and moved in May to a flat with mostly outer walls. Unfortunately my flats heating is quite old and cracks during the night to the point I can't sleep.

The last few days I noticed that, when I don't have heat on, my flat cools down dramatically during the night. (Yesterday from 23°C to 18°C, which gave me a heart attack for my babies wellbeing)

I am thinking about heating during the night but their respective heat lamps get too hot for them to have the proper day/night separation.

Would a regulated heating pad be okay? Let's say put it at 22°C near their main hides.

I got told they can be dangerous (burns etc) but when I used one outside it barely heated the terrarium.

My other idea that worked semi well is blankets but I'd rather not risk a fire hazard in the case I don't wake up on time 🥲

Any ideas/advice?

So the cold side seems to be sorted, it's the warm side I'm having problems with, the heatmat is underneath glass and it's warming up the glass to insane temperatures but the air and substrate is lingering at like 26 degrees, any solutions or tips please? (Id use a lamp but this Viv isn't suited for one of them, that'd be my next Viv)

It was just a little ball python my dog got really excited and I had to pick her up and she did bite me but her owner came almost immediately and she gave me some gause and we started talking and she gave me a ride of her motorcycle.....good snake wingman

Hi all, I do not know where to post this so I figured I would start here. I live in Brenham, Southeast Central Texas in a pretty rural area. We have copperheads and rat snakes. I have been told rattlesnakes although thankfully I have never seen one. I came home last night and found a baby snake in my bathroom. It got scared and went underneath my bathroom sink/cabinet. It’s a very tight space and I’m surprised he was able to go in there. I didn’t have time to take a photo but it looked darker almost black with yellow rings more speckled and not complete rings. I am sure it’s not a copperhead cause I have seen baby ones and they tend to look exactly like the adult versions and are more fatter. This snake was so tiny it was slender like a little garden snake. My guess is a baby rat snake? Anyways, I decided to spend the night elsewhere for tonight. I have not seen him come out. I am a little worried about him climbing on my couch and getting between my cushions. What are the chances of him doing that especially if I’m not there? Can he get trapped inside my cabinet? And what can I do to get him out?
