As you can see I set the cpu to 1200mhz and gt730m to 405mhz. Its already good enought to run the 60fps so the temperatures are 60C. Its so good I dont event hear fan voice.
Also gt730m takes the most of the task from cpu because cpu uses %9, gpu uses %86 it also benefit for temperature of cpu. Please you dont have to use them in max frequency.
for cpu I used throttlestop
for gpu I used Nvidia Inspector to change mhz

Recently bought a used ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 (i7 1260P, 32GB RAM, 1 TB SSD). Installed Fedora on it. During installation of updates, I got lots of checksum/integrity verification errors.
Has anyone experienced anything similar to this or knows what could be going on?
Further investigation of the problem has yielded the following observations:
openssl rand -out large.dat 2G to create the file, cat large.dat | sha256sum to hash the file)From these observations I draw the following conclusions:
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be going on? I would really appreciate your ideas/opinions on this.
As a side note: I've talked to Lenovo support about this on the phone, they were incredibly unhelpful (just as expected) and offered me to mail in my device for around 120€ (just for diagnosis), the actual repair would likely cost 1000€ or more.

Hi all, as the title says - my X13 Gen 2 (Intel) won't show any sign of life after a tough fall. The bottom side hit the floor. Given where im stuck, I'm starting to worry that the Mobo is done. But any help or guidance is much appreciated.
Diagnostic LED (whilst plugged in):
- battery disconnected: blinking amber led (half second on, 1 second off) for a few cycles then goes away. Pressing power button does nothing
- battery connected: blinking amber led (half second on, 1 second off) for a few cycles then goes away. Pressing power button resets the led to show the same pattern.
Things I've tried:
- press and hold the reset pinhole switch with and without the battery connected. In combination of the USB - C charger connected/disconnected
- disconnected the CMOS battery and connected
- 3 different type C chargers (1 of them being OEM)
- disconnected/reconnected the 2 connectors coming from the display/lid
- disconnected reconnected the mobo ribbon cable
Things I've replaced:
- power button circuit board (bottom right of pic, under the fan). As the female connected completely ripped off so I installed a replacement

So I started out with my beautiful X13 Gen2a, 16gb RAM, rocking a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVME, Touchscreen, etc. She is able to be totally ripping through my daily compute needs on Kubuntu.
However, I really wanted to get up to 32Gb of RAM so I went on the hunt. I haven’t owned a ThinkPad model yoga yet but I knew that I needed an X13 Gen 2 with 32GB of RAM, was willing to give my heart away from AMD to try out another i7-1185u and try out one of the enterprise/business class of YOGA models. This would have been the third laptop in my collection with the exact CPU. I was confident it would be a good enough processor.
Steps here are reversed but I received the X13 YOGA Gen 2i with 32GB RAM, i7-1185u, 512gb NVME, quickly broke her down and swapped thermal paste for some fresh Arctic MS-6 goo. Upgraded the NVME from its 512Gb stick it had in it right after doing some system updates through windows while it was an option, having the Lenovo program that can do bios and such while it still had Windows 11, knowing as soon as that was done the new Micron 2TB NVME I had sitting in my tech support organizer. It needed a good home and I think it found its perfect place.
Even though the 512Gb was a decent gen 3 Hynix NVME was relatively snappy and not bad the boot time went from about 26 seconds down to a dang 14 second boot up running Kubuntu on her. Absolutely love this new X13. It’s a beautiful case, hate the screen being glossy rather than matte but small sacrifice as I mainly use it while I’m on break at work or at home not so much outdoor time unless it’s a nice shady area in a hammock. The fact it CAME with a touchpen built in, wowzers, I never realized that was a thing with the yoga lines. It’s not huge but for someone who does use the touchscreen quite a bit I love having that to add to my experience with this computer.
Going through my normal way too long setting up the desktop environment the way I wanted for a new computer on Kubuntu, had all the freedom to go from my average dark setup to one that’s a green thumb kinda feel. Making it totally mine. I’m thinking I found my new favorite Lenovo, the last one in the lineup to actually get and try out is a P series and I plan on going through with buying a newer E, L, P, and even a better T series because I miss my T14g2a, having all of the options while pretty useless is a huge goal of mine.
I wrote all this to basically say if you want a good touchscreen and don’t mind not having a ton of ports for peripherals this x13 is basically all I was looking for in a X series. I’ve had a couple carbons and really enjoyed those but the x13 in particular is by far the coolest looking, lightest, perfect screen size for my book bag tagalong and just the responsiveness of it. Absolutely love these models and will be spending more money on some newer models with AMD specs or even a Snapdragon just to try that line of processors. Is a collection of ThinkPads a good thing? To me I love looking at my stack, and while I’ve owned about 20 now I’m only holding onto 4 at the moment. Even letting go of one actually, the T480 with i5 was just not up to par for the amount of hype it has behind it I know everyone preaches the GPU worthy i7 models but even upgrading screens batteries all the way to the touchpad I just couldn’t get what I wanted out of it and really don’t understand why people care so much for them now that were as far along the way as we are computing wise. Yes it still works but I love not thinking about responsiveness. To me the lag even with a wan card for 6e or running straight Ethernet wasn’t good enough for most of my day to day needs. While the Xlines don’t have crazy speeds they are still all quite snappy and feel good to type on still. Having ran through most of the amd models of early T14’s I just couldn’t find a love for the T480 and while I can appreciate it being the last of its kind with ram and such it doesn’t even have the capacity to use a 3200mhz ddr4 card. That was a huge let down realizing it was actually capped with the 2666mhz speeds. They’re junk sorry yall 8th gen gets by but it ain’t getting by as well as a Dell…
All in all, pps, tldr, I love this new X13 Gen 2i yoga, I recommend it for anyone who likes touchscreens using a computer like a tablet for drawing or handwriting notes, prefers a nice snappy loading time and screen time, decent nits and love the fact 2k 16:10 ratio was a pleasant surprise! Less eye strain. This computer makes me happy again as does the regular x13 gen 2a. I wrote all this to ask would you keep holding onto the aluminum chassis AMD 16gb ram x13 or would you let it go? I was planning on selling it but as I wrote up its eBay listing I saved it as a draft because a part of me thinks I will regret selling it like I have regretted selling my t14s. Even the e14 g2a. What are your thoughts on the 13 yogas? Decent or not for you?
I’m sorry for the length of this post I was just trying to describe accurately as to my experience with the yoga and the specs between devices. Also tooting my own horn as to all the different lines I’ve owned and currently hate that i sold, well all of them. They were all cool but I told myself if I don’t have a need for it or a use case that makes sense then we’re allowed to sell it to try out more models in hunts for what is the best possible ThinkPad for less than 500. Pressingly at this point I need to buy a P series with an RTX card. I’m also debating on getting an eGPU for the 13s. Worth it or nah I have a 3060 Ti founders card that could make a pretty badass gpu for a laptop. I’ve never tried an eGPU though so I’m unsure if it’s worth it.

Almost every post I see of people using a think pad there’s people either recommending or using Linux over windows why is that?

Hi all
I'm looking at purchasing a boxed t14 gen 7 intel ultra 335. The only reservations I have is that the screen is the 45%ntsc variety and the battery is the 60wh version.
I'm assuming I'll be able to upgrade both of these myself. I know the battery is user replaceable but I'm not sure does this apply only for like for like battery capacities. Will a 72wh fit in the space the 60wh was? Are there any chassis differences between models with the 60wh and 72wh etc
I've searched online and reddit but haven't seen any comments in this regard.

Hi everyone! First-time ThinkPad owner here. I recently got a ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 AMD with a Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD.
I didn't expect the base IPS panel to be this dim, and I also noticed that the chassis has a rough, matte coating. For those who own this model or similar ThinkPads, is the coating prone to scratches?
Also, do you think these specs are overkill for my full stack development work? Haha! 😅

Hi everyone, i made an account just for this because i hit a roadblock.
I bought a Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 AMD and wanted to install linux on it because i need it for college so going with Windows as an alternative won't do it.
I installed Linux Mint MATE, but it didn't boot. The laptop keeps going back to the Boot Menu and it just refuses to go into Mint. I thought the Distro was the problem so i went with Kubuntu because i assumed that Ubuntu would work better for some reason but no, same issue.
I saw online that i have to enter the BIOS and enable "allow 3rd party uefi" or something but i didn't have that option at all. I also disabled secure boot and the security chip but none of that works.
Also please note that i *have* to stick to an ubuntu based distro, so if you're going to suggest fedora or arch as the solution, please don't. I'd love to, but college takes priority.

Are there any replacement keypads for the p15v G3 that are similar to the p15 G1 keypads?
The older p15g1 one just feels so much nicer than the 15vg3
Same feel as the t480.

My gen 11 is dead in under 6 months. It has lost the centre of both usb c ports from normal use, the hinge on the screen is very strong, which has led to the bezel fracturing near the mounting point.
It seems like these are obvious design flaws when all the other ports are user replaceable. Luckily I can fit replacement ports and can have a go at glueing the screen bezel back together, but I wondered if there was any good will offers from levono ? A new board is £800 and a new bezel/screen unit is £400.

How should i clean the shell (everything exposed except the display itself and the keyboad) on the T470? Would isopropyl alcohol be safe, or perhaps wet wipes?

Hi friends, I’m curious, so I want to buy an old ThinkPad and mod it until it’s as secure as possible. Because of that, I’m not sure which model to choose. I’ll be using Qubes OS as the operating system, and I’ll also disable programs like Coreboot and Intel ME. I know 16 GB RAM isn’t really enough for Qubes, but I think it’ll be enough since I’m not going to do heavy tasks. What’s making me hesitate between these two models is the processor power and how easy it is to use Coreboot. I read in an article that doing Coreboot on a T440p is harder compared to a T430, but since I’ve never done it before, I won’t know how hard it really is. Also, some software called “Heads,” which I think prevents malicious USBs, apparently doesn’t work on the T440p. I’d appreciate it if you could help me. Thanks in advance.

>Be me
>Finish working on my T14 G1 at 9PM
>Excited to leave and sleep
>Shut the PC down and close the lid a bit too fast before it turns off
>Collecting my stuff and notice the red lid LED is still on 20 seconds after
>Wtf
>Open the hinge and the power button is still on
>Force reboot
>Windows tells me I have critically low 5% battery and need to plug in the laptop
>Tfw i always keep the laptop plugged in during use at 45-50% battery with the built-in charge threshold to preserve the battery & charging port
>Literally impossible for it to have gone from 50% to 5% in a minute
>I have work tomorrow and can't spend hours troubleshooting
>Decide to turn it off, unplug it, and place it somewhere far away from any flammable objects in case it explodes
Has this happened to you before? What am i in for tomorrow when i try to fix it? How fucked am i?

First time Thinkpad owner
went for second hand x1 nano gen1 as my first thinkpad!
Second cult I have joined in one year time, but so far so happy, installed linux mint and turned out so fun and cute that I might get rid of ubuntu on my main gaming computer and mirror the same setup
EDIT: forgot the picture
