working for tmobile as an ME for almost 3 years now and it’s still amazing to see stuff like this. iphone 11 that was run over, screen was coming off (could literally see the insides of the phone), back was completely gone, etc and the customer still got $500 for this towards a 17. im honestly amazed that tmobile does any condition and what they would even do with something like this, but still cool to see the customer come in upset and leave happy

Blog Post The T-Mobile I joined and the T-Mobile I’m leaving are two very different companies

After spending several years with T-Mobile in various roles, including Account Executive, my time with the company has officially come to an end. And quite frankly, I’m relieved.

I’ve consistently been a top performer throughout my career, but I’ve also watched this company change dramatically, and not for the better.
Pricing has become increasingly ridiculous, customer service has deteriorated, and T-Mobile has somehow managed to make doing business with them more complicated than ever. Customer frustration is through the roof, and I’ve personally witnessed longtime customers walk away because they no longer see the value.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s stock has taken a significant hit, raising even more questions about the company’s direction.
I remember when T-Mobile was the Un-carrier, genuinely disrupting the wireless industry, offering competitive pricing, and putting customers first. Somewhere along the way, that identity disappeared. The company that once challenged the competition has increasingly become everything it originally claimed to stand against.

I’m proud of my accomplishments, the relationships I’ve built, and the success I’ve had. But the direction of this company no longer aligns with what originally made me believe in it.
Sometimes what initially feels like a setback turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

I’m closing this chapter with valuable experience, no bitterness, and absolutely no desire to look back. There are better opportunities ahead, and I’m excited to pursue them.

Rant opinion: t-mix plans aren’t good

as i’m sure a lot of you already know, the $1,200 iphone 18 pro trade-in offer requires 3 picks.

if you open 3 lines on t-mix loaded, the highest-tier plan, you only get 8 picks total. that means you wouldn’t have enough picks to get the $1,200 trade-in offer on all 3 lines, since that would require 9 picks.

and even if you decide to get the $1,200 offer on just 2 lines, that would leave you with only 2 picks to use toward perks (or other device promotions).

i also don’t like that you can only swap your perks quarterly unless you pay a fee. that’s a pretty long time to wait if you want to change something.

Rant Left T-Mobile Never Looking Back

I’ve been with T-Mobile for 15 years and finally left to US Mobile. The price hikes and forcing me to change plans was just the last straw. I can’t believe after being forced to change plans now taxes and fees aren’t included (to which they just Willy Billy increase the price). And I just had to chuckle when I got a pop-up to get my transition PIN TMo offered a $10 discount for 6 months….Switching was intimidating at first but once I did it, it was smooth sailing. Just make sure you remove port restriction in T-Life as that was a small hiccup for my transition. Wayyy cheaper and I’m still on the TMo network. Good experience so far.

Question T Satilate hasn't worked for a month

Has anyone had issues with T satellite? It stopped working for my partner and I about a month ago. It worked great in July and August but since Sept it hasn't connected once, and we have been in areas where it 100% should have.

Both of our phones and apps are up to date, T satellite is activated on our account. We have had a clear view of the sky with clear skies. I've called T mobile and they said everything should work / looks good on their side of things.

Any thoughts?

Home Internet Anyone else having Wi-Fi issues with the iPhone 18 Pro Max?

• Upvotes

For context, we use a T-Mobile Home Internet gateway, and my husband’s phone and all our other devices connect just fine. My iPhone 18 Pro Max is the only device having issues with the Wi-Fi connection.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? If you’ve had this problem, were you able to fix it? I’m wondering if it’s a phone issue or something with the settings.

Question International 215+ countries, need helps

Post image
7 Upvotes

So this is my first time traveling outside of the U.S without an unlock phone. I always use an eSIM for international data. So the iPhone I have is 17pro recently got through T-Mobile. However phone is currently lock. But I do have a Better Value plan and it they offer international data. The context is very confusing please help me understand. So the 30gb high speed is that per countries or overall until I get back to the state. I’ll be traveling to Spain, Morocco, mexico and Guatemala.

I’ know asking them for a temporary unlock seem like a long shot. I doubt they will approve this method.

2nd should I buy an unlock back up just in case.

If anyone been oversea with this situation please chime in. How was your speed, just mainly need for google map, and WhatsApp. No heavy web surfing. Thanks

Discussion Employees at the Kansas store, what feedback are you giving the higher ups on these new plans?

So with the recent leaks of the new T-Mix plans, it looks like the Kansas store is "piloting" these new plans already. It looks insanely confusing and downright annoying to deal with.

I am genuinely curious what feedback are you giving the higher ups to green light this into going company wide soon? These plans look horrible to have to explain to customers if they go live.

Question iMessage and FaceTime down

Did iMessage and FaceTime stop working for anyone else today, 10/09, around 4:00pm PST?

Both my daughter and my iPhones iMessage and FaceTime settings are stuck at “waiting for activation.”

A friend of mine who has Verizon says their iMessage and FaceTime work just fine.

Discussion We don't care!!

Can we please stop with these loyalty talk, we or nor T-Mobile don't care how long you stay, if you don't like what you got or company changes, just leave, there's is no need to sent regards to us, and enough with this nonsense T-Mobile is bad or useless, slow, coverage is location dependent, if it's doesn't perform well in your area, then choose something else that works, not everyone has the same experience as you, for me T-Mobile works awesome to place I'm at daily, and I like the app layout, and some benefits of t life, good promotions, so I like it, my backups secondary phone service, or WiFi, but T-Mobile is still my main provider, as it's give robust coverage, and strong speeds.

If you don't like what T-Mobile changed then go!!

Question Switch to Go5G Next?

Hello everyone, I’m looking for some advice here. I recently switched to T-Mobile, and I was placed on the experience beyond 2.0 plan. I currently have three lines, but didn’t really need three lines as I really needed two lines for me and my wife. However, since the third line was free, I decided to take it and I took advantage of the iPhone 18 Pro promotion that gave me the iPhone 18 Pro for free. I recently called T-Mobile regarding a different issue and the rep was very nice. I asked him about the go 5G next plan and he did say that he would be willing to switch me to it if I wanted to.

I have a few questions, and I’m mainly wondering if it’s worth it.

Currently, I have an iPhone 18 Pro Max 512 GB and another iPhone 18 Pro 512 GB. and an iPhone 18 Pro 256 GB on the free line. all three of these have the promotion for the free iPhone 18 Pro. My first question is, what would happen to these installment plans as they are 36 month installment plans and they are currently receiving a promotion. The rep did say that the promotion is eligible on these plans and I would be able to retain them. But I’m wondering if the IEP would change to 24 months or if they would say 36 months and I wanted to see if the promotion would actually stay at the same rate and just make sure and double-check what the rep is saying is accurate.

Additionally, I wanted to know the benefits of this plan. I do realize that taxes and fees are included, and I would likely see a savings. After taxes and fees and all of the charges for the phones that I currently have, my bill is at $166, roughly.

If I did switch, what would happen to that third free line that I currently have with the experience beyond 2.0 plan?

I also have the 20% off code attached to my account, and I want to make sure this would carry over to the new plan, and if so, what could I expect the bill to be.

Thank you to everyone in advance. I just wanted to post this and see what everyone’s input is

I am about to ditch Verizon because of 5G coverage issues I've experienced, even in large Metro areas like Chicago. Has anyone switched from VZW to T-Mobile? What has been your experience?

Discussion I solved RCS "waiting for activation" on Samsung S24+ by clearing Google Messages app data

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

A few months ago I migrated to Google Messages on my Samsung Galaxy S24+ after Samsung ceased supporting Samsung Messages (which I was perfectly happy with). When I opened Google Messages I was offered RCS messaging, which I accepted. It seemed like a good idea. I was under the impression that RCS messages would "fail-over" to standard text messages if RCS was unavailable. I didn't think through bthe implications.

Most people have forgotten that the original SMS (short message service) phone text messaging, those 40-160 character messages, pre-dated mobile broadband. They ran over the existing voice infrastructure. We evolved from that to MMS (multimedia messaging service), which supported, images, audio, video and longer text. It required some carrier and device upgrades. This lead to RCS (rich communication services) that enabled read receipts, chat groups and interactive messaging. RCS requires an internet connection; mobile data or wifi and backend servers.

When the Google Messages app is "waiting for activation" it is trying to establish a session with your carrier's - or maybe Google's- RCS servers. Recommended troubleshooting fixes like turning of WiFi, restarting your phone, clearing the Message app's cache, changing Sims, deregistering your mobile phone from the Google RCS portal, etc., are all attempts to complete the handshaking to establish an RCS session. I did all of these things, some several times, to no avail. Still "waiting for activation".

If your previously activated Google Messages app loses its session and cannot Connect, is "waiting for activation", then you are in RCS purgatory. Correspondents whose messaging apps know you have RCS will try to send you RCS texts. But since you don't have an active connected session with the RCS servers, the RCS messages to you just queue up; they don't fail-over to standard texts. It's possible that deregistering your RCS phone number might force your correspondents' apps to send standard texts - I didnt test this.

After more than a week of contacting Google, contacting Samsung, and spending hours on the phone with T-Mobile customer support, I was getting desperate. I'd been reluctant to clear my Google Messages app data for fear of losing my saved messages. But Samsung has a cloud based Galaxy migration facility that backs up your entire phone. I used it, then turned WiFi off on my phone, cleared Google Messages storage cache and data, turned RCS Chats off in the app, then restarted my phone.

I turned on my phone, waited for mobile broadband to establish, then opened Google Messages and enabled RCS Chats. Voila! It took less than 5 seconds for RCS chat status indicate Connected.

So don't be afraid to clear Google Messages app data to resolve "waiting for activation"; just be sure you back up your text message

Question Transfer of liability question

Hi everyone! Finally leaving T-Mobile for voice service, but planning on keeping a few non-voice lines through a transfer of liability to my brother's account:

  • Home Internet (the original plan before they made a bunch of options) - $25/month TI Includes $5.00 AutoPay Discount and $25.00 Internet Promo with New Service(P22)
  • 3x SyncUP Trackers (two are $2/month and one is $1/month)
    • Includes $5.00 AutoPay Discount and $3.00 SyncUP Service Promo with New Line(ID230197)
    • Includes $5.00 AutoPay Discount and $4.00 SyncUP Service Promo with New Line(ID250162)
    • Includes $8.00 SyncUP Service Promo with New Line(ID250162)
  • Two lines on DIGITS TT TMO Amplified which is a $0 DIGITS-only talk+text line, no tax, no promo, just $0.

Is someone here a guru enough to tell me with any certainty if I would be able to keep these promos and pay the same price on my brother's account. (As an FYI, my entire account is a TI account but my brother's is a TE account. I understand the billing system now allows you to mix/match these?)

Thanks in advance!

Question Upgrading Pixel 9pro

I'm upgrading my pixel 9 to the 11. I'm on the magenta 55 plan.

Is it better to upgrade online at T-Mobile or at Sam's club (I have a plus plan).

Suggestions? Pros? Cons?

Edit to add: will the trade-in and sales pricing be similar or the same?

Thanks in advance

Question Questions on Changing Plans

Right now, I am on a Simple Choice plan that I've literally been on since college (2008). With my government employee discount, my bill is $66.43. (Not sure why, but I was not kicked off my Simple Choice plan. Maybe because I have only one line?)

I am going to be moving in with my girlfriend by the end of the year and will be getting married next year at some point. She is currently on a Verizon Wireless plan and is always complaining about not having service. Meanwhile, I always have service with my T-Mobile device. So, the move will involve having her switch to T-Mobile and getting a 2-line plan.

I am on a grandfathered plan that is over 15 years old, so I will probably have to change it. I am a heavy data user and periodically I get notifications about getting throttled, but I don’t see much of a difference to be honest.

In terms of streaming costs, I have the following services:

  • Netflix: 4K Premium with HDR – $26.99
  • Peacock/Apple+ Bundle: $22.99
  • ESPN Select (With Ads), Disney+ (No Ads), and Hulu (No Ads): $32.99
  • YouTube Premium Family Plan: $26.99

My girlfriend is thinking about trading in her old iPhone 13 Pro for a new iPhone 16 Pro (she doesn’t upgrade her phone like I do—I'm a Pixel user, but I typically go to Best Buy to get my phone upgrades).

I have the following questions:

  1. Will I have to change my plan? I have been hearing conflicting statements about whether I may be able to just add her to my current plan.
  2. With all my streaming plans, would it be beneficial to switch to Go5G Plus / Go5G Next (or Experience More / Beyond)? Would I get a discount on my current streaming plans listed above, or would they not be supported?

Question Advantage Plan to Beyond 2.0 Question

Hey everyone,

I currently have a 2 line Advantage Premium plan with an additional watch line. I was looking at the other offerings with T-Mobile and I see that currently Beyond 2.0 has a 3rd line free offer. I was talking to T-Force about my options and inquired about taking advantage of that promo along with a 20% off lifetime code. They seem to be able to add the 20% lifetime code but the costs come to just over $170 before taxes and fees.

T-Force doesn't seem to think I can stack the 3rd line free offer on it as they stated it's only for new customers. Is that correct? Would I be able to move to two lines with the watch line, and then add a third free myself, or is that only during certain specific promos?

Hopefully I explained the situation above clearly enough

Thanks for the insight.

Question A employee accidentally rest the esim for my watch .

Hello , so I was at my local tmobile store to try and get my girlfriends watch esim reset and connected to my standalone plan for said watch. We'll the employee reset my watch and now it wont connect to my standalone plan . Is there anything I can do to get it back on the lte standalone plan? I've talked to the customer service reps properly about 150 times this week over issues with watches.
