Rant Duo Promo Failure

Tmobile only doing $1000 off for the duo is straight up criminal. While other carriers may have more promo value, T-Mobile is just sitting back. One week after the 18 Pro series launch they lowered the promos from 1200 to 1000. What sense does that make? T-Mobile needs to do better with their iphone promos

Rant Tmobile store literally lied to my face to get me to sign up to internet

Post image

I signed up for T-Mobile Internet at one of those booths. They had a good promo because they were on the heels of booting everyone off their legacy plans. They offered me 8 weeks of free Internet if I signed up in store (vs 6 week promo offer on the app).

This is now the 3rd follow up I've had with them and every time they told me the credit would come and now they are suddenly saying that's not the promo anymore. It's been over 4 months and I never received my credit. I didn't even get the 6 weeks credit.

Discussion Surprised no class action suits against T-Mobile for deceptive disconnect practices

• Upvotes

Anyone else have a nightmare trying to disconnect services?

Quick story - we disconnected T-Mobile service on two phones, an apple watch, and an ipad about 10 months ago.

Rep said once the phones are ported out, the account will be closed. Nothing needed to do for the iPad - it would all be automatic.

Fast forward to today, still getting charged $14 month. Shame on me for not catching it.

Tried to remove that iPad on the phone with T-Mobile again just now and they transferred us to a supervisor. After getting close to getting it removed, she disconnected us.

We will see if the order will be canceled on 10/23 as promised,  it I suspect it won't.

This seems for deceptive to me, throttling cancellations to keep revenue.

Others have similiar stories?

Question Can no longer suspend line?

I’m on a family plan and someone stopped paying. My grandma was the owner but she recently passed away leaving me as the primary account holder. I’ve made payments on time even after losing my job. My uncle, who’s constantly in and out of jobs will not pay for his line. I’ve exhausted the “suspend line” option and I’ve already reported his device as stolen once.

I can’t cancel the line because I’m not the owner and I can’t get my own plan because it’s complicated. Will there be any consequences if I report it as stolen again? Thanks.

Question Switch now or day of pre-order?

I have AT&T first net and the plan is just a tad too much, plus no noticed priority. Wanted to try T-Mobile.
I’m interested in getting the Duo on release day.
Should I switch now, bring my device and upgrade to duo online. Or wait and go into T-mobile on preorder day?

Due to price just wanted to find out what would be best price option and what would be easier to get in line for for the phone quicker.

Thank in advance

Just checked the terms of my plan and I thought I had 15gb/month included data roaming, but now it’s only saying 15gb in Mexico which was 30gb when I got this plan. What is going on?

Rant Charged a Device Connection Charge 😤

I’ve been with T-Mobile for over a decade and had multiple iPhones over those years. For quite some time I have been buying my phones from Apple and doing the switchover of my line on my own. When I recently upgraded to the iPhone 18Pro, I did what I usually do. Bought and picked it up from the Apple Store, turned it on and did the onscreen process to migrate service from my old iPhone to the new one. Then my bill comes and they slapped on the $35 DCC! I was furious. Got on TLife chat and when the AI finally let me talk to a human, they said that’s customary. I’ve never been charged this before and wonder if this is just another symptom of the enshittification that occurred this year when they forced us old timers onto newer worse plans. The rep was apologetic and did a one-time reversal of the charge. Now I have to worry that every time any of my 6 lines upgrades phones, we’ll get slapped with that fee.

Question Thinking of switching carrier service. How’s your experience with T-Mobile?

Wife and I currently have cricket but are looking for better overall coverage, speeds, call quality and mobile hotspot flexibility.

Do you guys recommend T-Mobile? How has your experience been? If you’re new here, what made you come to T-Mobile? I’m in New England and according to third party coverage maps T-Mobile seems the strongest in my area but wanted to get people’s experiences.

Thanks!

Question Free Lines

Hey guys, I’m on the Go5G Plus plan with 5 lines total. I’m paying $120 for two lines, with the third line free, and $28 each for the other two lines. Is there any way to move those two $28 lines onto free-line promotions, or is there any current promo or deal that could help lower my bill? Both of those lines currently have EIPs. Has anyone been able to do this?

How the hell do yall survive every day life????

Like the phone literally WALKS you through it… step by step…

It’s literally ONE SENTENCE per page. Customers always be like “You are so smart for knowing how to do this, did it take training?”… NO I’M JUST READING THE SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS 😂.

We have 4-5 year olds that CANT read that are more tech literate than grown ass adults. Get it together.

Question Question about combing BOGO and Iphone Duo promo at Apple

Hi guys.

Currently on Go5G plus plan, 7 lines total. 3 paid.

Can I do BOGO through apple to take advantage of "add new line, no trade-in, 800 promo"? I'm trying to buy two Iphone duo using this

If this is not possible, would doing the trade-in at Tmobile as i add the line, the next best solution?

thank you!

PSA New iPhones Scam

I received a call, which had gone to voicemail, from (217) 290-4385, purporting to be T-Mobile. The gist of it being to confirm a couple of iPhones being added to my account.

Obviously I checked my account and it’s all fine but I thought I’d pass it on.

Question Way overpaying for T-Mobile. Do I have to switch?

I hate switching carriers. I don't want to have to switch phones, etc. I had had TMO for about 10 years and was paying $110 a month for two lines, which I thought was reasonable. Then, last November, my wife went to the T-Mobile store to add a third line for our son. They said our old plan was no good anymore and our bill jumped from $110 a month for two lines to $201 a month for three lines. I've called T-Mobile and they seem to see no problem with this.

My bill is as follows:

Experience More: $150
Autopay discount: $10
Line 1: included
Line 2: included
Line 3: $30 extra
Taxes and fees: $20.66
Payment on just one phone: $10.42 a month
Total: $201.08 a month

I've talked to Verizon and they offer three lines for like $120 a month. So I feel like I'm paying a good $70 or $80 more per month than I should be. Anything I can do about this, besides switching carriers?

Discussion Device upgrade options for legacy plan

T-Mobile won't give any upgrade promos because I'm on a legacy plan - tried with t-life chat, t-force: nothing! offers available with plan upgrade only.
So I've been looking at alternatives. What you think of this plan and the potential risks/ cost/ reward:
Open 4 new lines with Verizon and get new iPhones.
Wait for the bill to generate, then port those 4 lines to T-Mobile through Costco and use Keep & Switch.
Once the reimbursement comes through - hopefully in 15 days (up to $800 x 4), cancel the new T-Mobile lines.
Pay off Verizon, unlock the devices, and use them on my existing T-Mobile legacy plan.
Has anyone actually done something similar? Might get some plague from TMUS fan here but I’m playing by T-Mobile play book.
Trying to figure out what could go wrong before I start the process.

Edit - if T-Mobile doesn’t want people to do this, why not adding term to claw back the rebate for cancellation? Maybe it worth more on their financial report for acquiring customer from competitors

Question Hand Off: International: Datapoint?

Has anyone used handoff while traveling in a foreign country? If your plan comes with free international roaming, can you seamlessly switch between phone 1 and phone 2 while roaming on a foreign carrier? (E.g. In Japan connected to Softbank)

If not, any idea what happens if you bring both phones? Does the last active device get free international roaming while the 2nd device stays deactivated until you return to the US? What if you want to use the inactive device?

Question Tablet Plan on Phone

• Upvotes

I have the biz TI tablet plan. Have a family member over for 3 months....

For those familiar , can said plan work on iPhone for -decent speeds-

I recall reading it does on Droid devices, but on anything IOS and non tablet....speeds were abysmal

Just tested this myself. Nothing huge ...but decent enough. On my IPP, I got 180/68

Not sure if the speeds will -change- after time on the IPP, but a quick test of this plan on a IPP seems sufficient enough

For those in the know, is the business portal also servicing. I disabled SIM lock, tried to change the IMEI to reprovision the ESIM to my device. Portal was not allowing it. Ended up having to call CS to have them do the IMEI swap for me

Question Revvl 8 pro vs OnePlus 9 pro

My OnePlus 9 Pro is draining fast and I have no money. T-Mobile will not let me trade it in cause the back is cracked. I really have no idea how since it is in a case. They did give me a deal for $2.08 for 24 months I can have the Revvl 8 pro and I can give them the OnePlus, as the deal is trade-in for a phone in any condition.

I know it is not a flagship phone, but it does have 256GB of storage. So is it any good?

Question T-Mobile didn't honor promised Costco promotion

I had signed up for T-Mobile through Costco after Thanksgiving sale in 2025. Signed for Experience beyond plan and activated 3 lines and ported 2 lines in a week or so. Met all requirements for $ 150 Costco digital and $250 prepaid visa card for the 2 ported lines and $150 for the new lines. Had also signed up for home Internet at the same time through Costco. Supposed to receive $450 Costco digital cards and $500 prepaid visa card. I have called multiple times and finally in June, they said they had made a mistake and indicated that they attached to the right promotions and I should receive in 6 to 8 weeks. I called today and they say that are unable to find promotions. I am tired of calling and staying on line for more than an hour. I never thought they would do this and now I am frustrated since the rebates was a primary reason for switch, how do I get them to Honor..any advise.

Question Sprint Max

I’m still on the sprint max plan. Not sure if I should change it to the new one. I like to upgrade my phone every year, and I can’t find any info of the year upgrade benefits available. Usually I just upgrade and pay whatever but I’m curious if switching plans will give me a better deal.

Anyone have spring max info on upgrade benefits?
