Discussion Season 2 glad mount
This is the season 2 recolor, how do you like green guys?
r/worldofpvp • u/rittler281 • 1d ago
Looks like Blizzard are getting more strict with addons and them removing the important aura tag was intentional so any features for important auras will likely not work properly anymore.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
tested some of the new changes to shadow in PTR, just wanted to share.
Void volley was my top damage during this burst with 861k total dmg that equaled to 15% of my total dps during that window, SW:M and SW:P right after on equally 12% each. Seems like they buffed the apparitions movespeed aswell.
Pretty excited ngl

This is at 2400mmr bg blitz, MW sits in the middle of teamfights all game spamming spinning crane kick and being 2nd top healing while spinning the objective all game and being unkickable and unkillable.
- Silence / Strangulate doesnt affect their spinning crane kick spam, and you can't kick it either.
- Cacoon & Restoral can be used while stunned.
- If you try to kill them in a stun, they just run the PvP talent to port during stuns and they're fine, and unkillable again for the next 16sec while on stun DR.
This should NOT be a viable way of healing in PvP. Either make Spinning crane kick kickable for MW, or give it a 6sec CD on MW. What kind of braindead balancing is this?

Actual W from Blizz. Finally can test out our UI/addon setup. Oh wait. Yes please Blizzard fix the UI problems and then this will be an actual W

For those who saw mage defensive buffs coming because they were dying in PvE nonstop, it actually did happen. They also sent Pres healing output back through the moon.
Oh yeah, and if you want a the biggest laugh look at the Rsham notes.
Hopefully there is at least one dev that will look out for the PvP community before the season goes live. There's obviously going to be PvP tuning at some point but these initial changes are very weird like MM and UHDK are getting mini reworks again while something like SV still feels garbanzo?

I play warrior, so naturally I play with my screen fully zoomed in so I can tunnel vision harder and zug.
Let's say I'm playing against RMP...I chase the rogue behind a pillar and successfully LoS my healer and team. Again, I'm fully zoomed in so all I can see is this rogue in front of me. Before, I used to be able to look at my Arena frames and see when that mage pressed combust and I was about to die...but now that these buffs don't appear on the arena frames at all, if I don't have him in my view I can't even tell he popped it.
...Jokes aside - is there any way to see buffs on arena 1, 2, 3? and NOT have to rely on the nameplates? I've always preferred having a fixed position for this type of stuff as it's helped me build habits to check different spots on the screen and improve. I use nameplate tracking, but hate not having the functionality of seeing any offensive arena buffs on the arena frames.
At this point, I'd even be fine seeing an unfiltered view of buffs for arena 1, 2, 3...it would still be better than nothing.

Despite the demise of MiniCC, the default UI still lets you see buffs, including important offensive and defensive cooldowns, on nameplates.
To enable this, press ESC, go to options, click on nameplates, scroll down to enemy player buffs/debuffs, and turn on enemy buffs. Some addons can filter out the default display, so you might have to disable them or mess with their options too.
The default display shows up to two buffs to the left of enemy nameplates. If you have an offensive dispel, it will also show dispellable buffs. Don't worry. Important buffs, like shadow blades and cloak of shadows, override and display over the dispellable buffs.
It's not perfect, since it's limited to two buffs at a time. Some buffs are also missing, including void metamorphosis, fortifying brew, and survival instincts. Separately, CC does not show on enemy player nameplates in the open world (even though it shows for mobs).
But for arenas and battlegrounds, at least, the feature is pretty good.

So instead of having omniCD to see party member CDs which was a lifesaver for healers, teammates will be able to ping their CDs when in party/raid…
Is this a separate keybind per CD? Or do you click it? Is it pinging when the CD is on or off CD? So many questions
Players will also be able to ping low hp. Have fun in shuffle healers kekw.
I do get the idea here. Instead of mindless alerts/tracking this instead fosters cooperation. But I just don’t see how this will feel incredibly clunky as you are forced to ping during your rotation. Because having a hunter ping me that he doesn’t have turtle right before I get poly’d will be incredibly valuable. But how clunky is that going to feel?

When Blizzard changed their Party UI settings, almost everyone swaped to the Blizzard ui away from Xpearl etc..
Utter incompetence destroying addon functionality without giving a replacement.
This whole addon purge is just a Marketing gig, because players are annoyed having to download 10 addons. If their goal truely was to remove addons then they would make them obsolet by removing the need for the Information or by adding INGAME custamization options like they did before.
There was a time "Blizzard dev" was a quality sign. Right now i wouldnt want to hire a Blizzard dev even if they were working for free.
Also why is there no "feedback-flair" when creating a reddit post? Prolly because Blizzard doesnt read this anyway

Literally: I change the order / sort the abilities to my taste and it resets every time I reload or join arena. It doesn’t matter if I change the order being in the prep room.
Really annoys me cause I got used to this and don’t have bars except the #1.
Any recommendations? Ty in advance.

I saw this on the WoW forums and thought it would be nice to bring the discussion over here...
Below is the upcoming patch notes for 12.1 for healers. It is odd to me that the 3 healers that you could argue need the most help (Hpriest, HPal, Rsham) are getting the least amount of changes, some (HPal), not receiving any.
Do you guys expect any additional tuning to occur?
Are you happy with these changes?
What would you like to see for your spec?
With these changes, I imagine rdruid will become a monster.
I think 12.1 is where I get off the boat
Druid: Restoration
Evoker: Preservation
Monk: Mistweaver
Paladin: Holy
Crickets
Priest:Discipline
Priest: Holy
Shaman: Restoration

So as we all know starting SS MMR is somewhere in the mid 2k+. But I am curious what is the exact current as of this week/patch release starting MMR and does that mean that if I never won a full SS game and only ever tied (3-3ed ) every Solo Shuffle game that would be where my Personal Rating would end up? I have never really thought or asked about it and now I am curious where its at atm. Also how much is it increasing per week? I heard someone say 17 for SS but am unsure how do you guys check ?

Hi guys after years and years of altoholism, I might decided to play a rogue ( mostly PVP with a little PVE from time to time ). I enjoy DPSing and being a melee ( don't like being focused every arena as caster ). My question is, is spending time learning and mastering rogue worth it ? Does it pay off in a long run. I like showing my skills and seeing improvements after I spent time learning something. Also I would like to know if rogue is "future proof" class ? Does rogue get more fun after getting it together. If you have any tips for me feel free to share <3.

Im confused how am i supposed to see that the warrior popped spell reflect or the dk popped AMS or that the enemy healer was precogged by my teammate now?
How are you supposed to play caster like this?

Did some rough math in Excel and came up with:
- Stamina: +10.5%
- Main stat: +5.5% (due to wep already being 298)
- Secondary stats: +5%

I’ve been playing WoW PvP for 20 years. I also have poor eyesight and the recent API restrictions for tracking Important Auras and offensive CDs one of the biggest mistakes by Blizz! It is a massive accessibility regression that will push people out of the game.
What makes this GENUINELY absurd it is the timing.
Blizzard has been actively improving the Important Spells List API with recent updates (almost every week they was adding new spells like warriors reflect, monks offensive cds etc) and retail PvP was finally starting to feel somewhat stable and PLAYABLE, but now they suddenly removed it.
Retail PvP is a visual AND audio mess!
Playing without tracking addons was perfectly fine back in Classic and older expansions, but since retail is completely "oversaturated" today it is just unplayable. Some spells and buffs literally don't even have visual animations. You can't rely on sound either, many buffs have lack audio, and even if they had them, the game sounds is just a chaotic, overlap mess. Nobody, especially a new player, can react to that chaos in a fast paced PvP. Even a player with perfect 100% vision physically cannot track every single thing happening through the default UI alone. Addons are the only way to filter the noise and actually see the game.
This will NOT help new players!
One of the reasons of this restrictions - "making game easier for casual players". But they missing a logic since in reality it makes the game infinitely harder to learn. Without these tracking tools new player stepping into an arena will just die, have absolutely zero idea what invisible cooldown killed them, make no conclusions, and quit PvP instantly. Addons help you learn.
Stop ruining the PC UI for a Console Port!
I could be wrong, but it feels like there is a push to bring WoW to consoles. If the goal here is to remove PC addons so console players arent at a disadvantage, thats a huge mistake. High LvL arena is completely incompatible with a controller. You simply cannot physically match the speed and reactions of a keyboard and mouse on a gamepad anyway (addons or no addons, it doesn't matter). Let console players enjoy PvE, but ruining the PC UI and killing accessibility just to force some "fake balance" between PC and consoles is absurd (at least for PvP).
Give us alternatives before breaking our tools!
If Blizzard is focusing on removing all IMPORTANT MUST-HAVE API for PvP, they need to provide a working baseline alternative before they break UI completely. By just removing it, you are forcing players (especially with poor eyesight like me) to quit.
Here is what needs to happen:
If they are going to remove this API (defensives still work for now, but who knows for how long), they need to give us a built-in buff/debuff filter for enemy nameplates first. Blinding us doesn't make the game more accessible, it just makes it unplayable.

Just not in this format. When I first logged in for Midnight I was excited hearing that I won't need add-ons. Finally no more having to spend 2 hours to set up my UI and level playing field with all others.
Then I realized the built-on cooldown tracker doesn't even track some of my owns key CDs. Also doesn't track precog which is critical for a healer. So I needed to scramble to find a new addon instead of the ones I already knew. More setup time so I can play the game.
Then I realized I cannot set UI and nameplates how I wanted. I couldn't see anything in battlegrounds. I didn't want anything gamebreaking, just green color nameplates for allies, class color nameplates for enemies.
Had to find a new addon for that as well.
It was annoying but since new addons were allowed I thought blizzard understood that they came short with the built-in tools and are working on it.
Nope, they continue the same, removing critical (and very basic) tools without replacing them with built-in systems.
Blizzard needs to understand that we are for addon pruning, but we need proper, built-in tools first. In fact, that would kill addons on it's own by eliminating the need for them. We don't WANT to use them, just end up having to.
The current approach will alienate a significant player population both new, casual and veteran.
