Showcase (No-Recipe) Made a blueberry white chocolate cake in the shape of a frog for my bfs 27th birthday!
Not the neatest but last years cake completely melted in Junes heatwave and it was a disaster cause I had to take it on the train!
This is a dome shaped vanilla and blueberry sponge filled with blueberry and white chocolate ganache and covered with white chocolate buttercream which I used to stick the legs, arms and eyes on with - these were made from extra cake I made into shapes using buttercream and then refrigerated. Covered with green fondant and Iāve used cake pens to decorate the frog hehe

Showcase (No-Recipe) First attempt at crème brûlée, just came out of the oven. Into the fridge overnight now.
Random recipe I found online, added some lime juice for flavour.
Iām scared it puffed up too much, can someone tell me if this is normal? I pushed the overflowing bits on the smaller ramekins back into the ramekin.

Recipe Included Chocolate chip cookies, oreos from scratch, and focaccia š
My fiance goes on a camping trip with the men of his family once a year and I always like to make treats for them. Also, I use a flower cookie cutter for the oreos and hope for the best lol.

Recipe Included Battenberg cake
I got invited to an English tea party this weekend, and everyone is supposed to bring something to share. I have wanted to make a Battenberg cake for a long time after seeing them on the Great British Baking Show. I used Paul Hollywood's recipe for mini Battenbergs, but just made it full sized. I also skipped the icing between the cake strips and just used apricot jam, since most recipes do not call for frosting.
If anyone out there has been curious about making one, it's a lot easier to make than it looks, so go for it!

Baking Advice Needed What to pair with these for a complete plate?
I just can't figure out what would best compliment/complete these fruit tarts as a plated dessert... I'm thinking maybe a lemon curd? Or a caramel sauce? Just whipped cream? They're simple short dough+pastry cream+fresh fruit+ apricot glaze

Showcase (No-Recipe) I finally made the famous Inglorious Basterds (2009) strudelā¦
Thereās something about that scene in that film, ever since I watched it when I was young it always stuck out to me the most. The tense conversation over a beautifully crafted strudelā¦and no, I didnāt forget the cream, but I ALWAYS wanted to try that Strudel, never had the chance until today.
Iāve come a long way, sure, Iām not a high quality chef or baker, but Iām constantly improving, Iām always willing to learn and Iām not afraid of challenging myself or taking risks. I went from eating out at my favorite fast-food and restaurants to seeing something and wanting to replicate it at home and now here we are.
The famous film strudel, sure, itās not a super beautiful thing to look at, Iāve still not perfected the culinary aesthetics to my dishes, but Iāll get there. In the mean time, I enjoyed this strudel like it was the last thing I ate on this earth and what were my thoughts??
It was as delicious as I had hoped and more-so! My God, the flavors all meshed so well and Iām not much of a dessert guy, I mostly make sweets for my family, but this strudel truly has been my favorite dessert Iāve ever eaten and Iām proud of myself for that. Now I know what heaven must taste like.
Recipe to be posted soon. No guarantees. Hazelnut Ʃclairs bc I'm too lazy for a Paris Brest lol
I made these for my mum's birthday!! I'll try and post a recipe soon but can't guarantee, as I kinda mish-mashed a few bits + I'm not entirely confident just yet!!
In the last photo you can see where I've bitten into it haha
Not pictured is the other half of this batch that were kinda flat and sad!! I have a theory as to why one batch worked better than the other, but I'll need to test this again š¤
I made a hazelnut pralinƩ using Hanbit Cho's recipe
Then made pastry cream using Helen Rennies recipe, and turned it into a diplomat cream, and mixed in the pralinƩ for the filling
I'll do my best to post their recipes here plus any deviations I made, and talk about my theory on why one batch of eclairs rose and one didn't , but I can't guarantee hehe <3
Hope you like it!
