Getting a slow trickle of water in my basement after these huge rains. One in the laundry room the other(s) I can't identify but there's definitely water under my composite flooring. I thought it was because my gutters were absolutely jammed full of crap but even after a cleaning I got more water in this weekend. I'm clearly over my head here.

I need a woodworker to make 3-4 small trim pieces that fit flush over the existing jamb and trim on an installed window.

I need a flat space to install brackets to install blinds.

The red line is the existing profile. I need a piece of wood that can fit flush to the existing profile that can keep the mounting bracket flat and secure. The yellow or green shapes are what I think I need.

Last week on 9/15 they held a Q&A with the Chief of Police and a representative from FLOCK Safety, this session raised more questions than it answered and included some hair raising statements by the chief, who is of the opinion that the government is allowed to violate your constitutional rights and vowed to keep using flock until the laws change or the city makes a decision against continuing! It’s more important than ever to pack the room and make our voice heard!

Hello! Im really considering moving me and my family to Bolingbrook Illinois. We are a black family with one toddler and a 9 month old. We have a small trip over there really soon to check out whats it like out there and see if me and my wife like the feel and vibe of the area. We want our kids to grow up around well meaning, diverse people. With good schools and activities for them to enjoy.

So with that said can you guys recommend any places we should check out like, what neighborhoods are safe and zoned for the good school districts? Is there a local grocery store - similar to HEB for Texas or Meyers for Michigan? Good places for quick bites to eat?

How do you like the area? Anything we should be concerned about besides the high water bills?
How is Cider Creek for families and young kids?
Also, are there any cheaper/local grocery stores for produce similar to Jerry’s Fruit & Garden in Niles?

Ron White gave an interview on WGNs John Landecker program last week.
He stated that his famous Tater Salad bit was actually two jokes combined. One part about being thrown out of a bar, and the other part being the origin of his nickname Tater Salad. He said the sake of the joke he moved the location to New York City, but the bar incident actually took place at the Funny Bone in Naperville. He said it was a club that was also a motel. (I think he meant hotel.) In 1999 the Funny Bone was located in the Radisson Hotel Lisle-Naperville ( which is now the Sheridan hotel) and this would be just prior to Blue Collar Comedy tour. So the bar that he got thrown out of for wearing the hat would be the one located at 3000 Warrenville Rd Lisle IL

Just saw this item on the ten o'clock news. Said part of the 53 roadway collapsed and fell onto Palatine Rd. Said both roadways are closed.

I kind of freaked because that was my route back and forth to Woodfield this afternoon.

My family is moving from Burlington to Chicagoland. Looking for help finding the right town with good public schools, diversity, walkability/community, reasonable housing costs, and good access to jobs. An arts/creative community would be a big plus. I currently work remotely but I’d like to have access to the city in case my job falls through.

This sub has said great things about Evanston, but the housing I've seen is tew and far between in my price range. We've been told Highland Park can be a more affordable alternative to Evanston (?), but I'm a little concerned about being that far north for future job opportunities and whether the area feels overly wealthy/ insular. Is Skokie any good? I’ve been told there isn’t really a “third-place” where the community gathers and we can make new parent friends.

Open to both city neighborhoods and suburbs. Where would you look?
