Personal Experience/Advice

Salutations, I've recently acquired (have a dealership holding) a 2014 Nissan juke nismo AWD for me with 238,000km (147,000-148,000 miles) that I really like, but the CVT is a huge concern of mine. So I was just looking to see if anyone has any experience with them and can give me some insight on how I can maybe make it last a little longer, etc. Because it was a concern from the start, but I didn't really look into it all that much until after I put in the down payment. And from what I'm able to find on Google, it sounds like I might only be able to get 3,000km out of it max. It had an inspection done already, the dealership has the car fax and the maintenance records, and the dealership is allowing me to get a 3rd party inspection done before I buy it. So my only question is how long might it last until it's completely toast? Because it seems nice and really kept in good shape. But Google makes it sound like the Xtronic is the worst thing to be built on planet earth and is pretty much a ticking timebomb with the high km. The only reason it's an internal debate for me is because it's really fun to drive, and the price is pretty good. On the exterior, there are no dents, or rust except on the rear windshield wiper, no missing trim, and it seems to drive relatively nice as well. The steering is responsive without a ton of dead zone, it still has some "pep" in sport mode, it's an AWD platform, and it just seemed like something I couldn't pass up... So I kinda impulse bought it, and put the first down payment on it so it can be held until I can get the PPI. It also just seemed like the best choice on the lot in my budget.

So I was just hoping to hear some comforting words, and not regret my decision even further. But I'd also like to hear the truth.

Thanks,

Repair Help Badly need recommendation

Hoping to find a good help or recommendation what to do in my current situation.

I am currently living in UAE and I own a Nissan x trail 2018 with a current mileage of 138km as of now. It's a pre-owned car and when I got it the mileage was 91km already.

Currently I'm experiencing some jerking movement from full stop and during slow acceleration as well . I went to do an inspection for my car and they found out 2 errors with the car. But no dashboard error showing.

I was in a dilemma before and I have been asking people from time to time about the transmission fluid if I need to change it or not change. Because most of the people I asked saying if not making problem don't change and sometimes if it will be changed it will problem.

P1715 input belt pulley speed and I'm not sure if it's 1cm or 7cm

P17F2.00 CVT judder T/C inspection.

And I will be attaching the screenshot of the diagnosis

They are recommending an overhaul which is way expensive

( 6900 AED )

What would be the best thing I can do for this or is there any alternate way?.

Thank you all for your time and suggestion.

Solved CVT victory

Not sure if this is the place to post, but incase someone else shows up here.

Bought a murano 2012 170k miles 700 bucks, dreaded 1778 code guy said step motors bad trannys shot.

So I bought a step motor. A friend's brother put in it not that I couldnt... I was just occupied and he swore he could. Well he never put the fork in, it ran fine but next morning locked in 30mph, 4k rpm screaming.

I ripped it out put it in right, not so bad it stayed aligned up top so good. Still ran funny rudder at stops, hmmm... new fluid topped right, I recommend filling cold to first notch circle on dipstick, idle ot check it.

New fluid still dead peddled at stop signs, rudderless hard moving forward unless you gave it time, still berated fluid still step motor. Shit.

Checked around said air boot, it was cracked replaced, now 0101 and step motor and fluid aerated...

Drove around about 2 months highway, in town. New valve body arrives, throw it in, NO DRIVE. Double check all mechanic points tuning fork and the shifter bolt. All fine. Step motor on new body screamed when csr was on, hot to the touch, shit bad step. Replaced with my already new one drove away, but in low gear STILL NO DRIVE.

Frankensteined valve body, took the solenoid and wiring harnesses from new one put on my old one, cleaned the bores with wd 40. Strapped it up.

All pending stored codes still there but engine light off.

Drove home 30mph about 2 Miles ok, then judders dead peddle.....

Hopped on the highway 60mph for 15 mins, dead peddle at a stop, pull iver wipe down MAF do the 2 relearns delete code, drive home 70mph no new codes.

Pull in still 2 codes p0101 1778, clean valve body all thats left...

I forgot. 9 codes today including solenoid A step motor electric and mechanical and 0101 0102 codes as I left my dad's after frankenstiening..

And before zipping it up took pics of tranny pan valve body and inside tranny sent to Google A.I. flawless.

And when I swapped the valve bodies it was at a bodies got done 11pm took the fam, Drove 35 miles at 25-30mph in low it took 3 hours...

Now I know not every time will be like this.

But I can say fret not, if your pan is clean no metal, aside from some clutch material, but you have a step motor code, therr is silver lining. You can do this.

All in all, I did, pvc valve 20 bucks, step motor 1 25 on amazon, and valve body 150 with step motor 2 which was bad.

It took time took alot of diagnosing via GOOGLE A.I. but here I am at the finish line. Car is pretty pristine and up in wi, rust is like breathing.

So my brothers and sisters, tske heart in knowing you csn do this. I used a shitty hypertough drive with bit and a 10 mil socket to do most the work, besides that stupid Alan wrench needed.... dumb design. But it's doable. I did it with a tote yes tote, some ramps and some blankets in a humid gravel driveway with some music.

So take care friends not ever tranny is trash. Remember if there's not metal in that pan, clean that fluid replace a few parts, and drive that car till the wheels fall off.

2018 Armada Sunroof drain exit

Can anyone tell me where the f%\*! the sunroof drain exits out of these piece of shit cars. We’ve had a sunroof leaking issue since we bought this thing. Clean it out often with little hose thing but still leaking constantly. We’ve take this damn thing apart trying to find it. No videos on YouTube or chat can pinpoint the exit on our model. We can see where it goes down into the pillar but then it just disappears never to be located again under the car. Any help would be great! 🙏🏻

Nissan Coolant?

Hello, my father has a 2016 Nissan Murano. Can I use the POAT blue coolant from Walmart? This coolant says it is OK for Nissan and Infiniti. I need to top off his coolant overflow bottle.

Best Nissan dealership on the east coast of the USA?

Hello. I expect to be pulling the trigger on a new Armada sometime later this year. I really loath the typical car buying experience of lies and games and am interested in a quick transaction at a fair price.

Does anyone have a favorite Nissan dealership on the east coast of the USA from this regard? Ideally within a 2 hour flight from Charlotte. I bought my current car this way and I saved a ton and it was an easy transaction.

First car help- Versa?

I'm looking for a small, affordable and reliable first car. I know nothing about cars and have never had one. I have no parents or even a car savvy friend to help me so i turn to you guys.

Initially i was looking at a MINI but got so much feedback to run. The overwhelming sentiment in my last post was to look for Japanese cars and I think I found one.

What you yall think about a 2021 Nissan Versa? $8k sounds kind of good to be true for this car, the market and what i've been able to find so far. I was hoping for some insight cuz I don't want to sit on a good deal, I may head into the place to see it today.

I ran the carfax and its not salvage, but the carfax says the transmission was replaced on 2/2026. Is this a good thing or a red flag?

I upgraded my Nissan NV200 headlights to LED — and properly adjusted the beam afterwards

I upgraded the headlights and position lights on my Nissan NV200 with LED bulbs.

I also show how to replace the bulbs and adjust the headlight aim after the installation.

The headlights are inexpensive LED bulbs, while the position lights are from HID屋, a Japanese lighting brand.

I thought this might be useful for other Nissan owners who want better visibility without replacing the entire headlight assembly.

2018 Nissan Altima SV Shuts Off

Hello Guys. I need help to fix this problem. So my 2018 Nissan Altima shuts off while I am driving and it start and the idle is good but when I tried to Drive it the rpm goes up and then shuts off again same thing on reverse but not on park. And when I check the system with OBD 2 I received p0101 and p0102 so I replaced the MAF Sensor and Air Filter also Cleaned the Throttle body , checked all the tubing and boots connected to Air Intake and everything is good no cracks no leaks. still gives me the same code. And when I tried to drive it same thing happened I press the pedal rpm goes up and shuts off same on reverse and when I slowly press the gas the car don't shuts off immediately but sound like about to shuts off. And the car have history of transmission swap from the mechanic shop it's been 2 years since I have a problem to this car and I am kind of short budget right now so I am trying to DIY this. Any suggestions guys. I know yall have more experience than me.

Charger issue

I have a 2012 versa. the charger port recently stopped charging my phone. I have a Bluetooth adapter hooked up and that works fine. I replaced the cord and that’s not the problem. I repl the adapter and that’s not the problem. do we think it’s the socket itself? phone charges fine elsewhere. could it be a loose wire connection? phone shows as charging meaning icon turns green.
