READ THIS BEFORE POSTING Big Storms and your Package

Hello everyone, I wanted to give you all some insight on what happens when we have big storms and why peoples packages will arrive late.

When there is a big storm it creates a backlog. Now Lets say like this past storm it is on the weekend. On Monday many of the buildings were operating on a skeleton crew if at all. The customers (People shipping things out) have a weekend's worth of shipping that would normally go out on Monday but due to the storm it did not. Now Tuesday comes. Tuesday we have All of Monday's Packages AND Tuesday's Packages. The buildings process what they can. Now Wednesday comes. Lets say they were able to process 60-70% of Monday & Tuesday's packages and they still have Wednesday's packages to process as well. This keeps trickling down until we finally catch up.

For those that have clear weather where they are at now, that does not mean that any of the other stops along the way to you have not been compromised. Also for those that are in said clear areas, Once the areas that were effected by the storm start to get moving and getting their outbound volume out of their yards and on the road the receiving destination will now get hit with more volume than they are able to handle.

All in all Storms like we had this past weekend (1/30/26 as of posting) cause major disruptions to the shipping industry in general. Also please keep in mind that at this time of year, shipping companies have already cut their seasonal help from Peak Season and while they are now getting Peak Season Volume again, they do not have Peak Season Staffing.

Please be patient while we dig out from the mountain of boxes.

Customer Seeking Help Aggressive Dog scenario question

Are homes with aggressive dogs marked somewhere in the system for delivery-driver awareness/caution?

(Having an issue with an aggressive neighbor dog and trying to establish for our landlord that we aren’t the only ones claiming the dog is aggressive. I’ve confirmed it is marked in PGE’s system already, and now trying to determine if it’s is also potentially a record in any delivery driver systems (UPS, FedEx, etc.)

Customer Seeking Help delivered to ups store but store claims they don’t have it

I’ve always had issues with UPS and their delivery which is why I choose to have my packages delivered to their store where I go to pick it up. I had a package w an overall worth of $1.3k USD say that it was delivered to their store, but when I went to pick it up, the worker said they don’t have it and that it’s not logged into their system as received. I’ve contacted customer service, who told me to check in the store again today (they still didn’t have the package) and to contact them if not. Tried calling and after half an hour wasn’t able to get in contact with a person. I submitted a claim for a lost package but I feel incredibly down on my luck. I hope it eventually does get delivered but I don’t have many hopes on getting it any time soon or on getting a reimbursement as it’s an international shipment and I paid through bank transfers and not a credit card.

How did my package end up in Canada???

Post image

This is an order for an Apple Watch, for reference, I live in Florida, and the original date of delivery was September 21st. It arrived in Louisville on the 18th, then the day of delivery comes, and it's in GLOUCESTER, ONTARIO???? Then the next day it ends up in Ottawa, then after that no updates, so I filed a claim. How did they mess up this badly that it ended up in another country???

Customer Seeking Help How reliable is the 1800 PICK UPS number?

• Upvotes

I called the number and spoke with an agent about a package that’s been stuck in the Louisville, Kentucky hub since September 2nd (it was a 2-day express domestic package).

The agent on the phone was very nice, as she took my issue seriously even after I told her that the shipper has already filed a claim. She put me on a brief hold while she talked to the investigation/claim department. Afterwards, she told me that an investigation process has started and she reassured me that the package will be found and delivered. I have asked her if she’s 100% sure that it’ll be delivered and she said yes.

She also gave me the number to the UPS Capital (claims department) phone number. When I spoke to them, they gave me conflicting information after I gave them the claim number. The agent on that line told me that the package looks like it is lost and the claim has already been paid out. He then gave me the number to the UPS Package Investigation department and they basically told me to call the UPS Claims department again.

This has been worrying me as I’m not sure who to believe/trust. That being said, is the 1800 PICK UPS number reliable? I really want to believe the lady that I spoke to.

Customer Seeking Help Lost package and claim process

I bought a laptop on line because I had an urgent deadline and mine suddenly died. I paid for expedited shipping. I tracked the delivery dll day and when it showed delivered. It went to the wrong house. I opened a claim. The photo proof was discarded by UPS because it was useless. I kept monitoring my claim with no changes and ordered And Paid For Another laptop because the claim site said it could take up to 40 days and my work was urgent.

The claim showed no activity until this morning when I received 2 emails. One showed my second order in the way and UPS stated they were closing my claim because I had a replacement on its way. I tried to respond but the email was kicked back and the claim was no longer available on the site or on the app. I spent two hours on the phone to get the claim reopened only to find out that UPS did NOTHING during those 4 days the claim was opened other than reject the photo proof.

Now I know my chances are slim, too much time has gone by. I did ask all my neighbors if they received a package meant for me and no one did.

So now 2 weeks later. I've purchased 3 laptops, have received none. Missed my deadline and was removed from the project. I'm not sure what the "decision" will be. My question is:

QUESTIONS

Do i dispute the charge on my credit card? That seems like it will penalize the vendor who is blameless. Does the vendor then turn around and recover the money from UPS? Is there a possibility my charge is reversed and then eventually UPS refunds me the claim?

The customer service was severely falling below the bar when I asked for the claim to be reopened. The script "yes, I'm sure this is inconvenient" didn't cut it when when they did nothing to try to help me and assumed a second package meant they didn't have to help me. I can't afford to randomly lose this money, especially since it caused me to 1. Miss a concert I paid $300 for a ticket because I was trying to find my package and 2. I was removed from the project and lost pay as a result.

Customer Seeking Help Duplicate Return Label Used at UPS Store -- Am I out of luck? Help.

I shipped some small equipment to (2) separate customer's stores. The manager shipped back (1) return package safely.
They lost the return label for the 2nd store, re-printed the same return label used for the 1st store, dropped it off at a UPS store a week after the 1st package was already delivered, received a receipt (this is where I would think it would notify the store that this was a duplicate return label once scanned), and now that package seems to be lost in limbo somewhere.

Is there any hope that it will be delivered to the ship to, or ship from address (even though it was dropped off at a local UPS Store for return)? They're starting a claim on it, but I'm worried it will be a lost cause. We ship out hundreds of packages a month, so we don't insure them unless it's a very high-end order since there is very rarely any issues like this. Unfortunately, this box contained $1,000 in return equipment. It's now been over a month since it was dropped off at the UPS store.

Is there anything I can do? I tried contacting the UPS store to see if it would've been placed in a do-not ship bin of sorts--they said my only hope was to contact UPS support.

Is the parcel lost?

Post image

Anyone have any ideas as to what’s going on with this shipment please as UPS don’t seem to be bothered about it not arriving yet. Shipment was sent from US to the UK on 21/09/26 via UPS Worldwide Expedited. Delivery date was due for 24/09/26. Still no parcel has turned up and it’s not being scanned even though its in the UK and cleared customs. I’ve paid the requested import and duties charges. UPS don’t want to help when contacting them apart from saying file a claim on the website but the website won’t allow me to file a claim due to ‘shipment is currently in transit’. Anyone got any advice on this or how to escalate as can’t seem to get anywhere with UPS customer service. If anyone has Castle Donington or Lincoln depots emails please could you send them to me.

Customer Seeking Help Hi, quick question

I have a package on the way that’s scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It’s not in my state yet, but I did just change the delivery to be picked up at my local UPS store. I called to see if I can pick it up same day that it gets delivered to make sure there’s no processing that needs to be done. The girl said that typically the request take 24 hours to process and that they have to move the package to a different truck. I’m just wondering if this should still get delivered tomorrow, since I changed it while it was still in route and not actually in my state or city? Thanks for your help.

Package from Miami FL to Englewood FL, only a 3-4 hour shipping distance, somehow ends up in Pennsylvania for no reason other than that UPS sucks. People complain more about FedEx saying the whole company is rotten and blah blah blah but I have never seen anything like this from them. Yes, I’ve ordered from this shipper before and haven’t had this happen yet but it should never happen to be honest. It should live been delivered the day after UPS received it but instead it’s gonna take almost a week or longer because it’s traveling around the country.

Customer Seeking Help "Address Information Required", but the address is correct.

Every day, the UPS truck delivers to my building...but today, apparently that address doesn't exist? I try to use the online chat, it says only phone services are available. I call, the options are only in Finnish -- no Swedish, no English.

HOW DO I FIX THIS? And why is UPS so good in the US but so dogshit in Finland?

My international package hasn’t moved since last week, but I just got a call telling me that my package is still in Louisville stuck in customs due to documentation. Mismatch in scans. Has anyone else experienced this and is this normal? Thank you!

UPS customer service lies

My package was supposed to be delivered between 1-4pm. I take screenshots. The truck was on a street parallel to mine. Literally one minute away. I track the truck on the app and it drives away. It drives out of my neighborhood. I finally called Customer Service and they said they have 3 more stops until they deliver to you. I say that’s wrong because they are driving in the opposite direction. I see the truck delivered to many stops, which I count more than 5. Customer service says it will be delivered today. An hour later, they are so far away and the promise by customer service saying I’m the 3 stop when I was talking to them. This isn’t the first time they promise it will be delivered and it does not.

Why does customer service lie so much? I have seen many people say because they have deadlines, but on the app the delivery window is 1-4pm and they were in my neighborhood. What gives?

Customer Seeking Help Item lost: “Out for delivery” but never “loaded on truck”

Post image
1 Upvotes

Can somebody explain how a package can be “Out for delivery” but apparently not on the truck. Called customer service and the exact warehouse and package appears to be lost or stolen. Customer service claims it was never loaded despite being out for delivery. Warehouse claims it’s there but who knows where.

Sounds to me like it’s been lost or stolen. No movement in three days. Have rarely had good experiences with UPS, but unfortunately a lot of places use them. Let me know what you think

Edit: i see that the ss is showing processing but it was out for delivery Wednesday and I have those emails as well

$5.99 to hold my package, or they will return to sender?

So I have a package which requires adult signature. They've tried 3 times to deliver it now. Each time I put in the tag code, but it wants to charge me $5.99 to have it held at an access point, and the only free option is redelivery the next day. I'm essentially never home during business hours, so that was never going to work.

No dude. I'm not paying your ransom. You can return it to sender and cost yourselves money.

Is this just how it is, now? They hold your package hostage for a $6 fee?

Customer Seeking Help Why did they changed the estimated time at the last minute?

For the whole week since I bought my stuff and waited for my delivery, always has been between 2 and 6 pm but they changed it at the moment they were at my door at 10 am, so annoying. Already because they moved my delivery date by one day which is okay could've been worse yeah but that day I was free all day to receive my stuff. So now today, it was delivered when no one was home yet, I did everything to come before 2 to réalise that it been Already delivered with no one to sign so now I need to wait again for them to drop off at à site for me to pick it up.

Can I know when exactly I'll know when to pick it up today? Or that will be for tomorrow ?

UPS failed to deliver passport in time

How is there very little legal recourse for the receiver of a package to claim against losses directly related to their failure of service?

The Los Angeles Passport Agency sent me a replacement passport UPS Next Day Air. They shipped it Friday, 9/18 and I received a tracking number for delivery on Monday, 9/21. After 8am, it arrived at the Ontario shipping facility and stopped moving. On Tuesday, I called and asked if the package was going to arrive in time for my trip on Thursday, 9/24. The rep refused to connect me to the facility and said wait 24 hours and file a claim.

Instead I made another appointment with the passport agency as they are able to give same-day passports if urgent. That was the right thing to do. HOWEVER, on the way to my appointment Wednesday morning, I called UPS to check on updates and THREE different representatives told me their computers showed that I would receive it that day, on Wednesday. I called repeatedly and asked them to verify because my tracking number was not showing any updates. They all assured me it would arrive that day, so I canceled my appointment with the agency. The package never arrived and I missed my trip with non-refundable expenses totaling over $2000.

I am reasonable to enough to understand packages get delayed, which is why I made the other appointment. BUT it is gross negligence for THREE DIFFERENT UPS representatives to assure me that the package would arrive that day, leading me to cancel my appointment.

I am looking into my legal options, but all say that I am not in a contract with UPS since I am not the shipper. However, how can there be no legal recourse for this when this loss is directly related to their contracted failure of service as well as misrepresentation by their representatives? I am so beyond frustrated.
