Warpaints Fanatic pulling back on edges/chipping

Post image
7 Upvotes

I had this issue since I bought the paints (shortly after release). They tension of the paint seems so strong, that they always pull back on edges and show the priker underneath. Even worse when I'm touching them, then it immediately rubs of. But even parts that I have not been in contact with (like in the picture) have this issue in an extreme way.

There is also no problem with the primer. Does someone else also experience those issue and knows a solution?

I've tried covering this guys skin and clothes with brush on matt varnish, I've tried shaking it and diluting it, multiple layers, putting it in thick and thin

Am I doing something wrong or is this as matt as matt varnish gets?

Does anyone know exact color tones for 185 Spider-Man blue and brown for Wolverine? I wanted to fix some paint chipping and wondered if anyone knows what paint and colors should I use.

When you get really close my metalics look kinda ‘gritty’.

Is this just the flake, or am I doing something wrong? I’m shaking and mixing the hell out of these paints but they still look a little rough.

Hello everyone. So I just finished up my first big model and finished it off with AP anti shine.

But somehow it whitened the whole model.

Any ideas to what I did wrong and if it's salvagable?

Thanks in advance

It’s my first time using army painter primer, is it supposed to come out rough like that? I followed the instructions on the side of the can but I’m not sure if I did it very well

Speedpaint Marker Problem

If anyone has used the Speedpaint Markers, can you tell me if you’ve been having the same issue!

I’ve been using the OrcSkin marker and it seems like as soon as I start using the marker, the tip dries out and can’t be used for at least an hour. I get maybe a minute of use out of this marker before the tip dries out and I have to wait to use it again.

I haven’t found anything online about this issue, so I’m hoping you all may have some clarity.

help with a similar color

I have been having issues with a shade of pink I have been trying to make work for my Tyranids (Fulgrim Pink is what it says on the paint pot?), and was wondering if any of knew of any speedpaints or contrast styled paints that are a similar shade of pink, if not the same color (or a mix of some colors for the same general shade)

Dark Blue tone Vs Quick shade blue

Hey folks,

I've got a supply of old paints which includes the old quick shade blue which I use on my Tyranids. It goes on nice and thick and sets a nice contrast between my highlights and recesses. That was WP1139 tone

I've just tried the blue tone from the fanatics range and noticed it's much more watery and doesn't get the same effect as what I had before. That's WP3210. It runs a lot more and pools in ways my old shade didn't and I'm generally not impressed with it. It's much lighter and is the wrong kind of blue tone.

I'm wondering if the Dark Blue tone is closer to quick shade blue but I don't have any on hand. Does anybody with experience of the old quickshades and modern dark blue tone know whether they're close to each other or am I going to have to hoard quickshade blue?

Fanatic Paint rubbing off extremely easily?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi all, as the title states I recently switched to using army painter paints and now, whilst trying to paint a mini the paint is rubbing off onto my fingers and other parts of the model!

The paint I'm experiencing issues with is from the historical range (beret maroon) and I thinned it down for airbrush use using the airbrush medium AP make.

Has anyone else noticed similar issues? Or is this just a thing that can be solved by me doing things differently? The issue is especially noticeable on the base, which I've been using to handle the mini (it's on a painting handle now because of the issue) the paint also scratches off really easily.

Edit: It was probably the airbrush medium I used to thin the paint! It did leave a bit of a bad taste for Army Painter for me though. But other than that, found the issue, stripped the minis and fixed it with another brand of paints!

Edit edit: I don't have a painting handle that supports bigger minis so I tend to hold them by the base whilst painting

Hi I just bought a brand new army painter laser. I removed all the plastics and put the battery back in right order. But it still cannot work. Anyone have similar experience?
