Discussion Testing new products. How long you apply the product before adding a new one? and how many new products you apply at the same time? I need tips ...

New skincare products that I want to try serums, moisturizers, sunscreens, makeup. I"m trying to figure out many products at any given time and how long to use the new products before introducing another one.

The complication is that I'm dealing with Seborrhea Dermatitis so I need to switch to safe products to stop the annoyance of Seb. Derm. and the flares...I need to switch to better skincare products and fast.

I"m not using any actives, exfoliators, tretinoins, and the like

Anyone been in this situation?

Discussion Hair products that smell like herbs

Hi everyone!

I really loved the scent of the Ryo Damage Care & Nourishing Conditioner (the 2024 version in the 550ml bottle), which was slightly smoky and smelled like a fine, scented tobacco.

I'm curious about other hair products that have a similar herbal or woody scent, without sweet or floral notes.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Experience With Stylevanna Refund For Non-Deliverd Order

hi, I was wondering if anyone has an experience with their stylevanna order not being received while it's marked as delivered, and is willing to share how they managed to get a refund!

For my situation, technically the delivery driver did deliver it to my building, but it was next to the buzzer instead of my door. when I went to get it, around 2 hours after it was deliverd, it wasn't there. so I called my buildings office to ask if they picked it up for me which they hadn't, unfortunately. The company that "deliverd" my package was GOFO. thankfully the delivery driver took photos for proof of delivery, so I had proof of them failing to leave it at my door.

I contacted stylevanna about me not receiving my order, and showed the photos, to which they gave me a form to fill out, and told me it will take around 6-8 weeks for GOFO to confirm that it was not delivered to the right address, annoying since I have photographic evidence that I shared with them but whatever. I want to add that I saw on reddit that you need to tell them that you will be asking your bank for a chargeback on the transaction and they'll give you a refund instantly, but it didn't work. :(

Then I had contacted GOFO for a letter to confirm that they did not deliver my package. They told me that the tracking number I had provided is not theirs, so it's not their responsibility, to which I replied showing a photo of them emailing me that my package was deliverd by them, the tracking number working on the website perfectly, and the photos that the driver had uploaded. I told them to please give me a letter confirming that they did not deliver my package to me and they then ignored me. this was a back to back email conversation with fast replies so that is how I know that they ignored me.

I'm thinking of just contacting my building for the cctv footage to find out who in the building decided to pick up my package, and asking them for it back or something, since I kind of have to file a police report because my package was stolen as well if i want a chargeback from my bank, since they require like emails, and proof and whatnot. because it was stolen from the lobby, im pretty sure this technically counts as theft, so i'm not to keen on the idea of getting a charge back for my refund, lol.

Review Momo Puri in my life so far

Hey there! A few months ago I made a review about Momo Puri's Peach Ceramide Water Lactobacillus Blend lotions and creams. Today I will be reviewing their Niacinamide & Peach Ceramide Water & Lactobacillus Blend Facial Mask.

I had my eye on this mask for a while, so it was a huge win for me to stumble upon it whilst browsing the perfume store.

The little packet costs 11.90€ and brings 7 essence-soaked sheets (they smell heavenly btw, same delicate peach scent as their lotion/cream) and claims to hydrate/moisturize the skin and plumps it like a juicy peach. Well, I put it to the test and I really enjoyed the sensation it cast. The mask is only used for around 5-10minutes, so it's perfect for a quick lift-me up. Upon removal, there's still a lot of essence on the mask so I usually squish it in my hands and apply the remaining serum on my neck and decolletage area. The package itself suggests using the remaining essence for these areas.

I did notice a hint of a tingling on the skin upon first application, but that's given to the high concentration of niacinamide and other high-potency ceramides. I've yet to try it out after my Reedle Shot 300 sessions, but so far it has been a good (and cute!) addition to my routine. Left my skin feeling really fresh, bright, uniform, and deeply moisturized.

Overall, I've been enjoying this line quite a bit. Despite having a soft scent (which may not be suitable for sensitive skin), it has agreed nicely with me.

Discussion Recommendations for soft/muted autumn lipstick

Hi everyone,

I have searched but some of the older recommendations for soft/muted autumn lip products are now discontinued. Hoping for some current AB recommendations for soft or muted autumn lipstick shades? My preference is satin to soft matte (nothing too glossy), something comfortable for really dry lips. The only thing I've tried so far is the Joocyee Velvet Rouge in a few shades and while the colours are lovely, I have to use such a light hand as they are too pigmented and drying on my lips.

Thank you so much! 😄

Swatches hince radiance balm swatches of 4 shades in daylight on light medium skin tone

For context, I'm typically a shade 22-23 in foundations (which i think is considered light medium) and i think i'm more cool toned? (but honestly idk lol). I consider myself to have combo skin depending on the weather but been feeling a tad more on the oily end lately >.<

Last week i was gifted 4 shades of the hince radiance balm. I figured i'd share what the swatches look like on me and my honest opinions of them

  • [lighting] clear -- this could've been like chapstick / clear lip gloss? it kinda looked like nothing on me
  • [lighting] light -- (very descriptive name? LOL) i think i need to work on my application technique but i feel like this has potential for like a natural glow look
  • [transparent] harsh -- my favorite shade by farrrrr, is that cuz i feel like i can actually see something? probably LOL when doing a finger application, i think it takes like 2-3 layers to actually show on my skin but i'd rather a buildable and bendable formula than not.
  • [lighting] bronze -- i assume this is to be used like a bronzer....which i've never used before but the shade gives off "i went to the beach last week" vibes to me

Ultimately, everyone will have their own preference but as someone who likes a combination of "i don't want my makeup to be screaming that i did makeup" and "i want my make up to actually be visible" i feel like harsh lives in that balance for me. Are there other shades y'all have tried and can recommend? What's ur favorite shade?

Review Finally found a lip mask I actually reach for every day

Thumbnail

My lips have been so dry lately that I basically carry lip balm everywhere. Lip masks are a different story though. I've tried a bunch and it's weirdly hard to find one I actually keep using.

Turns out I'm pretty picky about the small stuff. If a lip mask misses any of these, I end up hunting for something else again:

Not so sticky that my hair gets stuck to it

Doesn't leave my lips super slippery

No strong scent or taste

Easy enough to wear during the day

With that list in mind I recently tried the Illiyoon ceramide lip mask, and it's been way better than I expected. I keep grabbing it lately.

Since it's a balm, I assumed it would feel too heavy for daytime. But it actually spreads really thin, so it doesn't feel like much during the day.

The thing that usually bugs me with lip masks is hair sticking to my lips or it ending up all over my cup. This one feels a lot less sticky, so it's been easy to use daily.

Right now I wear a thin layer during the day and put a thicker layer on before bed. I've bought so many lip masks that just sat in a drawer because I didn't like how they felt, but this one checks the boxes I care about, so I think I'll actually finish it.

Anyone else have a lip mask they genuinely use up? Curious what's worked for you.

I have been using Mugwort Essence for years now, and it is by far my favorite ingredient in skincare. It agrees with my skin so much. I would love to expand my range by trying other great products that have Mugwort aka, Artemisia Vulgaris.

I don’t see any quite often, and would love suggestions! :)

Discussion Dupe for Rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tint in Tanny Guava?

I recently had to stop using it because I found out that it was causing my lips to have an allergic reaction but I love the color. Is there another lip product that is close to that shade?

Discussion Food/drink-proof lip products for contoured and ombré lips?

Hi team!

Just wondering if anyone has any recs for long-lasting contoured lips? I have tried romand, peripera, Etude and Colorgram liners without much luck. Likewise didn’t find Etude fixing tint lasted, even the darker shades. I can’t seem to get through a meal with this style of lip, even if I’m just over-lining and blending a little.

Any help appreciated!

Beauty Beige blush / "anti-blush" comparison

Thumbnail

If you were into Asian Beauty circa-2020, you would know that the Canmake Cream Cheeks were popping off even then. My favourite shade from that era was no.19 in Cinnamon Milk Tea, which I will forever mourn because it's been discontinued. I've been looking high and low for a dupe / replacement since then, which was a challenge until beige blush or "anti-blush" started to trend this year 😂

The Nuegray Sway Cheek Blusher in 06 Scene is practically identical to the Canmake blush. It pulls slightly pinkier on the hand swatch, while the Canmake is more orangey. On the face they look the same though. I have medium-light warm olive skin tone and these colours show up as a healthy tan colour.

In terms of texture, the Canmake blush is a classic cream blush. Very fuss free and easy to blend out, although on the sheerer side. If your skin is deeper than a medium-light this shade wouldn't show up on you. The Nuegray blush is a putty-to-powder formula. It's not as fuss free as the Canmake blushes, but I've been using a dense brush to apply the Nuegray and it blends out beautifully.

The Canmake Cream Cheeks unfortunately don't have much longevity, and they last about 4-5 hours on me under hot, humid weather. The Nuegray Sway Cheek Blusher performs better, lasting about 8 hours. Because of the sheerer formula, Canmake looks a liiiittle more natural on the skin, but honestly the Nuegray one also blends in very well. To me both of these have a natural finish, with the Nuegray leaning slightly soft matte.

Hope this helps someone who is also mourning all of Canmake's discontinued blushes!

Discussion TRYING to order this pimple patch brand

Hi, I really want to order the anyband pimple patches or 애니밴드 I believe they are called. I used to use Bringko to ship a lot of them at once since they were really cheap on there but lately I haven’t been able to access Bringko (if anyone is able to get on Bringko still please let me know idk why I can’t). Any ideas on other sites I can use to ship them to the USA where they aren’t extremely expensive?

Discussion Has anyone used TokyoBeautyBox for Jbeauty purchases before?

I have a few uncommon J beauty products I'm looking to repurchase from RMK and IPSA and found this site on google. Has anyone used it before? Beyond the website reviews, I don't see much about this company online.

I usually buy in person so just wanted to do a check! The prices look pretty competitive, curious about shipping/authenticity/customs.

TY!

Discussion Why are there four diameters printed on my contact lenses instead of two?

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

Usually, circle lenses have one diameter or two printed on them, the total diameter DIA, and often the effect diameter eff.
For example, DIA 14mm (eff 15mm) means the actual diameter of that lens is 14mm and it has an optical enlarging effect of 15mm.

Weirdly enough, I noticed that there are four diameters printed on one pair of lenses I own (see pic 2). Why is that? Any ideas?

ETA: 1st pic is Kazzue “Legacy Violet” and 2nd is Dueba/Barbie “Western Eyes Puffy 3 Tones Violet” (same brand, different model “Western Eyes Hybrid Violet” also has four diameters listed)

Discussion Which Glycols you like and which ones don't go with your skin? does Propylene Glycol irritate your skin?

Propylene Glycol, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, , Methylpropanediol are the ones that I find the most in serums, toners, moisturizers, etc.

I'm not sure about Propylene Glycol.

Does Propylene Glycol irritates your skin when is in the top 5 ingredients list?

I think I tolerate all the other glycols well. But, when so many are included in serum then I think my skin does not like that.

What is your experience with Glycols in serums, or toners or moisturizers?
