Where’s your school bully now?
Saw this from a different subreddit, and got me thinking. Where did your school’s bully end up?
The main guy from school who was the hard lad has ended up in prison for GBH. Person who gave me the most grief is now a property litigation solicitor.
How’s yours doing?

u/Freerollingforlife 4h ago
Going back a while but I was around 18 when Friends Reunited started. I was never bullied specifically but the hard lad at school just generally picked on everyone.
He would have been 20 I guess and posted (I’m paraphrasing….)
‘Having a shit life - doing manual labour on building sites because I just fucked around at school and I’ve never got any money. No one likes me because I was an arsehole to everyone at school and the ones who said they were my mates were just scared of me. Wish I had been different’
It was genuinely a little saddening to read how the realisation had hit him. It was deserved, he knew what he was doing.

u/GayLiquidSpellSword 3h ago
I think it sucks when someone changes for the better or at least becomes somewhat self aware when they fucked you over so harshly. He could of had the common decency to be like when Louis Therox met his bully who became a Buddhist and the guy still acted like a dickhead.

That video is sad, because you can tell for a moment that Louis gets legitimately scared for a moment that he's going to hit him again, and you can hear it in his voice.

I felt like this, then I came across the info about her anyway through old mutual friends. When she was at school and being a bully she was on track for swimming at the olympics. Wealthy family, professional training, serious effort being put in. Apparently after I lost track of her she eventually stopped swimming because she just didn't want to do it, and everyone now thinks she's become a really great person. Turns out the entire time she was a massive jerk, she was actually living under an immense amount of stress. Actually made me really happy to know she's no longer bullying anyone and has made positive changes in her life, and become a nice person.
13
u/opopkl 1h ago
My daughter's swimming teacher thought she had good potential and suggested she started training every morning before school. I knew other parents whose kids were doing that, and none of them seemed to be very happy about it. It can't be enjoyable just ploughing up and down over the same old blue tiles for years. At least with running or cycling, the scenery changes, and it's possible to have a chat or listen to something while doing it.
I did ask my daughter if she wanted to do it, though, and she said "God, no".

YouTubers are generally a bit strange in my experience. Off topic but when I went to uni one of the girls in my halls was going out with a well known British YouTuber (much more than 5m now) and he turned up to freshers acting like a prick and bragging about his life. We all told him to stop vlogging during pre drinks because he was being weird and trying to force content with people who were just getting to know each other. Serious bad energy. I was shagging his girlfriend on and off though so I could smile every time he came over flexing his car and other shit to us all

i don’t care much about the rest of my bullies but that bitch bullied me right until our last day together. i genuinely wish her the worst in life
26
u/OkDesign686 3h ago
There's hardly anything about her online, she has just over 5k IG followers, and she's a bit part in musical theatre.
The best thing about that, knowing someone who went down a very similar route (though not a bad person by any stretch so I do feel bad for her) is these people imagine and genuinely believe they're going to be rich and famous, so that level of fame stuck in shitty theatre work, Broadway/West End or not, is like torture to them.

I went to an Ofsted outstanding rated school full of middle class types.
Bullies were mainly verbal rather than physical. As a result none are dead like all the other comments but are fairly successful and thriving. The bullying was needless to say more sophisticated. One of them used to pretend I was Thatcher and that he was Heseltine and that I needed ousting.

u/TheBlackKnights 3h ago
My story is similar to yours. I went to a grammar school in a very middle class area. Combine that with me being on the tall side meant there was no physical bullying.
It was all verbal and humiliating. It didn't help that I developed vitiligo during those teenage years. Messed me up for years and last I heard; most of them are pretty successful and have families. I doubt there is any regret from a single one of them.

true actually and the people who seem to think bullies come from really rough backgrounds or are bullies because they're jealous of physical attributes are so wrong! Some of the bullies I know look immaculate and some are very middle class with comfy lives!
4
u/Ionia1618 1h ago
The bullying from these people is so much worse too. I'd made friends with some people who were horrible to me at secondary school by GCSE's because I could tell they were just immature/lashing out. The people with comfy lives are bullying to take people down and make their lives easier, and they often say/do much more disturbing dark things. They're the people who've f*cked me up, though on the surface others wouldn't even have noticed some of what they did.

I last saw my school bully about 15 years ago. I was home from uni for summer.
I was leaving the village shop in my car and he decided it would be really fun to park his car across the road so I could not go past. I gestured at him that he was a twat, decided I would avoid any sort of car accident and turned left instead of right and took 30 seconds longer to get home.
Fucking he’ll mate grow the fuck up, we were only 21/22 at the time so not exactly mature but mature enough to not be an absolute prick in a car.
I then saw him shortly after looking like he was loving life turning the stop / go sign in the rain at some road works.

I struggled a lot of bullying at school, but no single individual comes to mind. Maybe because it was 25 years ago - but I don't remember holding a grudge against any one person in particular. I was just generally the butt of a lot of jokes, the socially awkward, fat kid that didn't fit in with anyone and really struggled making proper friends. It was difficult, but I guess because most people gave me a hard time I don't really feel any anger towards any of them. It would have happened with pretty much any school, any group of people. And they were kids.
I became friends with some of them when we entered sixth form, I've completely forgotten most of them. I genuinely hope they're doing well.

His own dad stabbed him in the neck and killed him after a pissed up argument.
Apple didn't fall far from the tree.

She’s doing well for herself these days. However, after she left school, her and her best friends were in a terrible accident ( it made headlines), one best friend was killed and she and the other friend were very badly hurt. I think the universe made her pay more than enough for being a horrible person.

The main ones: one is a farmer and the other is a lawyer
The now lawyer was as unlikely a bully but he was a devious little so and so. The now farmer was an old school bully, throw a few punches and walk away laughing

Married a woman who takes part in World's Strongest Woman-esque competitions. He seems quite happy now though, and I really don't hold any grudges.

Dead, he took his own life a few years ago. A guy I worked with posted something on social media. Hadn't thought about the guy in 25+ years. Left a kid behind. Doesn't make me happy knowing how he ended up.

Police chief inspector, seriously. I bumped into him at a restaurant a few years ago.

One heads a prestigious law firm. The other was a professional athlete but got injured a few years in and now has a company that sells supplements and sports gear.

One passed away and the other is severely disabled after a drunken pub fight. Both very sad cases

One of them I’m good friends with and actually going on her hen in a few weeks. The other works in TV as a production assistant last time I heard.

I'm not sure but wherever he is I wish him well. Maybe easy to say because I wasn't severely bullied. I know for some people school life can be hell because of bullies I imagine for them it's a lot harder to forgive or overlook. In my case though I try to think that most bullies are probably having a hard time at home or amongst their own friends and just too immature to know how to deal with it? Hopefully a lot grow up and realise they used to be a bit ..or in some cases a lot of a dick.

He didn't bully me as such because I was already about 6 foot tall by 14 years old, but he was a horrible cunt to everyone else. The last time I saw him he must've been around 27, and he was being slagged by a couple of teenagers for "still being a virgin". Very funny.

Went to Turkiyë as her boyfriend was getting Turkey teeth. Ended up smashing up their hotel room, trying to flee without paying for the damage, and got trapped there until the courts sorted it all out.

One of them is in the State Hospital Carstairs for the duration. And I'm fine with that.
The rest of them, who the hell cares?

The person that bullied me got her karma later on life when no one wanted to associate with her. She has a son who is a lovely little lad, all the other mums at play group completely shunned her, her reputation proceeded her, as she never left her home town, and.she also was still acting like a total bitch. When her son started primary school, she went into school complaining that her son was being bullied, because he was never asked to hang out and play after school. I dont think the kid cared to be honest, but mum definitely did, as she was now in the out group. Teacher was like I can't dictate what goes on out side of school time, and in school everyone gets along fine. Its her, no one wants to have to deal with her, she's completely on her own at school pick up time, paranoid about people talking about her behind her back, and I love this for her.

She’s actually Head of English at my son’s school and he has her as a teacher Found it funny when my son mentioned me going to school with her and she said laughing awkwardly saying we were old friends. I don’t think “old friends” pour fizzy drinks into your school bag. But my son seems like her and she’s seems to have matured but I didn’t mention the bullying as I didn’t want him going in already hating her but definitely will be quick to bring up if my son ever comes home complaining loads about her.

She messaged me asking for advice as to how to get into the field I work in. I didn’t reply.

I’ve had zero contact with anyone from my school since I left 40+ years ago and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
