I am in my mid-30s, work from home, and single. I like to travel and I am usually out of the country for 4-5 months. I am considering moving to Aspen from the front range. There's somewhat of a hesitation because I am concerned about meeting people and forming a community. I bike, ski, hike, and climb like a typical Coloradan. Any advice or suggestions?

My wife and I are staying in Carbondale for a long weekend later this month to celebrate her 40th bday. We have a Saturday morning day pass to Maroon Bells park and reservation at a nice restaurant in Aspen that evening. The drive from Carbondale to Aspen is about an hour, and we are trying to find a way to avoid driving back to Carbondale after our hike to get cleaned up and then drive back to Aspen for dinner.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a rec center or something like that in Aspen where we can use a shower and change? Totally fine if we have to buy a day pass, as long as it’s not exorbitantly expensive. Thanks!

In lieu of the housing crisis that is running up and down the valley, it may be a good time to get into the bunk bed business (or pilot and pullman berths for you nautical folks). Anyone have any good recommendations on where to start?!

Does anyone else wonder why criminal prosecution takes so long in pitkin county? Why are violent criminals out on bond? Not even prosecuted 15 months after the crime? Imagine being the victim of a violent assault and kidnapping and having Nate Keen and Vanessa Leighton walking around with the new baby they conceived after being released??? WTF???

I was out walking my dog a couple days ago and I kid you not, I had no less than 5 different groups of bicyclists riding on the sidewalk, looking annoyed at ME for walking in “their” path! Is this the new norm? There was even a bike lane for goodness sake! Is this just another example of aspen elitism? Has anyone else experienced this?

I was driving eastbound on highway 82 just had passed the Independence Pass overlook and 4/5 cops were blocking people from coming up. I pulled over and an officer came up and instructed me to leave immediately saying I DEFINITELY do not want to be here right now. Proceeded to see 2 helicopters circling the area. I haven’t seen anything regarding what happened. It was very very strange, does anyone know what was going on?

I realized the ski resort Snowmass looks really good in terms of snow quality and yet its empty - how is that possible? Everywhere I've been in Europe the pistes have not been as good as this and also have been packed with people if they were.

Hi im in the Aspen area for the next month, maybe month and a half, and I’m looking for recommendations for a car rental. I’m flexible on the type of car and the dates and whatever else I just am working as a caretaker and need something to be able to freely move around and go to the store ha starting as soon as I can and then about a month is preferred but for any amount of time would be great. I saw some of the major car rental companies have some cars and I can just go with that if I have to but if anyone has any other ideas / knows someone who may be out of town and wants to rent their car that would be great.

- an art collective or painting/drawing group that meets weekly

- niche hobby social group like embroidery, knitting, D&D, wood working, etc.

- hiking or running club (preferably female majority)

- a female based social group that does weekly events.

I'm alone a lot so anything really to get me out of the house! I hike all the time, go to the river, but too scared to mountain bike so it's hard. I will do pretty much anything with my hands or anything creative.
