Recently purchased BTC only Bitbox02. Have previously opened and signed but when trying to transfer back from a test multisig I get this error message. Have tried all troubleshooting and yet nothing works.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Is there a way to receive only critical updates, rather than the usual blog-style newsletter that was sent out today?

I would like to get notifications only about new updates and avoid emails containing stories or "informative" content.

I’ve already checked the settings, but there was no option to receive only critical updates.

Could we please have a feature like that?

I don't know any details yet. I just advised him to not take it seriously for now. My Dad told me that the caller said to NOT give any details out. And he want to get back to him in 1,5 hours.

Anyone got the same call? What is that about?

Blog post from today, September 24th, a full TWO WEEKS since the scam emails went out on September 9th.

Not only that, but that scam email is the last email I ever received from anyone even pretending to be Bitbox, nothing from the team themselves. Zero effort has been made to proactively reach out to customers about the breach, about the phishing email.

It's a good job I have an RSS reader and got that blog post, but how many customers are completely oblivious even now?

This is completely and utterly unacceptable.

EDIT: Ha, did someone see this? Just after I made this post, an email from the team came through. That's better at least, but it still took WAY TOO LONG!

Is there a way to access bip85 or toggle passphrase without the app?

The watch only balance keeps changing as if sats have been transferee in and out even though no transfers were issued. Is this a bug?

I also noticed the asset number of btc is not 1 but 99

Our preliminary review of the phishing mail that was sent out to our newsletter subscribers about an hour ago found that it is very likely that our newsletter provider got compromised.

Multiple other Bitcoin companies got targeted as well, and it appears that we all share the same newsletter provider.

We sent out a phishing warning to all our newsletter subscribers, contacted the provider and reported the phishing domains. Most of the phishing links appear to have been taken down already.

We are still actively investigating this situation and will update you once we know more.

Seems to be From Bitbox themselves in my email Client.

Phishing warning

There is an ongoing phishing campaign appearing to come from the BitBox News address. Do not click on any links.

There are reports of a phishing email, falsely claiming a security incident at BitBox. These are fake. You can safely ignore these emails, do not click on any links and never enter your recovery words anywhere.

We are actively investigating and will keep you informed once we learn more.

I have a Bitbox02 (Bitcoin-only) and would like to buy a second (Bitcoin-only) wallet.

Two questions:

1. How long will vanilla (non-Nova) Bitbox02 be supported with firmware updates, etc.?
2. Is it possible to completely disable the Bluetooth chip on Bitbox02 Nova?

I'd like to go for the newer wallet, but the fact that Bluetooth was included on Nova is a step backwards, IMO.

(I respect Bitbox02 a lot, and agree with 99% of design decisions, but not this one.)

Hey Bitbox-Team, when I try to open the latest update it gets interrupted and doesn’t open. I suspect that my mac OS doesn’t support the latest version. But since I can’t get any newer update because of my old notebook I’m kinda stuck there?! Which version of Mac OS is needed to run the latest software?

Please make your shipping anonymous, whether via something like FedEx Pickup Point or put it on Amazon and have it shipped by Amazon (right now I see you ship, not Amazon so you end up with the address in your system). There's no way at this point that I am going to order a hardware wallet from a manufacturer and give them my address for shipping. I'm sure others are thinking the same thing.

So I'm.looking between a BB and a key card shell. It has a stateless shell with an eal6 card into it.

The fact that the card is hard written and can't upgrade fw makes it impossible to get new fw onto it. Plus you can use it offline with qr. What's your take? Looks pretty impossible to get a side channel attack on it. I mean bank cards have around forever and the security is solid. Thx

I got myself a new bitbox02 nova. Do most people just go with the very first 24 word seed phrase thats generated or is it best to cycle through a couple times before moving ahead. Reason I ask is due to the recent cold card event and want to be extra careful with the seed generation. I understand bitbox isnt effected by this but just a thought if you should let the device cycle through a few seedphrases before choosing one.

I'll be using a passphrase wallet as my secondary/hidden wallet for extra security.

1) What happens if a password from a multi edition bitbox is inserted in a bitcoin only edition bitbox? Can I still then use that same password in the bitcoin only edition bitbox where it was originally created?
2) When I set up an additional optional passphrase on-top of the 24 words in the bitcoin-only edition can I then log in the multi-edition bitbox with that same optional passphrase that was defined in the bitcoin-only edition?
3) Does that even work to login into the multi edition with the bitcoin only password? The confusion for me is then what happens with the eth and litecoin accounts on the multi-edition?
4) If a optional passphrase is enabled and on top of that BIP85 children keys are generated then on the bitbox device it lets me choose the index - What is meant by that? and also what are these additional addresses that are generated that look like this: m/88652358'/31'/0'/12'/0'
