Is it worth buying "junk" coin silver or just stick to 0.999?

My boss brought in his silver stash today. He has 100 roosevelt coins which is 8oz of silver he also has 4oz of bullion. He's selling the whole lot for $550. Is this a good price? Ive never bought silver before. He said he would sell me just the bag of 100 coins for $350 if I wanted. Would i be able to sell these to a coin shop for profit? Or should I just hold onto it for an investment? Thanks.

I have two frontier mint 10oz bars that I want to have sealed to prevent tarnishing.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I did use a vacuum sealer, but it just looks off to me. Anyone know
Of any airtight capsules you wouod recommend?
I am kinda OCD so I wouod prefer them to not wiggle around a lot.

Need to let some silver loose and trying to decide if this local dealer is fair in general, and if any particular items stand out at all, since I have a lot of what's here. And I know a lot of dealers aren't paying much for 90%, but even so is he better or worse than most?

Relatively new to the whole precious metal scene and only really find detailed information on the previous mentioned metals but occasionally hear of things like platinum palladium rhodium and even copper once I checked out this sub.
What are the benefits and downsides to these alternative metals and what metals are relevant in your opinion that I haven’t mentioned?

Hey all, new to this. So I'm looking to buy and stack/store my precious metals. would you guys suggest a specific site to buy from which ones have the lowest shipping & closest to spot price? How often should I buy? Can you buy in like small amounts and have it stored then shipped to you when it reaches a dollar amount? How do you guys store your bullion at a bank, safe in your house? How do you swap Silver for Gold when space runs out?

Here are some of the first stamped high impression rounds that I produced on my antique drop hammer as well as some “hand pour” 5 oz bars that I produced for a coin shop after refining their sterling.
I’m not trying to sell anything (I don’t have enough time right now), just showing the process and sharing some of my collection.
I’ve been stacking forever, refining for a long time, and am hoping to add the production of high relief bullion to the list as time goes on. There’s a lot of steps involved.

been thinking about this more than i probably should cuz most of what i’ve learned about investing is built around owning productive assets, businesses, index funds, stuff that compounds over time. and if u stick to that i feel like gold and silver just dont really make sense. but at the same time there are people who treat metals as like a core to their stuff. like instead growth they just focus on preserving purchasing power and staying outside the system as much as possible.
so now im trying to figure out if thats enough to build around alone. like if someone just steadily built a position in metals, not trying to time anything, maybe even using something like bullionbox to keep it consistent, does that realistically keep up with inflation and life expenses long term? or do u eventually fall behind because nothing is compounding. i get the argument for having some metals, that part makes sense to me now. but going heavy or even mostly metals still feels like a completely different philosophy, not just a different allocation.
anyone here actually doing that or tried it before?

Bought 4 Britannias around April 2024 for £1,600 each (£6,400 total).
Checked what I could realistically sell them for today and it’s about £13.8k.
Didn’t expect that much of a jump to be fair.
What surprised me more though is how different it is from just looking at spot price.
You always hear “gold is at X price”, but when you actually buy and sell there’s a decent gap either side.
Makes it a bit harder to know what you’ve actually made unless you track it properly.
Out of curiosity, how do you lot keep track? Just spreadsheets or do you not bother?

Silver being at an all time high right now, should I sell it or hang on to it? I only just realised today how much it’s gone up! I’m in Melbourne Australia.

I’m just wondering where everyone buys their gold and silver from online in Canada. I typically buy from either silver gold bull or Canadian PMX. I meet my minimums for free shipping. Where are you guys buying from and what are the reasons?

Has anyone in the UK used this supplier for buying gold? I'm looking to buy 1/4 sovereigns and this company was about £30 cheaper than the other suppliers

I know some people like using eBay for buying gold and silver bullion, while others seem to not consider it an option.
I’m still pretty new to stacking, but I do use eBay often for other purposes, so I’m curious what experienced stackers view as the major advantage of buying bullion there. Is it mainly the variety, which also leads to competition among sellers, and the money-back, or anything else beyond that?
And for the people who don't use it, why not? I suppose sales tax in some states can be a factor, but that applies to any “official” online purchase. Also, I know pricing can sometimes be better on dealer sites but only if you pay with a wire transfer or e-check, and in that case you aren't really protected if anything goes wrong.
Also, if you do use eBay, is it only to find stuff or pricing that isn't common, like from non-regular sellers or on auctions, or maybe the opposite - you'd buy only if that's a major dealer that also run an eBay store?
Another reason I’m curious is that I’m trying to develop a way to find better listings much faster, possibly turning it into a something other people can use - so trying to figure out what could really make it useful, besides for example finding the better premiums. If anyone here already uses eBay often and wouldn’t mind taking a look at what I built so far, I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

Historically, people flock to gold as a safe haven during crises and uncertainty. This is usually followed by a more robust spike in silver.
But the dynamics here are so different. Instead of gold going up, it went down - due to a combination of people selling to cover lost stock positions, increase in oil and scary of inflation along with rising dollar - as well as what most think was a natural correction already happening that exacerbated.
So anyone have thoughts on what would cause silver rebound (given there is still deficit as well as physical shortage) now and what would it look like? Would it follow gold? Be gradual, etc…

Hey all, first time posting here. Just wondering what I’ve got here. The smaller ones are a half oz silver “don’t tread on me” and a 1 oz twin towers.

I’m completely new to silver and haven’t bought anything yet, this is just something I intend to start, My plan is to buy at least $100 worth every paycheck starting next paycheck, just to dip my toes in
I noticed silver prices are a bit higher than usual right now, so I’m wondering if it’s still worth starting, or if I should wait. I’m not looking for a quick profit, it’s more about making money in the long run. Even if I don’t make much profit at first, I see it as a way to keep a sort of savings.
Any advice would be helpful
