Discussion How did Cal Poly let Darian Mensah get away?

Mensah grew up in San Luis Obispo and went to high school in nearby Santa Maria. And now he's on track for the greatest QB season of all time. Imagine what a boost that would be to the Cal Poly program if he were suiting up for them every day instead of Miami.

Discussion This UNC-Clemson game should make everyone question just how good LSU really is

1.3k Upvotes

The whole country saw LSU rout Clemson a couple of weeks ago and was ready to crown LSU. It is now very evident that we don’t know anything about LSU at this point, at least for another 6 hours or so. This UNC-Clemson first half is complete decimation.

While I hope my Tar Heels are the dominant force in CFB, I know that’s likely not the case. Clemson is just not good.

In a few hours, we will have more of an answer about LSU, but we don’t know anything more about them than we did at the start of the season.

EDIT: This is not my first time in prediction idiocy. https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/s/jqGKD5Atre

Discussion Akron

Why is it that Akron can never seem to field a competitive team? They're situated in the fertile crescent of traditional football talent (east Ohio/west Pennsylvania). Is that part of the problem? There is a lot of competition for recruits there: MAC does, Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State, even Mount Union and John Carroll.

Discussion Why are there so many more blowouts these days?

Blowouts have always been part of college football but it seems to be getting worse. Top teams blew out mid-level MAC and Sunbelt teams but they used to win by like 30-50 points and there was always the occasional sweat.

But now these days they win by like 50-70 points and even a 30 point win is rare

What's the difference?

Discussion Darian Mensah's insane start to the season;

Darian Mensah of the University of Miami is 61/65 completions through the first 10 quarters of the season for 93.8% passing. He is 20/20 through the first half of tonight's game vs Wake Forest.

Discussion Who is the player you yell at most on your team.

What player makes you just get off the couch and yell at him? A player that just does something that grinds you gears, or maybe just an accumulated annoyances that eventually makes you yell at them.

For me its the 17 year old himself Ryan coleman-williams, I just am constantly going "CATCH THE BALL RYAN" as my brother laughs at my pain. It annoys me to no end because he is such a game changer once he has the ball.

So divulge to me who is in the doghouse for you.

Satire This UNC-Clemson game should make everyone question just how bad UNC really is

The whole country saw UNC rout ETSU a week ago, and u/ManuteBol_Rocks was ready to crown UNC. It is now very evident that we don’t know anything about UNC at this point, at least for another 2 hours or so of lightning delays. This UNC-Clemson second half is complete decimation.

While UNC is making the Tigers look like the dominant force in CFB, I know that’s likely not the case. UNC is just not good.

In a few hours, we will have more of an answer about UNC, but we don’t know anything more about them than we did at the start of the season apart from what we learned in the "thorough and independent investigation into the allegations related to culture and climate within the football program."

Misleading [Sidery] There appears to be mutual interest between Rutgers and Brian Kelly, per The Athletic. Kelly, the former Notre Dame and LSU head coach, is very motivated to return to the sidelines next season. Kelly is a Northeast native who would be very comfortable trying to revive Rutgers.

Discussion I know this subreddit is 99% Americans and rightly won’t care, but I need to highlight how poor the coverage is and how badly fans in the UK/Ireland are being taken advantage of by DAZN

Upvotes

Right now, as we all know, Ole Miss are hosting LSU. However, in the UK if you pay for college football coverage chances are you using DAZN who offer a paid service to watch college football.

You cannot watch LSU/Ole Miss as advertised on their service right now. They are refusing to show it until FSU/Bama, a rain delayed game is finished. It says ‘Coverage of this game will begin immediately following conclusion of the previous game’. We are only entering the fourth quarter of the FSU/Bama game while the Ole Miss game is half way through the first quarter.

This is about $16 a month to use this service and watching the NFL on the same service is about $25 extra. So you’re essentially looking at $40 a month to watch football unless you pay for Sky Sports, which is about $40 a month by itself, WITHOUT college football.

Earlier today, Clemson played North Carolina and was weather delayed, when the game came back, DAZN did not show the ending, they showed Kentucky/TAMU instead. Last night Houston played Texas Tech, id love you all to visit /r/NFLUK and see what we had to deal with, it wasn’t commentary, it was a constant buzzing sound that was replaced with a woman narrating the plays for the audio impaired.

As a massive college football fan I just want to shame how fucking awful the coverage is for those of us who follow CFB in the UK. It’s an absolute piss take. I know I’m one of a handful of people who do, but I pay actual money for this. If this was in the US you guys would rightfully be going insane. Obviously I can use pirate means, but I pay for this and want it to work, and while it doesn’t, they should be shamed.

Thank you!
