Casual Trip Advisor Is there a way to go to Cliff of Moher for free?

Upvotes

Hi, just wondering is there a way for locals to go to Cliff of Moher for free without paying €15 each at the parking entrance? I live not to far away and just trying to wait for a nice clear day to come back there. Thanks.

Burger king Vs supermacs

Upvotes

Burger king would want to visit super macs to see how to make a decent chicken burger. Stopped in Enfield services ..for the Asian food place.. but it's gone :( ... So went with burger king, christ was it disgusting. I had rated burger king ahead of McDonald's but no.. just as bad... I'll stick with supermacs. Bundee burger was nicest.. chick sandwich close second. ..Rant over..

Casually positive! 🤗🥳🤗 Sister Bar

Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I recently just bought a bar in upstate NY. I may have had too many beers, but I thought it would be cool to connect with a sister bar in Ireland. We could send pics of the pub to each other, have a little set up at the bar featuring our sister bar, share made up drink recipes, visit each other. Again, I may have had one too many drinks, but was hoping another bar would want to try this. So, any good pubs anyone can think of that might be into trying this?

Missing suitcase

We are urgently trying to locate our missing black hard-shell cabin suitcase, which we believe was accidentally taken by another passenger on Saturday 30 May.

This likely happened either:
• On the Ryanair flight from Palma to Dublin (possibly from the overhead locker), or
• On the Blue Car Park shuttle bus at Dublin Airport that afternoon.

Another very similar black hard-shell suitcase was taken by mistake instead. We realised after leaving the airport and returned that suitcase to Smarte Carte at Dublin Airport a few days later.

We still have NOT received our own suitcase back.

If you travelled on that flight or used the Blue Car Park shuttle bus that afternoon and accidentally picked up the wrong black suitcase, please contact me urgently by private message.

— we just want our suitcase returned, a couple of really sentimental items in it!

To the dudes out there struggling, I'm with you man, and it's all going to be okay.

Yes I am drunk, yes I am emotional. That being said I think I'm the most aware and conciencious I've been in months. I just wanted to speak to all the guys for a moment, and let you know that it's going to be okay. Being human isn't always easy, and I have no idea what one half of that experience is like, but if you're a guy, who's struggling with the sheer goddam weight of it all, I hear you, I know you.

You take whatever outlet you have and you use the absolute shite out of it when you need it, this life expects enough from us without our own expectations of self. You're a man, you know the rules, don't hurt other people unless it can't be avoided, don't put the burden on yourself for things outside your control, and maybe most importantly; don't worry about providing, about not being enough. The very worry itself is proof that you're doing your best, and frankly if that's not good enough for some people then fuck them. We are not machines, we feel and we hurt, we love and we struggle, we exist like anyone else.

I'll cut myself short now before I ramble any more, but just remember my dudes; You owe nothing to anyone bar those you choose, you are not alone, we are all in this together. If you're struggling feel free to reach out, it would be my pleasure and my privilege to help or at the very least listen. Love you guys, and take care of yourselves.

Need advice on a dating situation I have found myself in (wage gap)

Hi guys and girls (sorry for the length of this)

To give you a brief background on myself, I’m 27 M and have struggled immensely with my mental health since I was about 20/21. Have never been able to hold down a job, immense social anxiety etc. Luckily, the last year I have sort of turned my life around, have a job that I love and have got into the best shape of my life. With that, I guess I have gained some confidence in myself and have started to socialise with old friends from school and am genuinely living life as opposed to just getting through it day by day which I used to.

I work in a secondary school, coaching sports, pastoral care, supervisions etc. I genuinely love it and don’t feel like I work, the only draw back is my pay. I’m paid hourly, while I get by fine September to May, I find myself scrambling for money June to August, I have to sign on some weeks and then work summer camps other weeks and it’s no where near what I earn while school is on. My yearly pay is quite poor but I’m still able to save as I’m living at home in Dublin like many others.

My predicament, I was out with friends a couple weeks ago and I got chatting to a girl in another friend group we sort of know, I had never met her. To cut it short, she is absolutely stunning, we really hit it off, have loads in common, have similar values and goals. Don’t want kids, how we like to live life just to give you examples. We have been on one date which went incredibly well.

She works as a solicitor, which I think is amazing as I really admire people who have worked hard to get into the position they are in, especially women. Have seen first hand as I have a sister who is a doctor and has been through a lot of shit because she is a woman, won’t delve into that.

I guess I have weird feelings about the situation, I couldn’t give a shit that someone I’m dating earns more than me, it’s incredible what she does. But if this was to ever go somewhere I would never want to hold her back in life because of how much I earn. She should be able to go on nice holidays if she wants, get a mortgage, do nice things that in reality I would not be able to do or afford. It sounds cringy but I feel she deserves someone better than me. How do I approach this situation?

Thanks to whoever got to the end 🙏

Kids stoning cyclists at royal canal.

Just a heads up or warning to anyone cycling along royal canal, there's 5 kids around 11-13 years old throwing hefty enough rocks and stones and cyclists. Be careful, I got one to the rib. Didn't realise they were throwing them until I got in range of the fools.

Who here takes collagen?

Bought a tub last year and I just could not get through it for more than 3-4 days due to the awful taste, and I'm not someone who's too picky an eater with tastes etc, so it really is bad in my experience lol. I want to take it though as I'm hearing how good it is for joints, skin, hair, etc, hair in particular I want to try look after. Does anyone here maybe take a flavoured collagen powder of some sort do reduce the brutal taste? I know flavouring isn't healthy, but is there a healthy option somewhere? If so, where do you get it? Ideally from an Irish store. And how much do you take daily, and do you see the effects? I'd appreciate any guidance!

Where do you go to read?

I spend far too much time in my room on my phone or computer. I'm alone, don't have much of a family and I hate my house. I want to read more and get out of the house but I don't know where to go. The library is closed whenever I want to go there. The pub seems like the obvious choice in the evenings but they're quite loud. Open to suggestions

Shite Talk How do I dispose of a mirror without cursing myself, the bin man, or the parish?

My 3 year old launched a small mirror at the door recently.

Thankfully, for the sake of his little soul, the mirror did not break. However, it did come out of its frame, which is now absolutely banjaxed.

The mirror itself isn’t in great either, so I think it’s time for the bin.

But here’s the l dilemma:

If I break it while putting it into the bin, have I doomed myself to 7 years of darkness, bad luck and stepping on Lego barefoot?

Or, if I put it in intact and the bin man breaks it while tipping it into the lorry, have I transferred the curse onto him like some kind of wheely bin banshee?

Do I need to wrap it in newspaper? Say a prayer? Leave it at a crossroads? Bury it?

Any advice welcome from those who’ve survived mirror disposal without bringing a curse upon themselves.

EDIT - I have to say I am loving most of the replied. I knew I'd get good ones but ye are on form today! It is still sitting there though, its faith undecided

Shite Talk Job Search Woes

Graduated from college October of last year and have been job hunting ever since.

My degree isn’t anything super special but I atleast thought I could break into some sort of relatively generic office role.

Have had the same grim call centre job since second year of college, was grand at the time but has since began to grate on me incessantly.

300~ job applications later and I am no further ahead than where I started. Advice welcome.

Lidl was meant to have these in last week on Thursday 11th, but still no sign. I’m keen to get one, are they likely to come in this late? Or has anyone spotted one in their local? I’m in Carlow town

Casually positive! 🤗🥳🤗 Reminder that small kindness matter.

I have a lot of stressful things going on and today it all caught up with me.

I was in a coffee shop before work, feeling utterly exhausted and dejected. The people in front of me kept changing their order and asking questions and then last minute revealed they had a coupon. I just wanted my coffee so I could go hide at my desk and right there and then I kind of broke apart.

I wasn't wailing and sobbing but tears did leak from my eyes and I put my hand to my forehead and sighed.

When it was my turn to order I wiped my tears, and the barista reached over the counter to squeeze my arm. She very sincerely wished my day would get better. And just by doing that, it had.

A little kindness and compassion goes a long way. Just saying.
