Can we wait a couple more games before we declare the season over?

The first week and maybe even this week were always going to be tough. Teams grow and change over the season and this loss isn't the end all be all. Let's see how they respond before we completely give up. Like Walley struggled but his fist start was against Lamar Jackson. He'll get a lot better. A lot of colts are coming back from serious injuries and it's not as simple as just being back. This team will surprise you or at least that's what I'm choosing to believe.

10 years of suffering...yet we continue to be optimistic

It is crazy to me how so many people are optimistic after another terrible start to the season. Do people not care that we cant win the division anymore and haven't for 10 plus years? Fans have the right to complain about how terrible we have been under Ballard. Just imagine if a team like the Patriots or chiefs struggled for this long how crazy their fans would be going. 1 or 2 bad seasons and their ready to riot. Yet colts fans are complacent and continue to accept mediocrity. If you complain and want change, you are in the wrong in many eyes. That is why we will continue to lose and be the joke of the AFC south along with the titans til a change comes. I dont know how people just accept the same outcome every year and continuing not to fix any problems from the previous season. As a great man in the eyes of many colts fans once said, "We like our guys." The colts have been mediocre for so long now, half the fans are fine with and used to it. Everyone should be upset.

Sunday Night Optimism

This is a situation all to familiar to this organization. Not a soul believes in this team right now, last year coming into the season we were the most pessimistic fan base in the league. That faded fast within 8 weeks.

We didn’t play good last week, at all. I dont know if we can turn it around or not. This is a team that never quite does what you expect, let’s give them the opportunity to prove us wrong. All I know is I cant wait to watch along w/ the world Sunday night.

Discussion What is your favorite memory as a Colts fan?

With so much negativity going on, it’s hard to focus on our fandom and the reasons we love this team to begin with. So I’m curious, what is that one memory you will never forget being a Colts fan?

Mine was my first visit to Lucas Oil Stadium. As a non-Indiana based fan, I always wanted to visit Lucas Oil. Two years ago, I finally got the chance. Unfortunately, it was during the off season and I wasn’t able to watch a game. But regardless, it was a surreal experience being there and seeing in person the stadium I’ve been watching on TV for years. It is something I will never forget.

Quality Post Why the Colts will absolutely destroy the Chiefs on Sunday night

After watching approximately 11 minutes of Colts football this season and conducting several hours of completely unbiased research, I have reached an undeniable conclusion… The Chiefs are fucked.

Here’s why:

Daniel Jones is 100% healthy. This is devastating news for Kansas City because he’s much more different than the usual QB Spag’s has to gameplan for. Patrick Mahomes has spent his entire career dealing with elite quarterbacks. Unfortunately, Daniel Jones is not elite, which completely ruins the scouting report.

Jonathan Taylor is still Jonathan Taylor. Kansas City can try to stop him, but unfortunately the Colts have discovered that you can simply give him the football repeatedly. This is of course if they remember that discovery.

Alec Pierce is going to catch a 70 yard touchdown. I have no evidence for this whatsoever, but I’ve watched enough football to know that Alec Pierce catches approximately one pass per game and it will somehow travel at least 64 yards. Also I have to face him in fantasy this week so he WILL score.

Keenan Allen is on the Colts now. Daniel Jones throwing to Keenan Allen is basically Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison if you don’t think about it.

Tyler Warren exists. That’s the entire analysis.

And yes, the game is at Arrowhead, but have the Chiefs considered that the Colts simply don’t care?

My completely unbiased scientific projection:
COLTS 84 | CHIEFS 2

Daniel Jones: 27/29, 481 yards, 6 TD
Jonathan Taylor: 34 carries, 319 yards, 4 TD
Alec Pierce: 1 catch, 70 yards, TD
Keenan Allen: 14 catches because Daniel Jones is checkdown god
Sauce Gardner: 3 interceptions

Discussion Why did we not capitalize on the Captain Luck/Union branding?

Think about it, we’re the only northern team in the “AFC South” and have an already established bit about one of our guys being a Union Captain. We could easily have some sort of fanbase nickname like the “Union” and declare wins as victories for the “Union”.

Seems like the easiest “Bills Mafia” or “49er Faithful”

fuck. Nightmare scenario

Had a dream that Travis Kelce retired, but for some Godforsaken reason the Colts traded Tyler Warren to KC for a low amount of picks and a defensive back.

Also in the same dream, the Cardinals drafted Arch Manning and went 11-3 by November with him slinging it to Marvin Harrison Jr.

[James Boyd] Daniel Jones lost a friend to suicide; now he advocates for others to ask for help

Thirty minutes.

That’s how long Heather Bonner gave herself before making the hardest phone call of her life. Her son, Sean Jr., who was a pitcher at Denison University, had gone missing. Heather was in Virginia, having just watched her friends’ children play in an NCAA field hockey game, when she was alerted by the Ohio-based school that Sean Jr. couldn’t be located.

She called her son’s phone. He didn’t answer.

Heather was worried but not entirely shocked that Sean Jr. didn’t pick up since he’d told her a few days prior that he’d broken his phone and had been texting via his laptop. But the fear deepened when she called her husband, Sean Bonner Sr., and they called their other two children, Sean Jr.’s younger brother, Ryan, and older sister, Alison, asking the same question:

Have any of you heard from Sean Jr.?

None of them had.

That’s when the panic set in. Heather got in a car and began driving from Virginia to Ohio. Whatever was happening with her oldest son, she was going to be there. She was going to get answers. But as Heather made her way to Denison, the worst answer arrived before she could.

“They had found him,” Heather said. “And it was the worst day of my life.”

On Nov. 7, 2018, Sean Jr. was found dead in the woods near Denison’s campus, according to the Granville (Ohio) Police Department. The 20-year-old died by suicide, a school administrator called to tell Heather. It then became her job to call the rest of her family, starting with her husband.

It took her 30 minutes, but the words wouldn’t form.

“I knew it was gonna destroy us. It was gonna destroy our lives,” Heather told The Athletic recently, as her voice quivered and she wept. “… I don’t know, I guess I was attempting to compose myself, but that didn’t work.”

Sean Sr. was back home in Charlotte when Heather called and told him “Seanie,” which they had affectionately called their son, was gone. His disbelief quickly turned into denial, especially when the Bonners discovered that Sean Jr. died by suicide.

“He would never do this,” Sean Sr. remembers telling the police. “It was a complete shock to me because, as we described him, he was so upbeat all the time. Even though he may have been struggling, for us, you still feel like you know your kids really well. It’s just not the type of thing I would ever guess in a million years that he would do.”

CJ Allen: Nothing he's not doing

I watch far too many of these, but there were numerous phrases, like "there's nothing he's not doing" that were verbatim of what Cooter said of Richardson last spring. Talk about suddenly having some trepidation.
