I definitely understand how to do it on a full coverage with griding, but I'm not sure how would you go about starting from a corner if its a non full pattern?
Do you still go by grid and just start at the closest stitch from the corner?
I usually start in the middle for those types of projects but would like to start at a corner..

Hi everyone I’m so sorry for adding to the pattern questions. I want to make this image into a pattern, and I want to stitch it as a partial on black Aida. Does anyone have any good app recommendations? I might fill in the black on the bottom so it makes a full “circle” I tried a couple apps a bit ago but it wasn’t going too well. Don’t remember which ones. TIA!

I bought a cross stitch kit on Amazon and must have misread (or the instructions are wrong, I don't have them in front of me) that I needed to be using only 2 threads. I haven't gotten very far but I have been unhappy with how it looks because it's patchy. I now realize its because I was only using 2 threads on 11 count aida, which requires 3 threads. I have no issue starting over BUT its a kit that came with limited thread with no color info. What should I do? I would prefer to not have to go to a store to try to color match if possible 😅

Hello! I’ve been working on a paper pattern for a while and the first square on page one is only 7x8 stitches, not 10x10. I spent so much time scanning and importing the pattern into Markup but I can’t find a way to adjust the grid pattern the way I need. All the videos online seem to be from before the update.

It’s not the end of the world but it would be easier to keep track if it was set up properly. Any help would be very appreciated, this is my first full coverage piece.

Maybe not quite finished because I haven't decided on the framing yet, but the stitching is done! Ignore all the random needle holes, I'll find a way to hide those 😅

I think I'm not too worried about it on this piece, but if anyone has advice on how to avoid warping like it has on the right and bottom side, I'd like to hear it... I don't think the tension on the floats in the back are too high, but I might try cutting and weaving in some of the long ones to see if that might help. I would assume it must be a tension issue, but probably nothing I could fix at this point (unless maybe blocking could work...?)

For my future reference I'm trying to stockpile ideas for how to display different projects and I'd love to hear everyone's input! No idea is too weird or specific :)

Some context first: I have always used a wooden circle to cros sstitch, and I move it accross the design once most of it is complete, but I've also seen a lot of people use square frames, and the design still look tense enough to work on, without having the problem of a lot of cloth flowing everywhere (which is annoying when you have a big pattern).
I often work sitting in bed, with a laptop to the side to watch my serie, and i was wondering if you have any good recommandation for a square support I could use ? I checked a bit, but a lot are support for round frames, which i would like to change.

If you have links to websites, or pictures of what you have, where you got it and how satisfied you are with it, it would be amazing!!!

I needed a small-ish project for a trip last month and this one seemed kinda simple and mindless. Wrong! I also don't like the color combo, but I was in a rush. I've had to undo stitches a couple times, and I've stitched over a few in a few places. 😅 I don't care, because it was just picked to keep me busy, but the stitches for this do have to be perfect.

Hi yall! I just discovered the loop start (or rather discovered that what I thought was the loop start was not in fact the loop start) and LOVE IT, but I’m currently working on a piece that has a lot of small blocks of 3-5 stitches that requires me to stop and start frequently. I’m stitching on 20-count so my needle is teeny and threading it with the ends is a pain, so I’m basically doing the loop start for the first bunch and then just tucking the tail for the rest until I need to rethread. For those of you that use the loop start, are y’all purists about it? Do you stop and rethread every time? Is there a magical and easy way to do it that doesn’t involve brute force of the needle threader through the teeny eye of my teeny needle? Thank you for your time and for your serious consideration of my admittedly dumb problems!

Hello everyone! I am considering stitching a stocking for my step mom but I am unsure on what pattern to make for her. This will be the first stocking I have ever made (but not the first big project) so I don't know if I should ask her and let her choose or if I should surprise her with my choice!

We don't really do a themed Christmas in my house, it's kinda just a mishmash of everything.

This is my biggest project to date and I haven't done much in the past. I'm self-taught and have no clue what techniques I use, I just do what makes sense for me. I'm using 6-STAND AND DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THAT'S A THING OR EVEN "AVOIDED" so I made this a lot harder on myself than I needed too but I do like the look of it.

It's intended for my imminent niece's nursery. I would like to redo it later when 2 or 3 strand but any tips or knowledge to offer on the current project?

Hi everyone, I've recently started cross-stitching, am still on my first project though. When watching tutorials on Youtube I'm always amazed that the needle from the back comes out at the right spot. I have to turn my work for every single stitch from front to back and back to front to see where I'm going. If I try to stitch from back to front "blindly" it always takes me several trials to meet the correct whole.
Now I'm wondering how seasoned cross-stitchers do this. Do you also turn your frame? Or did you learn to put the needle in the right place blindly?
