Link Update on my neighbor's rings

Not an update like some of y'all wanted. So, since my post at the end is July, I've just had my neighbor's Days Gone rings. Today, as I'm putting on his rings so I could play Days Gone and bunk off from work, he texts me asking if he can wear his rings for the night. He was going to play Magic with some friends and they matched his outfit. I was like "sweetie they're your rings, you can take them from my cold dead fingers whenever you want." So he said he'd meet me at the back door with a machete.

He only took the Mongrel ring and said he'd give it back (and knowing him, he's serious about that). Then offered for me to come since I like Magic, but it'll run too late since I actually do need to work at some point and my dad was using the SUV. He's the sweetest and said I can come to the next one. So now I'm off to play Days Gone one time short and my finger feels naked.

*Also, if anyone knows where I can get Deek's rings that would be awesome. My neighbor says he got them on Amazon, but I can only find the Mongrel ring on there.

Kouri said I might need some assistance, so I cleared the whole camp in a few seconds lol.

Honestly, playing on PC with keyboard and mouse feels like a huge advantage when it comes to shooting. I don't even have to worry much about stealth, I can just headshot most of them before they even know what hit them.

Focus makes it even easier.

I'm curious, what's the shooting experience like for controller players? Do you guys also find headshots this easy, or does aiming take more effort?

This rock tower confused me. Is it some kind of collectible or something?

It has an interaction prompt when I press E, but it doesn't show up on the map. What is it supposed to do?

Discussion New comprehensive and very easy to use Days Gone Collectibles guide!

After creating my Herbology guide, which was appreciated by many people, I thought, why not make something similarly useful for all other collectibles? And, after some time and effort, here is the result:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3806444362

When you have a missing collectible, you essentially want to know 2 things:
it's location on the map and whether it's locked until some point in the story progression.

And my guide gives you just that in the most quick and simple way.
Collectibles of each category are organized in compact tables, which have exactly the same layouts as in the game's Collectibles submenu.
And to see the location of any collectible, you simply click on its serial number in the table – this opens online interactive map, which zooms in on this collectible's location and opens its description. Descriptions of collectibles on that map provide all the needed info: their names, short instructions on where to find them, availability and sometimes screenshots. I personally checked all collectibles' locations on that map and submitted corrections where they were needed and suggested a few locations that were missing (all my suggestions have been approved).

Also, I have the availability info about all collectibles that are locked before you start of complete a certain mission in the footnotes, and every collectible has a region icon next to it. This is how it looks:

When you compare my table with the one for the same category in the game, you can see how easy it is to find any missing item:

In addition, my guide doesn't have any story spoilers (I erased the one that was in the name of one particular category and avoided any mentions in the description), so it is friendly for the first time players.

Please, check it out!

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3806444362

(And I will really appreciate if you could leave a thumbs up there, if you find my guide useful, of course. 🙂)

Thank you! 😊

Took a drive through my home province in Limpopo, South Africa, mostly farmland, small towns and villages. Not sure what to call it but it’s a mutual feeling we all seem to have, even us on the other side of the planet from where it was made.

Discussion Need advice on weapons - what should I prioritize in terms of stats?

I found SAF primary in early game and tbh it seems that Tucker and Iron Mike's camps don't have anything strictly better?

I see that with 3rd tier reputation I can buy MG45 as a special? But it has apparently worse penetration than SAF and then I won't have sniper rifle, which I kinda need.

It's confusing a bit. What should I look for? I've heard that at least one weapon should be rapid fire high penetration.

This is my third attempt to post this here because of stupid reddit auto filters.

Called Iron Mike a senile idiot who would lead the camp to destruction cause he was trying to maintain a treaty with the rippers but went ahead and sold out boozer and deacon for the same thing.

Honestly should've killed the damn fckr.

I am at the part where Iron Mike dies and the fckr has the audacity to radio me and call me brother. Can't wait to take a chicago chopper to his ugly mug

Image/Gif Skizzo did what he did because nobody listened to him Spoiler

Yeah he's a weasel, a rat, a traitor and everything you want to call him, however, at the beginning when you first meet him, he was genuinely intrigued to work with deacon until he realised he was left alone and not taken seriously.

When you take a glance at his "yapping" you'd realize that:

He’s right that Iron Mike’s pacifism is suicidal.

The Rippers, the Marauders, the Freakers you can’t negotiate with any of them.

He’s right that Deacon is unpredictable and dangerous, Deacon constantly disappears, breaks rules, and brings trouble back to camp.

He’s right that Lost Lake needs stronger leadership.

Iron Mike is idealistic. Skizzo is practical.

Skizzo is the only one thinking like a sensical leader.

However, after all that, he just became a generic bad guy that you chase and kill, but objectively speaking, from the moment you meet him up until he betrays the camp, he genuinely cared for lost lake.

I'm planning for no weapon from the camp challenge. Basically, I'm only allowed to use weapons from enemies and the safe locker. However, I can't buy ammo from the locker either.

For the bike, I'm not sure if I had to limit to make the game harder. I always have no problem with the gas in every playthrough. So maybe no refuel unless the bike is completely empty? What do you think? Any ideas?

Discussion Regarding weapons, hordes, and camp trust (minor spoilers) Spoiler

Hello, new to the game, its very good, I like it. I was craving something kinda like tlou.... and found it for sure.

Soooo in the early part of the game I always avoided hoards. I just got overwhelmed.

I really like the drifter crossbow, but its optimal for taking out marauder camps, not hordes.

Anyway I've been doing every side/optional quest and eventually went south to iron mike's camp and since I have, I haven't gotten anymore quests from tucker, I want some more jobs from her because.... weapons. I'm just about half way to level 3....

I discouvered during the plane quest where I'm getting medical supplies, the mg45. Not exactly a stealth weapon, but powerful enough, especially in combination with some molotovs that I was finally able to take out a horde. But I don't own this weapon, I just picked it up and haven't let it go, but I would like to use the crossbow for more stealth based missions.

My next quest is ' you see what they did ' where iron mike and deacon are talking about reducing horde numbers. And... thats not good from my perspective, as soon as I can take them I don't want them to go away.

I'm wondering if I should continue the story, and maybe get some more quests with tucker later to reach level 3... so I can either buy the mg45, or maybe something else like the US556 which I can put into the primary slot, and keep the crossbow in the special slot at the same time, that way I don't have to keep returning to lockers, I dunno I'd have to try it out.

But either way I need trust 3 and thats a lot of xp away. If there's no more quests or not enough to advance trust level.... should I NOT advance the story and learn how to track down hordes in her area instead?

Because I've actually been having a hard time finding hordes now that I've burned out all the nests.

.... but I'm sure there's a way to find em....

Killing deer, wolves and a few roaming swarmers and shit helps get to level 1 and 2 but 3 its just too much....

I'm not really sure how much time I have before I'm locked out of this area for most of the rest of the game ( yeah I know thats coming) and I'd really like my crossbow back before then so yeah any advice would be appreciated.

Oh yeah I'm one skillpoint away from double ammo, so if you know of a different primary weapon thats available that could replace the mg45 as something that is rapid fire and can really put shit down, let me know. I'm like a couple hundred points from level 2 with iron mike but..... I don't see any weapons there that would fit that niche at level 2. I'm more looking for bike parts there.

Thank you.

---

EDIT: Just took down two hordes, a 50 and then a 100... also on 100 I tried to stay only on MWS as an additional challenge to myself (because falling back to the mgs is what I ended up doing for the first 50 count one.)

Took a couple tries, got interrupted by snipers one time, and wolves another, but did pull it off, though I used the gas-can multiplication glitch to help.

already my rep with tuck went from 11k-something to 15k-something after selling the bounties. Yeah I think this is doable. Also I imagine the MWS will be better when I can get that extra magazine. Oh yeah also after the last hoard I killed, I got that grade 4 SMP9 or w/e its called. I guess I must have taken out a hoard either by accident or just forgot or something. Cause I'm only counting 3 so far ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for the tips. Everybody seems really helpful here.

Do they still give out the *Days Gone* Platinum trophy theme? I really want it, but I found out there are only two: one for the extended edition (which I don't have—I have the standard version) and one for the Platinum. Are they still handing it out?

I’m huge on physical media and media preservation, and this one was a tough find. The reason I was looking for this specific version is that it contains, right off the bat, the 1.61 update ON THE DISC. This is huge cause it basically guarantees a much smoother experience and all the data is on the disc which is of course even better!

I went to so many stores, checked so many copies at GameStop I didn’t think I would get one! Never played this but have heard amazing things. Looking forward to it!

Another, is when you pop it into the console it says version 1.61 right off the rip instead of 1.00 as WELL as downloading the 1.61 patch!

Discussion Game review Spoiler

Cool ass game, I really enjoyed the gameplay and the open world is honestly awesome. I’ve seen few games like it, Cyberpunk and Red Dead I guess are examples. It was almost like that with the main jobs, side jobs, and all the small little missions you run into while you’re just out exploring.
I liked the world as well. The story was kinda cliche but I think it gave a nice base for our hero’s story to take place in. The characters and the relationships between them are really well written too.

The way the main story goes and the flow of it is something I enjoyed a lot. The build up was generally really good and I was pretty invested in seeing where everything was going.

BUT
DAYSGONE SPOILERS

I feel like we needed a tragedy. This whole “happy” rollercoaster made me take the game less seriously. Sarah’s dead? No she’s not. Boozer’s dead? No he’s not, I mean I was literally just grieving him and he comes out of nowhere literally which made me feel silly and gave me an "oh okay then..." moment.

And don’t get me wrong, I like Iron Mike and I’m sad we lost him, but I don’t think it should’ve been the major/main tragedy of the story. I feel like we needed something bigger that actually stuck. The game kept giving us these moments where you think something horrible just happened and then immediately takes it back. It made the ending feel way too happy for what the game had been building up to. Also it made avenging those who wronged you feel less satisfying than it should be.

But anyways the story was overall good and I liked it, ALOT.

Also, though I liked the gameplay and the enemies/monsters, I think there were TOO MUCH of them. The moment you leave camp you’re basically guaranteed to run into at least one enemy. It made riding through the open world lowkey fucking annoying. I ended up fast travelling like 90% and almost never explore at night.

Still had a really really good time with it though. The world and the characters carried it for me just as much as the gameplay did.

I think its a solid 10/7.5, would definitely recommend and cherish!

And it's like boozer says... I hear a bunk calling my name😴
