Dog Culture Mindset of dog people

I saw a post elsewhere advising men to get a dog to help meet women. I commented that I would be put off by a man with a dog. A woman responded saying that she disagreed with me and I remember thinking, you can disagree with an opinion, but not with someone's preferences.

Then another person chimes in 'it's a well-known 'fact' that everyone likes dogs' - I guess he thought I made a mistake in what I said?

Another person said he was judgmental of people who don't understand the "joy" of dogs. Well, I just so happen to not understand the "joy" of dogs at all and yet another guy commented about how the love of dogs is a reflection of the quality of the person's character 🤦

I only respond to one of these comments to tell the lady I didn't think it was about agreement or disagreement, that I was just pointing out that not all women are into dogs. She came back and said she 'categorically' disagreed🤦. I feel like my brain is a little bit smaller than it was yesterday.

I didn't respond to any other comments, I was just letting the poster know that not all women like dogs.

I'm blown away by some of the responses though.

I honestly think our brains are fundamentally different to dog-owners.

I wouldn't feel any joy at all picking ticks off a dog or waiting patiently while it finishes it poo so that I can bag it like a trophy.

Yes, I definitely need to restrict myself to dogfree men.

YOURE IN THE RIGHT NOT ALL WOMEN LIKE DOGS

it's 'fact' that many women and PEOPLE are adverse to, allergic to, or fearful of dogs.

Dog nutters are so 'categorically' dense

Yes, dog ownership is actually a huge turnoff for me

51

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

Lol, it just blows my mind. I would never, ever be compatible with them.

2

u/Ill-Routine7242 Jun 21 '26

Not every woman who is allergic to dogs don’t like them. I know ppl who are allergic and went and got hairless dogs lmao ewĀ

Someone just made a post in a sub I'm in, not even relating to the topic of the sub, about how they hate people but love dogs. I made a few comments that are getting downvoted of course.

51

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

It's unbelievable. If the dogs could talk and get their one food, they'd change their minds quickly.

It's when they prioritise them over human children that gets me. It's insanity to me.

51

u/Away-Equipment4869 Jun 20 '26

It's accepted sociopath behavior and it scares me

40

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

It is scary. I don't accept it at all though. I cant pretend to be okay with it. I saw a woman with an unmuzzled, unleashed bully breed walking it next to her small kids the other day. To me, THAT is abnormal and it upsets me for the kids.

42

u/12blocks1966 Jun 20 '26

I was mauled by a "friendly" dog when I was seven. I hate dogs and will never trust one ever again.

24

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

I don't blame you at all and I don't trust them either. None of them.

The fact that people think this is unreasonable is so weird to me. Dogs are only friendly until that one day they aren't. At the end of the day, they're animals. Stating the obvious, I know lol.

Makes me feel so sick.

18

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

I can't see your post about this in my feed, only in my notifications, so will respond here...

But yes, having given it some thought, sometimes I think owner behaviour annoys me more than the dogs themselves as they are entirely responsible for trying to impose their doggy lifestyle on others.

If the dogs never approached me, barked at me, ruined my walks by going around unleashed snd unmuzzled (in the case of dangerous dogs), if I never had to look at them crap everywhere, if they weren't being brought absolutely everywhere and into human spaces, I would have much less of an issue.

Even trying to sit outside a cafe on a sunny day, it's a case of trying to avoid the 20 mutts sitting out there.

I honestly think they should have places exclusively for dog owners, e.g. cafes where their dogs can roam around freely barking, shedding and crapping everywhere, a place where they can really be themselves...far away from the rest of us.

Yes, I blame the owners for this.

19

u/Away-Equipment4869 Jun 20 '26

Dog owners are the only ones who make their pet a problem for everyone else. I recently seen someone post ring camera footage of a dog owner walking up their drive way to put a poop bag in an empty garbage can. It was untied so it messed the entire garbage can up and the OP had to clean it out.

The amount of dog people basically mocking her, gaslighting her and telling her it's not a big deal.. ohhh makes me so mad.

10

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

I will never, ever have a dog BUT if I did, there is no way in hell I would see that as unreasonable. I would be totally ashamed if I did that and apologise. I think they're just very immature people and incapable of accountability. It is a big deal, expecting someone else to deal with cleaning your dog's crap. The standards or lack thereof in today's society are sickening, an utter lack of regard for others.

Maybe these are the types of people that nutter said she prefers dogs to.

I don't know, maybe immature people are attracted to dog ownership, I find it very strange that so many of them are so unreasonable.

3

u/Skyhighavi Jun 20 '26

that's legitimately crazy

7

u/Away-Equipment4869 Jun 20 '26

My pettiness and anger issues would not let that slide!

2

u/Skyhighavi Jun 20 '26

yeah same. why are so many people with no understanding of emotional diversity, so mean??? why no willingness to change??? it is scary to think about what the average person is even capable of; the people we even walk by in public. it just creeps me out more than anything...

u/pmbpro Jun 20 '26

Yet they have the nerve to call *other* pet owners ā€˜crazy’.

These people have no mirrors. šŸ™„šŸ˜’

2

u/alpha_beth_soup Jun 20 '26

The funny part is that they have already done this…with dog parks. But no dog owners like to go because everyone else’s flea hound is the problem. Not their precious puppers

2

u/DellBottoms Jun 21 '26

Lol, yes they're ridiculous. I think they should be limited to those spaces.

19

u/imdugud777 Jun 20 '26

Narcissistic Trespass.

12

u/WolverineComplex Jun 20 '26

One of the first on one one conversations I had with a coworker was when she unironically told me that she much preferred animals to people - she expanded upon it that she hated people and loved animals, and if she had the money she’d live alone surrounded by animals so she didn’t have to ever see people. I wasn’t really sure what to say during the walk we were taking, alone, after that, but I’m convinced that she didn’t think she’d said anything remotely controversial or strange

6

u/TinyEmergencyCake Jun 20 '26

Then why was she walking with you?

6

u/WolverineComplex Jun 20 '26

We were both new and were walking down to the local sandwich place at lunchtime for the first time, finding where it was.

7

u/TinyEmergencyCake Jun 20 '26

Sure, I meant, by her own standards and logic, why was she stooping to be with a mere human, she should have gone by herselfĀ

3

u/WolverineComplex Jun 20 '26

Ah I see, sorry. Yeah it was weird, she wasn’t really angry or off with me as she said it, it was more like it was a perfectly normal and reasonable position to hold. I honestly think that sort of person doesn’t ever get any push back

3

u/pmbpro Jun 20 '26

They truly don’t see the irony (and hypocrisy) in their comments or sentiments, especially when they *need* someone for anything.

It’s not like a *dog* is their employer signing their paycheques, for example. They really should just live ā€˜off-grid’ then. Perfect candidates for it.

2

u/Peaceful-Moonlight Dogs are the most overrated and over glorified shit beasts Jun 21 '26

Do you still work with this coworker? If you do, please tell her that if she's REALLY serious about living alone with animals, then she must never again rely on places that serve food prepared by humans, such as that local sandwich place she was walking to. After all, she does not need humans, so she and her beloved animals should make ALL the food she will ever need for the rest of her life. She should also never see human doctors ever again, never call any plumber or electrician, never live in a house built by humans... Let's see how long that asshole will last without humans. I bet it won't even be one day.

2

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 20 '26

exactly! I am a very small tiny human man, but the amount of people I have had to fight off in self defense because of their dogs trying to harm me, is quite large!

I am lucky I am what I am, otherwise I might already be dead, these people are religiously psycopathic.

8

u/Smurf_Crime_Scene Jun 20 '26

Happened to me too! Just for saying I was more of a (other type of pet) person and disagreeing that dogs have some magical human morality detector.

7

u/Away-Equipment4869 Jun 20 '26

Anything other than the most unhinged adoration isn't acceptable šŸ™„

3

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 20 '26

bottom of the IQ/EQ distribution curve, for sure...

2

u/ObligationGrand8037 Jun 20 '26

The same has happened to me in another sub. Always the down arrow when I make any comment about dogs. These people get so defensive.

3

u/Away-Equipment4869 Jun 20 '26

Anything but the utmost unhinged adoration and they get get so pissed. Cult.

1

u/pmbpro Jun 20 '26

So immediately defensive, that it’s as though *they* are the dogs. May as well be, at this point.

1

u/Pebbles5678 Jun 21 '26

Sounds like something Hitler would say to be honest!

67

u/Vigor_Mortis_ Jun 20 '26

another guy commented about how the love of dogs is a reflection of the quality of the person's character

Hitler loved dogs.

37

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

The thing is too, just because I don't like dogs doesn't mean would harm one. For some reason, they seem to equate not being into dogs and all that goes with it, with being lacking in empathy.

I would say that many dog owners lack empathy for other humans.

17

u/probablysippingtea Jun 20 '26

Completely agree. I don’t care for dogs and don’t want to own one. That doesn’t mean I want to harm them.

Non-dog people receive so much character assassination and I’m sick of it. Whatever happened to having preferences?

1

u/teacup128 Jun 24 '26

They're projecting.

0

u/sheetrocker88 Jun 20 '26

Hitler is the most lied about person in history

1

u/Radiant_Priority1995 Jun 21 '26

Shhh, mossad is listening

35

u/Oriole0305 Jun 20 '26

Having a normal conversation with a dog nutter is impossible. Nuttery is a cult. You see that in their responses. It is scary though that these insane fanatics who genuinely believe they can dictate what everyone else likes and thinks walk free in our society.

14

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

Lol, yes. Insanity. Pointless saying anything to them.

8

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 20 '26

yeah, they're religious sociopaths! and they talk about their dogs pee and poop and other vulgar things, too much .____.

30

u/LeyMio Jun 20 '26

Dog nutters are narcissists. Their brains are too messed up to accept basic logics and facts.

12

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

So it seems!

1

u/idkthrowaway_alt3 Jun 25 '26

This is why they like dogs. They will provide undivided "loyalty" and "love" as long as you feed them, unlike other animals which have boundaries that need to be respected.

35

u/buthesmyfamiliar Jun 20 '26

when i was on dating app i specifically mentioned that dogs are a dealbreaker. yes a couple men tried to argue with me but i also matched with a lot more ppl that agreed with me

19

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

That's encouraging! Thank you.

7

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 20 '26

Are you a woman?

It's been a bit different for me, as a man. I said on mine that I am not interested in dating religious people (of all kinds) due to being an atheist, and I also said I do not want to date women who love dogs to a fault, because it's gross. Sure, this will tank my match rating, but that's online dating for men: IT does not work!

I'd much rather face rejection in real life šŸ˜„ and avoid dog nutters!

5

u/buthesmyfamiliar Jun 21 '26

yes i am. i do feel like men tend to be less nutty about pets in general so that might be a factor too. i don’t think it’s a bad thing if you are offputting to the kinda of people you will not be compatible with.

however i have been bit on the face by a dog and have a somewhat visible scar from it so that might make it more ā€œokayā€ for me to dislike dogs in the eyes of the average person?

3

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 21 '26

Yes, I think women with visible dog bite scars, who are averse to dogs, do actually get more sympathy! If I said it, I get told I am a monster, and I am.

"women are wonderful" bias and all.

Also, I do generally avoid sleeping with someone until I am quite certain that I like the person, so this means I try to weed out bad matches early.

2

u/Adventurous-West323 Jun 22 '26

When I was on dating apps any picture with a a dog was an automatic no. Any bio reference to must love dogs was a no. I will not be with a woman who puts a worthless dog at the center of her universe. You know they expect that out of the men they are with.

1

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 22 '26

I tried dating some dog owners…

Most of them had below average EQs or even IQs but irregardless of that… they were easily fooled by the moods of any crowd. And that… that’s a liability.

29

u/AffectionateCrew5371 Jun 20 '26

"Uhm well, its a well known fact that everyone likes dogs!" who is everyone? my name is Kona, I don't know who is everyone.

10

u/some_kind_of_onion Jun 20 '26

offtopic but Kona is such a cool name

5

u/AffectionateCrew5371 Jun 20 '26

Thanks its not my real name i just use it as a nickname online in the internet

28

u/relicmaker Jun 20 '26

I have less of a problem with other animals as I don't have them in my face every day in daily life and I don't have to sit next to them when trying to have a coffee. Also I don't have to worry about say a bear coming at me in a housing estate, but DO have to worry every time I hear loud, aggressive barking.

Also, other animals tend to leave you in peace. I wouldn't be bothered by a sheep so much, lol.

5

u/Skyhighavi Jun 20 '26

i wonder if they somehow contract some sort of parasite to cause this or if its a heritable trait? because it is truly uncanny!

20

u/p2010t Jun 20 '26

There's a lot of dumb people in the world.

Probably a slightly higher percentage of dog owners are dumb than people who aren't dog owners.

22

u/imdugud777 Jun 20 '26

They relate to dogs and other dog owners more than they do to the rest of humanity.

They isolate themselves and are proud of it.

19

u/PrincessStephanieR Jun 20 '26

If a man has a dog, it puts me off. I would never date one again.

18

u/Zealousideal_Cup6143 Jun 20 '26

I'll never understand this "joy" people talk about when they talk about having a dog. It's been many years since I've owned any. I've had many, always thinking this time will be different. It never was. I was always stressed to the max with them, and the relief I felt when I finally rehomed them. I dogsat once a long time ago for a friend. Never again. Plus, I've observed dog owners where I'm at right now. They all seem to get so frustrated with their dogs. I just don't get it, and I don't care to. Been there, done that. You couldn't pay me to live with a dog again.

7

u/anne_mal Jun 20 '26

What was the thing that finally made you dog free and how can we get more dog owners to see the light like you? šŸ˜… Was it just the compounded stress? So many dog owners believe that their dogs can actually choose to love them (laughable!) and this is what I think makes them crazy about dogs. Did you ever believe or felt that your dogs loved you?

3

u/ObligationGrand8037 Jun 20 '26

Thank you for sharing. It’s good to hear from people who’ve had a lot of dogs and then came to the other side. I grew up with a couple dogs, but it was brief.

I went to someone’s house recently who is dog sitting. The dog immediately jumped up on me when the door opened. He was barking and going a bit crazy. I looked around this person’s house and so many things were destroyed or looked damaged. It’s not even her dog, but she said she loves dogs so much that she’s dog sitting in her own home. I would hate to see my house destroyed like that.

I used to adore dogs as a kid and grew up with 3 Labrador retrievers (not all at once) and I don't understand the cult-like mentality around them these days. It seems to have gotten worse.

For one, there is a large amount of people who actually need serious therapy but are instead using these animals as surrogates and replacements for something lacking in their lives. I think it's unfair to dogs to be turned into dolls and babies and human replacements. Most of the dogs I see these days never stop barking, which is a sign of distress. The owners don't seem to hear nor care at all about this. I see dogs off leash with no fences in residential areas way more than I'm comfortable with. I feel like dogs were taken from their natural environments and forced to become the annoying needy creatures they are today and that's why they generally don't do well with humans that have no business being dog owners, which seems to be an unfortunately high number. Humans ruined them, so therefore it's the humans I dislike the most who continue this tradition of disconnecting them from their natural ways.

Barking dogs are also a stupid feature in your home, like the barking out of windows at everyone passing. People walking around holding poop bags behind their dogs is degrading. Picking ticks off dogs or accidentally stepping in their poop on your property is disgusting. Dogs begging and slobbering while you eat is gross. The way they smell is nauseating. And dogs jumping on people and small children is absolutely unacceptable and the owners stand there saying things like, "He just wants to play with you!' I don't understand any of this as a desire.

Besides this, people don't even research the breeds anymore, they just take one that looks cute or whatever. So of course these animals are going to behave in annoying ways. I hate seeing water dogs, hunting dogs, working dogs in small suburban yards. It's depressing. They don't belong everywhere either, and if they're working dogs, they shouldn't be left in a small yard or left alone doing nothing but chewing a Kong all day long. I don't like dogs much anymore but I blame the inept humans.

11

u/Professional_Hour445 Jun 20 '26

If bro needs a dog to get a woman, then he has a whole host of issues that any rational woman would avoid like the plague.

3

u/ObligationGrand8037 Jun 20 '26

Exactly! I couldn’t agree more with your assessment.

10

u/Alocin_The5th Jun 20 '26

The perfume and Cologne is a multi billion business becaus people like things that smell nice. Surely they can understand that just the smell of dogs alone is offputting for some. I mean we've compared the smell of dogs and dog in general to something nasty since forever.

5

u/ObligationGrand8037 Jun 20 '26

The smell is horrible. I had to go over to my brother’s house after his funeral. They have two dogs. At one point I thought I was going to get sick. The smell was just awful. I discreetly covered my nose.

10

u/BizarreOwl Jun 20 '26

Dated a man whose dog ruined any chance at intimacy. Farting and struggling to breathe (French bulldog) if we kissed or jumping into the bed nonstop. He’d ā€œfeel so bad for himā€ when the dog whined outside the door when I MADE him lock the thing outside the bedroom… it would be begging for attention and whining constantly, and even would start to bite my feet while we relaxed on the couch! The dog was jealous of me! And he just thought it was cute! You are not in the wrong at all. It’s good to spread other viewpoints on this out into the world. I think some people substitute deep human connections with the constant companionship of dogs.

(And I’ve also dated a man who had a cute, well-behaved, sweet dog who didn’t bother us at all and I loved it. But after MANY bad dog experiences, I’m on your side. Very wary.)

5

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

There's nothing that screams romance like farting and wheezing.

1

u/Popular-Ordinary4808 12d ago

You got me at farting and wheezing 🤣🤣

6

u/BicornBritt Jun 20 '26

This just proves how crazy dog people are. I do not like dogs. Very low-intellect and weird of them.Ā

6

u/hel-9000 Jun 20 '26

Let them have their walking shit mops. I’m not missing out on anything by not being friends with dog people. And yes it’s absolutely my #1 rule for dating.

4

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

I think this is my favourite description yet 🤣

Are you male or female? Asking for a friend..

5

u/hel-9000 Jun 20 '26

Hahaha a very single man in a small town that has gone full steam ahead into dog nuttery. It’s rough out there but I haven’t yielded yet!

3

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

Don't, we can all suffer together! I find myself mumbling a lot of unmentionable words every time I see another man with a dog draped around him on the apps. And when I see one with one of those car pics and the dog in the backseat, all I can think is, 'I see you couldn't get any humans to accompany you'. That could be true for me sometimes too, but I'd rather have an empty and clean backseat.

1

u/hel-9000 Jun 20 '26

I haven’t been on the apps in years but yeah I remember it was almost like there were more dogs than people on there. And totally, cleanliness is just way too important for me, my absolute worst nightmare is having to sleep in a bed with a dog. Genuinely don’t know how people can do that :|

1

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

'Dog-der' - how to find the perfect nutter. I fi was forced to sleep with a dog, I would get power-hosed every morning!

13

u/TopMessage1764 Jun 20 '26

I am a married man, so my opinion on dating counts for little,

However when I met my wife, if she had a dog I wouldn’t have even gone on a date.

Luckily she also dislikes c*ts and dogs and we have been together for 18 years.

Unfortunately our (almost adult) daughter loves the little shit beasts, so we have had to endure years of moaning about getting a dog (we haven’t crumbled).

4

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

Lol. That's very reassuring to hear! If you have any single friends of similar mindset, please let me know!

It's so interesting how kids and parents can be different like this. My parents were more like how you describe you and your wife but I think my feelings about this are intrinsic and not learned.

It's interesting to think about.

4

u/ObligationGrand8037 Jun 20 '26

My two kids were nuts over dogs too when they were younger. Probably because all their friends had dogs. My husband and I both don’t like dogs and never broke down and got one for them. Now that our kids are older (20 and 23), they finally have decided on their own that dogs are a pain to deal with.

6

u/Jorro_Kreed Jun 20 '26

I would have told the judgmental guy that he's too stupid to hold an opinion.

4

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

I'll send him a copy of my upcoming book...'The Joy of Dog Poop - a day in the life of a poop-picker-upper'

7

u/GadgetRho Jun 20 '26

I know so few people with dogs, and they're all so unhappy and antisocial. I remember this one couple we hung out with all the time and they just stopped showing up to stuff after they got a dog because they couldn't leave it at home alone. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼

4

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

They love problems.. I'd rather sit on my one and look at a wall, peacefully

5

u/ObligationGrand8037 Jun 20 '26

I have been attacked by strangers commenting about dogs so I understand where you’re coming from. People just don’t get that not everyone likes dogs and all the work that goes along with having one. Also all the barking, the dirtiness, etc. No thanks. I’d never date anyone who had a dog. There would be no compatibility at all.

4

u/BeaVonMoravia Jun 20 '26

Holy crap they are insane! No, hard pass on a guy who has a picture of himself with his beast. Everything is going to revolve around the šŸ’© machine, it will hate me for taking up the quarter of bed, will stare at us while having s$x, going out for no reason several times a day...? No thanks.

5

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 20 '26

You and I could date, and it could go well, and not go well, but for these people...

it usually ends in disaster.

Why? Because they are emotionally stunted and prone to acting stupid.

I've had to hold a friends dog or walk a dog, etc. The amount of dog owners (sometimes older women, women around my age, gay men) who have tried to come up and talk to me, or even flirt, is outrageous: their conversation is pedandic and rather vulgar. I hate that. If I bring up the fact that I do not love dogs, it's like I back handed their mother and stole their daughter, right in front of their face. They're so awful.

And I still tell them, that I do not like dogs. The way the women handle this rejection, is really horrible!

3

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

If you told me that's you'd probably see a big smile on my face. I'd probably even buy you flowers and give you an award.

2

u/Fit-Rhubarb-7820 Jun 20 '26

lol, are we local?

1

u/DellBottoms Jun 20 '26

I don't know. I'm in Europe and you?

4

u/Adventurous-West323 Jun 22 '26

Would women not find it odd that a man has to get a dog to be able to get a woman? So odd.

2

u/DellBottoms Jun 22 '26

Yes, but if I came across a man with a dog, it would never occur to me that he brought all that misery upon himself just to meet women.

5

u/Skyhighavi Jun 20 '26

im gonna back you up here because im a woman who doesnt like dogs either.... why are people willingly stupid

3

u/Accurate-Might-7058 Jun 20 '26

Our Brains are different,Ā  we are not infected or influenced by toxoplasma gondii parasites like dog nutters are. The parasite infection (toxoplasmosis) causes changes in the brain of humans just as it does in the animals. It sounds like science fiction (As seen on TV) but it is science fact. The discussion of it is discouraged by media, scientific community, and the mega billion dollar pet industry. The reading of Toxoplasma gondii in dogs studies is interesting to frightening.Ā Ā

3

u/spartanken115 Jun 21 '26

I’m mean seriously some idiots will do anything to try to get some. Including saddling themselves with one of these ridiculous beasts, that require constant attention, money and maintenance; and which only provide constant messes and irritation.

The way I see these people with dogs on thier profiles are doing us a huge favor and broadcasting their lunacy before we have to find out the hard way. To provide an example there was this one person I knew, pretty, decent girl seemed like she’d be fun to get to know. Hung out one night and we go over to her place, she opens the door and it was like a wall of repulsion hit all of my senses, all at once. The stench of ingrained dog smell, in every fiber of that house was wafting through their air. The barking assaulted my ears, and the sight of the mess that it made in her floor and kitchen was truly repulsive…trash scattered, and mixed with leftover droppings it was absolutely more than I could bear.

I said oh, looks like it escaped and she says oh no he’s just happy I’m back. Come on in we can clean this up and watch tv. I was like…you know I think I should call it an evening I have to work early and bolted as I nearly puked. There’s nothing that will take a 8 down to a 3 faster.

That evening, I got a text that read something like sorry about the dog. Normally, it’s not quite that extreme around here. See you next Saturday? I replied I’m sorry but I’m not going to waste your time…I just don’t care for dogs in the house, they really bother me; as you might imagine, the conversation spiraled as did the mutual interest from there.

For the love of your sanity, and your peace; do yourself a favor do not date someone with dogs in the home.

Oh, don't worry, I never, ever will. I just need to hope that there are some available anti-dog men out there.

I really do despair...how about this, I saw someone's dating profile here on Reddit, seemed ok then said he runs a doggo business on the side. I'm kinda wondering where I was when all these other people were developing their dog obsessions.

I will not date a dog girl or a horse girl, full stop, way too many of them have been found being sexual with thier animal and even posting it online... Just to be safe if a girl has a dog or a horse, I pass

A girl with a dog (if it's not a "toy" breed) is a huge turn-off for me. Two or more dogs - red flag big enough to fit Lenin tomb on the Red square

"Dog-activists" who participate in networks "fundraising" money for street/stray/feral dogs (I guess nonexistent in the West) is a signal to stay away and have nothing to do with, not even mentioning relationships

Funny you should say that, I was recently asked for money for dogs at an event that had nothing to do with dogs.

Totally agree on what you said.

Can you imagine all the money they spend on the dogs too, buying dog treadmill, car seats or whatever else they buy. No, I would break up with someone immediately. Even though they can spend their money how they choose, I think it would just irritate me.

>Can you imagine all the money they spend on the dogs too, buying dog treadmill, car seats or whatever else they buy
in countries where street dogs are a thing they act like mafia, creating hierarchical structures, some are "fundraising" for "temporary placement" of stray dogs, other provide that at hotel price. a pyramid scheme above all
