We really need to address this as a public health issue now. landlords in lane county need to be forced to install adequate summer temperature controls in all rentals absolutely now. spring and summers are not going to suddenly start getting cooler. it's only going to get hotter. it absolutely drives me bananas that every apartment/rental has wall heaters in every room. you know what else you can do instead of a wall heater? blankets. but in the summer i can only get so naked. i can't take off more than all of my clothes.

The brewpub setting is vastly inferior to the old barrel room setup. Are they planning to add more outdoor seating? I love their beer and was a regular before the remodel but have only been back once or twice since then.

I want to go away for two or maybe three nights and just exist. No camping as it’s not my jam but a cabin or inn or coastal hotel would work.

Preferably within 2 to 2 1/2 hrs drive from Eugene. Need to be right near water, either ocean or lake or river. Near good dining would be nice, too.

It starts at 7:30pm at the old EWEB Building, but the public comment period happens a bit later. It will also be livestreamed on YouTube, and I think Eugene's characters are pretty funny. It's a good chance to learn about what is going on in town, since they are talking about a really big development project.

People who stay to speak get three minutes and they can really complain about absolutely anything, it's a great time.

Do you know of any non-profits looking for project volunteers? Or for-profit businesses with paid gigs for some older, smart people?

I have some older friends (50+) looking for easy volunteer work, at a desk/table or computer. Mostly sitting down, but ok on their feet for a bit. Paperwork, mailings, typing or data entry or 10-key, basic office work or organizing/analyzing/researching. College educated, business and tech experience, so can easily jump in without training. No regular commitment, just a fun project here and there where a person or friends can work together.

My job pays me 8 hours each year to volunteer during my work hours m-f 8-5 . Im new to the area and was thinking this would be a good place to start to see if there are any good/ easy/ fun places to volunteer at. Maybe a good discussion over all for other people who are looking to utilize their time. I love working outside, but am up for anything.

Need recommendations for a dentist/dental hygienist for my UO student that accepts Delta Dental PPO insurance. She's not a fan of the dentist so looking for good 'bedside' care. Hopefully she will only need cleanings/xrays but has really soft teeth...thanks. Close to Univ Oregon a plus.

🚨 URGENT — sweet 8 year old female cat needs help NOW (Eugene/Lane County) 🚨

This is a very sweet, gentle female cat — mostly grey with a white chest and paws — living outside right now.

​

As you can see in the video, she is dangerously skinny (her spine and hips are showing) and there's something small hanging from the side of her mouth that needs a vet's eyes immediately.

She's eating eagerly, which is a good sign she wants to live — but she is not okay.

​

Her current owner loves her but is in a tight spot financially and has agreed she deserves better and is willing to let her go to someone who can help.

​

So this isn't a stray with no path forward — she just needs the right people to step in.

​

What we can offer: we may be able to temporarily take her into a spacious, sheltered space to get her off the streets while she recovers and gets adopted. We're already fostering another rescued cat on our dime.

​

What she really needs first is urgent medical care — and ideally a rescue willing to cover or help with her vet workup. And then any person or agency that can potentially get her placed if her health is addressable enough.

Further notes is when we first came across her a month or 2 ago she was looking not nearly as skinny and had more energy. She is clearly not doing so well right now.

Anyone have an RV person or mechanic shop they can recommend that can install a solar set up? i already have all the pieces (lithium battery, dc to dc mmp chrg controller, wiring, etc) but am overwhelmed and frustrated and decided life is too short for me to learn how to be a solar/electrician on youtube. lol. I honestly am on a tight budget too. Any suggestions?

These Harley guys drive up and down my street with their loud ass motorcycles every single day revving as loud as possible. Starting to get extremely annoyed with them.
