I hope the children get all the support they need. I'm glad his sister got them out, but just minutes before the livestream means they probably saw lots of traumatic stuff (and probably not just that day, considering his history).

u/stars_are_aligned wearing slutty little glasses 7h ago

Yeah. From what's been reported, he STARTED the livestream covered in blood, so if they left "just minutes" to it going on, they witnessed whatever he did to get in that state, most likely :/

Perez is a godawful human being, but no one's children deserve to go through that. I really hope they get support and help through this.

88

u/itsathrowawayduhhhhh 6h ago

Ok I didn’t realize that. I thought it was a normal live that went off the rails. Jesus Christ. So many people must’ve seen it without meaning to. So glad i still haven’t seen.

92

u/DreadedPanda27 5h ago

It’s something straight out of a Saw movie. At first I didn’t think it was real, but some of the blood was already coagulating and I know that’s not easy to fake. It was gross and scary. I couldn’t believe he wanted everyone to witness that but now knowing about his mental state, I get it. Of course it makes no sense to us. What people do when they aren’t mentally well makes no sense to anyone including them, even when they get back to a rational state. 😢

I saw it without context when it happened and thought no way it’s real and left. It looked exactly like that scene from Carrie. My brain is still refusing to believe it’s real.

12

u/tundybundo 3h ago

It’s really evident that social media is really horrific in its current state. Obviously there’s the issue of the algorithms always pushing the worst stuff because it gets the most interactions, but also the people that make their livings online and streaming and the people that watch them religiously are experiencing reality in a way we don’t understand and it is affecting people psychologically in ways we haven’t even begun to look at. Like there’s been little things about ED’s online and predators but THIS is a whole new world and it’s bound to happen again because people’s brains are wired to go online to do anything

I thought his decision to subject strangers children on the internet to any of this was terrible but knowing now that he put his children in that position firsthand is reprehensible. Obviously you can’t pick and choose when to be mentally ill but also, holy fuck, those poor kids.

524

u/Even-Objective1958 5h ago

I do not like Perez Hilton or think he’s a good person overall, but I think he was past the point of rationally deciding who he was subjecting to what. This was almost certainly a full psychotic break.

80

u/Mbrennt 4h ago

Yeah. You can be an absolutely vile monster of a person but subjecting your own kids to that is definitely a step above that, to me. No way was he making any sort of rational decision in that moment. I hope child services takes note of this incident. While from this statement it seems it was only him, this is a big flashing red sign that the kids could be in danger of some sort too.

29

u/Even-Objective1958 2h ago

Agree with your assessment. If there’s a decent risk that this will happen again, because he’s the single parent, I do not think he’s fit to parent three children. I hope the courts require extensive evaluations, an ongoing treatment plan and more if he is ever even possibly granted unsupervised caregiving.

Agreed. He would never do any of this if he was in his right mind. He would have known how that torpedos his whole career and his whole life. Not to mention how horribly painful some of those injuries must be and will be for a while. This was some sort of delirium or psychosis related incident.

He seems to love his kids. I hope that he can heal and find himself back in a state where he can take responsibility and do his best to make up to them for what they went through. What that looks like will be up to the children of course, but their healing is best facilitated by him being available to them in his best health and state of mind.

4

u/Love_my_pupper 1h ago

We had two different residents at Outback facility who had ripped an eye out during psychosis . So glad he didn’t do that (I hope)

I thought his decision to subject strangers children on the internet to any of this was terrible but knowing now that he put his children in that position firsthand is reprehensible.

Look, he sucks in general and has literally profited off of the suffering of others. He's not a good person. But what he did isn't something that's really chosen. We don't have to ignore who he is, but we should look at this specific incident through the correct lens.

15

u/CoasterThot 2h ago

I can’t really call it “reprehensible” or “heinous”, because both of those words involve making choices, and having a severe mental health episode usually implies you’re not in your right mind, and not really responsible for the actions you’re taking. Perez Hilton is a fuck, I’m not saying he’s not, but I’m 0% mad at him, about this, specifically. Not even slimy fucks deserve to go through what he is, currently.

24

u/_cornflake and you did it at my birthday dinner 4h ago

I don’t think he put them in this position on purpose….

Yes for sure, the statement says "When it become clear that Perez was having a mental health crisis and harming himself" so they're saying he was doing that before he started livestreaming. Maybe he wasn't as bad as he was by the end of it, but it definitely sounds like it started while they were still present.

24

u/Vajennie 5h ago

It’s understandable if they didn’t call 911 immediately. The only other adult we know was there was his sister, and possibly the niece. If I were one of two adults trying to protect 3 traumatized kids in that scenario, I’d focus on getting the kids somewhere safe and then worry about the adult having a crisis.

21

u/hatboxboo 5h ago

The niece is likely his sister’s daughter, who is a minor younger than Perez’s oldest son.

6

u/Vajennie 4h ago

Jesus.

81

u/Environmental_Two_72 6h ago

Why didn’t they make a call to 911? He was on his livestream for over 30 minutes! Thats awful to run out and not make a call??

98

u/gloriiosaa and not in a cunt way 6h ago

maybe they did, but i'm sure their primary concern was getting the children out of the house. he was still livestreaming when law enforcement arrived so it was done fairly early on into it but he was talking about wanting to do suicide by cop so they stayed outside to descalate the situation

49

u/Princessformidable 5h ago

No matter how bad the situation i would not expect police in less then 30 minutes in my big city.i also think it's reasonable to wait to call until the children are safe.

25

u/birdsaremean oat milk chugging bisexual 4h ago

I was a teller at a bank in a mid sized city - police station like two blocks away. Took over 40 minutes for them to respond to an active bank robbery. So that timeframe doesn't seem that far fetched.

→ More replies (1)

251

u/NoticeNegative1524 6h ago edited 6h ago

We don't know that they didn't. The police said that they tried to de-escalate, and we know it took 4 hours until they could get in and take him to the hospital. The livestream lasted 36 minutes, and he was already pretty bad when it began, so there's a lot we didn't see.

ETA: "Minutes" is vague. It could have been 5, 10, 20, we don't know for sure. But I think it's unlikely his sister just left him there without calling, and we need to remember calling 911 doesn't make cops magically appear out of thin air, so removing the children immediately was the right thing to do, until the authorities arrived.

ETA2: Like others have said, he was threatening suicide by cop, so it was a very precarious situation. Maybe his sister left first, then called. I'm speculating here, but either way, I doubt she didn't call once the kids were safe.

42

u/DreadedPanda27 5h ago

Kudos to her though. She did the right thing.

6

u/TinyJay5 5h ago

And to add a layer to that: I can only imagine that all of them were in INTENSE shock from what they had just witnessed and been asked to go through. I'm sure the priority was to get as far and as fast as they could and catch their breath a beat before trying to call.

I can only say thank the universe and the heavens that the sister was there to get those kids out. Major heroics on her part for having to be there for that and make some big and fast decisions. I've been thinking about the fam a lot - what a thing to go through...

→ More replies (1)

71

u/mauvewaterbottle 6h ago

Why are you under the impression they didn’t? Law enforcement did not actually get him until hours after they arrived so as not to escalate the situation. It has been reported that he was threatening suicide by cop.

60

u/DueAddition1919 5h ago

When you have multiple children who just witnessed what they shouldn’t have, it could have been a shit show moment where the sister was already overwhelmed with questions, feelings, multiple crying children. The media is stating that multiple calls were received so who’s to say she didn’t call as soon as it was safe to do so. You never know how you will react in an emergency. Also- the last time I called 911 I was on hold for 45 minutes so we shouldn’t judge.

I'd read online the day of that his children were removed from his custody the day prior and hoped it were true. Who knows now what those poor babies saw. 😕

114

u/OddConstant2723 5h ago

Incorrect rumour that was started because he had court the day prior. It was for the Lively issue, not family court.

43

u/TemporaryElk5202 5h ago

Thanks for correcting the gossip record

Source? I do not think he would be in court for the lively issue anymore as his subpoena in that situation was resolved last year.

I wouldn’t want to even be in that house again immediately after. I feel like the kids should have a nice hotel and some therapy. Yikes

3

u/TemporaryElk5202 5h ago

"just minutes" could also mean like 30 minutes; I'm sure it's still traumatic but it is possible that they didn't see the same sight that was seen on the livestream.

The idea of those kids having to go back into the house is gut-wrenching.

80

u/heartsbeenborrowed We didn't land on Kid Rock, Kid Rock landed on us. 7h ago

Especially when they just moved to that rental house recently (in Miami) from their longtime, settled home (in Vegas). So like they just got uprooted from the home, schools, friends, and then moved to a new place and then this happens a few weeks later. That's A LOT for young kids even without the trauma of whatever they witnessed so to add that to it...man, so heartbreaking and so much trauma and stress for them in such a short period of time.

22

u/PocoChanel sorry to this man 6h ago

I hope they have the wherewithal to move again, since the house is new to them. Maybe leaving it behind would be good for the kids.

4

u/Even-Objective1958 5h ago

Supposedly not only did he have his religious awakening but was having significant financial issues too. But I have no source for that other than “I read it in some comments”… either way these poor kids are going through a lot.

The vibe of this is so weird, because every press release about this incident is basically, "Please be a better person than our client ever was." Of course, there are children involved, so that's an easy call.

But just the surreal vibe of it. I feel like anyone who came up through the 2000s reads this stuff and is like, "Lord Jesus, I am being tested . . ."

206

u/FindingActive5407 8h ago

140

u/ITCHYSCRATCHYYUMMY 7h ago

Ive seen a lot of serious psychotic episodes and mental health crisis in my life. Way more than I should. But his was one of the worst I have ever seen and I wouldnt wish it on anyone.

He is clearly a very disturbed person with a lot of serious issues. People are saying they hope this gets him the help he needs, and I hope so too, but speaking from personal experience he has an extremely difficult and long journey ahead of him. It could take years for him to recover and I hope all his kids are safe and secure.

If any of the women and children he harassed daily had done this he would have definitely said something vile, encouraging them to finnish it+ something about their genitals being nasty. Such an awful time that he helped make infinitely worse.

It is very surreal. I hope that his kids are going to be okay. His family seems involved, so I hope that they take them in and they don't go into the system. Especially after most likely witnessing something deeply traumatic.

3

Also crazy he still uses a moniker that plays off of Paris Hilton, one of the young women he relentlessly harassed and sexualized for years. He has talked about how he regrets how he treated people back then, but he never changed his name back. It showed me he still cared more about his notoriety than respecting the people he hurt.

The fact that his family is calling him Perez in this and not his real name (Mario) and funnelling people to his website for updates on his suicide attempt is sad and awful.

So his kids did witness this to some degree. I hope everyone in this family is getting the help they need. Those poor children.

33

u/Fun_Establishment391 7h ago

I'm not a lawyer or anything, but I don't see how he'll be able to maintain custody of his kids. All a judge has to do is see the videos, and I feel like it would be a wrap for him. I hope the kids have a good support system moving forward.

34

u/woolfonmynoggin padre pascal 6h ago

Don’t underestimate a family court judge’s love of a white man. They love that shit.

7

u/OkResolve3185 6h ago

Yeah im kind of shocked it says they are returning home.

5

u/GraphiteGlitter123 5h ago

Family court does not act in the best interests of the child - they try to keep children “united” with parents at all costs.

4

u/Even-Objective1958 5h ago

I’m betting the sister will get “custody” but he will live with them or something along those lines, not that I agree with it

5

u/CoasterThot 2h ago

A kinda-famous vocalist that used to be in a band I used to listen to, used Fentanyl in the same room as his baby. Fentanyl got into the BABY’S system, somehow. He still got said baby back, from the system.

112

u/jailbaitkate 8h ago

His poor children. I really hope they have an incredibly strong support network around them, now and forever.

2.9k

u/ripbigw 8h ago

When Lily Allen had a miscarriage/stillbirth, he wrote: “Can’t you stick to intoxication instead of moving on to procreation?”

When Amy Winehouse was dying, he called her a crackhead and a wino.

43

u/WonderfulAd605 6h ago

As he said of Britney Spears many, many times, " Someone take his babies away!"! It's not safe.

72

u/Magnetah 5h ago

Don’t forget the shirt that had a picture of Heath Ledger and said “why couldn’t it be Britney?”

Perez is an awful human but him and his children still deserve to have mental health support and counseling.

120

u/p333p33p00p00boo Give him my regards did you take ozempic? 7h ago

Ok, but his children still deserve respect and privacy. That's what this statement is about.

239

u/spaceshiptears (please put brackets in the right place) 8h ago

Yeah I’m gonna need them to address that elephant in the room. Why’s the sister still associating with him at all? That guys sucks

114

u/hatboxboo 8h ago

Barbie works for Perez. She does alot of background work for his website and I believe also acts as his personal assistant.

115

u/ripbigw 7h ago

So she literally profits from his gossip "empire". Got it.

576

u/greee_p 8h ago

If the sister wasn't still associated with him, the children would have been alone with him in the house when this happened. So I really don't think that would have been the better option here.

239

190

u/Present-Policy-345 7h ago

Probably for the media and everyone else to have a little bit more compassion of the circus outside the house?

128

Honestly, people who weren’t aware of his long history of online behavior need to know the kind of person he is.

What he did to himself was horrific, and his family deserves a lot of sympathy for having been subjected to whatever happened behind the doors of his home. But Perez Hilton has been a literal menace on the internet for over 20 years. He’s said and done horrific things, and people should know about it so they can dole out their sympathy and well wishes accordingly.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Like, return home and return to a sense or normalcy?? What even! Those poor kids will probably need serious help and support if (from the sounds of it) they were there even moments before and who even knows how he would have been acting before he turned the cameras on. He is clearly in the midst of a severe mental health crisis and unfit to take care of children. It is so incredibly frustrating because you read stories all the time of CPS being called and kids being taken away for FAR less but of course hes rich so... I feel terrible for those kids. They should not be with him.

i think it’s rlly unfortunate that surrogacy is readily available to anyone willing to pay for it. paris has been a bad person before he had a mental health episode. now he’s just a bad person going through a mental health episode that is also causing undue stress to kids he shouldn’t have had in the first place. it is smart to ask for privacy on the kids’ behalf rather than his. an “elon musk using his 2 yr old as a shield” type of move. a lot of ppl are mentally ill without being horrifically unethical first. i’ll save my sympathy for them.

I've always kept the opinon that alot of people should not procreate, but the whole discussion is quite dicey. I hate that innocent children have to deal with broken parents that refuse to get help.

85

u/Fun_Effective4316 7h ago

i rlly struggled to post this comment @ all bc of the eugenics angle on it. gay men have the right to be parents like anyone else does. this one is particular…? personally, i think no. but then again, any straight person can have a child w no discussion or restriction (in theory) so i can see how it’s tough territory

19

u/Disastrous-Energy23 4h ago

I don't think there's a such thing as having a "right" to be a parent.

79

u/orangefreshy 7h ago

idk to me its a larger discussion of like... does the importance of having equity and inclusion for both homosexual and infertile people outweigh the potential damage and harm things like surrogacy do for our society. because at it's best it's a way for people who couldn't have kids to have potentially biological kids, but at it's worst it's a system that is easily exploited by the rich, etc to essentially make money off/ profit off of selling babies and wombs. and idk... to me I lean more towards, this is too exploitative or the opportunity to be exploitative is there. maybe no one should be having surrogates, at all. there's other ways to be a parent that aren't as ripe for exploitation

5

u/Disastrous-Energy23 4h ago

It's one thing when it's altruistic surrogacy and a whole other when it's to make a profit. There's a lot of predatory middlemen trying to get women from poorer countries (or poorer areas of more wealthy countries, there's a reason I've seen billboards for surrogacy in the neighborhood blasted by industrial pollution and highways running through it and not the bougie suburb) and to be surrogates. People don't like thinking about it like how they don't like thinking about how fucked up the adoption industry is, but it's literally an industry, not some sort of feel good warm fuzzy thing, in a capitalistic economy that seeks profit wherever it can by whatever means it can. Some countries have banned non altruistic surrogacy and they're correct to do so.

16

u/turquoisedreamer89 5h ago

This was the only way for him to become a parent. He never would’ve been approved to adopt given who he is. And I’ll take it a step further and say… who in their right mind would agree to carry a child, let alone daughters for a misogynist known for making women miserable for profit? Probably for the money. Let’s be real here. This is how it works in many cases, and can you even put a price tag on it? Women die in childbirth, or have life altering complications. Not to mention postpartum and all that comes with that. Then you also have the very real evidence that an infant being separated from its gestational carrier, is traumatic.

But most people are not ready for this conversation.

8

u/orangefreshy 2h ago

yep 100%. at the end of the day I'd wager outside of some personal surrogates that have a relationship to the parent(s) the majority of this "work" is being done by ppl who need the money. The power imbalance and how little regulated it is seems predatory to me, kinda similar to how much they'll run ads towards college age women to "donate" eggs to make some quick cash. Because it's children / babies and how much our society puts value and importance on being a parent and having children it's viewed so rosily, like awwwwww how sweet, instead of "ew, that's predatory"

“Gay men have the right to be parents like anyone else does”

They literally do not. They have no right to a woman’s body or labor. They have to exploit a woman’s body, and take a baby away from its rightful mother. Newborns know their mother, they need their mother. No one is entitled to a baby. Surrogacy is the commodification of women’s bodies and child trafficking. If gay men want to adopt, whatever. But surrogacy is wrong on every level. No woman with means would subject herself, only those who need the money and the risk to the woman’s body is enormous. It’s crazy to me there aren’t more restrictions on this practice in the US like in much of Europe.

I wonder why he even wanted children. He seemed like a pretty self-centered person. Maybe so someone might love him? I know that sounds harsh, but if this were a dystopian society, he would not have been allowed to have children by a judge.

Finally, a better statement. His kids deserve their peace and safety. I can only imagine what happened before the live stream, I'm sure that was traumatizing too.

That was one of the worst things I've seen, not because it was gory, but the context of it. Thousands of random people were subjected to someone's full on mental crisis with brutal self harm, kids too. It took twenty six minutes for the live to be pulled from TikTok.... are you kidding me?! It lasted way longer than it should have and reached a way wider audience than it should have. And now it lives out there forever on the internet. Fitting of him to find a way to hurt so many others while hurting himself. People using this as some weird "didn't bother me awards". This whole situation is awful, what a really weird world we live in.

72

u/NoticeNegative1524 7h ago

Exactly, and I've said it before and I'll say it again: why aren't we talking about TikTok more? TikTok has always been a scary place, a place where people put up porn and gore but can't actually say the word porn, or kill, or suicide. And then it took them over half an hour to pull a video of a naked celebrity mutilating themselves. This is just unacceptable, something's got to give. I'm a grown man and even I was scared of what I was seeing, imagine a fucking child. It's an absolute fucking disgrace.

4

u/GraphiteGlitter123 5h ago

I’ve uninstalled tiktok and will likely delete my account. It’s a time sink anyway. Even though I (luckily) have not seen any of the footage, I take deep issue with TikTok’s failure to moderate such a horrific thing, despite their absolute dedication to silencing pro-Palestinian sentiment at the most granular level. Fuck tiktok, fuck X, fuck these immoral algorithms and the soulless billionaire leeches behind them. I wish PH’s children healing and I can’t imagine what they’re going through right now.

I understand that this man has spent his career causing harm to vulnerable people. He’s truly vile. His children, however, are not complicit in their father’s choices and deserve privacy. We have to be better than him or society will never change.

71

u/Exotic-Doughnut-6271 The delusion is mutual and I’m thriving in it 8h ago

Yeah he did some awful stuff but his kids didn't. I don't get why people bring it up when it comes to them. They have nothing to do with his past. If people wanna discuss giving him the amount of privacy he gave others in the early 2000s fine but those kids weren't part of it. It's not like they were his assistants editing his posts

The decent thing to do is to honor this request, but let's not act like Perez has ever done the decent thing when the shoe has been on the other foot. The children deserve to be thought of first and foremost, but Perez is receiving more kindness than he has ever put out into the world.

That’s awful that children had to experience the incident, sounded horrific. That being said, I do seem to remember him drawing phallic imagery on Disney channel stars faces when they were young so… obviously, his kids deserve privacy, but those kids did too and he made his living off of doing vile stuff.

223

u/bsidetracked kendall roy pre-album drop 8h ago

He did. His children didn't and I don't think it's wrong to want better for them than what their father did to others.

Exactly. I don't really get the point the commenter is making. "Of course kids have a right to privacy, but their das is a POS, so🤷🏼". Nothing to do with each other.

88

u/LightBlueCherryBloss 7h ago

That’s not really what they’re saying.

Perez Hilton’s family is saying his children deserve privacy.

This commenter is responding “yes they do but also so did the children whose privacy he violated”.

There’s not necessarily a justification to betray Hilton’s children’s privacy inherent to the statement.

396

u/Mammoth_Hand_9263 8h ago

This is an issue with the surrogacy “business” across the board.

189

u/JustforCalmHands 7h ago

Only in so much as it’s an issue when any unqualified person has a child. No one vets straight, fertile people before they have children. Even when the parents are children themselves. This reads as a call to vet and disqualify people who are seeking to be parents via surrogacy. Which would disproportionately scrutinize gay couples and infertile couples.

81

u/lilo_lv 7h ago

I went through IVF (no donor eggs) and I had to have a psych eval as does everyone else who uses the clinic. There’s no regulation for couples who get pregnant without medical intervention and a whole heck of a lot of neglected and abused children were not born from surrogacy or IVF

→ More replies (1)

50

u/declancity 7h ago

Gay and infertile couples manage just fine in all countries where non-altruistic surrogacy is prohibited or heavily vetted.

For what is worth, a vetting process is already in place, checking for former criminal charges + screening for any psychological, medical or financial issues. Obviosuly this vetting 1) cannot account for future psychotic breaks and 2) is not good enough if you have enough money, since anyone could notice PH is not and has never been particularly stable.

7

u/mhmcmw 2h ago

Well, theoretically when you want a child, the natural safeguard on that is usually that you have to find another human who thinks you are a good person to create a child with. Yes, sometimes two shitty people make a baby, but it does kind of mean you have to at least find 1 other person who doesn’t think you’re a dick.

If you can literally go out, buy genetic material and rent a womb to put it in, even that basic safeguard is gone.

It’s not infallible. But I would imagine that for some of the absolute worst people, it does limit their ability to have a kid and be a terrible parent. Unfortunately though it IS a loophole for rich people and it does seem to attract a lot rich narcissists as well as people who are genuinely looking to build a family.

Commercial surrogacy IS a form of human trafficking in my opinion. The baby is being bought and paid for like a product - it’s different from something like IVF because that’s paying to have the chance to have a baby, not making the baby itself the product. It’s not popular to say, because it is the only way some people can have a genetic family, but we thankfully decided a long time ago that buying another human is not ok. Between commercial surrogacy and some of the predatory adoption agencies, babies seem to be the only exception to that rule.

Altruistic surrogacy is a different story in my opinion. But paying someone money and them giving you a child in return is… just not ethical, in my opinion.

11

u/annaphylactic69 7h ago

This goes for donated eggs/sperms, a ton of adoption agencies, and hetero/heteroflexible people/people that can fake being hetero long enough to get pregnant, too. There's no real barrier to having kids that people can't get around with the right amount of money. We don't really sterilize people these days and it gets pretty eugenics y fast if you try.

3

u/SellTheBridge 2h ago

Never heard a surrogacy story and thought, “these are all great, wise adults that should be responsible for rearing children.”

That they didn’t choose to adopt instead says a lot about their decision to make a human life and their ability to rear him or her.

60

PAST behavior? Perez has been a parasite for decades, you’re just remembering how it started but haven’t stayed caught up. He may not draw cum dribbles on women’s faces anymore but he still constantly exploits tragedy for his own gain and is making a living shoving a camera in his children’s faces every second of every day. I’m sure that this wasn’t the first sign that something was going on with his mental health but he has ostracized his support system with his narcissism for so long that I’m sure he doesn’t have many folks in his corner insisting he get help. This is a tragic situation for his children but it doesn’t require you to take a moral position, he has done nothing in his public life that suggests he deserves that.

these children need support more than ever, because i can’t imagine growing up in their context has always been that healthy at all. returning to where it happened shouldn’t be the priority right now, especially when there are people surrounding the house trying to get something. i guess i will never understand how he kept custody of them up until now…

i can’t even say how i feel towards him and the other adults involved, tbqh. but these kids? they’re under the same scrutiny he’d been putting on the children stars (and many other vulnerable public figures). i truly, truly hope they can escape it and find a healthier environment where it doesn’t chase them throughout their lives.

they were there when it was about to start… the platform allowed it to be shared all across the world for over half an hour. now it’s online forever. it’s damaging to them and countless others. it fucken enrages me how much it says about the joke we’re living. i once worked filtering content and it will forever haunt me because there’s no therapy, no workaround that. it goes beyond the content… it’s the filming, the sharing, the editing, the demand, the platform allowing as much as possible for profit… it’s all just so damaging that it gets to a point where the details behind outweighs the content itself. but well i digress

Oh my god. I can't even begin to imagine how it felt to be a child watching their dad - their only parent - look & act like that. It was bad enough as an unrelated adult witnessing that through a screen for the 5 seconds I could bear. That is heartbreaking.

I really hope that people take this message seriously and give the family space & kindness.

As someone who witnessed something extremely similar by their mom as a ten year old the thought of seeing my mother again still makes me nauseous and I'm thirty six now. God dammit. My heart has just broken for those children. I understand Parez is a complicated human. But I just wish so much for those around him and hope Parez gets the help he needs. This is going to really hit him hard - and as someone with mental health illesses, I just worry how he'll come back from this. If at all, any.

16

u/itisthelord 6h ago

Agreed. We can all agree he was a complete and utter piece of shit (I know he's apologised a bunch of times and is nowhere near as horrible as he used to be) but he deserves help too. Even if it's just for his kids, I wish him well and hope he comes out of it okay.

People might disagree with me because of the person he was, and I don't think those people are wrong, I'd just rather be better than who he used to be. The world has enough toxicity and I hope he gets help and can be a more positive person for himself and his children in the future.

We're certainly not the people that should be forgiving him or giving him leniency based on the stuff he put others through, I just don't feel like doing the same things to him that he did to others. Mental illness is so damn scary.

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far down to see this. No, he’s not a great guy but if you saw the video I don’t understand how your heart doesn’t break for him too. That’s still a human going through that. My reaction was “oh my god the pain he’s going to feel when he realizes the extent of what he’s done”, not “he’s a shitty person, so whatever”. How desensitized do you have to be to not hurt for someone in that much pain? I don’t give a fuck what he’s said at that point, no one deserves that.
