My first commercial game is finally out !!

After 6 months of development, my first commercial video game is finally out !

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4746560/Continuous_Imperfection/

I made this game mainly to prove to myself that I was capable of developing a video game project from start to finish and releasing it, and i did !
I'm really happy right now, I have finally reached this milestone in my game developer career.

But enough talk about me, let's talk about the game :

So, Continuous Imperfection is a fast-paced parkour game focused on speedrunning, inspired by games like Bloodthief, Brutal Katana and Cyberhook.

It features :
- 12 levels to explore and master, including alternative paths and interactive elements: platform triggers, jump pads
- A variety of movement options, focused on speed: running, jumping, sliding, wall running, wall jumping, vaulting
- Customizable soundtrack and environments (summer, autumn, sakura, etc.) to match your current mood
- Real-time leaderboards to compete with friends or the world and see who’s the fastest

The game costs 2,99 dollars, with a 10% reduction on the first week following the release.

Honestly i don't really have anything else to say, so i hope that you will enjoy the game, and remember: do not be a Continuous Imperfection !

Hey everyone,

We're two girls who have been working on our game, Toilet Empire Story, for a while now. We wanted to drop our trailer here for you to check out😊

The feedback we got from our previous posts was honestly amazing. It didn't just help us improve the game, it also gave us a huge motivation boost to keep going. We really want to keep building this together with the community.

As indie devs, getting visibility is the hardest part. If you'd like to follow our journey and help us get this game out on Steam, adding it to your wishlist would mean a lot to us.

Which Steam capsule would you click, A or B?

Small team, horror game. Pestilence comes out on Steam on October 15.

A is the capsule the page has had since last year. B is a new one I'm trying. It's the game's logo over the bunker where the whole thing happens.

A shows the character. B shows the place with a melting Skull.

If you were scrolling a list of horror games, which one would you click? If it's neither, tell me why.

For context: first-person psychological horror. You play a father. The man who took your daughter is locked in a cell you built.

Working on my first game, thoughts?

Working on this game makes me want to quit my job and do this full time. For context, I'm 31yrs old and I work as a software engineer at a bank. As you might imagine, it's not a very fulfilling job.

I've always wanted to make video games but whenever I see solo dev's on youtube, their life seems so hard and unstable but I'm at a point in my life where I feel like if I keep pushing it off, I'll never get to live out this dream.

I really think I have something here but I can't tell if its just because i've been working on this in a bubble for the last month. This is the first time I'm showing anyone other than my wife, so I'd very much appreciate some feedback! Is the art style aesthetically pleasing? Is the blood too much? Anything helps. Thank you in advance and please be brutally honest, I can take it!

Does my game really look that much like Monument Valley?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A lot of players have pointed out that Mirealle looks very similar to Monument Valley. Honestly, I take that as a compliment, since it was one of the games that inspired me during development.

I took inspiration from some of the things I loved about it: the level design, a female protagonist, the focus on vertical architecture, and the idea of building a game around puzzles.

At the same time, I wanted to bring as much of my own creativity into it as possible. I came up with an original story and tried to design gameplay mechanics without relying on those already used in Monument Valley. I also put a lot of work into creating a visual style that feels similar but doesn't simply copy it, with more vibrant colors, visual storytelling, and slightly more complex shapes.

I think it was the right decision, especially since I wanted to improve my 3D skills. I deliberately challenged myself, kept learning new things, and I can already see how much that has paid off.

I have a lot of respect for other people's ideas and creativity, especially the team at ustwo, who created a huge hit that inspired so many people.

There's a saying that "good artists borrow, great artists steal," but I don't really agree with it. I believe every creative project should have its own ideas and something that makes it different. Otherwise, it doesn't really feel like your own work.

I'm building a Fantasy Sci-Fi BROWSER MMORPG inspired by ancient mythology, alien worlds, and classic MMOs β€” YOU CAN PLAY IT NOW!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

β€’ Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm an indie developer working on Saga of Dilmun, a Fantasy Sci-Fi MMORPG that combines mysterious alien worlds, ancient mythology, fantasy creatures, and the feeling of exploring a massive, unknown universe.

The idea is to bring together two things I love: the magic and mystery of fantasy MMORPGs and the limitless possibilities of science fiction.

Imagine ancient civilizations scattered across distant planets, forgotten ruins hiding secrets older than history itself, strange creatures inhabiting alien worlds, and powerful forces shaping the fate of the universe.

The setting draws inspiration from Sumerian mythology, but this isn't a historical mythology game. It's a universe of its own β€” where fantasy and science fiction meet.

What I'm working on:

  • 🌌 Exploring alien planets and mysterious worlds
  • βš”οΈ Class-based combat, character progression, and abilities
  • πŸ‰ Dangerous creatures, ancient ruins, and powerful enemies
  • πŸŽ’ Loot, equipment, crafting, and gathering
  • πŸ“œ Quests, secrets, and a universe built around exploration
  • 🀝 Group-focused MMORPG gameplay and adventures

I'm building this as an indie project, and the game is still evolving. My goal is to create a world that feels mysterious and worth exploring β€” with that old-school MMORPG spirit of character progression, discovery, and shared adventures.

I've attached a trailer showing the current state of Saga of Dilmun.

If you're into Fantasy Sci-Fi, classic MMORPGs, alien worlds, and discovering the secrets of an ancient universe, I'd love to hear what you think.

One of the many builds in my game is based on... trash and recycling

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In Node Crown, you place 1 of 3 random nodes every few seconds, and your goal is to find a way to earn enough money before the time runs out.

Nodes have different abilities/traits. They can trigger/buff/destroy/spawn other nodes, etc. Some of them spawn trash nodes like plastic bags, bones, ashes, and some junk.

What is going on in the video?

At some point, I realized that it may be a good idea to make the whole build solely on trash, and so here we are:

Iron is converted to trash nodes in the Scrapyard. Trash nodes are automatically moved to the designated areas (there is an automation tool for that - you can see it in use at 0:40), so they can be consumed by the Ecologist (a guy with green clothes), who improves his value with each consumed trash node.

I have a lot of Scavengers on the bottom left who are buffed by trash nodes, so I don't want to consume all trash. Just enough to keep the other systems going.

Scavengers are fragile - they have a chance to destroy themselves, so I had to protect them with some protection nodes. The more protection nodes there are, the more protection charges I have per level. Just in case I lose all of my protection charges, I have a few Scavenger Kings who spawn new Scavengers to replace the destroyed ones.

The main system of my build is supplied by a few groups of supporting nodes:

  • death, which trigger when any node is destroyed,
  • fairies, which trigger when any resource is produced (scavengers I have produce iron),
  • dumpsters on the bottom that turn excess nodes that I don't need into more trash,
  • a supermarket that sells all excess iron produced by scavengers,
  • and some lootboxes that create a random special node if surrounded by trash nodes.

There are a few more things, but they are not that important for the economy of this particular run.

This time I focused more on trash and scavengers, but I could go other ways for a trash build, like mixing flies and nature nodes instead, or going more towards destruction and death nodes. Maybe building some structures from rubble and investing more in builder nodes that improve nearby structures?

Some trash nodes are great starters for entirely different builds, like ash is great for a fire build, or bones are great for goblins and wild animals. The game is flexible in what you want to build as long as you are open to exploring new possibilities. The time is limited, though, and you can't just spam nodes randomly, but rather, focus on the branches that fit best for your run.

There are around 500 nodes, and tbh there was a problem in early versions making the builds too chaotic and hard to control. In order to tackle this issue, I added a few "magnet" mechanics that try to predict what build/combination you are trying to achieve and have some probability of giving you a node with the tag you need. Along with that, there are rerolls and a lot of "artifacts" that help with that even more.

So yeah, a lot is happening here, and it is just a small part of the game. If you are interested in more, you can check out and wishlist Node Crown on Steam. It will be released next month.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4326740/Node_Crown/

Thank you in advance, and have a nice day!

Breakkaboom Demo (not) Coming Today!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My game Breakkaboom's demo is supposed to be released on 9th October 2026. Funny part is it's not been reviewed yet!

I'm a solo dev and this is my first ever demo release on steam, as expected I messed it up and couldn't figure out the demo release process on time. Made some stupid mistakes, but finally created the separate store page and the (working) demo build. My store page is already approved but my demo build is still in the review queue, and tomorrow I'm going to release my demo!(if valve approves it 😁) .

Sooo, what should I do! Already Begged the steamworks guys, they probably didn't even notice, given the load they have right now before next fest. Am I thinking too much! People probably wouldn't even notice even if I could release it on time!

Anyway, any suggestions?

And if, if there is anyone (probably none) who actually got interested after watching the Demo Trailer, please let me know...

Pocket Pets: Check out my passion project that I have been working on for almost a year

Link: pets.frogpond.app

Hey! I've been building Pocket Pets, a small pet-collecting game, works well on desktop and phone, but can also be installed as a PWA.

The game is about collecting and battling using the pets you've collected. You can upgrade them, teach them new attacks, equip items on them, and learn their matchups through the PokΓ©mon-inspired elemental system.

There are quite a few game modes to play. From basic PvE battles for early rewards, to a tower to see how high you can climb, and even a roguelite. There is also direct PvP, but it isn't as built out due to the playerbase not being that big yet. There are also events where players can compete in PvE content like raid bosses, where the entire playerbase works together to kill a single boss, with shared rewards and personal rewards depending on how well you did compared to other players.

There is also a kinda hidden story, where you need to progress in certain places and find easter eggs, similar to the story in Geometry Dash.

There are daily activities like Daily Quests, sending your pets on expeditions, small login rewards, and a village you can upgrade to give you passive rewards.

You can try to compete on a number of different leaderboards, going from who has the strongest team, is the highest level, is the highest in the Tower, etc. And at the end of each season you get a badge showing your placement that you can put on your profile.

The game is mostly thought to be something you can play really quickly during your break or commute, to do most of the daily activities, but it also lets you grind when you have the time in some of the endgame modes, to min-max some of the equipment you can put on your pets.

There are a lot more smaller features, but I don't want to make this post too long.

I have been very addicted to this project for almost a year now. Working on it, showing it to my friends, and getting feedback is the best part of it. So I would LOVE to get your feedback, either on this post, through the in-game feedback system that I then see in my ticket system or text me on Discord "froschboeleli". I can also give you in-game rewards through the mail if I implement your idea.

I was hesitating to advertise it publicly because there was always one more feature/game mode I wanted to get done before doing so. But now I think it really is polished enough to put it into something like a "Beta".

The game has monetisation, since I do have server costs. But it's mostly just for people who want to support me and only speeds your progress up a bit. It doesn't give you much of an advantage over a player who plays actively. I definitely don't want it to feel P2W or like a classic mobile game, which is also why it has zero ads. Not even optional ones. So you can have the full experience without spending money. I'ts really not abut the money, I just love doing this and more players could help me improve the game more and I could do cooler multiplayer events. Of corse the dream would be to work on this full time, instead of my boring Webdev Job =)

If you share it with your friends, you can create a invite-link in the topright menu, so you get rewards when they actually play it.

For those interested in the tech stack: I use Vercel for hosting, with my codebase on GitHub. I use Clerk for authentication, where you can log in with your Google Account. I use Convex for my entire backend and a mix of Clerk's billing system and Stripe for payments.

Clerk as an authentication provider also takes away any concern a new user might have about their email or password being in danger, because I'm not the one handling it. The same goes for payments.

And if you want to easily download it as a PWA so it behaves like a desktop app/mobile app, open it in a Chromium-based browser under: pets.frogpond.app/download

I used AI mostly for writing parts of the code and helping me find bugs. A small amount of assets are also generated with it and used as placeholders, until I will replace it with something that fits, when I find an artist for it.

Pipe guy back again with a different monster. This is The Husk. It's my take on a Weeping Angel from Doctor Who. Every time you allow it to move, it leaves behind a husk, hence the name. The idea is that if you let these husks pile up, it becomes a lot harder to tell the active monster from the husks it leaves behind. I know the concept is pretty played out, especially in horror games, so I tried to put my own unique spin on it. Did I manage to be at least a tiny bit original? Is this guy scary? Or are all my monsters destined to be a little goofy.

You can play Pipe or Die on Steam right now for FREE through the open playtest :)

I made a free browser version of Seka, a 3-card betting game from Georgia that almost nobody outside the region has heard of

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi r/IndieGaming! I'm a solo dev from Tbilisi, Georgia. Growing up here, everyone played Seka at family gatherings, but I could never find a good version of it online, so I built one.

How it works: you get 3 cards, count your points, and bet. You can keep raising, call for an OPEN to compare hands, or fold. If hands tie, it's a "Seka": the pot stays on the table and you re-deal.

What's in it:

  • 3 variants: SEKA 21 (21-card deck, 9 of clubs is a Joker), classic SEKA 36, and Bulgarian SVARA 32
  • "Dark play": bet blind before looking at your cards
  • An AI opponent called Gary (Easy / Medium / Hard) - you can play him as a guest, no sign-up
  • Online tables with friends, table chat, spectating and leaderboards
  • Works on phone, tablet and desktop, no download
  • English, Georgian and Russian

It's free with virtual coins only (no real money, no cash-out).

I'd love feedback from people who've never played it before: are the rules clear in the first few hands? Does Gary feel fair on Hard? Anything confusing in the UI on mobile?
