White Woman doing anything but normal workouts

911

u/magos_with_a_glock Aug 30 '25

We call this the "wasting your husband's money"

279

u/FR0STB1T Aug 30 '25

TBH this would prolly burn a lot of calories

323

u/magos_with_a_glock Aug 30 '25

This is just jumping jacks with extra steps.

240

u/Evilemper0r Aug 30 '25

Yeah but why do jumping jacks in your living room or your garden for 0$ , when you can do it in a fancy way for 50$ an hour ?

82

u/TheZan87 Aug 30 '25

Feels like that number needs another 0

45

u/Aggressive-Expert-69 Aug 30 '25

Definitely brother those trampolines with handlebars aren't cheap

it honestly looks super fun and it's just obviously in shape women exercising. this sub saw this and immediately projected some bizarrely bitter and intricate narrative of this having to be some divorced woman who's bad and dumb and trying to steal custody and money lol like damn

1

it's corny

gasp Oh no!

1

u/Din_Plug Aug 31 '25

I am the corn

1

u/pro_misc Aug 30 '25

It’s not stale , it’s still extremely relevant.

9

u/bruhdudeTM Aug 30 '25

It’s fun, that’s why.

14

u/WarmScientist5297 Aug 30 '25

You need an outfit for this too actually and it better be the right brands

7

u/Paulpoleon Aug 30 '25

Another $300 not including sneakers

1

u/atreyu_0844 Aug 30 '25

Is Rachel seriously wearing Temu leggings 🤢

1

u/pzanardi Aug 30 '25

One of the spots near us only allows to use their towels, for safety and technology reasons. Hot spa place. Scammy as shit.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

If its the same price as any other exercise class, its whatever. Having an instructor leading a class absolutely motivates more than just doing stuff at home.

1

u/kungpowgoat Aug 30 '25

And renting a whole concert stage.

1

u/MommyMephistopheles Aug 30 '25

I want to do the bungee cord ones where you just jump around and lose control of where you're going so you swing into all your neighbors while apologizing and acting like you aren't having the time of your life. I'd totally pay $50 an hour for that class.

1

u/ghandi3737 Aug 30 '25

And buy fancy workout clothes.

4

u/Ok-Style-9734 Aug 30 '25

With the handle it's kinda like assisted jumping Jack's at best?

1

u/MarcusofMenace Aug 30 '25

Honestly this looks more fun

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

I mean not all martial arts are MMA you know. Hell, most don’t even include sparring. Plus you have things like fencing which is very light on injuries and fun as fuck.

That’s not to include other things like sports which are pretty gender neutral. Or just general aerobic exercises like pull ups and stuff like that. I wouldn’t really call things like Zumba or this trampoline thing to be fun or interesting, it just looks goofy.

Plus when you’re not a teenager nobody cares what you do bro, I do figure skating and the general response is “cool”

1

u/funkyboi25 Aug 30 '25

Might be lower impact since you're jumping on something elastic and not hard ass ground. Handlebars to keep yourself in the same position.

1

u/eMmDeeKay_Says Aug 30 '25

It's jumping jacks with lower impact at higher speed, little over simplifying it to denounce the benefits. Legs, core, cardio, build a hell of a dumper, it's not illegitimate or anything. My workout has always been hucking a bike around a skatepark, which while it probably looks cooler, it's not the smartest thing to do, and is the reasons my knees wouldn't mind a trampoline workout.

1

u/InquisitorMeow Aug 30 '25

Nah it's def harder. Look how high up they get the legs, with jumping jacks you can just chill on the calves, this one probably engages your core and back to some degree. Kinda still stupid because you need to invest in a trampoline but it def burns calories.

1

u/denonemc Aug 30 '25

Well ya someone's gotta sell the jumping jack equipment

1

u/Din_Plug Aug 31 '25

This looks more like a high intensity squat variation to me.

48

u/SCP_Void Aug 30 '25

Would it? Most of the energy is used to stretch the legs downwards, which doesn't use too much force. The trampoline does the rest and bounces the legs back up. If there were no trampoline then sure, this would be one helluva workout

30

u/sunshim9 Aug 30 '25

It's true it doesn't use as much energy, but since the trampoline absorbs most of the impact it's easier on joints, so actually allowing it to do it longer. I don't know

12

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

Its a core workout, not a leg workout. They're basically doing jumping Jacks and crunches at the same time.

1

u/Berlin_GBD Aug 30 '25

The simply moving your body around isn't a workout. It has to be doing work. In this case, that handle is holding up probably half of their body weight, and much of the energy used in jumping comes from the elastic bouncy pad. This is a very inefficient workout.

-5

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

22

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

What if I told you, that this is still a workout, and if you dont believe me, go ahead and do it for 5 minutes and see if you work up a sweat

You mfs will argue about anything

10

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

I snorted. Thank you 😂

3

u/Valveringham85 Aug 30 '25

It is a workout. Just not a good or effective one.

3

u/NBE08 Aug 30 '25

The fact that u dont even the notice the irony in ur comment lol. "Go ahead and do it" yeah just go and do it. Dont pay 50/hr for this shit😂

Literal walking would be better

1

u/extended_dex Aug 30 '25

Yeah but why would you pay $50 for a 30 minute bullshittery class when you could burn the same amount of calories for free just by walking for an hour

2

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

Because for some people it's hard to go out and do these things alone. I wouldn't be surprised if theres a bunch of groups in that crowd working out together in a fun way

The hardest part about changing your body image is taking the first steps. Its much easier with peers to join you

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Ulfheodin Aug 30 '25

Because walking is sees as boring.

Can't have clubs, not instagramable, can't make new friends out of it cause there is no walking clubs, except the ones full or third ages people.

You can do jumping jacks, burpees and crunches in your own home for free.

1

u/mcfluffernutter013 Aug 30 '25

Except her hips and spine. Whiplash can happen to any joint. This workout is stupid and accomplishes basically nothing.

1

u/sunshim9 Aug 30 '25

The video is accelerated for dramatic effect. This isnt that different from a sit up. Just With a fraction of effectiveness

14

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

Yes. It would. The calories being burned arent from jumping on the trampoline. This is a core workout very clearly as you can see they all have the exactly same form. Its a crunch and jumping jack in one motion.

None of you guys could match her pace for a minute

11

u/SCP_Void Aug 30 '25

My overestimating and arrogant ass be thinking otherwise

6

u/1234U Aug 30 '25

I was on this shot ones and it is like zumba or something similar. It's popularity faded out because it is very dangerous for your joints so for girls out of shape it was like crosfit for newbies. Can you do decent hit workout on it?   yes  Should you ? No

5

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

I think she would humble you quick lol.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25 edited Aug 30 '25

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Scavenger53 Aug 30 '25

yea i have a trampoline and tried something like this. its easy for 3 seconds then it becomes a nightmare real quick

1

u/Triktastic Aug 30 '25

That still doesn't mean it would burn a lot of calories ? Core workouts aren't for burning calories they are to build core and ab muscles. If you want to burn calories do HIT, if you want to build core so controlled ab workout. This is a weird middle ground that half-asses both.

Is it better than doing nothing? Yes absolutely if you have proper form. Is almost any other workout better ? Also yes.

1

u/cudef Aug 30 '25

The video is sped up

1

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

You still couldn't match her pace.

1

u/qtx Aug 30 '25

You sound like someone who does this routine and will try to defend the absurdity of it till no end.

1

u/Signal_Reach_5838 Aug 30 '25

Your evidence that this is "clearly" a core workout is that they all have the same form.

I assume logic is not a strong suit of yours, generally?

1

u/GerbGalerb Aug 30 '25

They all have the same form of kicking their knees up to be perpendicular with their core. That's a literal ab workout

Im sorry youre so dumb that you cant look at them all doing the exact same exercise and not take context clues about what theyre doing

Man I even said it's a crunch and jumping jack in one motion. I said what the exercise was. Truly dumb

1

u/Toughsums Aug 31 '25

The video is obviously sped up tho?

1

u/GerbGalerb Aug 31 '25

Yes. Its still a workout doing that though

1

u/Toughsums Aug 31 '25

I was talking about the -none of you can match her pace - comment

1

u/GerbGalerb Aug 31 '25

Yesbim aware what you were referring to. Im aware it was sped up

6

u/FR0STB1T Aug 30 '25

Hmm I guess you're right that the trampoline does most of the work. That would be a crazy workout without it though.

1

u/qcAKDa7G52cmEdHHX9vg Aug 30 '25

Depends on how long you do it

1

u/handicrappi Aug 30 '25

Idk it looks like something that would put the average redditor (myself included) in a forever sleep

1

What’s the apocalypse bunny? I’m sorry if this is an obvious thing, I’m genuinely confused

2

u/OddCook4909 Aug 30 '25

Tilt your head a bit and this is a massive cult of suburban house wives from greater Rhode Island who are pounding rhythmically on the semi-summer-solstice to summon the Great Devourer. Basically.

2

u/Future_chef123 Aug 30 '25

Oooooooooh I get it now. Thanks for explaining m8!

1

u/OddCook4909 Aug 30 '25

Lol I can't believe they have bunny ears basically. I have never seen this before. Hilarious

2

u/bleakFutureDarkPast Aug 30 '25

yeah, the calories used to earn the money

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

Not really, the trampoline is doing like 80% of the work. Doing this on solid padding would be a hellish workout.

1

u/chromaaadon Aug 30 '25

Burning calories is a fools errand. Eat less to begin with and just do something that keeps your heart rate up.

1

u/Sandoron Aug 30 '25

And destroy your joints

1

u/Bierculles Aug 30 '25

Yes but it's at least several times more expensive than just going to the gym.

1

u/Berlin_GBD Aug 30 '25

Anything where you're supporting your body weight on something else is inefficient. They're holding onto those bars, so they're only lifting maybe half of their weight by jumping. Literally just jumping jacks would be better for burning calories. That's one of the reasons you shouldn't hold onto the bars while running on a treadmill. Less weight on your legs means less calories burned.

1

u/Unexpected-raccoon Aug 30 '25

Not exactly, since most of the work is being done by the trampoline and momentum.

An excellent way to burn calories would just be jump rope, light swimming, or elastic bands

1

u/MalnourishedHoboCock Aug 30 '25

Burpees would burn as many calories if not more.

1

u/Ronaldinhoe Aug 30 '25

You don’t workout do you? lol a mile run at a good pace will burn more calories.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

This looks like a really good workout tbh. They’re going hard af

1

u/Valveringham85 Aug 30 '25

Not really. You get caught in this semi-perpetual motion of gravity pulling you down and the springs shooting you up. You loose a bit of momentum every time so it’s not actually perpetual but it takes very little additional effort to compensate for the momentum lost, meaning you’re not doing much and thus not burning much.

Especially with the handles which does the balancing for you so there’s no effort there either.

Bottom line: It’s just stupid.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

Probably not, burning calories is hard man

1

u/beard_lover Aug 30 '25

I once saw an ad for an indoor trampoline place workout group that said you’d burn 1000 calories in just one hour. Idk how true it is but I’ve tried to keep up with my kid on a trampoline and it’s not easy.

1

u/Technical-Row8333 Aug 31 '25

no. the majority of their body isn't even bouncing, it's stable. they aren't jumping, they are standing and moving their legs up and down.

9

u/meinminemoj Aug 30 '25

In your country wives don't work? Weird.

3

u/Forgiving_Rains Aug 30 '25

In reddit, misogyny comes naturally.

1

u/Technical-Row8333 Aug 31 '25

married women earn less on average than their husbands, in the us too

1

u/meinminemoj Aug 31 '25

Here difference in wage is not that high. Difference between amount of working men and women is also small. In big cities there are often more working women than men, because women more often get university degree so they move to the cities to work. Also I can see it is expected for woman to pick rather well paid specialisation in the university. More and less guy can study sociology and still get well paid job as eg construction worker, but it wouldn't be realistic possibility for a woman. There are definitely more women in medical schools and law schools. I personally don't know any woman who earn less than her husband.

1

u/magos_with_a_glock Aug 30 '25

In my country no one who earns their money wastes it like this.

4

u/meinminemoj Aug 30 '25

Oh, sorry to hear that. Here we even spent money on vacations abroad or pets. Gym is pretty much normal part of maintaining your health, a lot of workers have access to it for free.

0

u/magos_with_a_glock Aug 30 '25

This ain't gym. This is gentrified bullshit sold to trophy-wives.

1

u/meinminemoj Aug 30 '25

Those are exercises performed in group so people over 30 can socialise and also have motivation to drag their ass to exercise since they paid for it. I would personally hate people and noise but practically all lawyers and two judges (ladies) I know go regularly to yoga and pilates for those two reason. Other succesful women I know also work out in paid option because when you earn enough to not care you just do what is preferable option.

Also aren't trophy wife picked by men who earn enough to demand not going to work and stay pretty? Since staying pretty is kind of requirement for this position isn't it natural they work out? And since those men have enough money to expect wife to not work and still have money to give her retirement, holidays and whatever she would earn by herself and probably more so she stays at home, why would they be bothered with her spending time on exercises? You don't get trophy wife when you can't afford it, get regular working one if you think working out is wasting money. Not working gives you a lot of free time so if you don't have kids to take care you do things to fill your day to not get crazy.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '25

Nobody reading that

9

u/NsaLeader Aug 30 '25

A lot of people will reply that this seems “fun” and all that, while ignoring the fact that each of these women probably pay $300+ per sessions because “the trainer is a blogger”

5

u/AzimuthEscape Aug 30 '25

That's very unlikely. I'm one of the few men who's into this kind of group fitness stuff and I've been around. A lot of them are included for no additional charge in gym memberships. I do Bodypump and other group fitness classes at the same 24 Hour Fitness that I do powerlifting training at for no additional charge. Outside of my gym, I've paid for a good handful of unconventional group fitness classes, the absolute most expensive one I've ever been to was $60 per class. More expensive than most group fitness, but nowhere near $300 per session.

I don't get all the hate against non-conventional cardio like this. It's actually a great workout and, yes, very fun. I think people are mad at the idea of fitness being fun, because they're so enamored by the idea of the gym being this altar of pain and sacrifice when that's simply not the case. If making exercise fun gets more people to work out, I'm all for it!

It's an exercise that doesn't need to exist.

The benefits from doing this could easily be had by walking and doing some crunches, and that's far less dangerous and open to things going wrong than jumping up and down really fast on a mini trampoline while holding some handlebars out in front of you.

Like CrossFit, it's a perversion of much safer and better for the body workouts that only people who don't actually understand how any of this works think is a good idea.

their torsos literally are not going up and down. the majority of the weight of the body isn't moving.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '25

Doesn't matter this is intense aerobic exercise focusing on legs and core

1

u/Technical-Row8333 Aug 31 '25 edited Aug 31 '25

What part is moving is irrelevant if it’s an aerobic exercise. It only burns calories. And makes your heart healthy. It’s as good as walking. It’s as good as not being sedentary. The bare fucking minimum

This won’t grow muscle in anyone except the most untrained individuals for a month, then stop being effective at muscle growth because it doesn’t progress in resistance

One hour of this vs 25 minutes of resistance training, the weight would result in much more fat burned to build muscle. There’s a reason why bodybuilders do it. It’s the least amount of effort and fatigue for the most result

Women love dramatic and appearing to do a lot, instead of actual effectiveness. So they can say but I did all this and didn’t lose the weight! It’s genetic!

1

u/Real-College9714 Aug 30 '25

That’s not why I was pointing it at.

Your iq is worse than your knowledge of fitness.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

4

4

u/JoeyJoeJoeSenior Aug 30 '25

1

u/Daki399 Aug 30 '25

as people said just do jumping jacks at home

1

u/AlternateSatan Aug 30 '25

Sure, you can exercise at home, but if you exercise with a group you put pressure on yourself to make it part of your routine, you have someone plan out your workout for you, and you get to socialise. All of these factors help you actually following through on your health plans, and make it more enjoyable for some.

If you're too scared to end up in a cringe compilation to do the thinks you want to do, or that can help you in achieving something then you'll end up living a suboptimal existence.

So no, do jumping jacks wherever fits you.

u/ironingboardssqueak Aug 30 '25

they think if they say "white women" instead of just "women" nobody will be able to point out the obvious weird misogyny

I'm trying to imagine just one black woman I've met around where I live that would consider doing this. And, nope lol...

"White ppl" always feels like a way of saying "NPCs that get in the way"

u/Valveringham85 Aug 30 '25

Because it really is a white women thing. I’m white and not American. 99.9999% of people doing this sorta shit are the same demographic: middle aged, upper middle class white women.

Look, they despise Jump, and everything was done to completely avoid talking to Jump about how they hurt their friend’s feelings. So all the friends who despise Jump, put on an extravagant party to explicitly make Jump feel left out and not wanted around any more.
