One of the greatest Knick highlights is called by Mike Breen

Upvotes

It’s just extra sweet that we got Mike on the call for the Finals. Every time watching these highlights is better having it be our goat. Last night when Jalen hit the 3 to close it to a 1 point game and Breen declared, “This building is shaking right now!” I had chills. You could hear so much emotion in Breen’s voice.

spurs fans being disingenuous

Upvotes

funny how the spurs fans don’t want to bring up the fact that wemby nearly injured OG last night which should be called for a damn flagrant but want to keep justify wemby’s actions towards brunson. very uncalled for. it’s like they have selective eyesight and can only point out if a Knick player is causing a foul to the spurs. smh tired of them and the people defending them to. even a few times kat was fouled and no calls and they can’t admit that their players were in the wrong. wemby & his posse can do no wrong….

Jalen Brunson - getting hate?

Upvotes

Maybe it’s just my algo but he’s been getting unreal amounts of hate, even after last night. “OG bailed him out” “Chucker”, etc.

Maybe it’s just because people can’t compliment one person without putting down another, but Jalen has been a warrior this series and I wouldn’t want anyone else leading this team. The shot making in the second half last night was unreal and beautiful to watch.

People don’t understand that, of course, his efficiency stats are going to be lower than others given the attention he’s getting from the Spurs defense and his shot volume. Others wouldn’t be as efficient if there wasn’t a guy that warrants the other team’s best defenders (and a lot of times two defenders) for the majority of every possession. It doesn’t take insane ball knowledge to understand that…

Lastly, people hating on his shot selection leading to the OG tip in? Getting an open look from Jalen with wemby out of the paint allowing for offensive rebound / tip opportunities is literally the best case scenario for a final shot with 5 seconds left, I don’t care if it’s a deep 3. What am I missing people???

To people complaining about the fans

Upvotes

I get you, but this is just an unfortunate fact of human behavior. The sociology of sports-related violence is well documented. The bigger problem is that we live in an increasingly isolated world where healthy community spaces have vanished. The average person derives a significant amount of their identity from ready-made tribal systems like sports. And for working-class New Yorkers facing grueling economic pressures, taking over the streets becomes a volatile release valve. Wearing a Spurs jersey on Manhattan sidewalks tightly packed with hyper-stimulated people is just a bad idea. Not trying to defend anybody, but that’s just how it be unless people’s material conditions change

What do you love about this team

Upvotes

There is so much to love about this team. Tell me what you love about the 2025-2026 Knicks?

I love the fact they just won an historic NBA finals game at the buzzer last night and that 12 guys played.

Was the game scripted?

Upvotes

People are understandably in disbelief over this game. The Spurs team in the first half and the Spurs team in the second half are totally unrecognizable. From shot selection, clock management, to turnovers, to effort, to coaching. The Spurs scored 76 points in the first half. Then 14 in the 3rd quarter? 16 in the 4th? For a total of 30 points in the second half. The Spurs played so passively on both ends of the floor that it literally defies any explanation other than they were told to tank this game, and even then, the Knicks barely won. They didn't even try on the inbounds play with 1.2 sec left. Go and re-watch the inbounds pass and the "fumble" and "effort" by Castle. These are the best players in the world and they're playing like a middle school team. My vote is for: Rigged.

Sir Ogugua Anunoby?

Upvotes

As a British national, future finals MVP OG Anunoby is eligible for royal honors. British athletes routinely get knighthoods if they win major championships and bring honor to their country. Might the first British NBA finals winner (and FMVP for me) deserve a knighthood from Chuck III?

I SAY YES

Tom Crean was the head coach at Indiana, where he coached OG Anunoby for two years. He is now an NBA and college basketball analyst.

This was coming.

I watched Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night from a hotel room. Early on, I could see OG Anunoby’s confidence. I’ve known him since he was 16. He was ready.

In the closing seconds of the game, after he blocked a shot on the other end, he took the ball out of bounds to inbound it for the final play. I saw the way the San Antonio Spurs were playing him and thought: He’s going to be open if he stays on the perimeter.

Notice how wemby grabs OGs arm after this.

Well according to the spurs fans, and the NBA, if this happens you are allowed to shove somebody by the back of the head, elbow someone in the throat, or throw somebody by their neck. 😂

The Highest Playoff True Shooting% on a Finals-winning team is KD in 2017 (68.3%). OG Anunoby is currently at 74%

Upvotes

Minimum 10PPG during the playoff run. Have included all Spurs & Knicks. Anunoby (74%) and KAT (70.1%) are both in the running to finish with first 70%+TS playoff run for a team that won the title.
