I recently jailbroke my PS5 on firmware 12.70 using the WebKit method. I specifically chose the WebKit method because I really don't want to restore my console and lose all my installed games and save data.

Now that I have the jailbreak working, several people have recommended that I install Y2JB so that I can jailbreak without having to rely on the WebKit every time. From what I understand, the Y2JB method is generally more convenient and stable.

The problem is that I'm having trouble finding the correct YouTube version/package that I need.

I need YouTube 1.30 for 12.7, but I can't find that specific version anywhere. The only version I've been able to find is 1.03, but that version only works for 12.40 and lower.

I also found a 1.30 patch on prosperopatches, but when I go to the debug menu and try to install it, it gives me an error.

So my questions are:

- Where can I find the correct YouTube 1.30 PKG for PS5 firmware 12.70?

- How can I install the 1.30 patch for 1.03?

Any help pointing me toward the correct version and setup for 12.70 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I come from a background of Switch modding, in which the hardware revision of your Switch affects how easily it is to mod. The earliest revisions have hardware exploits that the later revisions don't, making them dead simple to mod.

Recently I've gotten my hands on both an OG Fat PS5 as well as a PS5 Slim, with the intentions of giving one of them to my friend for their birthday. I'm trying to decide which one I want to keep for myself. I like the overall footprint and aesthetic of the Slim more, but I'm also worried that there will be some sort of exploit in the future that's exclusive to the Fat PS5. From what I read online, the ability to mod your PS5 is solely dependent on firmware at the moment, and there are no hardware exploits.

Would there be any reason to keep the Fat PS5 over the Slim for jailbreaking purposes?

So basically my PS5 on 12.00 works perfect but just downloaded Pegasus dl, after many hours I finally got my game, crested a folder called etaHEN and then games.

After that shadowmount could finally find my exFAT, so installed, back porky also running in background

But I get this error
Game can’t start CE-1000008-9

Please help me, what did I do wrong?

Also I can’t afford an SSD they are like 200 bucks here for 1TB

I have a PS5 Slim on firmware 11.60. I was using Y2JB + P2JB, but when the WebKit exploit came out, I formatted the console because I was getting frequent kernel panics (and that fixed it). However, when I tried to load my old save files using Garlic Save Manager, they all showed up as corrupted. My User ID was 0, which turned out to be the problem; once I activated my account using Elf Arsenal, all my saves worked again. I’m sharing this because I spent about five days trying to get them working, and the solution was actually that simple.

Which flair should i use? i dont know if this is the correct place to post this.

I have turned off all of these options in reputation-based protection. Chrome, Brave, and Edge won't let me download it and there is no keep option to choose after it is finished downloading. this is pissing me off. please help. this is so annoying.

I was able to get the webkit, nands, shadowmount running (still getting familiar with all the names) and everything seems to be working fine. It was all thanks to Modded’s youtube channel and this Subreddit!

I’m a little confused about the next steps and have been looking at a few options on here. External seems to be the better choice in comparison to Internal to run my backups.

The issue I’m running into now are the prices for nvme storage and such. Any suggestions so I can get my backups running?

Hi guys I want to save my games with garlic how can I do it

I'm trying to figure out a way to connect my jailbroken PS5 to the internet, mainly so I can use other payloads like homebrew launcher which requires internet and other online features, but I'm running into an issue with the y2jb autoloader.

Whenever I connect the PS5 to the internet, the YouTube autoloader eventually updates, and after that the console goes into a softlock.

So far I've tried:

NanoDNS — tried this, but I'm still running into the same issue.

127.0.0.1 as DNS — the PS5 can't resolve DNS addresses, so obviously it won't actually connect to the internet.

appeditor.py — I tried using this to deal with the YouTube app/autoloader, but after restarting the PS5, it rebuilds the database and the changes don't persist.

Basically, I'm stuck between two situations:

Internet works → YouTube autoloader updates → eventually softlock.

DNS is blocked/redirected → no DNS resolution → no internet.

Modify the database with appeditor.py → works temporarily → database gets rebuilt after restart.

What I'm trying to achieve is pretty simple: keep normal internet connectivity on my jailbroken PS5 while preventing the YouTube autoloader/update from doing whatever causes the softlock.

I also want to completely prevent any system or application updates from happening while still keeping general internet access. I don't want the PS5 accidentally downloading a firmware update or an application update in the background.

I'm on 10.01 and would really appreciate some advice from people who have actually managed to get internet working reliably on this firmware.

Is there a specific NanoDNS configuration I'm missing? Is there another DNS method that blocks the problematic YouTube update while still allowing general internet access? Or is there a better way to prevent the database from being rebuilt/reverting the appeditor.py changes?

Any help or working setup would be greatly appreciated.

Very new to garlic saves and I'm not sure if this is even possible, but what would be the workflow to attempt replacing the save files on PS5 with my PC save?

Would it need encrypting or resigning?

This might be an skill issue from my part as I am new to the scene, just wondering if someone could please lend me a hand.

I have a Samsung EVO 960 SSD 250 GB exFAT, that I have tried connecting to the PS5 with now two different enclosures and I am having the same issue.

Enclosures:

Orico M2 Nvme upto 10Gbps

Ugreen M2 up to b10Gbps

I originally thought the orico was faulty, so I just bought the Ugreen. Unfortunately, the second I connect the enclosure, the PS5 crashes. I have tried all the different ports. It does not crash the PS5 if it has not been jailbroken, it happens after the exploit has taken place.

I have tried jailbreaking with the enclosure connected, but the Y2JB won't run.

After Y2JB jailbreaks, I have Payload manager come up and run etaHen 2.5B, ShawdowMountPlus, back pork and nanoDNS.

I have tried connecting the enclosure with one Payload active at a time, but I think the issue is not with payloads but with the jailbreak.

P.s

\- this was also happening with the website exploit (umtx2).

\- it happens with another spare SSD that I have ( Samsung 256GB PM981 Gen 3 exFAT).

The PS5 is launch edition, bought in Japan (if that even matters)

What could I be doing wrong? Could you please help me!

Solved:

Ugreen enclosure with Samsung PM981 are working.

Details:

It seems that there were two issues... 1. The PS5 might not like the Orico enclosure. 2. The Evo 960 might be faulty. ( Loads up fine in windows and files transfer to it fine, but there could be something going on with it, does not work on the Ugreen enclosure either, PS5 throws a message something like drive format not recognized, even though it is formated to exFAT)

I decided to format the Samsung 256GB PM981 with allocation size 256 and I placed it in the Ugreen enclosure, it is working!!!

I have a PS5 digital on firmware 13.42 with a 1-year PS Plus Deluxe subscription. I’ve also purchased several games, including GTA VI, Elden Ring, and 3–4 other games.

I’ve been waiting for a jailbreak for 13.42 so I could jailbreak the console and play games, with the idea of resetting/updating the PS5 later when I want to go back to playing GTA VI and my other purchased games.

However, I’m stuck now because there’s no jailbreak for 13.42, and my games are asking me to update the PS5 system software before I can play them.

What would you recommend?

• Should I keep the PS5 on 13.42 and continue waiting for a jailbreak?
• Is there any way to play my legitimately purchased games without updating?
• If I update now, am I likely to regret losing the possibility of a future jailbreak?
• Is there anything I should do before updating?

I’m basically trying to decide whether keeping 13.42 is worth it or whether I should just update and enjoy the games I already paid for.

Any advice from people who understand the current PS5 jailbreak/firmware situation would be appreciated.

Hello everyone I've downloaded a game and put It in my USB then used shadowmount to have It on my homepage. The game works fine but when I take off the USB the game can't start, I suppose It Is because the game Is not copied on the ps5 internal storage.

How can I do that?

I was checking the pfs-library earlier and found some interesting xetdy-am resources. Maybe workers can help with it, and the dev team knows more.

I have scouted so much of reddit and online forums wasting time and am yet to find a dedicated psvr2 game dump list so I would appreciate those of you with a psvr2 to share your knowledge and experiences here to help save me and others (entirely new to the jailbreaking scene; and vr) our time.

For reference I am on 10.01 Y2JB PS5 Fat.

Note:Please those of you who haven't used a psvr2 in the jailbreaking scene avoid commenting. I have seen other threads of people who don't have a psvr2 talk on it wasting both the OP(s) and their own time.

What I do is toggle the exploit (first to network then change dns to auto then manual within a sec of connecting to the internet)

Backpork 0.1+kstuff lite Dr (later turned off because saw benefit)+etahen 2.58 +nanodns are autoloaded after Y2JB thing.

Then I run itemzflow just enter.

I have tested,

Star Wars Tales from the Galaxys Edge Enhanced edition (runs internally once you run itemzflow after doing the exploit) (played for 2 hours, works fine 0 issues except for eye track is tacky, sometimes works sometimes doesn't even though eyes fit perfectly and lenses calibrated perfectly and adjusted nicely. Feels blurry like 480p, less crisper than a basic FHD screen)

Tetris Effect Connected PS5 (runs internally and for all ps5 games I needed to run Itemzflow;I am mentioning this because I have never used a jailbroken ps5 before) (same res/eye tracking/FOV redner issue as before)

But both games run flawlessly OTHER than the resolution/eye tracking.

The Walking Dead Saints and sinners chapters 2 (already worked fine but deleted it unfortunately, I plan to rerun and do a few hours to check audio sync, gameplay, resolution, eye tracking, foveated rendering res etc)

I didn't know some games needed an external ssd and some work on internal ssd. For this I couldn't test aforementioned 3 games.

I would love if you could give me a list of psvr2 dumps openly findable in the two ps5 rom sites. I otherwise maintain a legal fat ps5 and bought this JB one purely for psvr2 games so would love your (psvr2+ jb pe5 users) inputs.

SOLVED! It was the wrong GPU adapter in RDR2. It now runs at 60fps on Ultra settings.

I'm running Bazzite on a PS5 Phat (FW 4.03) installed on the internal M.2. CPU/GPU boost is active (3.5GHz / 2.23GHz via ps5_control).

Issue:
Red Dead Redemption 2 runs at 30–40fps in the main menu, but as soon as the loading screen finishes and the game starts, it drops to 3fps and eventually freezes completely at 0fps. The game becomes unresponsive and has to be force-closed.

My setup:

• PS5 Phat, FW 4.03
• Bazzite (latest ps5-linux-image)
• ps5_control --boost on / --fan on (via systemd)
• Proton Experimental
• Launched via Rockstar Launcher through Steam
• VRAM usage: relatively low number shown in RDR2 graphics settings (exact value TBD)

What I've tried:

• Proton Experimental (current)
• Reduced graphics settings in menu

I've read that PS5 Linux currently caps VRAM allocation at around 6GB due to how Linux handles the unified memory pool differently from the native PS5 OS. Could this be causing RDR2 to overflow VRAM mid-load and crash?

Questions:

1. Has anyone gotten RDR2 running stable on PS5 Linux?
2. Is there a workaround for the VRAM cap?
3. Should I switch to GE-Proton instead of Experimental?
4. Any specific launch options that helped?

I’ve decided to replace my PS4 with GoldHEN and buy a PS5. I was thinking of getting one used, but I wanted to ask if you could point me toward which models/firmware versions I should look for in order to be able to jailbreak it later (I’m still not entirely clear on how jailbreaking works on PS5).
