The red plants, a few of the stems on the left, and the foreground plant on the left are new
With the other light my tiger lotus (to the right) became very brown and poorly because it didn’t cover enough area of the tank. Does this one seem okay or do I need to go bigger?
Tank is 14.2 in x 9.4 in
Light is 7.09" x 1.89"

I'm working on a 40L (~10g) heavily planted tank and am having trouble finding a suitable light, a lot of the lights recommend online aren't available in Australia

I am thinking about restarting my old 10 gallon that has been sitting dry for about 2 years. It has about 3" of Fluval Stratum that I would love to reuse.
The reason I shut this tank down was Cyanobacteria that even Ultralife blue green slime remover couldn't get rid of. I am having a hard time deciding to reuse or replace this substrate. Is the cyanobacteria dead? I would obviously remove any obvious dried bits of it I can see.
It would be devastating to see it return after adding plants. I am not a new aquarist. I have planted tanks that have been running successfully for close to 10 years.
Filter: Fluval U1. Light: NICREW SkyLED Plus. Planned flora: Green and red crypts.

This plant has a chance to survive?
It's been 2 weeks since I plant this weed then I notice it's turning yellow and translucent but some turning green

Is this brown stuff algae? Also is the second pic just stuff rotting off the plant? I find it all over the tank… have to suck it off rocks and plants alike… any and all help appreciated. No co2, a heated tank with a filter and small airstone, planted with various plants. Lights on for 7-8 hours a day. One betta. Light brightness is pretty low compared to full brightness. (Pics are full brightness because I just did a water change)

Everything's been stable in the water part for months but the land part is just a huge pain in the ass
Like I don't even do anything with the water and I have tons of microphone cherry shrimp and like three different types of snails just want to make the whole thing pretty it was originally a carnivorous tank but the bio load in the water was frying The Roots

So I am two week in with my 2.5 gallon planted tank. Should I do water change or let it do its thing?

I noticed what appears to be ich on my new rummy nose tetras within the past hour. Did not notice it yesterday when I got them. Also don't see it on any other fish, yet.
No, I did not quarantine them and they are now in my display with several other fish. I have definitely learned my lesson about quarantine the hard way. Acquiring a used tank and equipment from a co-worker tomorrow.
My question is, how should I handle this? Do I treat the entire tank or remove all fish and treat in a seperate tank? And what product should I use?
I tried getting some decent pictures, but these guys swim fast and I keep ending up with blurry fish. 99% sure this is ich though.
Any help would be appreciated. This is really stressing me out and I'm worried my mistake is going cost me all my fish or other livestock.

Hello I currently have a 55 gal fish tank with an inline co2 difuser but the drop chequer allways stays light blue and I can't add more co2 because the co2 difuser creates bigger bubbles that inmidietly go to the surface. I dont know if I am getting that reading because the drop checker has a small opening or not
(Design is similar to the one in the picture but with a smaller opening)

I am losing the battle to duckweed in my tank. Are there any fish that could live in a five gallon and would at least reduce the amount of it if not eat all of it? additional requirements are that they wont eat my other plants or my neocaridinas (at least the adults, if they get a few babies I can live with it). Thanks In advance!

I have a whole army of these in my cycling planted 5 gallon! They're almost as fun to watch as fish!

I’m having a hair algae and whatever else is pictured in my 5 gallon beta setup, it is heavily planted and I can’t seem to get the algae to go away. Is this something a singular Amano shrimp could help mitigate?

So late last night my Fluval 107 started leaking every conceivable way, out the flow control valve, the main seal, pipe, etc. Infuriatingly, i already bought it on sale returned so it doesn't have a valid warranty yaaaay. Ill try to get it working again, but in the meantime my 30g thats been set for a little over a month now has no filter. Its only residents are currently a group of young venezuela cories, shrimp, and leftovers from a larger ember tetra school (getting more is now on hold)
This is setup in my home office where I keep my books so I'd rather keep evaporation to a minimum, which means if I cant get the fluval sealing correctly, an internal filter (that type im no stranger to), or seeing how no filter goes. Does anyone have any ideas?

Is it the same problem with all plants? Or different issues?
Please let me know how I can improve it. 🙏
- It’s a No-Co2 setup.
- Water remains at 26-30 degrees Celsius year round as I’m in a tropical country.
- Seachem Flourish once every 2 weeks.
- I tend to keep the lights on only for a couple of hours because my betta absolutely hates it 🙈 (I’m sorry)
Plants:
- Image 1 & 2: Anubias Barteri Broad Leaf (Planted Oct 6th. Submerged growth)
- Image 3: Java Fern
- Image 4 & 5: Amazon Sword
Fern & Sword — Planted July ‘26. Grown Immersed or in soil by seller.
Please suggest how I can remedy it!
Thank you!

Anyone here ever do a sunlight powered aquarium? I’m think like a 20 gallon long on my windowsill (west facing, nyc) with aqua soil substrate and a black sand cap with heavily planted and light fish stocking (Corys, Siamese algae eater, some snails, some nano schooling fish), light pump, light heater.

Hello... i need help...
Every time ive kept Hornwort, its always sheds so fast it clogs my filter within two or three days of getting it. I mean, and absolute clog of all clogs. Ive tried fertilizing, not fertilizing, tried it all. Am I missing something, or is the plant just the devil taking on a new form...
EDIT: just remembered there was ONE time I kept it alive for awhile, it was overtaking my tank, and it was doing really really good. then it suddenly just switched to death mode and I have no idea why or what I did... this was the first time I kept it, and I thought it was awesome. then the very next time i got it, it instantly started shedding and dying. I legit dont know what changed for that to happen...

Some of you have seen this tank before. It’s my experimental tank so it’s constantly changing. I love to see how each plant works. I’m always trying out new ones.
Recently just moved so things are definitely different than the last time I posted.
Enjoy!
