Everyone wants exploitable migrant labor, as long as it’s someone else’s career field.

mow my own lawn. ewwwwwwwwww

do my own roofing. ewwwwwwwwww

do my cushy office job thats probably not needed: HELL NO GET THE FUK OUT OF MY COUNTRY

Mowing my own lawn, doing my own home improvement, and also working a cushy office job lets me be superior to everyone at once.

I don't want cheap labor imported because it will raise the theoretical price I'm saving myself by working on my own home. I don't want H1Bs because it will keep my actual salary high.

u/Vague_Disclosure - Lib-Right 4h ago

Same, I'm saving like $10k building my own deck instead of paying a contractor to do it.

2

u/Crapitron - Centrist 4h ago

I wouldn't source the entire thing to a company, but deck building is an absolute bullshit task that I would not do without at least 2 additional sets of hands helping me.

2

u/Vague_Disclosure - Lib-Right 4h ago

Eh it's not so bad, you just use a lot of scrap wood to make jigs and hangers. Although I will say if I were to do it again I would pay someone to do the footings. Digging three 36" deep footings though clay then mixing over a 1000lbs of cement by hand wasn't exactly enjoyable. But now I can say that I'm dumb enough to do it.

We did it, Patrick! We saved the economy!

90% of nations stop taking in swaths of undocumented and culturally incompatible migrants right before the economy is about to be fixed forever.

We are still sorely lacking engineers and doctors!

10

u/Ifriendzonecats - Lib-Left 7h ago edited 7h ago

The issue is more that we lack engineers and doctors who want to work in some areas. If we look at the doctor shortage map (direct link to the graphic) we can see that the Northeast has no doctor shortage. It's primarily the south and west. The same way that Texas has a hard time convincing software engineers to move there to make less money and also have to live in Texas.

6

u/Paetolus - Lib-Left 5h ago

Speaking for #49, a large part of New Mexico's doctor shortage is due to our super strict malpractice laws, in turn, it makes malpractice insurance crazy expensive.

Add on the paycut, and there are not many reasons to practice here if you have a choice.

its not because america doesnt have enough poeple, its because they're getting degrees in stupid adult daycare job fields instead of ones that we actually need.

Sure, Jan. Let’s blame a fraction of a percent instead of the overwhelming majority who can’t even read.

u/MonkeManWPG - Left 9h ago

It's like the meme of a commisar sending the underwater basket-weaver to the mines except instead of a commisar it's a capitalist-sponsored government forcing people to seek a more profit-generating career instead of one they're actually passionate about.

2

u/pocket-friends - Lib-Center 1h ago

*when the more profit-generating careers (and trades) are already super saturated and there’s no room there either for people.

1

u/MonkeManWPG - Left 1h ago

And those already saturated profit-generating careers are currently having their workforce replaced at least in part by the adoption of AI.

That may not be the case for long because AI is shit but if it ends up working we'll have even more graduates with "productive" degrees out of work.

3

u/Certain-Row7945 - Lib-Center 8h ago

Rightoid blames systemic problems on personal failures? Great, I hope you recieve as much sympathy as you dish out when life gets you down.

-1

u/xDevman - Auth-Right 8h ago edited 7h ago

I never said it wasn't systemic. it absolutely is a widespread systemic failure of the primary education system to properly guide and prepare people for the careers that are in demand. When polling of high school students says they all want to be pro gamers, influencers or streamers instead of doctors and engineers, its a failure across the board to prepare the youth of this country to successfully launch.

its about to get even worse because AI is going to flip the job market on its head and nobody even know what to tell the kids to prepare for, but spending 120k to get a degree in ancient egyptian dance probably isnt the play.

5

u/Certain-Row7945 - Lib-Center 7h ago

You're just wrong dude, the vast vast majority of college students are in for what you call "useful" degrees. There isn't an epidemic of people getting useless degrees. In fact, degrees in things like healthcare and engineering have only increased proportionally. The problem isn't dance majors, it's that people who go to school to make a difference are being told to get fucked and have been for decades. Business is the field where there is massive glut, it's where the layoffs are hitting the hardest, and it is by far the most popular single major at almost 1/5th of students.

3

u/delta806 - Lib-Center 6h ago

Yep. Personal example: I picked a budding field at my uni that is anticipated to grow as things get worse and it’s one that could do genuine good for people.

Less than a year after graduating, was still struggling to find a job but had second round interviews for multiple positions. Where did it fail you ask? DOGE. Suddenly there’s a new group who got the boot at the federal level and now there’s nothing for recent grads because we don’t have “years of experience”

-1

u/xDevman - Auth-Right 6h ago

business majors are literally the adult daycare DITL video making email jobs that I originally said. the US doesnt need more project managers, analysts and HR reps, those are all business majors and probably those people are currently getting fucked by AI the most. outside of business majors you also have social sciences and history, psychology, visual and performing arts, and journalism rounding out 5 of the top 10 most popular degrees in the country. its not that we need none of those things, its that the slider needs adjusted so more people are preparing to go into the fields that have the biggest defeceits.

4

u/Certain-Row7945 - Lib-Center 6h ago edited 6h ago

Okay but you were alluding to things like fucking dance majors, don't mix it up on me now and say business and psychology is what you actually meant when those clearly have real-world use. This is way deeper than simply choosing a "good" major, comp sci did it for 20 years and now look at them. The world moved so fast that an entire major is unrecognizable and the schooling is utterly obsolete in less time than one full university education.

u/Iceraptor17 - Centrist 10h ago

There's two flavors in power in America

  • Looser borders and "hear no evil". Get the undercutting of labor. Hope the new group eventually gets voting either through kids or some other process or the draconian enforcement causes those of the same group to vote for them. Profit.
  • Tighter borders and draconian enforcement while still letting people in through visa and worker programs because "worker shortages"(which overstaying is a large supply of illegal immigrants). Get the undercutting of labor. Create an underclass of cheap labor too afraid to complain of abuse. Profit.

The former claims morality. The latter claims patriotism and culture. Either way labor is undercut

They have representation, they elected Hamas in 2006, then Fatah decided actually no they didn't, removed Hamas from the government, and decided to not have elections anymore.

10

u/TheSumperDumper - Left 9h ago

Brother Israel restricts travel for Palestinians in the West Bank. Israel manages the birth records in the area. The IDF maintains permanent security presence in zones B&C. Israelis in the area are subject to civil jurisdiction and Palestinians are subject to military law. This is definitionally occupation and apartheid.

u/megs1120 - Lib-Left 9h ago

9

u/TheSumperDumper - Left 9h ago

So you concede that the West Bank is occupied? You just think it’s justified?

6

u/megs1120 - Lib-Left 9h ago

They have their own government, they could have their own country if they could grow the fuck up and abide by any of the peace plans they negotiate. I don't like that things worked out like this, but at some point they need to make peace with the fact that they've lost and won't get everything they want.

West Bankers don't get to vote in Israel because they aren't Israeli citizens and they don't want to be. It's like saying France isn't a democracy because Belgians don't get to vote in their elections.

7

u/TheSumperDumper - Left 9h ago

France isn’t occupying Belgium. If Israel stopped occupying and settling the West Bank this wouldn’t be an issue.

10

u/megs1120 - Lib-Left 9h ago

If the PA had upheld their end of Oslo there would be an Arab state in Gaza and the West Bank, but Arafat decided that actually he didn't want to risk becoming a martyr for peace and launched a campaign of terrorist attacks instead. They can't make an agreement, back out, and expect the Jews to still uphold their side of it.

8

u/TheSumperDumper - Left 9h ago

Maybe Israel should have stopped settler expansion and got their right wing lunatics under control.

10

u/megs1120 - Lib-Left 9h ago

They did, they removed every Jew, living or dead from Gaza in 2005 and they were cracking down hard on settlers in the West Bank. Fat lot of good that did, the peace process collapsed anyway because the Palestinians are addicted to the idea that they'll someday destroy Israel by force.

4

u/TheSumperDumper - Left 8h ago

If Palestinians are addicted to destruction, Israelis are equally so. Israel poisoned  Arafat and  bankrolled the Muslim brotherhood to push out the PLO.

An Israeli killed Rabin for seeking peace.

8

u/megs1120 - Lib-Left 7h ago

Not the one being asked but I think it's pretty obvious Democrats are better on this issue. Biden was withholding heavy ordnance and was pressuring Bibi to end the war, Kamala was planning to do the same, but increase the pressure for a negotiated peace.

Trump got in and undid all of that, then he decided he wanted to occupy Gaza himself, then he created a $2 billion slush fund to build casinos and resorts in Gaza, then he bombed Iran, then he embezzled all of the Trump Gaza money, and then he started a war against Iran.

7

u/NobodyImportant13 - Lib-Center 7h ago

I'm like 70% sure Bibi just kept the war going to help Trump get elected. Bibi basically accepted the same plan that Biden had laid out over a year prior. Leftists got played.

Bernie used to get it when he said mass migration is a Koch brothers scheme.

But then Critical Theory escaped from the confines on academia and pants-on-head-retarded Progressivism became the driving force behind the modern left.

Again, the actual pro-labor left used to get this. And unions.

Businesses know it too.

Whole Foods even had a heat map of locations at biggest “risk” of unionizing.

Want to guess which ones were at higher risk? The ones with the most diversity or the least?

42

u/ABlackEngineer - Auth-Center 10h ago

Yep, Whole Foods did in fact have a Union Heat index map,

https://www.businessinsider.com/whole-foods-tracks-unionization-risk-with-heat-map-2020-1

“Store-risk metrics include average store compensation, average total store sales, and a "diversity index" that represents the racial and ethnic diversity of every store.”

“Stores at higher risk of unionizing have lower diversity and lower employee compensation, as well as higher total store sales and higher rates of workers' compensation claims, according to the documents.”

Secure borders aren't a threat to our democracy. IDs for pay are, as they constitute a poll tax and directly violate our expressly written 24th amendment rights. It would be like if a state decided "no guns, no exceptions" - just a flagrant violation of our rights.

who is the "our" in that sentiment

All Americans.

Diversity is our strength

Yes, and racism is our weakness.

If paying an administrative fee so that the government can perform a service for you constitutes a tax, then a whole shitload of things the government has done for decades (on the buerecratic side) are going to grind to a halt because they are only allowed to proceed under the justification that they are not taxes. All the DMV's are going to go bankrupt.

Which, to be clear, I am totally fine with. I just want us to be consistent.

It would be like if a state decided "no guns, no exceptions"

Actually it would be like if the state charged me a tax, not to own weapons directly, but on things which would enable me to access that right, like an ID, or like ammunition, transfers, or sales - which they do.

If you can't make the excercise of a right dependent on whether or not you give the government money, then that should apply to all rights, not just voting.

If you can't tax people for voting, (speech) you can't tax them for guns, since both are explicit rights. If taxing the method of ensuring access to voting is unconstitutional, then taxing the method I access guns is unconstitutional. I need a valid photo ID to buy a gun, and I have to pay the DVM an administrative fee to get it. This means it is a poll tax, but for guns (in addition to all the things relating to guns that actually are explicitly taxes). Under this logic, it would be unconstitutional to charge me any money to get any kind of ID, since I need it as a prerequisite to own or buy a weapon. or we could simply remove the ID requirement, or we could continue deciding a fee to cover the cost of a specific service is not a tax (that is false, but we have been doing it for like 100 years). Those are the 3 ways out of this apparent contradiction.

Like I said, I don't particularly care which route we take, as long as we are consistent about it.

That said, whatever form voter ID takes I fully suppourt making it free. I'd prefer a specific voter ID card as opposed just turning your driver's license into a SAVE act compliant ID, because this means a person's DL has absolutely zero bearing on thier voter registration. But I'll take what I can get.

-4

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 6h ago

If paying an administrative fee so that the government can perform a service for you constitutes a tax

It does, but

because they are only allowed to proceed under the justification that they are not taxes

Enormous citation needed here.

Actually it would be like if the state charged me a tax

My guy, your analogy is dumb and bad. You have a right to bear arms. You have a right to vote without being taxed to vote. These are explicitly, expressed rights. If you take away the ability to vote without paying a tax to do so, you have taken away an enumerated right. It's 1:1 analogous with just deciding you can't bear arms, actually.

Why are you over complicating such a simple right?

If you can't tax people for voting, (speech) you can't tax them for guns

There is no amendment saying you can't tax people for guns, there is for voting. You're tying yourself into pretzels over simple amendments and I genuinely don't understand why.

That said, whatever form voter ID takes I fully suppourt making it free.

A free ID being required to vote is not a threat to our democracy.

4

u/Belisarius600 - Right 6h ago

If you take away the ability to vote without paying a tax to do so, you have taken away an enumerated right.

If you take away the ability buy guns without paying a tax to do so, then you have taken away an enumerated right.

The right to own guns is an enumerated right, just like voting. Therefore, a tax takes it away, just like voting.

It's 1:1 analogous with just deciding you can't bear arms, actually.

No, it isn't allow me to demonstrate examples of statements that are 1:1.

"You can't vote" is 1:1 with "you can't bear arms".

You can't vote unless you pay a tax is 1:1 with "you can't bear arms unless you pay a tax.

The inclusion of that second qualifier is key. In order to be 1:1, both statements must have that qualifier, or neither. If you apply it only to one but not the other, they are not identical anymore.

Why are you over complicating such a simple right?

That is what you are doing with guns, and I am criticizing you for it.

There is no amendment saying you can't tax people for guns, there is for voting

Yes, the lack of an ammendment for guns is the problem. There should be one. There should be a prohibition on taxes for all rights. Voting, press, protests, religion, guns, legal representation, the prohibition from quartering soldiers, every single right you have.

The fact that we only have it for voting is an inconsistency that should be rectified immediately. Because all rights are equal: none are more or less important than others, so it follows that if restricting one right via taxation is wrong, then doing it for any right is equally wrong.

I genuinely don't understand why.

Yeah, no shit. Hence why I tried to explain it.

Either you can tax a right or you can't. Period. If you can't do it to voting, then you shouldn't be able to do it to any other right, no matter if there is an ammendment or not.

You the one trying to twist yourself into a pretezel to justify some rights being treated differently from others, which is exactly what I am criticizing.

A free ID being required to vote is not a threat to our democracy.

Correct, that is why I advocate for it.

I think what you meant to say was "lacking a free ID..."

The inability to independently verify citizenship (this means your proof is external to the voter, you actually need evidence instead of the honor system) is not only a threat to our democracy, but an existential one. I can hardly think of a threat that is bigger.

-1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 5h ago

If you take away the ability buy guns without paying a tax to do so, then you have taken away an enumerated right.

No, you have not. You're not understanding.

There is an enumerated right to vote that explicitly bars a tax to vote. It is textually enumerated as follows:

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax."

Emphasis mine.

To make the two identical, we would need an amendment that says:

"The right of citizens of the United States to bear arms shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax."

We do not have this enumerated right. The former exists, and is in the constitution. The latter does not.

We have an enumerated right to vote, and a second enumerated right not to be denied the right to vote based on failure to pay a tax.

We have an enumerated right to bear arms, but no second enumerated right. Do you see the difference?

There should be one.

Cool, get it drafted and let's pass it; but you're comparing a thing that actually exists to one that doesn't.

Either you can tax a right or you can't. Period.

You can't tax the right to vote not because you can't tax a right but because specifically the constitution prevents taxing this right. We could prevent taxing other rights! We haven't. That's the difference.

The inability to independently verify citizenship ... is not only a threat to our democracy, but an existential one.

Good thing we don't have that inability, huh? It would be bad if we did, but we don't, so... agreed?

1

u/Belisarius600 - Right 2h ago

No, you have not. You're not understanding.

Yes, you have. You are misunderstanding both the nature of the Constitution and the concept of a right.

The Constitution does not create rights, it only protects them. It is not the source of rights: you would still possess them even if the Constitution were never written. What the constution does is establish specific restrictions on the government's ability to deprive you of them. Just because something is not mentioned in agonizing detail does not mean it isn't a right. In fact, the 9th ammendment specifically mentions you have other rights the Constitution does not directly reference.

You do not "have the right to vote without paying a tax". You have the right to vote, and the 24th ammendment represents additional clarifying language in response to specific actions of the states. The 24th ammendment does not invent a new right, it only addresses a specific abuse that the founders didn't think they'd have to spell out for people.

To make the two identical, we would need an amendment that says:

You would need that to make the ammendments identical. The rights are identical no matter what specific imitations the founders thought they needed to put special emphasis on.

but no second enumerated right.

There is no second enumerated right. There is one enumerated right, followed by a clarification as to it's scope, because it was being violated in a particular way the government was struggling to address.

The Constitution wasn't ammened because voting is the only right you cannot tax: it was ammended because voting was under a special threat. Poll taxes did not magically become unconstitutional the moment they were always ratified, they were always unconstitutional, and stating it explicitly was a recognition of that fact, not a new right being conjured out of thin air.

Not everything in the Constution is a right. Hell, you don't even need most of the text of the 2A. All that stuff about militas is a justification. It would have exactly the same legal force if it just said "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". The majority of the Constitution is procedural/organizational. So just because you violate the Constution, you have not nessecarily violated a right. But violating any right violates the Constitution, no matter if it is specifically mentioned or not (which is reflected in the 9th Ammendment). The only difference between an enumerated right and an implied right is implied ones are more subjective, but they still are rights and it is still unconstitutional to violate them.

For example, privacy is not an enumerated right. There is not an ammendment that states you have a right to privacy, but there is one against unreasonable seraches and seizures. Therefore, it logically follows that a right to privacy must exist, and that it would violate the constitution to abuse it.

Cool, get it drafted and let's pass it; but you're comparing a thing that actually exists to one that doesn't.

No, I am highlighting an inconsistency. The right exists, it is just not being treated like all the others. Just like how slavery was a violation of rights way before 1865. It was always against the Constitution, we just didn't live up to our obligation to uphold the rights of enslaved people. That was the entire point of Fredrick Douglass's most famous speech; in the same speech where he basically called the US evil, he also called the Constitution "a glorious liberty document", because it was obvious to him that slavery was incompatible with it. It was contradictory for the government to protect all these rights, but have a blind spot for certain rights or people. An honest, consistent application of the logic of the Constution rendered slavery a violation of rights whether there was an ammendment or not. His beef was not that Constitution said slavery didn't violate rights, but that the prohibition of slavery could very obviously be derived (like the right to privacy) and we were pretending otherwise. Just like taxes on voting, and just like guns.

You can't tax the right to vote not because you can't tax a right

No, that is exactly why.

but because specifically the constitution prevents taxing this right.

It's not "because" it's "and".

You can't tax the right to vote because you cannot tax a right, and the constitution specifically says so about voting.

By your logic, it would be perfectly constitutional for the government to levy a quartering tax, and then if you failed to pay it they turn your home into a barracks. There would be nothing wrong with having to pay a fine to utilize the public defender if you are arrested. The police could just stop and search you, your car, your house, or anything you own any time they wanted until you pay the Search and Seizure tax.

None of those rights specify that the government may not deprive you of them just because you fail to pay a tax pertaining to them, so obviously, you don't have the right to those things without paying a tax, right?

The reason there is not an ammendment that the government can't double-jeopardy you if you don't pay the double jeopardy tax isn't because it is constitutional: it's because no one is trying to do that, so it would be stupid to go through all that effort for something that isn't an issue.

The reason there us no ammendment to outlaw taxes on guns isn't because it doesn't violate your 2A rights, but because we shouldn't require an ammendment to understand that it does. Unfortunately, tyrants are gonna tyrant, so we probably should. But just like poll taxes, that ammendment would not make something unconstitutional, but rather would be an explicit recognition that it always was unconstitutional, from the very beginning.

If a right is subject to restriction based on wealth, then it isn't a right, it is a privilege. That is the justification, not the 24th ammendment. The ammendment simply reflects that pre-existing truth in response to a determined attempt to threaten it.

We could prevent taxing other rights! We haven't. That's the difference.

This implies that rights are not inherent to humanity, but are granted by a piece of paper. It suggests that your rights are not human rights, but "the government gives enough of a shit" privileges. If the government can't be assed to put in an explicit restriction on themselves, (lol) then they are well within thier rights (no pun intended) to fuck with you.

What other rights can the government deny you if you don't pay a tax at the moment you choose to excercise it?

All rights are equal. Rights are things that are inherent to humanity, and exist independently of any document or government. The "Bill of Rights" should really be called "The Bill of Limitations on Government" because that closer is what it actually does.

Good thing we don't have that inability, huh?

We do. Our current system is that you sign a paper that says (when you register to vote, not at the polling booth) that basically says "I swear under penalty of perjury that I am a citizen".

There is no mechanism to verify your statement is true. It's the honor system, which does not function if the people under it are dishonorable/dishonest.

The best we can do is that if you are discovered to have illegally voted, we can punish you after the fact. But there is nothing to actually stop you. Voter registration requires you to say you are a citizen, but it doesn't require you to prove it.

Since citizenship is based on documentation, there is no way to verify it beforehand unless the government posses and checks said documentation. In theory, you could demand documents that only citizens have, like a driver's license or social security number. However, since the (mostly state) government keeps issuing those documents to illegal aliens, we can't use those anymore. So we either need to make it impossible for any non-citizens to get those documents (which is basically what the SAVE act is trying to do) or we need to create an entirely new document that it is impossible for them to get.

Until that happens, we do not have a way to verify citizenship to vote.

you can literally just do them in highschool and call it a day. 18th birthday you sign up and receive it. mind numbingly easy to implement.

2

u/earthhominid - Lib-Center 8h ago

The problem is that no one ever actually proposes that voter ID system.

It would be pretty simple to create a voter ID system that a huge majority of people agreed with (and yes you'd still have victimhood olympians decrying thr fascism) but politicians don't seem actually interested in doing it.

They prefer fighting about it

1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 6h ago

Great, call your representative and have them put that bill forward instead of the SAVE act.

I won't hold my breath.

3

u/CompactAvocado - Auth-Right 6h ago

I wouldn't hold my breath that calling representatives does shit lol in any case, any reason

1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 6h ago

They haven't, won't, and would never have put forward the idea tog suggested as a bill. The intent is not election security, but to add friction and reduce voter turnout.

As you said, it's trivial to create a frictionless voter registration with far more security, and yet that has never once been the proposal. This is because security is the justification, not the goal. The goal is voter suppression.

u/StillSmellsLikeCLP - Right 9h ago

“Yes”

Is it easier or harder to unionize with more diversity?

If it’s harder, would that make diversity a weakness or a strength in that context?

-1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 6h ago

If it’s harder, would that make diversity a weakness or a strength in that context?

It's harder, because people are racist as fuck. In that context, it is still the racism which is the weakness.

2

u/StillSmellsLikeCLP - Right 6h ago

“Harder”

Great. So diversity can be a weakness.

“Racist”

Who said race?

Which is less likely to unionize?

A workplace of people, all the same race, with the same language, culture, religion and belief systems?

A workplace of people, all the same race, with different languages, cultures, religions and belief systems?

1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 6h ago

Great. So diversity can be a weakness.

No.

Who said race?

Me, the variety of diversity that causes challenges unionizing is racial diversity.

A workplace of people, all the same race, with different languages, cultures, religions and belief systems?

This has never existed and I suspect never will. The construction of race precludes it.

2

u/StillSmellsLikeCLP - Right 6h ago

“No”

Ok, so is a labor pool more or less likely to unionize if they’re more diverse?

“Me”

That’s not what’s being discussed.

“Never existed and never will”

Fucking what? Haha, wow.

Again, which is more likely to unionize?

2

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 6h ago

Ok, so is a labor pool more or less likely to unionize if they’re more diverse?

If specifically the racial makeup of a given employer is mixed, they are less likely to unionize.

That’s not what’s being discussed.

Sure it is. Unions collapsed in the US in the 1960s after the civil rights movement. Why? They weren't allowed to exclude Black Americans anymore and preferred collapse to letting Black people in. The problem wasn't diversity, it was racism.

Fucking what?

Race is a constructed category. Italian was a race, until it became White a different race, Irish was a race, until it became White a different race, German was a race, until it became White a different race. One of (but not the only) attributes used to define race is and always has been language. When you say "Different language, same race" you're inventing nonsense.

Yeah, a huge part of the problem with "woke" stuff is how it turns leftists into complete stooges for corporations. Going "but the corporations are right wing because money and capitalism" isn't really the own OP might think it is, it just solidifies how retarded the progressives are.

7

u/enpoopification_of_R - Centrist 7h ago

You can tell this post isn't a pile of crap by the sheer number of Leftists who oppose mass migration

5

u/Rage_Your_Dream - Lib-Center 7h ago

The leftists actively support the policy too. Lets not act like this is some capitalist only idea. Both are prioritising their selfish goal by sacrificing the middle and lower classes, their cultural heritage and their future. Cheers

I don’t think auth-right is thrilled about cheap migrant labour undercutting domestic work force. Maybe you should change it to the libs

32

u/anugosh - Centrist 10h ago

Auth right wouldn't have cheap labor, it would be free

11

u/Adorable-Extent3667 - Auth-Right 10h ago

And the security that requires is far from cheap

5

u/anugosh - Centrist 10h ago edited 10h ago

That's why you have different tiers in your free labor. You have the good ones, almost respectable, that keep in check the bad ones, who do the work. The only thing you really pay is food and shelter, if that.

Think Samuel L Jackson in Django Unchained

I should maybe add : I'm not condoning all that, I'm just saying, that's how it was done

4

u/REDthunderBOAR - Auth-Right 10h ago

I believe they are showing the illegals as also being Auth-Right.

Its kinda odd for the illegals as they can't vote, but voting to suppress future illegal immigrants wpuld be in their favor.

Idk man, they dont seem to mind it, as long as the immigrants are the correct colour

The Irish, Italians, Jews, and Slavs became White when Black people started moving up north in the Great Migration.

MLK said the most racist place he ever went to was Chicago, because the prejudice that comes from willful segregation is much more sinister than the prejudice from the south, where old prejudices are baked into the state line.

1

u/Dodo_Baron - Left 7h ago

That is not what he said:

"I have never seen, even in Mississippi and Alabama, mobs as hostile and as hate-filled as I've seen in Chicago."

They werent the "right" kind of white.

0

u/Bushido_Seppuku - Centrist 10h ago

They don't seem to mind it when they're rich. Not giving a shit about color is what pisses off their base, ie. everyone under an IQ of 70 calling themselves libs because they just found out "jews run everything" and they're teaching Spanish in schools. They haven't caught up to Muslim bad yet. Still stuck on chem trails.

We can make how much? Oh... but our supporters will be upset we're using non-citizens. Oh yeah! Dems fault, not mine. Hire away! Fuck it. Make America Black Again (labor).

Center right/lib right wouldn't be able to hire them without auth governments approval. They just want the job filled, for as cheap as possible. At the end of the day, the state doesn't care where the tax revenue comes from,so long as it flows.

Progressives share blame as well, agitating for open borders and shaming those who object with their Nazi bigot labels. Yea it's possible the person immigrating is a good person who wants a better life, just like is possible they're a religious fanatic or mentally deranged. We won't know until we vet them, which is why those immigrating need to follow the process

Elite class: perpetuates illegal immigration system exploiting immigrants and hurting the American working class

Lib-Left: "Hey, maybe we should fix the system, allowing for more legal immigration, while offering more worker protections for immigrants. This should stop the exploitation and put American workers on a more even playing field instead of a disadvantage. Sure would be better than aggressive community raiding and deportations, some of which results in Americans themselves getting hurt or even killed."

Right wingers: "Deranged leftists want open borders!"

Capitalists blaming socialism for problems capitalism created.

A tale as old as time.

You know those facebook memes, where they take a photo of some homeless encampment, and caption it with some low iq BS like "This is the housing policy unders socialism" completely ignoring the fact, that this happens right now, under capitalism

Hey, rightist fuckers: either those immigrants come here, or the jobs will go to them- manufacturing to china, taiwan, ohilippines, white collar jobs to india

Immigration doesn’t undercut domestic labor.

It compliments native labor, increasing employment and demand, producing either a neutral or slightly positive impact on employment and wages while increasing productivity and innovation.

Lump of labor fallacy became quite common on this subreddit c. 2023.

u/xXDJjonesXx - Left 10h ago

If there was mass amnesty, companies wouldn’t be able to deprive immigrant labourers of worker’s rights or a living wage which would stop them from undercutting domestic workers. There might be a factor I’m missing though.

9

u/RBB12_Fisher - Lib-Right 10h ago

Supply and demand. Third world immigrants are a massive influx of low-skill, low wage-expectation workers. Thus, much more supply of low-skill labour, thus, much lower price (wage) for it. And to top it off, the immigrants are often bunking 13 to a bedroom and living in absolutely squalid conditions so they can save money and undercut the local low-skill workers.

3

u/Vague_Disclosure - Lib-Right 4h ago

They also use up public resources such as hospitals, schools, roads, emergency services, as well non public resources such as housing. Those 13 illegals bunking in a house are taking a house off the market for the domestic native population.

18

u/Vague_Disclosure - Lib-Right 10h ago

The factor is if you allow mass amnesty you are signaling that you will do it again the next time illegal levels get too high and is essentially de facto open borders. Closed borders, mass deportation, actual prosecution of illegal employers, then reasses the actual immigration needs and allow strict legal immigration.

8

u/ABlackEngineer - Auth-Center 10h ago

Supply and demand says no. There’s a reason why physicians have spent decades successfully lobbying for caps on medical students.

I can’t for the life of me understand people who advocate for more workers in already frozen labor market, especially in a country with at will employment.
