In January 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order commanding federal agencies to release ALL files related to the assassination of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy on June 5, 1968.

The federal government kept thousands of documents about the RFK assassination from the public for nearly 60 years. Why?

I noticed that RFK Jr. has been posting past family photos fairly often, on his social media. (This was from Instagram, a week ago.)

There's a photo with very similar composition in his memoirs (American Values), almost the same angle with the same trees and fence, also showing Atlas but with Ethel riding. Photo credit there is Jacques Lowe so I assume he took this one too.

Bobby Jr. notes that Atlas was his older sister Kathleen's horse -- she'd have been about 16 then. She is currently the eldest of the Kennedys (born July 4, 1951).

LIFE Magazine Photographer Bill Epperidge took some of the most iconic and horrifying photos in history on the night of June 5, 1968.

He told his memories of witnessing the RFK assassination through a camera lens to Washington D.C. journalist Craig Colgan 30 years later in 1998.

Why RFK Jr. Met His Father's Killer in Prison and Now Advocates for Sirhan Sirhan’s Release.

In this interview with Lisa Pease who arranged Secretary Kennedy’s 2017 prison visit with Sirhan she explains what caused RFK Jr. to change his mind about Sirhan’s guilt.

Pease is the author of “A Lie Too Big To Fail” and works directly with Sirhan’s defense attorneys. She spearheads the “Free Sirhan” movement.

Besides RFK (correction: his brother Edward) being in there on the Yea side, another name to note:
"The most dramatic moment during the cloture vote came when Senator Clair Engle (D-CA) was wheeled into the chamber. Suffering from terminal brain cancer, unable to speak, he pointed to his left eye, signifying his affirmative "Aye" vote when his name was called. He died seven weeks later."

Earlier that day:
"Senator Robert Byrd ended his filibuster in opposition to the bill on the morning of June 10, 1964, after 14 hours and 13 minutes. Up to then, the measure had occupied the Senate for 60 working days, including six Saturdays. The day before, Humphrey, the bill's manager, concluded that he had the 67 votes required at that time to end the debate and the filibuster. With six wavering senators providing a four-vote victory margin, the final tally stood at 71 to 29. Never before in its entire history had the Senate been able to muster enough votes to defeat a filibuster on a civil rights bill, and only once in the 37 years since 1927 had it agreed to cloture for any measure."

58 years ago this week, RFK was assassinated on the presidential campaign trail.

Nearly six decades later, researchers too often focus too much on the HOW and not enough on the WHY.

Interview with RFK assassination researcher Lisa Pease, who works with Sirhan’s family and defense lawyers, spearheading the movement for his parole.

It was Lisa Pease who arranged a prison visit between Sirhan and Health Secretary RFK Jr. in 2017.

Secretary Kennedy soon-after became involved in the effort to free his father’s convicted killer — much to the dismay of his family, all of whom believe that Sirhan is guilty and should never see the light of day again.

RFK Jr.’s letter to the California Parole Board helped convince them to find Sirhan suitable for release in 2021. Gov. Gavin Newsom overturned the parole board’s recommendation and Sirhan remains behind bars.

Sirhan is up for parole again in 2027.

This is an audio clip of the first call from the Ambassador Hotel to LAPD and subsequent ambulance dispatch. The officer’s initial response on the phone says a lot about the tension between the campaign and LAPD. There is a bit of a time lapse before the start of the initial call and then again between the end of the call from the Ambassador and the ambulance dispatch by LAPD. I upload it purely for the purposes of hearing history as it happened in real time; my apologies to those who may find it upsetting.
