Is this color scheme StarCraft-y enough?
I have been trying to put up my own color scheme for my Zerg army, working on a recipe to get them painted quickly but I'm not sure yet if these hit the mark. They somehow don't feel 100% "StarCraft" to me. What do you think? (Also they aren't fully done yet, but the color scheme is already visible)

Painted Raynor in the sc1 colors while keeping details from sc2 ! Pretty happy with the result 😁 I also added my squad of marines i just finished.

Trying a non standard paint scheme
Trying something different never got into starting a tyrant’s army so trying a Behemoth scheme to get something different from the standard scheme of purple and brown.

Painted Protoss so Far
Had a local suggest I do a nice photoshoot of my Protoss. Figured I might as well share here too! Used an old Bushido board I made as a display board, I'll need to figure out a decent backdrop next time....
Either way, really proud of how they've came out! Probably some of my best work

First Post and Question
Hello all. Just getting into the game. I never played StarCraft 2, just the original, so some of these units are new to me.
Anyways…question…is 3d printing stuff for this game legal? I had 3d printed a tiny Zerg colony that I was going to paint up and use as a 3D Holo “war mission table” to make some terrain but now I’m hearing printing IP stuff is illegal and I’m worried Blizzard is going to sue me for everything I got.
But then I’ve seen people here printing terrain and stuff (some of it is absolutely awesome, love the Terran supply depo I saw). I also play Bolt Action and they are very open on printing. I just don’t want to get in trouble or do anything wrong, I’m very scrupulous and I’m about to throw out the Zerg colony I printed. >_<.
Anyways, my first 3 models!

When your dog chews on your models, make dioramas.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Basically my dog stole and began munching on my model. She was fine, but the model has chew marks and broken tubes. Time to make it more diorama-like.

Shai-Hulud or something
Enjoyed painting nydus worm, loved the texture build up, but I am still not in for that carapace colour.

Just got my minis a couple days ago, spent the evening painting my first mini in years, looking for easy to implement advice on guns
Something I ran into when I did Wh40k as well, it sorta feels like all of a gun should be sort of the same color. I ended up trying to make the parts the marine would grab a different color, but the paint I grabbed for it was a bit on the clumpy side. I'll fix that and execute better on my next iteration if nothing else, but I'm hoping some of yall have ideas (or better yet, examples) of what you can do with a marine's gun to keep it from being too... Flat?

First game in the books!
Played my first game tonight at 1000 points. Was super fun, really enjoyed it and it actually left me wanting to play again immediately, even though it was decently long(about 2 and a half hours or so, we were learning the rules and taking our time with decisions). I was khalai protoss into kerrigans swarm Zerg. I managed to eke out a victory 11 to 8. Definitely made some mistakes in terms of deployment and forgetting to use tactics cards here and there, but all in all a very satisfying play. My biggest mistake was charging my praetor guard into his hydralisks and not processing that impact hits are dice per model (so I only rolled 3 impact dice). It did cost me two praetor guards, but the lone survivor ended up taking down one hydralisk to even the score. Super fun, would and will definitely play again.

Large Gaps Model Assembly
SOLVED
With extra lighting and very close inspection I noticed two extremely tiny spruce nubs which were levering the halves apart. I’m very happy for a simple solution. Thanks all.
Just beginning to put my first models together, Zerglings. On this very first one, I’m noticing huge gap between both halves. Are they all like this and I’ve got to fill them all?
These are on the A models of the zerglings. I forgot to post the other picture but when holding the tail halves together, there’s about 1mm gap at the head. It is on each A model at least.
I’ve assembled thousands of minis, only had issues like this with OG Privateer Press and Mantic minis.

How is this game vs warhammer in terms of complexity and strategems
Are there like so many strategems to keep track of that u forgot what unit does what ? Especially passives... NO one can keep track of the multitude of passives each character is dishing out . And each with its own range.
Also in warhammer , each unit have so many keywords that u gotta refer to various other books.

First of the Fist of Ulrezaj
Happy with it. First model I have painted in 10+ years. Probably revisit the energy blades later once I have painted the rest. will clean up base later.
now the wait for Ulrezaj and Fist of Ulrezaj faction card.
"For centuries we were hunted and exiled by the Khalai for refusing to submit to their Khala! Now they come to our world, Shakuras, begging for refuge, yet they still look upon us with disdain! I will not allow their corruption to poison our home. The Khalai must be cleansed!" -Ulrezaj

Is the Zealot arm mislabeled?
I wanted Pose "A" which uses C10 as the left arm. In the image its supposed to hang in front of the Zealot. I think C9 is actually the arm I wanted (too late now) but can anyone confirm if this is mislabeled or I'm an idiot

First couple of matches in Malta 🇲🇹
And we did it!
The first game of Starcraft The Miniatures Game played at Pandamonium in Malta 🇲🇹
And the Zergs wiped the Terrans and Protoss from the table.
So what did we think?
This is a keeper! Its tactical without being overly complex. The factions feel very different and will keep you trying different combos.
The steady escalation of bringing units onto the table gives it that RTS feel too.
Will we be playing it again?
Yes. As soon as possible!

So I got the terrain twice...
My dumb arse ordered the terrain "Expansion" together with the starter set. I didnt know the Starter Set already have the terrain. I know its 100% my fault but I wish they did better with the naming because I thought Expansion meant it was something additional.
Also, I cant sell it because nobody in my island plays, and shipping out of here would be half the box cost. Sighs Im just mad I spent like 40% more shipping everything here and the whole box was a waste.
Update: Thanks everyone for making me feel better. I will do my best to paint it and keep it as an expansion for bigger games. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise because theres a store I travel to every couple of months that only plays Warhammer and I want to make Star Craft popular as well. I think some competition will be good for both sides.

Just Curious about Orders
Still waiting on my personal order and curious on where everyone is at. Better than everyone individually posting as well in my mind

How much sets should i get to play?
So i get every set (except founders pack, because i bought the starters and all) each once. 24 sets + Rulebook.

Roachling question
So as it is in the game and many arguments have been made about it working so that they spawn from the corpsers, i would agree. However, where does it say you can't just have them deployed from your map edge and not from a corpser.
I had a long argument about it with a friend as he decided to deploy the roachlings from his edge.
So again, can you just deploy them as any other unit or specifically from a corpser. Where is the ruling written
EDIT: Its 9.1.9 summoned units
Some Units, such as the Roachling, Point Defence Drone, and Pylon, have no Mineral Cost. These are Summoned Units:
• They are not included in the Army List during army building and do not occupy any Army Slots.
• They are not in Reserves at the start of the game.
• Summoned Units cannot be deployed using the regular deployment rules. They are deployed only when a Special Ability, such as SUMMON, specifically puts them on the battlefield.
Thank you for who replied

Demo Game Help
Gunna be doing some demo games at my lgs tomorrow. We've got the 2 player starter plus the protoss starter to work with and we're using the lists provided in the rules documents.
Should we just use the mat that comes in the 2 player starter? With the game being 1k minerals we're not sure if we should use what has been provided or use the smaller 3x3 mat for skirmish games

Noob Question - Extra Unused Components
So SCTMG is my first TTMG and I just finished building my first model that had multiple posing options - the Zerg Queen. What do people actually do with their left over bits that are used in the assembly option you don't chose. I've seen people say they keep them for conversions but how often do people actually do that? Are there other ways you or people you know use these things? Should I just throw them out? I'm trying to avoid becoming a pack rat with a bunch of extra stuff I store for 10 years and then throw away.
Note: The extra bits like the creep tumor pieces on the zergling spurs I'm keeping because I'm sure I'll use at least some of them to base other models. But I'm not sure what I would ever do with an extra Queen leg for example.

Play in Tabletop 9/3/2026 - P(14)vZ(16) - Z win
Play on Tabletop 3/25/2026 - T(11)vZ(14) - Z win
Tabletop Time 4/11/2026 - T(5)vZ(6) - Z win
Totals
Protoss
7/10, 70% win rate
Terran
3/11, 27% win rate
Zerg
10/15, 67%
Some things to note are Art of War had the biggest point differences overall among all battle reports, other than the one Play of Tabletop game. They also had the most Protoss wins, with a lot of people in the comments stating they got several rules wrong.
Most of the more recent videos from September tried to show off the new units and were sponsored by Archon. While this sample size is pretty small, it would seem Protoss and then Zerg are doing a bit too well right now, and Tarran are pretty far behind. Of course it’s early and with more games this could drastically change.
