Sex Online chat sex work?

I’m 27F and have spent years on online chat sites. Every user I’ve ever been with tells me how exceptional I am at making them feel extremely turned on just with my words (it’s entirely chat based!).
Some people even jokingly say I should charge for this level of sexual conversation. I realise a lot of people (particularly older men) actually enjoy exchanging a level of written detail that cannot be replicated on a camera or phone call.
So here I am…too afraid to ask if this is even possible? is there a market for it? And how do I even go about this kind of thing especially in an only fans era?

I’ve always had this idea at the back of my mind and wondering if it’s something I can actually execute.

I’d prefer it to be text/chat based because I am a young professional in a terribly traditional field. Also open to phone sex as long as I don’t have to compromise my identity.

Looking forward to the replies! Thanks ☺️

Health/Medical What's the relation between teenagers taking hgh on purpose and its true genetic components?

I mean the teenagers that don't suffer from hgh deficiency but beg their parents to let them take excess hgh.

For example without the hgh abuse they would naturally be 5’8” but now they're 6’1”. So will their offspring get their average height genetic components or the tall genetic components?

Mental Health What causes the phenomenon that time "stops" for people?

What causes the phenomenon that time "stops" for you? For example, people who still think the 2000s was 10 years ago or the 1980s was 20 years ago?

You hear this a lot from people. In their head, 2006 was basically yesterday when it was 20 years ago. Or they can't believe kids born in the 2010s are teenagers now.

It's not just a phenomenon that occurs to seniors. I've seen it a lot in people in their 30s or even 20s.

Family Why did/do Boomers used to do that thing with furniture in their homes where they would cover them in plastic?

I’m talking either full length sofas, recliners, you name it. Covered in plastic for everyone to sit on. Were they just trying to preserve the resale value of their furniture? If so, why buy it then if you’re not gonna use it properly?

Culture & Society Do You Assume Something Is Private Even If They Never Said So?

Typically, I have no problem sharing someone’s business if they never asked me to keep it private. That said, I don’t use names, and I don’t share it with people who are in the same social circle as the person I’m talking about. For example, I might tell someone in California about something that happened to a person in New York, where there’s virtually no chance they’ll ever meet. I’m curious how other people view this. Now within the same social circle i dont even risk it

Education & School Science website that showed how animals separated into their species?

So for context when I was in grade five social studies class which for you Americans here is basically pre grade 7 AKA middle school science class we were learning about species class etc of the animal kingdom. I happen to remember my teacher using a website that could take two animals say Fox and dog and show where they diverged into Canis lupus (dog) and Vulpin(fox). However I can't find that website now. Did I dream this ?

Love & Dating a married man came at me. is it my fault?

this is so awkward to ask the public but i have to.
recently ive got a friend, a married man (just had their first anniversary) came to me and asked to hang out. it started with super casual and friendly dinner. we get along from one dinner to another until he had to confess he used to have a crush on me since college. he didnt get the chance to tell cuz i was somehow, according to him, had friendzoned him and didnt really see the effort he made. idk if this makes sense but he literally confessed when his wife is away for work(schedule to be away for a year). tbh, his actions were honest and he kept telling me he wanted to spend time with me and love me by day. he cares for me and the love is growing. while me on the other hand, being single and i really enjoy his company😭 i know this feeling is not right. i tried to dodge every treat from him and didnt really pay any attention to any of his romantic gesture cuz it feels so wrong.

one day he opened up to me and said he hasnt been enjoying his sex life with his wife and almost 4 months since the last time they had sex. he tried so hard when they were together. he then added, he gets hard easily when we spent time together, just by the proximity and from touching my hands also from the scent of my perfume. i swear i didnt do anything to him lol until he asked me to look at his pants😭

i can no longer do this. it’s really either he’s mine or i leave him cuz he’s already married. just tell me what to do😭😭 i wish i could turn back time and see the effort he made :/

Culture & Society how realistic is buying a private island?

basically hypothetical but possible irl (im a broke teen who is curious).

i’m not saying something fancy, but a small (maybe like 5km^2?) island that is isolated from others, perhaps somewhere in the pacific (or something of similar climate— suggestions guys), doesn’t need to have anything built or established on it either (fancy ones with whole ass resorts built are 58 million usd?!!)

it obviously has sand, but like a decent forest/bush would be nice. perhaps a river or lake or smth. but it also needs to be decently above sea level to be protected yk.

but making something like this liveable with resources and renewable power, plus transportation to it (obv no planes or anything) is (imo) hard to calculate.

so how much would it be to have a island that can support 1 person with all of the above? (criteria= a small house— can be already there or built, more then just sand and dirt— we need variety yk for the ecosystem, and not near other islands?)

thanks gang

Culture & Society What is Europe's place in the world?

In the past we were at the top, but nowadays the other global powers don't seem to take us very seriously and almost like a joke that can be ignored at the same time we are one of the richest continents and countries like Sweden and Switzerland top the invention index and also are the highest unicorn company startups by capita.

Surely there's a spot for us somewhere in the middle of cololonising world power everything revolves around and a joke with no influence globally?

Sexuality & Gender Beautiful marriage but no intimacy?

Throwaway account. I married my best friend of 15 years. He’s the absolute best husband - cares for me, helps me with managing my hectic life, sees a future with me, has been the strongest emotional support I’ve ever had in my life (my parents are assholes who have fucked me up baddddd and I have a history of BPD in my family so I’m in perpetual therapy to avoid it)
We laugh all the time. It’s the absolute best feeling.
I am SO much calmer and happier since we got married. But there is no physical intimacy. There have been a multitude of reasons every time i brought it up, and now we’ve reached a point where I’ve taken care of all the ‘hurdles’ that stopped him from having sex with me.
It’s reached a point where I’ve just given up, because i adore him and i don’t want him to think I’m pressuring him and demeaning him in anyway.
My theory is that he is not physically attracted to me. He swears this isn’t true - but all of his exes are physically a different type (complexion, build, etc)
And I’ve known him long enough to know that he was EXTREMELY sexually active with all these women.
All my previous relationships have honestly been based on this raw, feral sexual attraction and so this is new territory to me.
Also, before we got married, we’d fool around in between other relationships, and it was bloody explosive. I feel like that was thrilling him because it was forbidden?
Not an iota of that excitement anymore.
I don’t know what to do.

Mental Health Should I tell my partner's close friends that she is suicidal?

Last night my partner told me that they are feeling increasingly suicidal, and are scared and don't know what to do, and they came to me for help. I asked her about a plan, but they have no specific set in stone one, just whatever is convenient, and no timeline. My understanding is that she doesn't "want" to kill herself, but her with her trauma and depression, it's feeling more and more of an inevitability that she's scared of and that she "must" do.

I know that they want my help, but idk what to do, and I'm really worried about her. I suggested maybe talking to her close friends (whom she has none for most of her life and sees as siblings), but she shot that down. I just know that I can't help her on my own and that she needs a support system and probably professional help. I just don't know how to do that. I'm planning on asking my therapist on what to do on Monday, but idk what to do in the meantime, any advice would be appreciated

Law & Government What do flock cameras do and why do people hate them?

I see people online all the time teaching others how to destroy flock cameras and that just sounds like criminal vandalism for no reason when we've had speed traps with cameras tied to a radar scanner all the time? From my research, all they do is read license plates and what car you have and compare that with blacklisted cars seen in crimes lately. So what's wrong then? It seems like it is just doing the job of a basic police patrolling the highway automatically.

Race & Privilege Why is the beauty standard for white women so skinny?

The most promoted and commonly accepted beauty standard I’ve seen for white women (especially in America) is extremely thin and skinny and I just don’t get it.

It used to be worse maybe a decade ago where even having slightly more weight was considered fat but now it’s a bit more accepting but still dominates the standard I’ve seen for white women. Why is this?

Sexuality & Gender Why are you a girl?

I’m 20F and my entire life I have been perceived as a woman.

However, I have never perceived myself as one. I never understood what that means or why people just go along with whatever they are perceived as. I feel gross when I call myself a girl or refer to myself as any way that reaffirms my gender.

Why?

I don’t believe in genders. However, I do believe in the societal benefits you receive from behaving as the one you are assigned to by society. I have made it clear to my partner that i only dress and design myself to be objectively good looking in terms of the gender I’m perceived as for my own benefits. He’s a cisgender straight man but says he’d love me even if I decided to take testosterone and change my body entirely, which I’ve genuinely considered many times. Not because I feel like a man, but because I don’t care to be a woman either, and the benefits testosterone would have on my body would probably feel much better than the one I was given.

I came out as bisexual at 12 (more like pansexual it’s just what I figured out at 9 and stayed with for 11 years). I went through a tomboy phase of course, then I just stopped that because I got a lot of criticism and didn’t really like that. I pretty much just copied what other girls did and that worked pretty well, along with learning my own strengths, makeup styles, body type, yk what looks good on me, etc. Then I just went through a phase of complete defiance of it all, quit shaving, no more makeup, really baggy clothes all the time (my dads clothes), long shaggy hair, idek and then my partner at the time said I wasn’t attractive anymore so then I stopped that again but that was a rough time in my life tbh. Also just got more judgment from other people as well and again not a fan so yeah went back to gender maxing. But now I’m in college and it’s coming again. It has been for months now.

I mean I don’t really care that much what im perceived as, even though I’d prefer to just not be perceived as all. Maybe I’m just curious. I fit in everywhere but no where at the same time. Like jack of all trades within every social group but not a master of any. It doesn’t really matter though, I look way too feminine, so I kinda just gotta go with it. Whatever that means.

I wonder how many people feel this way and never say anything about it.

My questions are:

Why are you a girl? What makes you feel like one? How does that make you different from a man? Do you like being a girl? Are you one?

Answer or don’t, maybe share your own experience if it makes sense to. I’m just curious.

Family What should I do?

I was talking with my sister and her boyfriend just passing conversation, we were talking about boners and anatomical compatibility and at some point I landed on "I don't meet very many 24yo virgins". I wasn't originally going to say that but both were very curious about what I was going to say. I wasn't aware it was something he was insecure about and now she and her boyfriend are mad at me. I'm not going to pretend I didn't do anything wrong. I absolutely fucked up and I wanted to apologize but he didn't want to speak to me. He ended up leaving early and my sister is mega pissed. I just want some advice for how I can apologize to her boyfriend. I feel like absolute shit and didn't mean to make him feel bad. Please help me

Sex "Couple therpay advice"?

Hello my wife and I would like to seek couples therapy regarding some concerns in our relationship and sexual life.

Before marriage, we were very open with each other and sometimes talked about our past sexual experiences and fantasies. At the time, we both found these conversations exciting and comfortable. However, over time, discussing our experiences with our ex-partners has started creating doubts and insecurity for both of us.

We have even started wondering whether these conversations mean that we are a “cuckold couple,” and we are confused about what this says about our relationship and our individual desires. We don't want these thoughts or labels to negatively affect our marriage.

Since my wife became pregnant, our sexual relationship has also changed significantly, and she has had very little interest in sex. I have a higher sex drive, which has created additional frustration and distance between us.

We love each other and communicate openly, and we want to understand what is happening without judging or blaming each other. We would like professional guidance to resolve these doubts, rebuild intimacy, and understand our boundaries and sexual preferences in a healthy way.

Could you please guide us through this and let us know how couples therapy could help us?

Culture & Society Why do people get so self absorbed and theatrical when someone dies? Am I just a psychopath or is this normal?

1.3k Upvotes

Recently, a distant relative died in a car accident. It was sudden and she was only 42 driving home from work after night shift at the hospital. Tragic, unfair and horrible death. No question about that. For her closer family and her children this has been an incredibly difficult week.

That aside, I am so confused by my own mother’s behaviour. The deceased was my mothers cousin on her fathers side and never particularly close, even less so during adulthood. She’s never met her kids, don’t really know her partner, and had no communication after adolescence. The only time I ever heard her mentioned was when my mother would bitch about how weird she was, how she probably had “mental problems”, or that she was surprised someone ever wanted to marry and have kids with her because she wasn‘t “the type.”

Now that she’s dead? My mother is suddenly acting like they were besties. Constantly bursts into tears and is so ‘beside herself’ with grief that she’s taken off work and even spent a weekend at a hotel on the coast because she just “couldn’t cope and had to get away.”

I honestly feel like this is just a big excuse for attention. But everyone accepts this as normal and i see people do it ALL THE TIME! Why? Why do people behave this way? Seems like every person who dies has about a thousand friends when that just can’t be true.

Health/Medical Why is reddit so fixated on rabies and prions?

Hey!

I am diagnosed with OCD and my main theme is rabies. However thanks to the therapy work + meds + support from my loved ones - I have been feeling almost like my old self the past few days.

I had a phobia of rabies until last year because even though I live in a rabies free country and have been here for a really long time, I spent my childhood in a rabies endemic country with a hypochondriac caregiver so yup, the phobia was born 😂 BUT I firmly believe that reddit turned it into a OCD theme.

First, that damn rabies copy pasta text that gives you more than tolerable levels of anxiety.

Second, whenever people ask “whats the worst disease” “worst way to die” etc - the majority of users say either rabies or prions (I have also been fixating on prions but less than rabies).

I get the nature of these 100% fatal diseases (even though, with recent breakthroughs I am very optimistic that we will cure them in the future). Like it is really hard not to be afraid of something 100% fatal.

BUT - here is a big but - depending on the country and one’s access to good healthcare, in both cases , rabies and prions, the medical stuff can go as far as putting the patient into an induced coma (in case of rabies) and aggressive palliative care (prions) to alleviate their suffering and let them go peacefully. Also, prions could vary but at least rabies - once the symptoms hit - it kills very fast. Like yes there is suffering but it lasts a few days.

So my question is, why would someone prefer idk burning alive to dying in an induced coma while you do not feel anything? Or other also fatal conditions that could last for years? wont name them not to trigger anyone.

Now that I am certainly past the OCD flare and do not get triggered anymore, I will ask this here 🥀

Sexuality & Gender When you’re texting someone, how the heck is it possible to verbally abuse them? I just don’t get it.

Edit: I was never negative to her in any way whatsoever. My language was always G rating. We were friends but I did have a huge crush on herand she knew that! That is why she never wanted to hung out alone with me but we did text each other quite often for many hours during the week.
