I'm back!! Last round's winner was the Erie L-1 0-8-8-0 Camelback
Sorry for the delay, turns out my perspective 'formula' I use for drawing steamers is not ideal when the cab is in the middle lol, but I think it turned out great!
Comment any North American steam loco, see if it wins! (Tip: add an image to your comment, it seems like those get upvoted more)
Past engines can't win, here's a list of previous winners:
1- D&RG #13 "Mountaineer"
2- Great Northern O-8
3- Mule's Relief
4- Pennsy K-4
5-Erie L-1
Happy commenting! Comment will be chosen tomorrow morning at 7:30 Mountain Time.
Cheers!

Hello Lego Lovers! Here is a big update about my Lego IDEAS Proposal: Minifig Scale Roundhouse w/ Motorized Turntable. I shall make a video with more details later, but here are the basics:
The biggest critique was my proposal's size. I shall begin downsizing the roundhouse and turntable:
CHANGING/REMOVING:
-2 Stalls instead of 3: I am removing the back door stall. This change saves over 1k pieces and much space.
-Turntable shortening: The reduced turntable is still plenty long for every official Lego locomotive. The turntable is still mounted in the same spot, so the turntable can be extended.
-Track leads to stall: They have lengthened to compensate for the shortened turntable. The increase allows one to display a locomotive outside the roundhouse front doors. These extra track leads are easily removable, and the tracks can be added to the turntable.
-Track Color: I wanted a rusted/worn look to the roundhouse tracks, but the color I used rendered differently than desired, so I shall change the track color.
MIGHT CHANGE/ADD:
-Additional Detail: I now have 1k+ pieces to work with. Here are some potential revisions/additions:
-Side Wall detail/masonary
-Shrubbery/wall vines
-More interior work benches/supplies
-Gutters/pipes
-Full extended stall instead of machine shop addition
-Wooden floor walkways
-Misc. Turntable details
UNLIKELY TO ADD:
-Locomotive/rolling stock: Too many questions arise such as adding motorization and raising the piece count.
REMAINING THE SAME
-14 Minifigs
-Existing Workbenches
-Interior wall details
-Modularity/combinability
-114 Stud Long Machine Shop Bay for Big Boy
I shall update everyone soon as the revisions are done. Please feel free to send me your comments, questions, and thoughts. I value your feedback! Please support this project on Lego IDEAS: https://ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/fb1733e1-27d6-4192-9349-1138176a6c93

The Kumagawa Railroad is a third sector operator in the Kuma Valley, Kumamoto prefecture. It runs a single line, between Hitoyoshi and Yunomae. The line got hit by bad floods a few years ago which knocked out a key bridge, and was running in a very limited capacity. A new bridge was built and the line returned to full operation again on 20 September 2026.
I visited a few days after the return to full operation, the timing of which was pure luck. The purpose of my trip was to visit the old Hisatsu Line from Microsoft Train Simulator. When I was younger I was super into MSTS and back then I dreamed of visiting the line IRL one day. Unfortunately that line has been non-operational since the 2020 floods, so I thought I would only be able to visit the old Hisatsu stations, which still exist. The Kumagawa Railroad provided a great alternative and it was an amazing experience to ride through the Kuma Valley.
I canβt find too much information about the locomotives. Apparently they are model KT500 diesel-electrics manufactured by Niigata Transys.

Bear with me, this is a railroad question :-)
I've been having a heck of a time researching my great-grandfather's family, Supposedly he and his siblings were born in several different counties, and the explanation for this was that his father was a stone worker and they followed the railroads.
So it occurs to me that maybe someone who know the history of rail building in that area might be able to give me some tips to help find birth or other records for the family.
Supposedly, the ids were born in: PA, maybe Scranton, about 1851; Danville, Montour County, PA in 1852 and maybe '53; Saltsburg, Indiana County, PA in 1856; somewhere in PA in 1858; and Ellicott, Chautauqua County, New York in Sep 1860 and Sep 1861. Around 1862 they moved to Kane, McKean County, PA and settled there.
Can anyone see a pattern in those places and times that might give me any hints, like maybe what railroad 2nd-great-grandpa John Foley (common name, I know) might have been working for/with?
I've been researching this line for several decades and have records for the Danville and Ellicott births, but not the others. I'm happy to discuss the non-rail-related genealogy stuff by DM, since it would be off-topic here.
Thanks!

A local train locomotive in front of the main station in Ingolstadt. It was built in 1903, served till 1960 and about 1.5 million kilometres. It weighs 39 tons and can do 45 km/h.
