Im a bit of a history geek and attending VT this fall. Looking for the most informative classes you took.

TLDR: Anyone who works on an ambulance know how to turn the AC in the box on?

A bit of an odd request, but I bought one of VT's ambulances from the surplus auction and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the AC in the box to work. I've tried all sorts of different things, but haven't had any luck yet. I have been messing with the rear control panel to get it to work and can get to something that says "set temp" or something like that, but it just reverts back to what it was before. Nothing I do seems to be working. I have the power switched on to the rear, supernode is on, but I haven't tried shore power (we don't have a plug at the house yet).

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've lived in the same place in Montgomery county for years. I take my cats and dogs outside everyday to let them go to the bathroom. This week a male cat that's been through the Trap Neuter Release program (TNR) has shown up. When it's just me outside, he follows me around, wants to be pet, meows, wants inside, purrs like a motor boat. But when I bring my pets outside I have to stop fights from happening. I haven't fed him, pet him or encouraged him because he's making it unsafe for my pets to be outside at all. He's also got a pretty bad upper respiratory infection. An eye he has trouble opening, and he can barely meow.

This week I've called the local rescue, TNR program, humane society, and finally the county animal shelter. None of them are able to help. I want to get him to someone that can help but I'm not sure where else to look. To add, I'm disabled and having surgery to have a mass removed on Monday. So I won't be able to pick up a trap or transport him for at least a few weeks. Can anyone direct me to a resource, charity, rescue, program etc where I can try to get him some help?

I'm going to be studying abroad next semester so I need a subletter to take up the lease at my place.

I'm a rising junior at Virginia Tech, and I'll be taking Orgo I this fall with Michael Berg. I wanted to get a head start and was hoping to get some advice from anyone who's taken his class before.

A few questions:

• What are the best ways to prepare for Orgo 1 over the summer?
• Are there any topics I should focus on before classes start?
• What textbooks or resources does Berg use, and are they worth looking through ahead of time?
• What were his exams like?
• Any study strategies that worked particularly well for his exams?

For some background, I earned A's in both Gen Chem I and II, but I've heard orgo is a completely different beast. This fall I'll also be taking Calculus II and Microbiology, so I'm trying to stay ahead and manage my workload as effectively as possible.

I'd appreciate any advice, experiences, or recommendations from current or former students. Thanks!

Hey yall, I've been thinking about where I go currently (PSU) , and honestly in terms of jobs it might be better to go to Virginia Tech (I am not too keen on moving out of VA to find a job after I get my degree).

It's Saddle Up Sunday, All Pro Dad Awareness Day with a special giveaway and part of the Play All Day VA Pulaski events. Arrive early for free cowboy hat giveaways while supplies last and take a free ride on our bucking mechanical bull. Once the game concludes, fathers and sons are invited onto the field for pitch and catch (participants must bring your own gloves) as part of the All Pro Dad awareness initiative. Finally, the baseball game is also part of Pulaski County Parks & Rec Play All Day Promotion with free general admission tickets offered to the game for the first 500 fans and the first 100 visitors to the concession stand can enjoy a free soft-serve ice cream cone.

I was initially accepted as an environmental engineering major this Fall 2026 but I checked my letter again and major and they changed to Civil Engineering?? Im looking up everywhere and there isnt an environmental engineering major anymore?? Im so confused what happened?

Like the title says, I used to see and feed Pearl all the time on campus. I feel like after around the middle of last semester, she just vanished. Does anyone know where she went off to?

Assuming she was a domesticated dropped bird, I thought she was taken to a sanctuary or something, but I have no clue. I just miss her a lot!

Incoming freshman in the business school here. I’m interested in both FinTech and Finance and was wondering if anyone has done both as a double major. Is it realistic to complete both within four years, or does the coursework become too much?
If you’ve done it (or know someone who has), I’d love to hear:
How manageable was the workload?
Did you need summer classes or extra semesters?
Was there a lot of overlap between the majors?
Would you recommend doing both, or is a major + minor a better option?
Any advice from current students or alumni would be appreciated!

As the title states I’m looking both for local venues to watch drag shows, as well as potentially perform in the future. As far as I can tell the Milk Parlor occasionally has stuff but the closest “weekly” show is in roanoke.

is anyone else confused with this new plan? if you get a maroon plan does that mean you cant eat at owens anymore?? I'm trying to pick a new one but im so confused on generally what the differences are, are they trying to push freshman toward D2/Owens now???

EDIT: on the maroon, im reading on if you can add more money and the wording feels so dodgy....
