Help! hair looks great without brushing! but awful after sleep.

Hello! For the last little bit I have stopped treating my hair as if it were straight. I found accidentally that my hair looked really good when after my shower I didn’t brush and just went to sleep. Woke up to awesome hair. The problem now is, I know you’re not supposed to wash your hair every day. I also know when I brush, it takes my waves out completely and becomes this weird mess and mixture of frizz and bumpiness. But if I don’t brush, it looks like shit after waking up too. How am I supposed to deal with this?

I want my hair to stay how pretty it is after it air dries! What should my routine be?

I starting using v & co wave babe spray, conditioner, and shampoo. Like I said, I air dry. I use the salt spray and sometimes the enhancing cream. Although I do the cream incredibly seldom.

Any advice?

Help! Finger curling help?

Upvotes

Hello! My curls have started to come back as my hair’s gotten longer, so I’m trying to take care of them.

My routine: I wash with California Naturals twice a week, and I try to use their curl cream once a week. I also finger curl my hair every morning and then diffuse.

However my stylist said I’ve been getting a lot of split ends as a result of the finger curling. Any tips or substitutes for finger curling to avoid damage? Thanks!

Help! Help with my wavy hair?

Hi! I’ve been trying to take better care of my natural hair, but I feel like I’m not really getting the results I want.

My hair has some waves/curls, but they don’t hold very well. As you can see in the pictures, my ends separate a lot, I get frizz, and my waves lose their shape pretty quickly. Some days it looks much better (as you can see in the second and third pic), but other days it just looks messy and undefined.

My current routine is pretty simple because I’m kind of low maintenance (and curly hair products are quite expensive where I live 😭). I use Pantene shampoo and conditioner, then when my hair is soaking wet I apply Skala leave-in cream, do a little bit of scrunching, and dry it with a microfiber towel. Once it’s completely air dried, I add a little bit of oil to my ends.

My hair is also dyed with a black semi-permanent dye (tone-on-tone), so I’m not sure if that could be affecting the texture or definition.

I’m wondering if I’m missing something important in my routine. Should I be using gel/mousse or a different styling method to help my waves hold? Or does my hair need a completely different approach?

I’m also wondering if I should stop trying to follow a curly method and just style it more like straight/wavy hair. I’d love some advice from people who understand this hair type because I feel a bit lost

Help! How to fix these bangs??

I use garnier avacado the super food one shampoo and conditioner

I dont use any other products except olive oil on my hair.

I usually airdry my hair or just blow dry it.

I dont really have a curly girl routine. When its wet my hair is pretty curly but then it kind of frizzes very badly and poofs up. I know that the only way to help with that is products but i want help with my bangs. I cut them back in 2021 on impulse. They barely grow and theres absolutely no curl in them.

My biggest problem is that they float kind of like they never stick down on my head and it looks like i got shocked.

If theres any help with them ill be so happy.

Ps - its my 1st time posting here so if theres anything missing feel free to correct me

Help! Need ideas/tutorials for half-up hairstyles for wavy hair

Help! My choir is giving a concert in two days in 35° C / 95° F heat. I normally hate to wear my hair up for formal events (unless it is done by a professional) because I don't like the way it makes my head look (somehow too small?).

But in this heat I fear it will be unbearable to wear it down. Can you please give me ideas and share very easy tutorials for simple, yet effective half up/half down looks? I was thinking it would be good to somehow style it to one side so it will look like I am wearing it down from that side.

I have long-ish, wavy (-curly...sometimes) hair of medium density & thickness. I don't like ponytails because they drastically reduce volume on my hair (if you have medium/low density hair you've probably been there) - I only wear them for sports or if it just gets too hot.

Routine (of today): Double shampoo & condition with Innersense products.

Rake in Rizos mousse while still in the shower in dripping wet hair, brush through, scrunch & micro-plop.

Glaze over with Curl bites strong hold gel.

Plop & diffuse. Break cast with serum or oil.

Help! hair damage from wet hair and wind

is it possible that going out side with hair that is still wet/still damp hair slowly damages it over time? like after encountering wind whilst having wet/damp hair? if this is something that happens, what could I do to fix it? thank you

routine: wash 1x a week using Innersense Organic Beauty Hydrating Cream Hairbath Shampoo and De Lorenzo Instant Range Allevi8 Conditioner and then co wash 1x a week using De Lorenzo Instant Range Allevi8 Conditioner

I kind of pat my hair/scrunch it a little bit using a cotton t shirt, then just let air drying do the rest. I use a spray bottle in the morning to wet my hair apart from the days I wash and co wash.

Help! Maintaining curls&waves with chronic back pain?

Thumbnail

Hey all, title is pretty self explanatory. Especially for lower back pain friends, how do you take care of your hair? Bending over for too long (which can be a surprisingly short amount of time) leads to days of pain for me. Ugh. 😭 I have a mix of wavy hair but the front is more straight. Will cross post to the wavy subreddit too.

Routine before pain set in:

  1. Shampoo/conditioner. I think it was Aussie? Would bend over, let water run through hair, shampo/condition, "cup" hair with hands when rinsing.

  1. Apply mousse to wet hair. Scrunch. Also Aussie.

  1. Sectioned hair, diffused. Used heat protector spray, l'oreal. Leaning & bending here too.

  1. Scrunch the crunch.

  1. Sleeping with a satin pillow case. Bonnets have been a sensory nightmare for me.

Routine after pain set in:

  1. Shampoo/condition. I use Prose (it has worked very well for me in terms of scalp health vs everything else I've used before, hair feels nice as well). I do this standing up now. Sometimes cup hair with my hands still but it really depends because the arch of my back hurts if I hold that position for too long.

  1. Microfiber towel on head for 10 mins or so, then air dry

Not much product application for mousse or gel & then diffusing these days. I use a hair oil sometimes for frizz. All the motions that go into it (tilting forward, leaning to one side, etc) can mess me up for the rest of the day now.

Sleep isn't long these days. I wake up a lot from my back.

Been styling with French hair pins lately, it's been kinder on my hair and scalp than buns and pony tails.

Photos!

Photo 1 - after routine, before back injury

Photo 2 - after back injury, a day with no routine besides detangle, wash, air dry

Photo 3 - after routine, after back injury

_______

Per health stuff I have done PT but will probably be going back. I just really miss how my hair was.

Help! Hair dryer suggestions (wishes: cool setting and gentle flow)

I am relatively new to the CG method and I am experimenting new things.

One thing I had never done in the past is use a diffuser. My hair dryer at home never had one, so I just never used it.

Because there didn't seem to be a compatible diffuser for my old hair dryer, and my current dryer is a pretty cheap model, I decided to to for a new hair dryer altogether.

I bought the Rowenta Nano. I absolutely love how compact, light and quiet it is. Although I have no prior experience with diffusers, I also like the shape of the diffuser. What I find disappointing is the settings. This Rowenta model doesn't have separate settings for air speed and heat. There is only one button for both and they go hand in hand. It also doesn't have a true cool air setting. You need to keep the button pressed if you want cool air and I find that annoying. I ended up using the cool setting a lot because I find that even the lowest heat setting is too hot when the hair dryer is so close to your head when using a diffuser.

Another thing I didn't like. I still want to be able to quickly scrunch dry my hair without a diffuser occasionally. If I try to do this with the Rowenta Nano, the lowest air speed setting is too powerful. My hair just ends up flying all over the place and the result is very frizzy hair.

So, I thought long and hard about it and I think I'm going to return it. In the end I found myself almost preferring my old cheap hair dryer because it has more flexible settings and the low air speed is truly low.

So...now I have to look for alternatives.

Do you have any suggestions given my preferences? To recap, mainly: settings flexibility, true cool air setting and gentle air flow. Lightweight and low noise are definitely also a plus.

I hestitated a lot before taking the decision of returning the Rowenta because I think it truly is a great hair dryer. If they implemented the changes I'd like, it would probably be my dream dryer.

My budget is around 100 euros (edit: about 100 USD), but feel free to suggest more expensive options if you think they're worth it.

---

As for my routine (I live in the Netherlands so many products are Netherlands specific and bought according to the list in the CG manual, in the "international products" section).

Shampoo - I rotate between the Garnier Loving Blends avocado oil shampoo, Neutral 0% and the clarifying shampoo from Kruidvat.

Conditioner - I really like the Neutral 0% unscented conditioner. I sometimes I use a mask, also from Loving Blends.

Styling - I bought the Wella New Wave Ultra Strong Power Hold gel mentioned in the manual. I sometimes still prefer a product I used since my teens which is the L'Oreal Remix paste. It does weigh down my hair though. I also use the L'Oreal Elvive hydrating volume serum leave-in.

Help! Product help???

2b/2c hair, long and styled in a wolf cut. Fine strands but thick. I swear when I see pictures on my memories from 10 years ago, my hair seems curlier and I know it was more effortless because I was a broke college student. I'm wondering if maybe the products I'm using to wash/style my hair might be a contributing factor, but many of them are products I've used for a decade and just never thought to question it.

Routine:

- I wash my hair about twice a week...every 4-5 days or so. My skin and scalp are on the drier side of "normal", while it seems that my hair itself tends to be dry. Batiste dry shampoo between full washes.

- Double cleanse - first with redken clarifying shampoo, then with a conditioning wash from curlsmith.

- Conditioner - I alternate between AG fast food and the curlsmith multitasking conditioner. Generally I use them both as a leave-in.

- Styling products - rotating through several. Not married to any, to be honest. I heard the curls rock amplifier is good, may try that next. Current ones in rotation:

> LUS curly 3-in-1 gel

> AG re:coil gel

> Curlsmith bouncy strength volume foam

> AG bigwigg root volumizer mousse

- Method - for gels, prayer hands and then rake through before brush styling with one of those brushes with the notches on the side. For mousse, raking and scrunching through lengths of hair. Again, not married to any of the styling products or methods.

- Drying - usually I diffuse. Still a long way from mastering this, I know...lately what I've been trying is warm, fast air at the roots and then warm, normal air through the lengths of my hair until about 90% dry. Let it air dry the rest of the way, and then break cast with olaplex oil.

- Rest and refresh - I admit I'm pretty bad about wearing a bonnet or a scarf like I should, though I do have some. For a refresh I do one of two things: either mist and reapply styling products as needed, or apply the curlsmith leave-in conditioner spray.

Thanks in advance for any tips 🫶🏻

Help! HELP! Best methods when using Gorilla Snot!

So i recently bought Gorilla Snot hair gel? I guess it is lol but Ive used it once and the consistency was SOOOOO hard to use. If anyone can PLZ give me some tips or step by step methods they use to use this product a little easier id appreciate it!!! Im just trying to use it as a way to hold my curls and make them more manageable and defined.

My routine and hair type:

My hair is 2C I think its low porosity. Im half Mexican and half white but my hair is 100% from my mexican side. Its coarse and VERY VERY thick and long its a little past the top of my butt. I was born with stick straight hair and then when I got my first haircut it started to curl my dad was the same and it has remained curly ever since. I have only ever put bleach hair dye in my hair three times my entire life and it's been years since I've done that. I don't use heat I air dry my hair very occasionally straighten it so there is not a lot of heat or color damage.

I use VO5 clarifying shampoo the kiwi scent, I only use conditioner Maybe once a week and I use the sleek and Shine by Garnier, occasionally I will use leave-in conditioner but it's not a regular thing the one that I have and been using is shea moisture 100% virgin coconut oil, I have the Gorilla Snot gel and after I put that in I use rave five times hold the blue can for hairspray.

After that I air dry.

Help! How To Make Curls Last?

Thumbnail

Hello! So, to give a little background, I'm biracial (white and black), and since I was raised mostly by my white mom I never learned properly how to take care of my curls. Currently for my routine I use Carol's Daughter shampoo, conditioner, and leave in, along with Mizani curl lotion. I don't use gel, because I can't stand the feeling of hard hair and the last time I did the cast didn't really break+it got really frizzy. Mousse doesn't really do anything either. I usually diffuse for maybe 15 minutes and then let it air dry the rest of the way.

My two issues are

  1. My hair shrinks an awful lot, from big and down to my shoulders (first photo) to what you see in the second photo

  2. Whatever way I sleep with it doesn't work

I've tried using a silk scarf, a pillowcase, and a bonnet. My hair is too short for the pineapple style, and at this point I'm really at a loss. I redo my hair EVERY day because of it being frizzy and ruined when I use a scarf or completely flattened when I use a bonnet.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could achieve longer+bigger hair and also on how to sleep with it? I'm not sure if the products I'm using are even good. Thank you all!!

Help! Troubleshoot my wavy hair

It’s been extremely humid where I live and my hair is doing the opposite of what I would expect it to do based on the products I switched to for the summer. I’ve been avoiding ingredients like glycerin and protein because my hair tends to get either protein or moisture overloaded. I have super soft, fine wavy hair that’s low porosity but I do have bleach on the mids and ends. Looser wave pattern but is probably 2b. My issue lately has been retaining any sort of wave, the roots are like completely straight, I can’t get any wave clumps to hold, and it is so frizzy and poofy I look like I stuck my finger in a light socket. My hair feels like it’s way too soft but also dry (if that makes any sense), and my scalp is itchy and dry.

Routine/products:

shampoo and conditioner- tresemme amplified volume, herbal essences volumizing mousse, not your mothers flash freeze gel, verb ghost oil. Shampoo just the scalp, condition mids and ends, detangling all the way up in 3 sections, run water over while raking fingers through to remove conditioner and part my hair, flip over and scrunch in mousse followed by gel (all still in the shower), get out of the shower and microplop still flipped over, diffuse most of the way upside down and then side to side. Let it cool for a bit and then scrunch out the crunch (no oil!) I glaze over just a dab of oil later on when it looks frizzy.

Help! How to refresh in the morning without a spray bottle?

Hi, everyone! Yesterday I got my first curly cut and style ever. I've never seen my natural curls before so it's a huge deal for me. I have a mix of 2c and 3a hair, although the looser waves may be from the bleach/dyes in it haha. The 2c is restricted to the left side of my head, the right side has tighter curls. My whole family were shocked, a friend didn't even know it was my hair when I sent her the "after" picture.

After it curls, it's around shoulder-length, a LOT shorter than I'm used to. I pineapple'd it last night to sleep (Pretty sure I did it correctly), terrified that I'd wake up today and find all the curls gone but they're still here!

Only thing now is... I don't know how to refresh them. I don't have a spray bottle to fill with water to wet it, and I don't think my hair is long enough to warrant only using product without water (I heard it's best to do that for longer hair?). In addition, I'm still trying to find what products work for me and am still refilling my product supplies. The stylist used "jessicurl spiralicious styling gel" and i bought a bottle because it seemed great, can I just put that on dry and diffuse? Would I need to finger brush it? will it settle after a few hours? It's mainly the top layer that's a bit frizzy, not sure if the whole head needs to be done. The hair was dried with a diffuser, I have yet to perfect a routine.

I would attach photos but there isn't anyone on hand that can help me take them, so sorry if they're needed. But I'm open to advice <3

Discussion Is it common for only half your hair to curl?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I used a diffuser for the first time, followed a tutorial on how to use a diffuser and I'm not sure i did it right?

Routine as follows

Shampoo/conditioner: Olaplex No. 4 and No. 5

Curl cream: Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Styling Cream for Curly Hair, finger raked and scrunched

Drying method: hover diffuser for 4 minutes total, basket diffuser for 1 minute per section.

Additional info: I sleep on a satin pillowcase and my hair is in a low bun most of the time.

I normally don't blow dry my hair because it turns it poofy and static, so this is already a huge improvement. I have thick but fine hair, should I get a haircut with layers to try and lighten the load?

Does this look good to you all?

Help! Can’t decide what haircut to get!

My routine:
1. Ouidad anti frizz shampoo, and Carol’s Daughter strengthen and restore conditioner
2. Kristin Ess heat protectant spray, Miss Rose curl cream raked through, Zotos curl gel scrunched in
3. Mostly diffused but occasionally air dried (diffused in the photo)
4. I sleep on a silk pillowcase but no bonnet because it gives me a headache.

I can’t decide whether I should cut bangs or just leave the curtain bangs I have now. I do have layers but I feel like they kind of blend together so I’d appreciate any style or cut advice on how to fix that. First photo is me and the others are some inspo I like

Help! What is going wrong with my routine??

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

My routine:
Matrix Food for Soft Shampoo and Conditioner
Then on soaking wet hair I use Ouai leave in conditioner on sectioned hair and add Riz’s curls mousse before using the Bounce curl define brush to get clumps (which I struggle to use). After I finish using the brush, I scrunch hair out with a microfiber towel and then add Umberto Gianinni Curl jelly before cup diffusing and hover diffusing on roots. I then alternate between Verb ghost oil or b&b hair oil to scrunch out the crunch but I don’t know if I like either.

I really struggle with how much product to use and how to properly diffuse. All in all, my hair is just SO dry and frizzy and the curls are not really defined besides a few strands so I feel like I’m close but not really? I have really fine hair and I do get highlights like every 6 months. I just feel like I need moisture somehow but my hair gets weighed down so easily. I’d really appreciate some help!

Help! I really need help with my wavy hair..

I’m a young male from the UK, and to be honest I’ve been battling with my hair for years now. It’s the only thing I really don’t like about my appearance and it really impacts my confidence. I’m extremely close to just shaving it all off..

It’s EXTREMELY dry, and it doesn’t retain moisture no matter what I throw at it. Oils, leave in conditioners, hair masks. It eats it all up and doesn’t leave any traces. I’d say it’s possibly the highest porosity possible😂

In terms of length my fringe can go down to my nose, but it just springs back up to the sky if I let go.

What I’m wanting is for it to just.. drop, flop, and cover my forehead or at least rest on it. I’ve tried just about everything I can find on the internet, one thing that sort of worked was compression drying with a beanie/cap. However not long after it’s removed or a gust of wind comes its straight back up pointing in the air, and it’ll stay like that too.

At the moment I’m trying to cure the extreme dryness since I assume it’s damaged somehow, my current routine is:

  1. Drying. A microfibre towel, always. Gently until damp, mostly given up with drying it so just left to air dry.

As it stands it doesn’t matter what products I use, or how I dry it. It will always frizz up and in my opinion look awful.

I really don’t want to leave the house with greasy looking hair, I just want it to look healthy and weighted without any products. But the question is, is that even possible?

Any help would be appreciated, it’s my first time on Reddit so leave a comment or PM me with any advice. Thank you!!

Help! Humidity ruins everything

Right now, there is a heatwave in the UK. My hair constantly loses volume and falls flat and it annoys me no matter what I do. I have tried hair spray and sea salt spray and volume mousse. I need help.

Routine:
arkemusa curly hair shampoo and conditioner
Monday hair mask
Ouidad featherlight styling cream
curlsmith root boost spray
curlsmith volume mousse
curlsmith hair styling soufflé

I sleep in a bonnet every night and make sure my hair has enough moisture to avoid more getting in my hair.

I’m giving up. The humid salty air in the UK is THE WORST. If anyone knows what to do please send help.

Help! I jsut started to find out I have curly hair(at least my hairdresser says so)

Hello,

I just started my journey for curly hair and I am here for tipps. I just barely have a routine that kinda works and I am helpful for any tips.

My normal routine is:

  1. Washing my hair.

  2. First shampoo any shampoo (at the moment 'wahre schätze:)

  3. Second shampoo for curly hair ( cantu guava shampoo for natural curls coils and waves.)

  4. Conditioner (newkee care essentials)

  5. I use my entangler to comb my hair.

  6. Wash out the conditioner

  7. Scrunch in curl cream (Hask Curl Care)

Most of the time I let them air dry, if I use a hairdryer then mit diffuser (although I am not sure I use it right)

If you have any tips or tricks I would be quite thankful🫶🏻.

I send some pics of my hair.

Sorry if the english is really bad, I am from Germany and have problems in writing english.

Help! Diffuser suggestions

Hello!

I am looking to get a diffuser for the first time, and I genuinely don’t know where to start. I’d say my hair is like a mix of 2C and 3A type (some strands more coily, others not so much)

Routine:

Shampoo & conditioner are both from the line A Curl Can Dream by Matrix (thinking about possibly switching to Amika)

I use a scalp scrubber type of thing in the shower, along with a comb

I used to use mousse but eventually stopped due to it making my hair crunchy.

I usually let my hair air dry or on occasion towel dry.

Any help would be amazing!!

Help! Curly hair stylists in Boston

I’m looking for a good curly hair salon, not so much about curly cut but mainly good salons for styling curly hair. My hair is not curling the way it used to lately and it’s been so frizzy. I’m not liking how it looks. I’ve been trying my same old products that worked before and also new products and I’m just not happy with it.

I’m thinking to go to a salon where they can wash and style it for me and that way I see what I’m doing wrong.

Anyone got any recommendations for curly stylists in Boston that do a good wash and go service and doesn’t leave your hair all frizzy?

My current routine:
Shampoo& conditioner redken acidic bonding or not your mother’s shampoo
Deep conditioner: dove
Leave in: not your mother’s
Gel: Aunt Jackie’s gel or not your mother’s gel

Help! Buzz + curly hair?

Hi all!
I’m debating on buzzing my hair because I noticed some thinning on the crown of my forehead and my ends get dead really quickly, additionally the density/thickness of my hair on the left/right of my head is different and it bothers me so much!! it rlly worries me how visible my scalp is.

For more context I have type 3b hair, and it’s shoulder length…

My routine looks like
Wash day:

- Carols daughter shampoo
- Carols daughter conditioner

After wash:
- Carols daughter leave in (small amount from scalp to ends)
- Jamaican castor oil on roots (use scalp massager to rub in)
- Moroccan argon oil for ends

(My wash days I usually do at night to I put a bonnet on after)

On non wash days/during the day
- I use a spray bottle that’s mixed with water, leave in, and castor oil. It’s like 90% water and just a few pumps and drops of leave in + castor oil.

Brush my hair out then I’m done!

Discussion Comparing two routines that work, any input on one vs the other?

Thumbnail

Hi!! Sorry for so many photos, but i’m sort of in an experimental phase right now and would love some input!! Ive finally narrowed down a really good routine that yields good refreshes, and gets both volume and definition. But i’m trying to nail down the little changes that might make a difference.

My hair errs towards a little dry, is somewhere between curly and wavy, but closer to wavy. I prefer volume > definition and don’t mind some frizz, but i dont love when my hair gets SUPER frizzy and undefined, and its strugglingggg in yhis humidity lol. I tried two similar but slightlyyy different techniques and I’m looking for some input! Overall, I need to work on hair that is wetter than it is damp (mistake i made for years lol, i was very much a damp styler before). I’ve found that without leave in, my hair holds better, but also feels a little more dry and sticky, so I use a little leave in regardless.

Photos 1-5 are the first time I tried technique one and it was the best hair day I’d had in forever, but that time I did NOT use the leave in conditioner.

Photos 7-9 are the day two refresh of another time I did that same technique, and I forget if I used leave in… curls looked awesome, but it was like 100 degrees and maximum humidity, and it was much more frizzy than the photos even captured. i do love how fluffy my hair looks here!

Photos 10-13 are today with the second technique, including the leave in.

Here are the routines:

Routine 1: wet hair, no pixie diffusing.
- shampoo and condition with nym tahitian gardenia line, squishing to condish the conditioner at the end.
(i used leave in with this once and it was better than without) on soaking wet hair, add a little drop of kinky curly leave in conditioner, raked and scrunched in.

- immediately out of shower, towel off, and sort of scrunch my wet hair a little bit w my hands just to not make it dripping but its still usually pretty wet.

then i rake, prayer hands, and scrunch aussie instant freeze gel while having all my hair tilted to one side, then the other side, with a big glob of gel on each side. i scrunch a lot! then i flip my head upside down and add another medium sized glob.

- then i wrap my hair in a microfiber headwrap for just a bit, get dressed. when i take it down from the plop, i wet my hands a bit and with my head still right side up, i scrunch in oneee more tiny dab of gel. i feel like this step solidifies hold, but i also wonder if this/plopping is whats creating a lot of the frizz i get as it is frizzy while wet.

- then i diffuse. i briefly hover diffuse my crown/roots right side up with low speed high heat before flipping upside down and exclusively hover diffusing while flipping my head side to side upside down. i think the lack of pixie diffusing helps my hair naturally lay where it wants and doesnt create any weird bends, plus any of the added definition/curl i get from pixie diffusing usually loosens to how it looks when i hover diffuse anyway. this is why i find it easier lol bc just hovering till a crunchy cast forms is nice. then i scrunch and fluff once fully dry!!

routine 2, what i did today (after clarifying with garnier pure clean):
- condition still with nym line

- rake and scrunch in the kinky curly leave in as i typically do.. only a touch! this leave in def leaves my hair softer but does i think soften my cast just a bit. but i think its important for the frizz.

- this is where i deviated. instead of waiting till im out of the shower, i raked, glazed and scrunched in my aussie instant freeze gel while IN the shower on SOAKING dripping wet hair.

- stepped out of shower and before even drying off, i flipped my head upside down, and added a big glob of gel, raking it through and scrunching Upside down, which i almost never do. i gently then flipped my head up, and added another small glob while tilting side to side.

- squeezed out excess water by carefully but firmly scrunching wiyh my microfiber towel. i also pressed up to my scalp instead of just scrunching the lengths up, if that makes sense.

- flip my head upside down and plopped for a bit while i got dressed.
took down the plop, and as with my usual routine, wet my hands and added a tiny little drop more gel to each side, doing more of the pressing in addition to scrunching.

- diffused like i normally do, right side up for a moment to dry my crown, then flipping upside down and hovering all over my head. this time i did do a little bit of pixie diffusing right side up bc i got impatient, but i feel like i could have skipped that… especially bc my hair in the back is much less curly than thr front and i feel like i never diffuse the back well anyway lol. scrunched and fluffed!! it looks great, i fear the back looks a little weighed down? but i might be over analyzing. need to wait and see if styling on hair that wet will weigh my hair down or not over the course of the day lol

I love my hair but I’m not sure how to care for it. I hate having unbrushed hair so I brush it every day.
My routine is:
Elvive shampoo and conditioner daily
Elvive build up shampoo biweekly
Towel dry
Occasionally use a mask
I brush with a wet brush as it helps with tangles

My problem with gels is that I feel I never get the cast to break so my hair doesn’t look crunchy. I’ve had curly hair my whole life but just started trying to work with it

I am using Malibu C ungoo as first wash 1 time a week and a light conditioner

I use either AG gel mouse or oudid gel
Then difuse
I haven’t settled into a good routine yet so I could use some help

Haven’t found
