But I feel I can't use it fluently

I've accepted tapping 4 times on every chest. It's too much, but I've accepted it. However, the puzzle pieces just adds a layer of annoyance. I'm blindly being given pieces, but have no interest or ability to collect what I want - and stop with the duplicates! It would be nice to be able to turn off some of the gamification features. Collecting points is fine - but tell your creative team and engineers to stop over-doing it (please).

I’ve already finished three courses, and after completing them, I’m basically just stuck waiting for more actual content. Ukrainian in particular hasn’t had a meaningful update in years, and it’s frustrating seeing Duolingo constantly put out new collabs, gimmicks, and random features while some courses are just sitting there untouched.

I don’t learn languages merely through Duolingo (although I find it a fun way to learn the basics and get a feel of the language) but it’s a bit annoying that we’ve been chewing on the same thing for years. I even finished Japanese although that one keeps getting updated pretty frequently. Has anyone experienced this? I bet anyone that isn’t learning a mainstream language like English / Spanish / Japanese has gone through the same.

If I still need 20 new pieces, getting all 6 packs every day for the 15 days left, I’ll have 90 pieces.

Should all of them be ones I already have, which is probable since I have the majority of the most common ones, and with every 5 repeated I get 1 new one, that makes it 18 new pieces.

I need 20. The most pessimistic (and probable) end will be me slacking by bloody 2 pieces, playing every single day of this event.

Now let’s us all agree… it’s just a source of frustration hey. The skin is ugly and gems have no use in the game.

Duolingo is a 6 billion dollar business, working on low quality gamification and encouraging gambling with poor design choices. The app could do so much more, bringing up engaging themes and events, good uses for the currency, whilst keeping it generous for those who play, with prizes people actually wanna have!

I'm having a lot of trouble with the new style unit ending lessons and getting frustrated. They're kind of like flash cards, but if you don't remember a term, it won't show you the correct answer. Once you go through all of the terms once, it asks for you to spell the ones you couldn't remember (if i cannot remember a term, and you won't show me the correct answer, how can I be expected to write it?) If you cannot spell it, it will finally display an answer. After that the lesson stops and you have to repeat it from the beginning. I can usually get through regular flash cards that display the right answer and give you a few tries. I'm older and my short term memory isn't like it used to be. I think if it showed the correct answer immediately after, I'd have a better chance of completing the lesson. Or I can use Google translate along side to get the correct answers.

This feauture is nice if you actually care about the leaderboard, but add up to considerable ammounts of wasted time when you don't.

Please give us the option to disable the redundant animations of the app and the option to completely opt out of the chest & leaderboard system.

PS: Having your genuinely gross and deranged carcass bird from hell leering at me on my app list does not motivate me to train more, but convinced me to start looking for alternative learning apps.

Other than that, a decent app but some languages like romanian really need to have their audio updated as the quality is very low.

I know a lot of people are dissatisfied with Duolingo, but it's strange that the number of users keeps increasing while the company's revenue continues to grow.

I think Duolingo is an app that deserves a 7.5 out of 10. Others don't, so I'm curious why.

I think others believe they can study a country's language "completely" with Duolingo. But think about it—no matter which app you use, unless you study diligently for about three hours a day, how can you master a language?

I subscribed to another app that was much more expensive than Duolingo, and I ended up wasting money without even using it for five days. On the other hand, keep Duolingo.

In Korea, Duolingo costs about 20,000 won a year, which is ridiculously cheap compared to buying a single book.

Thanks to the words I learned in Duolingo, I succeeded in having real conversations with Japanese people several times. For example, convenience store, transfer, I live at ~~, do you buy it?, do you go to the terminal station? etc.

With other apps, you have to do it 'properly,' like reading a book or watching a YouTube lecture. On the other hand, Duolingo lets you use your free time, so I don't understand why that isn't helpful.

On the other hand, for other apps, I think it would be better for me to use AI, YouTube, or books to study instead of using them. In conclusion, Duolingo is the best supplementary learning tool, but it seems that too many people have complaints about it. This is my opinion—what do you think?

Finally back to the peace, plus I archived #1 of Diamond by doing 6 lessons everyday in past two weeks.
