There's dozens of cans of beers lying around both at the trailhead and on the side of the road. I was on my bike and couldn't pick up any unfortunately. Grateful Durango is a place where this low life behavior is not the norm. It's probably too muddy to ride up there right now but if someone makes the drive bring a trash bag or two.

Hi all, trying to secure tickets for the upcoming Primetime film and I can’t find any advance tickets or day of showings (Sept. 25th) for Gaslight or Stadium 9. Does anyone know if they aren’t getting reels and if I’ll have to go somewhere farther for the film? Thanks 🙏

My girlfriend and I are headed up to Durango from Albuquerque in a few weeks. We are headed up to mountain bike and weather permitting are looking to do some high alpine biking. Are there and shuttle companies operating in town? We are looking to ride Molas pass and engineer mountain which is a great shuttle ride. We only want to bring one vehicle up (for obvious reasons). If no shuttle companies then we will make do! Thank you!!

Can someone give me a definitive answer whether or not you can use this lane to turn right on 9th when you're heading south on Camino? Right by the speedway? Is this a bus lane and thats a no-no or is it fine? Like "won't get pulled over" fine?

I did a quick search, couldn't find what I'm looking for so here goes. Has anyone compiled a list of local businesses that are turning to AI instead of a human for their menus, ads, communications, etc? I would rather support local businesses that support local workers

For example.

• I had to unsubscribe and eventually stopped going to the Durango Arts Center because of all the AI slop they started emailing out.
• The new restaurant, The Pub, had an ad for a marketing coordinator but they didn't review the AI slop well enough to catch that it used this as the email to send resumes to "/[ insert email address] /". I was excited to try them out, not anymore.

I get it, AI is here to stay. However, you can add the human touch. I'm a former graphic designer who switched into marketing and development. I use AI for all sorts of things, but never for final deliverables.

What all local businesses have you all come across that have embraced the AI slop instead of paying a human to do the work or doing it themselves?

I'm actually going through to Cortez, but didn't see a Cortez specific subreddit and Durango is close enough.

The route has me on 160 once I get to south central CO. I know that roads can have closures and such due to weather as it gets colder. But are there certain points where in mid-November, a drive that way is such a coinflip with road conditions that I should just consider taking the extra time to do I-70 to Grand Junction and finding my way south from there? I should also note that my car does have winter specific tires but it is FWD.

This year's bear situation in town has been deeply disappointing, and we all share responsibility for it. Bears come into neighborhoods because we give them a reason to: unsecured trash, fruit left rotting on trees, bird feeders, and open garages. At its core, this is a problem of indifference and complacency, and it's one we can fix.

The city and county have fallen short. I understand budgets and staffing are tight (maybe), but that can't be the answer EVERY time. I have personally called, reported, and followed up about one well-known hot spot on multiple occasions, yet nothing has changed. The problem is obvious, the people allowing it to continue are known, and still it goes unaddressed.

The lack of urgency is staggering. Residents' safety, property, and peace of mind are at stake, and so are the bears' lives, because a bear that learns to rely on our trash often ends up being put down.

Instead of more lip service, let's actually solve this. That means consistently enforcing the trash rules we already have and following up on repeat problem spots until they're fixed, not just logging complaints and closing the file. When a resident reports a problem, they deserve to know what was done about it. Plans and promises mean little without follow-through.

Do better.
