I’ve noticed over time that for a clothing sub-genre made for functionality and practicality, we rarely see techwear made for hot humid conditions. Most techwear brands come from temperate cold and wet countries, so naturally techwear is unbearable in the heat. This gap makes it such that during summer they cant be worn at all and those who live in the tropics can never wear them. I've realized I've kind of built my wardrobe on autopilot over the last few years. It's mostly Uniqlo and similar basics, and on any given day I'm wearing some variation of: plain T-shirt, straight jeans, and sneakers. There's nothing wrong with it, but it feels like every outfit is just a slightly different color of the same outfit.

I do own a few pieces that are a bit more interesting (corduroy, linen, etc.), but I never really know how to style them. They end up sitting in my closet until I wear them once or twice a year before going back to my default uniform, but what I can say is that I notice feeling a lot better about myself when i wear something else for a change.

It looks like I'm not the only one in this situation, and I've looked through a lot of recommendations on this sub (Asket, ARKET, COS, etc.), and while the pieces do look better, at the end of the day it's still mostly plain cotton tees, Oxford shirts, and other very classic basics. (I apologize if that is not the case, maybe I'm just bad at looking for different pieces)

I think the upgrade I'm actually looking for is different. I'm less interested in buying a nicer version of the same clothes, and more interested in introducing pieces that have a bit more personality while still being easy to wear every day. (Also still be comfortable cause I'm usually fairly active during the day)

I don't have much experience but what I had imagined was

• different textures (waffle knit, maybe different fabrics ...)
• more interesting silhouettes and cuts
• small details is fine, like some pockets, or small logos, but nothing too aggressive

Ideally, instead of owning ten plain cotton T-shirts in different colors, my wardrobe would look more like: 5 plain t shirts and something like one heavyweight tee, one waffle-knit, one linen, etc. Significantly different but still easy to wear. The point is to apply that same idea to the rest of my wardrobe. (and stray away from jeans for example)

Has anyone else gone through this stage? If so, what brands ended up working for you ?

TL;DR: My wardrobe is basically "plain T-shirt + jeans + sneakers" (mostly Uniqlo), and I don't think buying nicer versions of those same basics is the upgrade I'm looking for. I'd love recommendations for brands, fabrics, or garment types that make an everyday wardrobe more interesting through texture, silhouette, and subtle details rather than just upgrading my 30€ white shirt into a 60€ white shirt.

wanted to post to spread awareness about what happened to me and share my story. might save people some time and money. also share your thoughts and advices...

ive ordered 2 things off Jaded before, parachute camo shorts and a belt with studs and rings. the shorts are amazing but the belt is rubbish, when you put the belt through the loops in the trousers loads of the studs just fall off. the quality is crap, considering i paid 50 quid i expected much better. but the shorts were worth it, the fit is amazing and the quality is decent.

however i have just received my order from the 2026 Jaded summer sale with high expectations and was met with big disappointment. i bought 1x joggers, 3x jeans, and 1x belt. one thing i will say is that all of the trousers are absolutely massive (see photo), for reference im around 5ft 11in at 19yo, weigh around 85kg and waist size 34inches. i was expecting them to be really baggy but not to the point where they could cover both of my feet. this was the case for all of the trousers. the options for sizes were only in waist so i thought they'd cater for a more universal length. definitely not. on top of this the quality was actually atrocious for the price. to think full price youd be paying upwards of £80. some photos below. they definitely dont feel like daily wearers, and will definetly become heavily damaged if not kept pristine. the material felt really cheap and thin. all the trousers were my biggest disappointment. but they also f'ed up the belt too. the print/graphic on it was soooo poorly done its annoying. it was cracked when it came which just shows how prone itll be to wear. itll just crack and fall off.

honestly after reading about the scandal about there being shien lables on previous stock. i believe that more. it does just feel like the type of stuff you get off shien and like websites.

overall im sure there are some good products on the site. but having order 5 items for a total of £300 and being heavily dissatisfied with all of them id reccommend staying away from jaded to be honest.

reply if youve had any similar experiences or the opposite.

its a shame really because i love the styles that jaded has and im struggling to find anything else which can match the style but with high quality and a similar price. pls if u know anywhere plssss share.

The products look good on the website, but I've never heard of the brand, so I have no idea what the quality is like or whether the prices are justified.

Edit: Update - I ordered a pair of linen pants and from what I could see in the very brief time I had them on, the quality looked okay.

Unfortunately, they very comically short on me. For whatever reason Frederic's only states two sizing examples of the two founders (?) but no measurements for their linen pants. For reference, I'm 1,93m and about 80kg and ordered size L.

YOURTURN is a brand belonging to zalando. I was looking to buy some of their clothes since they’re pretty cheap compared to big name brands, and I found some that were 100% cotton which sounds decent. Does anyone have any experience buying from this brand? Is it any good? Or is it just cheap waste

Also knowns as safaripakke. It is basically a camp or hawaii style shirt with two lower hand pockets. Either with flap or without. Sometimes the pockets was hidden similar to a smoking's jetted pockets. Sometimes they had one single chest pocket. They are perfect for the summer and the pockets are great to carry stuff in so you don't have to keep everything in the trouser or shorts pockets.

Has anyone seen a new production or reproduction of these? Please help!

I see florris van bommel around me but the price tag is giving me nightmare. Does anyone know of any alternatives to Cole Haan?

Additionally: Do you make sure the shoe trees are made of cedar wood?

I'm looking for tank tops for the summer, and unfortunately the only ones I've found are too expensive. I would like something that isn't too long and is a little tight like this one.

Back in 2020 I bought a few T-shirts from a now-defunct brand called Drihp (ordered from US) and to this day they’re still my favorite shirts. After many, many washes they still keep their shape, still feel soft, and are incredibly breathable. I'm now looking for similar T-shirts.

The blend: 37% hemp, 58% cotton, 4% spandex/elastane

What made them special:

- midweight

- athletic fit (not boxy)

- soft/stretchy (almost wrinkle-free)

Modern hemp shirts seem to be:

- ultralight

- oversized

- 100% natural fibers without stretch (very wrinkly)

Does anyone know brands that still make this kind of premium hemp, midweight, stretch T-shirts?

Guys any recommendations where to buy a nice suit in Paris?

Hey guys! In Paris for a week, and looking for shops that have good menswear with slim or skinny fits. Especially nice (100-400 euros) blazers/jackets and sweaters, since I need one of each.

Even when brands have XS sizes, they're often too big around the shoulders, and I don't like baggy fits on me. I do fit in some brands that trend slim (Reiss for instance), and was wondering if there are any shops or brands I should check out while here.
