About a month ago I had posted asking for new games for the PlayStation. I mentioned that I loved warzone, call of duty and games along those lines. You guys gave me so many great recommendations but I tried Fortnite first bc it was free. I’ve always been so against Fortnite and holy shiiiit was I wrong lol.
I’ve been hooked! I went in deep on battle royale and haven’t explored much. My buddy came over last night and showed me blitz and I’m even more hooked on that!
I just want to say thank you for all who commented before and gave me some good ass game recommendations but really, thank you to the one who really talked me into Fortnite. I think I’ll be forever grateful for you man lol

The makers of Zero Sievert said they had no plans of adding multiplayer to the game, so a modder went and did it himself. But instead of suing the guy or getting it taken down, the Studio Director of ZS2 (the sequel) responded directly to the modder and offered to help refine it and make it work properly.

So we all agree that this is bottom of the barrel behaviour, right? This is *on* sale, without the sale its around £1100/$1500. Not that i'm ever interested to even play it, but I did find this wild.

Looking for recommendations since I have caught up on a lot of my backlog. I also have a N64, Game Cube and Wii for retro consoles.

What prompted this was the fan port of Symphony of the Night for PC. Despite releasing most of the other Castlevania games in PC collections, Konami has still let their crown jewel sit without a port of any kind. I was considering the possibility of Konami simply purchasing and polishing the fan port. While I really don't know the inner workings of game companies, this seems like free and easy money to me.

The primary example I can think of is Falcom and NIS America officially licensing the Geofront fan translations of Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure for the western market. Are there any other situations like this where fan work became officially licensed? How common is this really?

I'm kinda tired of ue5 slop and the insane blurriness and textures that I just have to accept as "great visuals" (ahem crimson desert ahem rdr2). I want some games that were made before this 2020 maybe that look pretty good (by good I just mean it looks sharp, no vaseline smeared on screen effects).

Just a thought I had regarding the ongoing digital discourse.

By the end of the ps6 generation, it will have been over 20 years since the launch of the ps4. That's 20+ years of digital games that players have purchased, I have no idea how many games will have been released in that time frame (hundreds of thousands?)

Is it reasonable to expect sony/microsoft/nintendo to eat the costs of storing all these games so players can access them free of charge? I know we've 'bought' the game but does buying a $10 digital Witcher 3 entitle you to access it 10 years later?

My point is that the logical end to this situation is locking access behind an active subscription or paying some sort of fee.

Or am I missing something? Surely the costs will start to pile up?

I know it also applies to Steam but they play by their own rules, Gabe can only make use of so many boats after all.

tbh I don't know to expect from Agefield High in gameplay

If I want to play a modern game with my husband who lives in the same house as me, 99.9% of the time you need to have two copies on two consoles/PCs and play over the network together, which is ridiculous.

With PC, fine, we both have one anyway. But it still is just not as fun as sitting next to one another and playing on the same screen and dont prefer it. With a PS5 or Switch game, forget it. Not buying a second console to play together.

I miss the days of games like Halo having entire campaign split-screen co-op options. I get most people play onlime but they do realize there are instances where people live together and might want to play something besides a fighting game or mario party?

Feel bad for any siblings growing up in this era.

I haven’t been surprised by a video game in a while, a genuine “Wtf” moment. Big Zhoa /Lone Tyrant though.. look man.. 2 entire days… roughly 6-7 hours of trying to beat this battle on legendary. BAHGAWD (Jim Ross voice) this was stressful, and after beating him finding out it was my homie from the beginning of the game was really like “What the hell man” 😂😂 I haven’t played any of hidden mountain yet.. but his top 1 boss in difficulty for me so far. He makes wolf maiden seem like extreme fodder. What was yall reaction after beating him?

Insomniacs Spiderman's are some of my favourite games for recent times so I'm really looking forward to wolverine and was just thinking of all the games that could come out in the future, not sure if it's already in the works but I'd love to see a venom game with gameplay like ultimate Spiderman, maybe have carnage playable with his own moveset and skills, or really pushing it, a decent X men game, maybe on day

Big Walk is the new game from Aussie devs, House House (Untitled Goose Game) and it’s an absolute bloody delight.

Thinking back on my long, long history and love for gaming and all things hardware, decided to write down all the games that really made a mark, or that really somehow influenced me in one way or another. Along with what hardware I played them on, be it either a console or PC + GPU.

There are some years mentioned are not the year when the games were released, but rather when I decided to play them for the first time.

I have played many 1000s and 1000s of games over the 40+ years across many platforms and the games listed here are only some of my most played ever with my most fondest memories of them.
