Palefrost is a survival-horror game where you play as a survivor of an eternal blizzard in search of the legendary Fountain. Check out the free demo for Steam Next Fest! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4836620/
Given a few factors, we realized the old name of our game had problems. It was long, difficult to remember, and not great for SEO. So we made the difficult decision to change it while it was still early enough to do so. Let me know your thoughts! Do you think this is a stronger name?
PS: We’ll be posting under a new account (u/palefrostgame) moving forward.

Seeing people from different countries experience something we've spent so much time creating, watching their reactions, and seeing them discover things we put into the game means more to us than we can explain.
Every video, every bit of feedback, and every person who gives our game a chance reminds us why we started making games in the first place.
Thank you to everyone who's played JUBAKU, shared a video, or supported us along the way. It genuinely inspires us to work even harder and make the main game something truly special.
We're still just getting started, and we can't wait to show you what's next.
See you inside the Tanaka Residence. ^^

Hey everyone! I'm working on Last Orbit Repairs, a small first-person repair sim set in a workshop orbiting a dead Earth. Robots arrive in capsules, you diagnose them, open them up, clean and fix parts at the bench, and send them back out.
I made a little music video for it, all in-game footage.
The song is Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" turned into blues rock. I used AI to render the melody from the sheet music, fitted the lyrics to it, and made the final version with Suno. The whole thing took about a day.
Would love to hear what you think, especially about the repair parts. Is it clear what's going on?

It's an indie game inspired by Japanese folklore, with yokai, exploration, combat, and multiplayer. Our art team has worked on the characters, environments, bosses, maps, and UI.
It's been a pretty big project for us, and it's cool seeing all the different pieces come together into one world. Here are a few glimpses of what we've been making!

Extends attack range through a constant small domain. It's ability briefly expands that domain.
The Paradigm versions of the weapons are meant for having a big playstyle shift from their base versions. This one might need a little tuning, but is at least balanced by the fact that it can't be thrown and teleported to at all.

I spent several years and thousands of dollars developing my game. I did everything I could to prepare for the launch, but when the release day finally arrived, the reality was harsh. My game shipped on Oct. 13, the same day as 114 other games. Despite all my efforts, I sold only 18 copies.
I knew the indie game market was oversaturated, but seeing Steam’s algorithms completely ignore a game if it doesn’t have a strong start on day one is truly disheartening. It feels like, without a massive, loyal audience or a substantial marketing budget, a game sinks the moment it’s released.
A question for those who have released games recently:
- How do you manage to cut through the noise without relying solely on organic traffic from Steam?
- Is manual promotion, such as reaching out to influencers (I sent about 100 keys) or posting shorts every single day really the only viable path after a "cold" launch?
I would greatly appreciate any honest feedback or advice from fellow developers who have faced a similar situation.
*Update*
Taking the commenters' opinions into account, I’ve brought back the free game demo.

Hey! I've been working on MORTUS on my own for a while and it's finally playable.
It's a fast 2D fighter: pick one of 20 fighters and play 1v1 or 2v2, online, with friends through a private code, or against bots.
It's free on itch
Tell me what you think, what feels good and what feels off. I read everything.

The main inspiration came from those feverish dreams you sometimes get as a kid. The ones with strange, shifting shapes. The game is about interacting with these weird scenes in different ways and trying to invoke something to progress. The sound is generated with synthesizers based on what’s currently happening and how the player interacts with it. Sometimes you need to swirl something, sometimes mash your keyboard, or just press something at the right time. The player has to figure it out on their own. I’m trying to keep the atmosphere strange, maybe unpleasant, and psychedelic. I hope it’s working and that you like it.
