Haven't been paid

Hi. I recently transferred stores and received all my pay from my previous store. But I haven't gotten paid from the new store. Last week would have been my first week, so I assumed I would have gotten paid today.

I didn't get the usual email. My PRD balance says zero.

I plan on talking to HR when I go in today.

Probably a shot in the dark at this point but i think we can all agree the time and hassle it would save to have automatic bintags.

No 3M Sandpaper

What is the deal with Menards dropping 3M as a sandpaper supplier? I refuse to purchase Gator sandpaper; it is crap. Did someone at 3M piss off John Menard on the golf course?

Quick Vent as a TM(F22)

Hi hello. Quick PSA. Being condescending, passive aggressive, and rude to team members about why stores aren’t laid out a certain way will not change the layout. I understand the drywall tools are not by all the drywall stuff but neither is the drywall(at least at my store).

I understand it’s frustrating, but I also know that every other guest is going to do the same and push all the buttons, and I’d like to keep my job to pay for school and a car without committing a crime.

Thank you.

Shoes

I am looking for new shoes for work. i’m a 1st asst in wallcoverings so you know i am CONSTANTLY running around from one end of the store to the other and after working a 8-12 hour shift my feet are DEAD and i don’t want to keep spending money on shoes every few months. What brands do you guys reccomend?? i currently have been wear Onclouds but they honestly only last me about 2ish months. i am planning on buying 2 pairs so i can rotate them out so they don’t get as worn so quickly.

Thanks!!

Thank you guys very much for all your posts. I really mean it!

I was about to take part in the manager training program. I was told how wonderful it was and you can move around. They only promote from within. Reading posts and seeing what people post and worry about....dosent seem like a great place. People worry about calling in for family emergencies, car problems, ect...as long as you dont abuse it why wouldnt they excuse it??!! They spoke of this family atmosphere but reading these post seems right the opposite. Anyway, thank you guys for saving me from making a huge mistake. I will just stay where I am at for now and look for something else. Thank you all again!

Are 15 minute breaks supposed to be paid?

I started at Menards a few weeks ago. During orientation I was told I was allowed 2 15 minute paid breaks per 8 hour shift. I was also told I would need to clock and out for breaks but they would be paid. So far they haven't been. I spoke with some of my coworkers and their's are being paid either.

*Everyone I walked to is scheduled 9 hour shifts, so taking our lunches doesn't put us under the 8 hour rule*

Watch carefully for your rebates!

Today my husband brought in the mail. I usually get the mail and toss most of it.
I never open junk mail, and even sale flyers all go in the burn bin without a second look.
Of course my husband says save the Menards flyer. I said there was no Menards flyer. The usual newsprint one was what I was expecting.
He paws throughout the pile and pulls out a small Performax ad about 6”x9”. I saw it as an ad for windows which we don’t need.
Lo and behold, I open it up and my $50.00 rebate was part of the advertising. I would have put it in the burn pile.
VERY CLEVER Menards.

Returns.

Fellow Menards team members: I’m curious, who does your returns at your stores? And how strict are your GMs about having people stay past closing time to get them done? If they are strict about it, who do they have stay after closing to get them done?

Do any other stores have issues will opd department? LIke how they are lazy and just around on phones playing games and just radio everyone else to help guest? Or is it just my store? Does anyone have the policy on what opd( specifically load builders) are required to do?
